"Okay I get the fact you're going to have a meeting about this whole arranged marriage thing, just one question though. Why the hell am I here?"

It was a couple of days after the first meeting with Riser and when James summoned the Boosted Gear. He had spent a little time experimenting with it and was impressed with its capabilities. While it didn't enhance any of his evolved human capabilities it did increase his speed and strength, doubling it every ten seconds. Although to be honest it wasn't really that impressive with some of the technologies he had access to. Like the armbands Asia and the fallen angels were wearing, while the boosted gear might be able to boost his strength to a higher level it would take too long. It would just be easier to slap on one of those armbands, unfortunately the only ones he had were the ones being tested by that little group, and it wasn't like he needed them anyway. He already had a certain degree of what could only be called superhuman strength. Enough to be able to resist a rook like Koneko.

"Well after the help you gave me last time I'm sure you would be a big help again." Rias said.

"I'm leaving." James said getting up.

"Please stay!" Rias pleaded.

"I'm leaving." James didn't pause in his walk out of the room. "This is not my problem. I told you before, stick to your guns about the deal and you have six years to plan a way out."

"I wish it was that simple but my family will keep pushing things. If I can come up with a way to stop this marriage now it would be much easier." Rias said.

"Once again, not my problem, I have better things I could be doing. Just tell them that was the agreement you made and that's the one you'll stick to and your pride as a devil won't let you break a deal." James said.

"Please stay!" Rias once again said.

Magic circles on the floor appeared and a number of people arrived.

"Wait the meeting is happening here?" James asked realising that fact as he saw the people. "That's why you and Akeno practically dragged me here isn't it? You realise I'm going to punish you two right?"

Akeno shot him what could only be called a dangerous smile. "Oh and just how are you going to punish us? Are you going to bend us over your knee and -"

"Akeno not now." Rias quickly said.

"Or better yet -"

"Save it for later." James cut Akeno off with a stern look.

Akeno giggled. "Well I'm looking forward to it; I am a bit of an M as well after all."

"You owe me for this, big time." James quickly said just as the people finished teleporting in.

Grayfia and Riser were there, behind Riser were fifteen girls and besides Grayfia was a man who looked like a male version of Rias. There were two adults who were most likely Riser's parents next to them and next to them. On the other side next to the male version of Rias were two other adults and judging by the man's red hair and the fact the woman looked a lot like Rias with brown hair and violet eyes were the Occult Research Club President's parents. It didn't take long for everyone to get sorted into seats, well everyone except the peerage members. Riser's all female peerage stood behind, well except for the girl with her blonde hair in drills who was introduced as Riser's sister Ravel. Kiba, Koneko and Akeno stood behind Rias and Grayfia served all the people sitting tea before standing beside the man who introduced himself as Sirzechs, who as James knew by know was the leader of the devils, along with being Rias's older brother.

James received curious looks from everyone especially from Sirzechs but nobody said anything about him being there. The talks went on for a little bit and James just sat there observing while drinking his tea.

After a little while of listening he spoke up. "One moment, I need to speak to Rias alone."

He then under the watch of all of them pulled Rias to the side of the room and made sure that no one would be able to hear them.

"What is it?" Rias asked.

"Okay this is how it is; Riser's mother wants you to marry her son because she believes you can be a good influence on him. Also because her and your mother are old friends and wish to see the families bonded because of that, the same with your mother as well. Although she does so your distaste for him quite clearly she also believes you would be a good influence on him and not only that but you would be in a political position which would make you untouchable." James said quickly shooting the group staring at them curiously a quick glance before looking back at Rias. "The same goes for your dad, your brother however he sees that there's no chance in hell, pun fully intended that you would ever want to marry Riser. He's setting this up as a kind of test. He's going to suggest a rating game and see how powerful you are, to see if you're strong enough so to speak. Although he does fully realise that your chances of winning are pretty much zero so was planning on trying to get me to come and save you by challenging Riser so he can see my power first hand."

Rias's jaw dropped at hearing that. "What?"

"I know it's ridiculous, to think that he believed he had any chance of manipulating me is just laughable. Also to believe I would just charge in there and try and save you like that is just completely ridiculous." James said with a sigh.

"Wait what do you mean you wouldn't save me?!" Rias said looking slightly annoyed.

"Well this is a devil matter, it really has nothing to do with me and I wouldn't want to put myself in the spotlight for something that isn't my concern. I already have enough on my plate then dealing with your problems and everything that comes with them." James told her bluntly.

Rias sighed and lowered her head slightly. Even as she felt a little hurt and betrayed she realised he was speaking the truth, which is why she was only slightly hurt by the outright refusal to help.

"Oh I never said I was refusing to help, there are plenty of ways I could help you right now and even get you out of the contract completely."

Okay that mind reading thing was getting a little creepy.

"Do you want my help or not?"

"Sorry." Rias muttered. "Okay so how can you get me out of this marriage?"

James looked slightly amused. "Uh huh I'll help on a few conditions, one after all this you make sure I'm not bothered by any other devils. If you have problems with that just ask your brother for help. Also stop asking me to become a member of your peerage it's just never going to happen. Do we have a deal?"

"Yes we have a deal." Rias said with a large smile. She was a little upset at not being able to try and get him in her peerage anymore but he never said anything about her other servants trying to convince him did he?

"Yeah that's never going to happen so don't try."

Dammit that mind reading was just so unfair.

"I wasn't reading your mind; I could tell what you were thinking just by the look on your face." James said as they started to walk back to the others.

"Okay so this is simple, everyone except for two of you are pushing for this marriage to happen pretty much now. This contract say's however that Rias has until the end of her University education which is probably at the very least six years away, and that's at the very least. She could end up taking even more classes to extend that by a good few years. But Rias herself doesn't want to marry Riser at all, so how about a deal?" James said as he took his seat.

"Oh and what kind of deal?" Sirzechs asked.

"The same one you were going to try and give to Rias, with a little twist." James said. "It would be a match but not one of these rating games between Riser and Rias. It would be a fight between me and Riser along with his entire peerage. If Riser wins the marriage happens instantly, if I win it's called off permanently, the contract terminated. It wouldn't really be fair on Rias, no experience and with only a few peerage members she wouldn't have any chance of success and it isn't like someone would just ride in and save her at the last second."

Sirzechs narrowed his eyes slightly for only a brief second but it was enough for James to get that he understood the meaning of that little message. Then the red haired Lucifer nodded slightly and with a small smile.

"That would be interesting, a fight between the current Sekiryuutei and a member of the house of Phenex along with his peerage. Yes I don't see why not, unless anyone here has any objections?" He asked looking around the room. Seeing no objections he smiled slightly. "The fight will take place tomorrow then."

"Well that was quick, but I guess that's one of the perks of being the boss." James said.

"Do you really think your servant is any match for me Rias?" Riser laughed. "I can't wait for our wedding, especially our wedding ni-"

"I'm not her servant." James cut him off. "I'm not her servant, peerage member or anything like that. But I suggest you leave now and get ready for tomorrow."

It didn't take long for most of the room to teleport out most likely to prepare for tomorrow. Everyone except Sirzechs, Grayfia, Rias and her peerage.

"You don't have the capability to try and manipulate me Sirzechs Lucifer. Avoid trying it in the future; it'll spare everyone a headache. I'll give you credit though if someone didn't have the same kinds of gifts I had they would have fallen for it easily. You're a natural at manipulating people and I don't think that it has anything to do with you being a devil." James said as he turned to stare at the red haired leader of the devils.

"No I guess it isn't, now I have a question, can you really take down Riser and his peerage on your own? And what did you ask for it? I saw Rias mouth the word deal so I know there is something." Sirzechs asked, his concern for his sister shoving everything else into the back of his mind for the moment.

"Absolutely I can take him out easily, and Rias will tell you about our agreement. Now if there's nothing else I'm going home. Just have someone come to my house during the time of the match to come and collect me." James told them as he turned to leave the room. "Huh oh yeah that reminds me, you're the Lucifer right? The leader of the devils and all that."

"Yes." Sirzechs answered him.

"My name is James McGuinness nice to meet you." James held out his hand.

Sirzechs smiled and shook his hand. "So you're the one Rias-tan has been telling me about, huh I thought it was just a joke. Sirzechs Lucifer, it's nice to meet you to. Tell me is it true that you're an alien?"

"No I'm not an alien; I just travel through space and to other planets. The people I work for have been meaning to try and contact you for a short while now." James told him.

"Well there have been things happening and also the story which Rias and Sona came to us with sounded unbelievable." Sirzechs told him. "We did have some people check things out around here just to make sure they hadn't been manipulated by something but when nothing came back we just thought it was a joke of some kind."

"That I can understand, but it is the truth and I can prove it right now." James said with a mischievous grin and quickly glancing at his arm band after getting the mental message from it.

"Oh and how?" Sirzechs asked looking amused.

"By taking you to see my spaceship of course!"

There was a flash of light and a second later the room was empty of people.
