A/N: Who here reads Karley's reviews of Ninja Turtles on tumblr?
…If you don't, I'll have the link in my profile. Anyway, when she reviewed "Vengeance is Mine", she brought up Mirage #10.
Stephanie: For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a comic from the original series that featured—
If you've ever seen "The Shredder Strikes Back" (parts one and two) from the 2k3 show, that's basically what it is.
Stephanie: *eye roll* We'll provide links for that as well in case you haven't seen that, either.
So this is based off of it, but it's off-canon—especially since I took an idea my friend had. Obviously I don't own it.
"I will have my revenge."
Those words echoed through Master Splinter's mind as he held his son closer to himself. Of all the things to have done…This truly was the lowest…
"Are you alright, Master Splinter?" Donnie asked, then flinched at the stupidity of the question. Of course he wasn't alright.
Then again, none of them were…That last attack from Shredder would take a while to recover from. Some of them more than others, and the emotional wounds would last a lifetime—nothing would ever remove the image of Shredder holding his lifeless brother…dangling over the side of the building…All of them helpless to save him…
Yep, definitely gonna be in his nightmares for a while.
Donnie jumped and jerked his head up when he felt an arm wrap around his shoulders, and he was surprised to see it was Raph—Raph never did the comforting thing, save for when it was highly necessary.
Guess this counted.
Meanwhile, Raph couldn't take his gaze off of Master Splinter. More specifically, he couldn't take his gaze off his brother in Master Splinter's arms.
He was the protector of the family, but he failed that. And his brother was the one who paid the price.
How could he have been so stupid? They knew The Foot was on the prowl, and they knew it was dangerous to go out, let alone on their own. Yet he allowed his brother to go out and get beat half to death!
He should've been there…Instead, he was at home, unconcerned.
"We're almost there."
Leo's words fell on deaf ears while he observed his baby brother. This was his fault. He had pushed The Shredder. He had caused Karai to mutate. He had made The Shredder's vendetta against them even worse.
He caused his littlest brother to almost die.
"…I'm sorry."
A/N: You know what sucks about writing without internet? You can't double check facts—like Leo claiming he caused Karai to mutate. *shrugs* Oh well. And funness: it's possible that this will happen in the 2k12 show! Well…minus Mikey being near death…
Stephanie: And we will be having a little contest on our writing tumblr…
And this story is complete! Don't flood my email with follows for it! Anyway, love y'all!
