AN: It's crazy how fast time has flown. 2014 is almost over! Anyway, this idea had been floating around in my head for a while and I thought, sure, why not? It actually turned out differently than how I wanted it to but hey, I'm not complaining! Enjoy this New Year special chapter (even though it's not even close to new years yet)!

PS. The song I had in mind for Makoto was the opening song of the anime ;) lol! *isshot*

"Makoto's doing what?"

"He's singing."

"I didn't know Makoto could sing."

"Me neither."

It was New Years Eve and Rin and Miyuki were in Japan to celebrate it with their friends in Tokyo.

"Ah, there's Haru."

Haru waved when he saw Miyuki and Rin; he was in charge of picking them up from the airport.

"Haru! It's good to see you!"

Haru patted Miyuki's shoulder as she hugged him and he coolly nodded at Rin.

"Everyone's waiting at the University."

"Are Nagisa, Gou, and Rei here, too?"

"Nitori, Sousuke, and Momo came, too; Nagisa invited them."

Rin and Miyuki smiled at each other,

"Well, this is going to be one big happy reunion."

The university's campus was very wide but Haru easily navigated through the area. The auditorium sat in the middle of campus and people were filing in to find seats.

"Rinrin! Miyuki!"

Nagisa pounced on them and hugged them tightly while everyone else gathered around.

"Rin-senpai! You've grown so much!"

Rin chuckled and patted Nitori and Momo's heads before reaching out to hug Gou.

"Wow, everyone seems taller and more mature! Even you, Sousuke."

"Ah, thanks, Miyuki."

"We should probably go inside and get seats before it's too late." Rei suggested.

Everyone agreed and slowly headed into the auditorium.

Luckily, Haru already had a row of seats saved for them towards the stage. Rin took off his jacket and draped it over Miyuki's legs when they sat down and she gave him a questioning look.

"You'll get cold and complain so I'm acting first." He explained.

Miyuki rolled her eyes and thanked him with a kiss. The lights dimmed, signaling the start of the talent show.

The opening act was a skit by the university's theater club, followed a cool demonstration by the martial arts club and a symphonic piece by the music club. Rei flipped through the program and tapped Haru's shoulder.

"When is Makoto-senpai performing?"

Haru glanced down at his phone,

"Makoto said it should be after this one."

Sure enough, after the music club cleared their chairs and music stands, Makoto and his band came out to set up their things. The drums were quickly assembled, the guitars plugged in and amps turned up, and the mics were turned on. Everyone held their breath in anticipation.

The song began with a booming note and everyone was taken by surprise. It wasn't long before the entire auditorium was cheering and screaming like they were at a rock concert. Makoto's voice was smooth yet husky and he sang with a rough voice at some parts of the song. When the song ended with a thundering climax, the audience roared with applause and demands for an encore. Needless to say, by the end of the talent show, Makoto and his band won the first place trophy and bragging rights.

Makoto found the group after the talent show and everyone congratulated him on his win and his performance.

"You were amazing, Makoto-senpai! I believe that to be one of your most beautiful moments!"

"I never knew you could sing, Makoto! I want to hear more!"

Makoto blushed from hearing all the praise; he wasn't used to hearing such nice things. He greeted Rin and Miyuki and suggested that they all go out for dinner to celebrate their return to Japan. Everyone agreed and decided to go out to an okonomiyaki restaurant.

After dinner, everyone went their separate ways. Makoto and Haru returned to their apartment with Rei and Nagisa while Sousuke took Nitori and Momo to his apartment. Rin and Miyuki walked Gou to her hotel before they went out on a walk in a nearby park.

Hand in hand, Miyuki nudged Rin's arm and he looked at her.

"Remember when you first kissed me?"

"How could I forget? I planned it for weeks."

Miyuki laughed and Rin smiled at her.

"I can't believe it's been two years since we've been together. We graduated high school, moved to Australia for university, and now we're back in Japan. We've definitely come a long way."

"Yeah...we sure have."

They came to a fountain and sat down on the rim.

"Rin?"

"Hm?"

"I'm glad I experienced everything with you. I'm glad you're my boyfriend. If I was given a chance to redo everything, I wouldn't."

Rin sighed and looked away.

"I would." He said softly.

"Why's that?" Rin chuckled when Miyuki frowned slightly with worry, "Don't laugh! I want to know why!"

"Because I wouldn't want to be your boyfriend."

Miyuki's heart dropped, "You...wouldn't?"

"No. I would rather go through it again as your fiancé."

Miyuki's eyes widened in surprise.

"Fiancé?" She asked.

Miyuki gasped when everyone jumped out from the bushes and trees with signs in their hands.

Gou had a sign that said REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD MARRY MATSUOKA RIN (my brother with beautiful muscles!"

Makoto's sign said, "Rin is a hard worker."

Haru's sign said, "He's good at cooking."

Nagisa's sign said, "He secretly wants to be good at everything."

Rei's sign said, "Rin-senpai has a beautiful sense of style in both athletics and fashion."

Momo's sign said, "Rin-senpai has a cute sister so he should have a cute wife."

Nitori's sign said, "Rin-senpai is inspiring and cool."

Sousuke's sign said, "Marry Rin because he wants to marry you."

Miyuki laughed and playfully smacked Rin's arm.

"This is more of a parade to help inflate your ego even more!"

Rin chuckled and he took Miyuki's hands into his.

"I love you, Miyuki. We've gone through a lot but at the end of the day, you're the one who's there with arms open and ready to love me no matter what."

Miyuki felt her cheeks burning when Rin pulled out a ring box from his pocket and handed it to her.

"Open it," he said softly.

Heart pounding, Miyuki opened it but she was disappointed when the box was empty. No ring. She looked up at Rin just in time to see him take her left hand and slip a beautiful diamond ring onto her ring finger.

"Will you marry me, Miyuki?"

Tears instantly rolled down Miyuki's cheeks and she cried as she hugged Rin, nearly knocking him into the fountain.

"Yes!" She cried, "Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Everyone cheered as Rin laughed and kissed Miyuki's fingers before kissing her deeply. Miyuki laughed when he pulled away; he was crying, too.

"Oh, Rin, what am I going to do with you?"

"You're going to marry me, that's what."

Miyuki laughed and she kissed him again as fireworks shot into the sky, announcing the end of the old and welcoming the new year.
