AN: Hello everyone. I am very sorry I took a two year hiatus from writing. I felt like my writing wasn't good and that people didn't like it and it got to the point where I hated writing. I questioned almost everything I wrote and chose to stop out of fear and boredom from the stories I was writing. I hope to finish out all my stories but I am making no promises anymore. Depending on how well this chapter goes over I may or may not go back to my other stories too. I know my punctuation and spelling and typos are crap so please ignore those and please refrain from telling me in reviews. Now on a side note I must warn you, since it's been so long it might take me a bit to get back into the flow of writing so please bear with me. There is also the possibility things might not completely match up but I will do my best to avoid that. Once again I am sorry for stopping but I needed time away to fall in love with writing again. Today is July 20, 2018 and this is the first chapter today. Anything you recognize is JK Rowlings and anything you don't is mine.
Hermione POV
"What do you mean you can't find them?!" Molly screamed, her hands curled into fists at her side. She looked every bit the ferocious mother bear she was when things weren't right with her kids and at this moment she had every right to be upset.
Something strange was going on. Ginny, Molly, and I were supposed to get ready for her wedding at the Burrow before heading to Hogwarts but when I went to wake her up there was no sign of her. I told Molly, which in retrospect may have not been the best idea but I had told her all the same. She had checked all of Ginny's usual spots around the house but she was nowhere to be found. It was when a single daisy was found on the nightstand in Molly and Arthur's bedroom that Molly had panicked and sent a patronus to Dumbledore.
"Calm yourself Molly." Dumbledore said, his eyes twinkling too much for my liking. I had a very peculiar feeling he knew whatever it was that had happened. Ever since he had gotten here he had been acting very peculiar and not like his usual self at all. Whenever a child had gone missing, young or old, he took it to heart immensely so. This man was too happy. Too cheery... too... something...
"Maybe we should check the Hogwarts common room again?" I said pulling on one of my curls.
"I thought you said you had Minerva check!" Molly yelled whirling around to glare at me. I gulped and took a step back. "I did. I sent her an owl twenty minutes ago!"
"An owl? No wonder we haven't heard anything! What were you thinking? You're best friend is missing!" Molly started crying then. Big loud sobs that were almost comical. But nothing was funny about this, like she said Ginny was indeed missing.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Weasley I'll go and check -"
"No you will not! I don't trust you to do it right! I'm going to check for myself. Ughhh when I find that girl I'm going to kill her!" Molly shrieked stomping out of the house before disapparating with a loud pop.
I blinked owlishly and turned to Dumbledore whose eyes were still twinkling. My eyes turned to slits as I watch his lips slowly turn up into a smile. "You know where they are, don't you."
He chuckled, "Of course I do Mrs. Snape, I helped them escape." He dug into one of his many pockets in his brilliant green robes that all but shined like a beacon and pulled out a pocket watch.
"Escape?! What do you mean escape?" I asked my heart pounding even louder in my chest.
"I mean your best friend and her soon-to-be-husband are eloping." A great sigh escaped my lips and my whole body relaxed.
"Oh thank Merlin..." I said letting out a relieved breath. The tightness in my chest slowly leached out and my shoulders slumped.
"Hmmm..." Dumbledore flicked open the watch and snapped it shut quickly. "The festivities should be starting very soon and you will be sorely missed my dear. We will get there quicker by apparating."
"Dumbledore... what in the world are you talking about?" I asked feeling very confused.
He chuckled again and held out his arm, "You'll see my dear, shall we?"
Nothing was making sense and I could feel my heart pounding loudly in my chest. Why was Dumbledore asking me to Apparate when I was getting to the point where it was no longer safe to do so since I could lose the baby? He had studied healing when he was younger and knew it was no longer safe.
"Sir, I don't think -"
"You have no choice." He growled grabbing onto my arm a steely look in his eye. I gasped and tried to pull away. The look on his face was pure unadulterated evil and hatred. Who was this man? He may have looked like Dumbledore but it sure as hell wasn't him.
"You're not professor Dumbledore! Who the hell are you?! What did you do to the headmaster?!" I screeched, wrenching against the ironclad grip. Whoever was impostering Dumbledore knew what they were doing and how to keep someone in their grasp. He was pinching my skin in such a way that every time I tried to pull away it twisted my skin sharply so it felt like my bones were breaking.
Was it polyjuice potion? It was the only thing it could be! How could I have been so stupid?!
And now I was alone... A strange stutter pattered through my chest and I gasped... Severus and my connection! "Severus help! Severus! Severus! I'm at the Burrow! HELP!" I yelled and thought his name as loud as I could.
Pain exploded suddenly in my cheek and I feel back against the wall, tripping over a chair in the process. He had slapped me. My favorite teacher had slapped me. Tears trickled down my cheek and I could feel my left eye swelling shut. I had always loved all the rings Dumbledore chose to wear, so beautiful. But I never realized how painful they could be.
"Shut up you stupid girl! And to think I once called you the brightest witch of your age." I gasped and stared in shock at the words that passed his lips. I could only think of one man who had said that to me recently.
"It can't be.." I whispered brokenly a tear trickling down my bruised cheek.
"Oh Granger, how could you forget me? After all you were the one who murdered me."
