So this is the epilogue! I know I didn't include Hermione or Ron in it (but they are obviously still in their lives, I just wrote out a tiny part without them), because I just wanted it to be very cozy and centered around the little family… Anyways, enjoy!

Chapter 16
Epilogue

" I want to fix that in my memory forever."
- Ron Weasley, The Goblet of Fire

"Potter!" Harry turned around his bed, covering his head with his pillow. It couldn't be morning just yet. He wasn't ready yet. He needed ten more minutes to stay in this comfortable bubble, that was all.

"Potter! Get out of your bed you lazy scumbag! The boys are ready to go, but you're still lying there like a sloth!" Harry frowned against his cushion. The boys? Why were the boys ready? So early in the morning?

Gradually, Harry became awake and his memories came floating back into his head. It was the first of September. He had closed the Quidditch shop for today so they could see off the kids at the train. The boys had to get ready for Hogwarts. Harry's head shot up, raven hair pointing in every direction.

"The boys need to get ready for school! What time is it? Are they out of bed yet?!" Harry pushed back the covers, jumping up and clumsily started looking for his clothes.

"Harry. They. Are. Ready. To. Go. We were just waiting for you to get out of your coffin." Malfoy was standing in the doorway, an amused smile on his face, hands on his hips. Harry grumbled.

"You couldn't have woken me earlier? Asshole." He put on the pair of pants he found on the ground and walked over to the closet for a fresh shirt.

"No, I wanted you to get a good night's sleep. We've been at it for too long yesterday and you were exhausted." Harry's head turned as red as a tomato. Yet again, Harry thanked who ever had invented the silencing charm. Otherwise they would've had to deal with a lot of questions coming from James and Scorpius. Scorpius in particular. He was too smart and too curious for his own good.

"My ass is killing me," Harry grumbled. He exited the bedroom, placing a soft kiss on Malfoy's lips as he passed by. "But it was worth it, love," he mouthed, before descending the stairs. James and Scorpius were sitting at the kitchen table kicking each other under the table in an ongoing battle of who was better than the other.

"Hi, boys. Are you ready for the big day?" They both froze, feeling busted. Scorpius stuck his nose in the air.

"There's nothing to it, Dad. It's going to be amazing. I won't be a first year anymore." Scorpius threw a challenging emerald look at James, who glared at his brother. Harry made a cup of coffee to get his brain out of the sleeping modus, keeping a half eye on the boys. The oldest had inherited Malfoy's beautiful blonde hair, whereas James was stuck with Harry's black mop.

"You were a first years last year, dickhead." James snapped, kicking the blonde again under the table. Harry turned around, just as Scorpius was going to retort.

"No swearing James. Where did you pick that up?" He stirred his mug not to burn his tongue and eagerly took his first sip.

"You call dad a dickhead all the time," the raven-haired boy said, pulling an eyebrow up. Harry was baffled, unable to contradict. The boy had a point.

"Your dad also said you two were ready to go. Are you sure you got everything you need in your trunks?" He cleaned the table with a swing of his wand and turned on the tab of water to wash it up.

"Yes, dad," they responded monotonously.

"Then go get them downstairs. We're leaving in ten minutes. And don't forget the lunch I prepared for on the train." Both boys scraped their chairs over the floor and ran off. Harry was alone in the kitchen, a happy tug around his lips. He hoped James would do alright, but just like Scorpius last year, he would turn out to be just fine. As long as they didn't curse one another even before they made it to the train.

A half hour later they had made it into the subwaystation. They hurriedly passed through the barriers, dragging along two heavy trunks a cat and an owl. Some of the Muggles shot them suspicious glances, but the family just ignored them.

"We're going to be so late," Scorpius muttered. Their ride had already arrived and they lined up with the rest of the passengers to get inside.

"You're going to be just in time," Draco responded composed, squeezing the boy's shoulder softly before entering the tube.

"If dad hadn't woken up so late, we would have been there already." Harry glared at his blonde son. As a matter of fact, it was Malfoy's fault he wasn't awake. He had let him sleep, and he was the one who had kept him up all night.

"And you would've had to wait on the platform until the train leaves at 11 sharp. You'll be just in time. Your friends will have kept you a seat, okay," Draco replied, in a tone that tolerated no contradiction. Harry shared a look with Draco, a reassuring smile on the former Slytherin's face. They took their seats in the subway, heading for Kings Cross.

"I won't have any friends on the train," James sighed discouraged. Harry patted the boys hair compassionately.

"Scorpius might be bragging, but he didn't have any friends last year either. And did you know I didn't know anyone when I first sat on the train? I couldn't even do magic. But I turned out alright, didn't I? And so did Scorpius." It seemed as if James heart sank even deeper in his shoes.

"You ended up with dad. And Scorpius is a prick. I want a girl, not a boy. Will I be gay, dad?" James had a pleading look in his eyes that nearly broke Harry's heart. As much as he wanted to reprimand the raven-haired boy for insulting his brother, he merely shook his head.

"No. Not if you don't want to. But remember, you fall in love with a person, not a gender. Either way, you'll have time enough to find that out for yourself," Harry replied. His eyes met Draco's and automatically, a smile formed on Harry's lips.

"There's this hot guy in fourth year that I really fancy," Scorpius announced. Both Harry and Draco's head shot to the side.

"You're twelve, Scorpius. You shouldn't be thinking about a boyfriend." Harry responded dryly, earning a scowl from both blondes. Harry shrugged, knowing there was no way he would win this battle.

"There's no age for love. And I'm thinking he might be the one." Scorpius replied confidently. Harry lifted his eyes up to the sky. He had lost count of the owls he'd received last year, in which Scorpius wrote about having found the love of his life, for real this time. Then two weeks later, he was sat next to another boy and was positive that that guy would be his future husband.

"Just like his father," Harry muttered. They reached Kings Cross and clumsily left their seat, exiting the subway, to head for Platform 9 ¾ . Harry spotted two other students carrying along the same large trunk, accompanied by a pet. The Muggles in the station gave them wary looks, but they probably thought it was a disguise party for some holiday they hadn't heard of.

They reached the spot where they had to walk through the wall. Harry wrapped an arm around James.

"Ready?" The boy nodded, a determined look in his silver eyes. He tightened his grip on his cart before running up to the wall together. Harry remembered like it was yesterday that he had to run through that wall all by himself – fearing he would just smash against it – and was proud to be there for his two sons. When they reached the other side, Harry and James waited a few seconds for Draco and Scorpius to run through and then walked up to the train. The flaming red train barked out a cloud of smoke, a loud bell telling the students to get on the train. Perron 9 ¾ was filled with children and youngsters, saying goodbye to their family. Mothers blinked away a few tears, fathers patted the backs of their children one last time.

Harry turned around, eyeing his own family for a few heartbeats and then squatted down to hug both his boys tightly.

"I'm going to miss you. Have fun in school, you two. And don't forget to send an owl to announce which House you're in, James." Draco squatted down as well, placing a kiss on their cheeks. Scorpius quickly wiped it away, looking around to see if anyone had noticed the embarrassing kiss and to see if his friends had mounted the train already.

"We'll have to get on the train now, dad," the blonde said impatiently. Even though the blonde was annoyed, he had a point. They still had two minutes left. And the train always left on time.

"Okay, you need a hand getting the trunks inside?" Harry and Draco helped getting the boys' stuff on the train and then the engines started. Harry leaned against Draco, placing his head on his shoulders.

"Take care of each other!" Draco called after them.

"And behave yourselves! If I get any letter that you've been up to no good, I'll get you off Hogwarts instantly and send you to Durmstrang. They'll discipline little brats like you there." Harry shouted over the rumbling of the train.

"They closed down Durmstrang ages ago, dad," Scorpius retorted, quirking a blond eyebrow. Harry offered the boy an ungrateful stare.

"You be good. And send lots of letters." The two boys waved at their dads, and then disappeared into the distance.

Harry lowered his hand, tearing his gaze away from the dot in the distance and locking eyes with his husband.

"I can't believe they're that big already," Harry sighed. He linked his fingers with Draco's long slender ones.

"Yeah. I'll miss them. At least they'll be home for the holidays." Harry wrapped his arms around the blonde and leaned in to kiss him. He buried his hands in his soft locks, momentarily forgetting about his surroundings. Draco broke the kiss, mischief written in his sparkling eyes. "But we'll have lots of time for just the two of us." He wriggled his eyebrows suggestively and Harry chuckled, a hot sensation running down his spine.

"I'm still sore from yesterday, you horny bastard." Just then, he saw Hermione and Ron standing in the distance, returning from dropping of Rose and Hugo at the train. There was no way he would stay around to catch up with them. Not after the promising prospect with Draco.

"You wouldn't mind at all," Draco retorted. He hadn't spotted Harry's best friends and softly nudged him along. Hand in hand, they left Platform 9 ¾ and headed back to The Quidditch shop in Diagon Alley.
