Chapter 24
Tucker looked down at his hands in his lap as he sat uncomfortable on the sofa. A hand on his shoulder drew him to Anita, sitting next to him. He noticed Valerie sitting next to her, having been informed a few minutes after the fact. His eyes drew over to Dani sprawled out on the side chair and Jazz across the coffee table.
Linda headed down the stairs with her husband's skinny frame following behind.
Tucker stood up, almost desperate for news.
"A few broken ribs, but nothing that won't heal in a day or two with his fast recovery time." Linda getting Tucker to release the breath he'd been holding.
"Can we see him?" Sam asked, appearing in the kitchen doorway.
"In a bit. His parents wanted to talk to him." Robert said, a ghost of a smile playing on his face.
-.-.-.-
"Danny-" Jack started, his eyes traveling around his son's room as he realized what he needed to say. An elbow to his side got his eyes back to his son on the bed. "I'm sorry."
"Thanks Dad." Danny smiled up at the man.
"You know this means we're going to have to figure out a new list of rules because who knows how you didn't come home past curfew more then you did." Maddie realized.
"Good, you have no idea how many nights I'd see ten o'clock coming up and already knew I was going to be late." Danny admitted. "I'm glad everything's good now."
"Ghost, boy, or something in-between, I should've known you were still our son." Jack admitted, leaning over to put a hand on Danny's shoulder. "I'm proud of what you've done for this town."
"And the Fenton Purifier?" Danny asked, knowing it's intended purpose.
"It's shown its use, but we'll keep it in the vault." Maddie admitted. "That's another thing we should do. Make sure all our equipment knows your ecto-signature so it can't be used against you."
"That'd be nice." Danny smiled as he leaned back into his pillows.
"We'll let you get some rest." Maddie said, nodding her head from her husband to the doorway.
Danny watched as the two walked out of his room and smiled before closing his eyes.
The End
AN: There is plans for another story to take place after this one (I was hoping to just keep the story going but I haven't gotten as far as I'd like with that one; hence why the ending feels like it's not totally there, sorry), as well as Dismal Swamp that happens in the summer after the Reality Gauntlet thing that explains more about Linda and Robert Fenton. Hopefully I'll get somewhere with that one soon….
