Chapter 17

"Is there a reason why we only have one tent?" Cobra asked as he stared at the single tent at there campsite deep in the forest around. Lucy had called out Virgo a couple of minutes ago asking for punishment, before not only making a campfire. But also making a bench, and pitching one tent, with two sleeping bags, two pillows and a couple blankets. Lucy was standing alongside him now dressed in a simple light blue tank top with a white heart in the center, and blue skinny jeans alongside black boots.

"Umm... Well you see when Team Natsu camped out we all kinda used the same tent... Though it was much larger." Lucy told him as she stared at the tent alongside Cobra, before jumping as Cobra wrapped both of his arms around her pulling her into his chest. Lucy back was pressed against Cobra's chest with one of his arms wrapped around her waist while the other went from right shoulder down to her hip were her keys are, while his head was right next to her ear. Lucy could feel every breath he took, his scent of trees, and a bitter scent she could tell was poison filled her nose and she had to stop herself from taking a deep breath, while a shiver went down her spine as he whispered in a deep voice "Training time."

Lucy stumbled as she was pushed away from Cobra who made plenty of distance between them. "Training? Aren't we going to start tomorrow though?" Lucy asked as Cobra stood arms crossed, watching her. "Well you could start tomorrow if you want" Cobra said pausing as he saw Lucy's face of 'I'm going to bed then' while uncrossing his arms and shaking the thing he held in his left hand. It let out a ting noise as metal hit metal and he said "But you won't be getting your keys back if you do that."

Lucy's eyes went wide and her hands flew to her side to find her keys gone. "H-how!?"

"Grabbed 'em while you were distracted." Cobra told her while swinging the key ring around on a finger. Closing his hand into a fist he smirked and said "Come and get them if you want them." Lucy glared at him before reaching for her whip only to find it also gone. Cobra held up his right hand to show the whip sitting in his grip, a smug glint in his eye. "How am I suppose to get my keys back if you have my whip!?" Lucy cried while glaring at Cobra.

"Figure it out Blondie."

"Jerk.." Lucy mumbled before trying to think of a way to get her keys and whip back from Cobra without being hurt too badly. Finally deciding that she would pretend to do a straight forward attack then just do a surprise attack. Launching forward she ran towards Cobra, her fist acting like it was going towards his face. He started to dodge and Lucy lashed out with a quick kick instead of her fist. She felt two hands on her leg suddenly, then she was spinning and being slammed kind of gently, but mostly hard against the ground. Blinking she glared up at him, before climbing back to her feet and attacking again, not noticing that Cobra was watching her every move.

She attacks to much like her ex-team. She's attacking like she's going to have her powerhouse team backing her up with every attack. Cobra thought, as he caught Lucy's fist, grabbed her arm twisting it around her back, being careful that it was a little painful but not so much that it would actually hurt her. He held her like that even when she tried to kick backwards at him trying to break free of his grip. "Listen up Blondie." Cobra said coldly already knowing that she needed to hear the truth "I could kill you right here, without even a second glance, without breaking a sweat, without barley noticing." Cobra told her his other hand going up and wrapping around her neck with a slight grip.

He felt her freeze up and smelled slight terror coming from her, while her heart sped up before starting to go back to calm, which slightly worried him. "The way you fight is going to get you killed, you don't have a team of powerhouses anymore, you left them behind. Stop acting like you can just attack, and yes you do plan it out well, but you need to stop acting like even when you plan it out that it's just going to work." He unwrapped his hand from her neck before shoving her away and untwisting her arm, but not letting go.

Lucy stared at him as he held her arm tightly before she said slowly "Your right my attacks do need work, and I do need to learn that I don't have my old team with me. But I do have my spirits and you in a way Cobra, and my plan worked out just fine. You should really watch your pockets more often." Lucy held up the hand that wasn't captured in his grip and showed her key ring hanging there, keys seemed to gleam slightly and Cobra couldn't help but feel that they were taunting and laughing him.

"Now just got to get my whip back right?" Lucy said grinning before pulling two of her golden keys and saying "Open gates of the Golden Bull Taurus! The Scorpion Scorpio!" Lucy could feel the gates open as the her magic flowed to them, helping and pulling them through their gates into Earthland. Two things of golden sparks flared besides her into the forms of Taurus and Scorpio, "We are!" Scorpio said grinning we he saw Lucy standing tall holding her keys her eyes determined to get her whip back from Cobra and show what her and her friend, her family can do. "Mooo! You are looking as good as every Lucy!"

Lucy smiled hearing her spirits before saying "Use your combo attack guys!" Lucy hooked her keys onto her belt once more, and moved slightly to the side of her spirits, waiting to see if her plan would work. Scorpio dropped onto all fours his tail going up and sending went flying out filling the area up, while Taurus started using his axe to wrap the sand around it, into a large ball.

Cobra was moving quickly towards them, his eye closed using his other senses as he went throw the small sand storm that had started to come out. He dodged towards the right as a large ball of sand was sent right were he had once been. Before blast of sand started coming out him quickly, he really hated how it seemed he wasn't able to read any spirits mind, or at least none of Lucy's spirits. He heard a heartbeat to his left and dodged it while lashing out with quick hands and hitting the person, that he could tell was Lucy. He dropped onto her holding her down, before listening as she gave a weird giggle that sounded more like a child then anything. He opened his eye and stared down before another giggle came from her this time seeming to sound like two, and he felt his eye go wide as he thought Gemini! He twisted around ready to find the real Lucy when the sand storm died and he was tackled off of the spirit.

He and the person who tackled him rolled before he was on the ground hands pinned under Lucy's knees. Her whip out of his pocket and being held in her hand, she looked proud and was covered from head to toe in sand, that hide her scent and with how it had been blowing had made it heard for him to hear her. "I did it!" Lucy yelled and pumped her fist in the air, before she let out a yelp as she was flipped over, and held down by Cobra, her whip being grabbed and held tightly in one of his hands.

"Are you sure about that Blonde?" Cobra asked his one eye seeming to glint in amusement for a moment before he let out an "Oof!" as she managed to bring up a knee and slam it into his chest knocking the wind out of him, before managing to use both knees and shove him off. She grabbed her whip and yanked it away holding it tightly before placing it on her belt and crossing her arms while saying "Yeah, I am sure about it."

Cobra shook his head, sand flying out of his hair, before saying "You did good Blondie... Kinda. You still won't be able to hold your own against a dragon slayer or a powerful mage without any spirits anytime soon."

"But..?"

"But, you'll get there sooner or later. Now go run ten laps, while I take a bath in the pond."

"What? What about sleep, relaxing!"

"I'm not letting you sleep anywhere near me wearing all that sand, and since I'm your trainer, you'll be doing as I say. Now getting running ten laps from here to the railroad tracks over there." Cobra said pointing towards the ones that were farther away from the town, he didn't want Natsu somehow catching her scent after all. Lucy followed his hand and gaped before saying "I can't do that! I'll die."

"Am I hearing that you want me to add more laps to it?"

"No!"

"Then you should get moving, if you want to be able to get a bath and eat before bed." Cobra said as he grabbed his bag that was now sitting in front of their tent besides Lucy's bag. He heard Lucy gave a sigh of frustration before she started moving and stopped as he yelled "Get a spirit out and have them run with you! You need to work on holding spirits out more!" Lucy didn't answer just grabbed her keys and started looking through them as she ran before finally choosing one and holding it out while saying "Open gate of the Maiden Virgo!"

"Punishment Princess?" Virgo asked as she appeared alongside Lucy.

"No, punishment Virgo. Will you run with me?" Lucy asked her.

"Of course Princess." Virgo answered and Cobra listened for a moment to the sound of both of them running alongside each other before disappearing into the trees towards the small pond he had seen earlier.

Lucy let out a soft moan as her sore muscles hit the lack warm water. It was getting colder, but the water was still slightly warm from the sun and felt amazing on her sore muscles. She laid there for a moment she relaxing into the water before breathing in and ducking under the water, her eyes opening slightly and looking into the darkness, Cobra had been in here earlier and had already told her that there wasn't any creatures besides fish, but knowing Lucy's luck a monster would appear. Seconds past before she came back up and shook some water out of her head before reaching for the shampoo Virgo had given her in her bag for her hair.

Putting it in her hair she didn't even notice the flash of fire or the fact that the water had started heating up before two hands were helping her wash her hair. The scream that left her mouth sounded like someone was trying to murder her.

Cobra had been eating the last of the meal, Lucy had already eaten her part and the rest was for him, which was over half the pot. His hearing was toned to listen to Lucy's heartbeat, while his sense of smell was looking for any new scent that drifted near him or Lucy. He found himself getting nervous not even a couple minutes later, not liking how far Lucy was from him. He may need to move the camp, closer to the pond, not caring that they were already in a perfect training space. Cobra had just swallowed the last of the soup and had placed the bowl back into the bag, Lucy had told him Virgo would grab it later, when he heard the scream that pierced through the night.

His body seemed to freeze for barley half a second before he was gone, from the camp into the trees shooting straight for the pond. A snarl on his face, poison seeping from his mouth, purple and white scales starting to appear under his clothes. A roar was already building up in his throat as he burst out of the trees to see, a naked Lucy, and two idiots.

So I had a lot of reviews asking me if I was going to continue this, to update soon, and such. Truthfully? I was thinking about just quitting this and giving it to someone else, because I felt as if I done with Fairy Tail. I mean I hadn't even read the manga updates on manga panda for almost two months! Then I was at my local library and I decided to reread the first couple volumes for old times sack before I gave you guys half this chapter and said I was done. ButI found myself not wanting to give up and so I'm going to continue this, slowly but I will.

Updates may be long between, but I swear I will finish this! (Also just realized I've been working on this for over a year!)

I also would like to apologize for the wait and also the fact that I couldn't squeeze in what the key was.
