"Hey, guys!" Ruby said as she and Weiss walked over to a table where Blake, Yang, Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora sat.

It had been five years Ruby and Weiss married each other, and, in that time, they had all graduated college, Jaune and Pyrrha had married, and Weiss had finally taken over the Schnee company. Ruby and Weiss had grown even closer in that time, and all eight members of the group had agreed to meet every year to catch up, and that had brought them here.

"Almost thought you guys weren't going to make it," Yang laughed.

"Ha ha," Weiss replied, rolling her eyes as she sat down. "Well, at any rate, before we get started, Ruby and I have an announcement to make."

All six other members of the group turned to face Ruby and Weiss. Weiss turned to Ruby and gave her a smile and a nod.

"I'm pregnant!" Ruby said with a huge grin.

"No way," Yang said with a look of shock.

Ruby replied with a nod. "Yep. Just got it confirmed a couple days ago."

"Congratulations," Blake said politely. "Though, if you don't mind me asking, how exactly did you two do it?"

"Well, you remember all of that funding the Schnee Energy Company has been pouring into reproductive medicine recently?" Weiss asked, to which Blake nodded. "Well, suffice to say it wasn't entirely altruistic."

Blake chuckled "Well, at any rate, congratulations, you two."

"So, what, you guys used cloning?" Jaune asked.

"No," Weiss said with a sigh. "Our child does have a combination of both Ruby's and my DNA, but in no specific combination, so it's as if we did it the... traditional manner."

"Best of luck you two," Pyrrha said with a smile. "I get the feeling you will be great mothers."

"Okay," the ultrasound technician said, looking at the small screen mounted on the wall. "The image should be coming up about... now."

The screen changed, showing a grainy black-and-white image of the inside of Ruby's body. Both Ruby and Weiss looked at the image, trying to make sense of it.

"I don't really see a whole lot," Ruby said finally.

"Umm... If you'll excuse me for a second," the tech said as she walked over to the door.

"Is something wrong?" Weiss asked worriedly.

"I'll just be a minute," the tech replied with a small smile.

Weiss and Ruby stared at each other.

"I hope everything's okay," Ruby said.

"I... I'm sure everything is just fine," Weiss replied, almost as if she were trying to convince herself.

The tech reentered the room, followed closely by a doctor.

"Hmm..." the doctor hummed looking at the image as Weiss gripped Ruby's hand. "I see." He turned to face Ruby and Weiss. "Well, Miss Schnee, Miss Rose, it seems double congratulations are in order."

"Huh?" Ruby asked.

"You're going to have twins," the doctor replied with a smile.

"What?" Weiss asked. "How?"

"Unsure. Could be some imperfections in the process you used," the doctor replied. "Regardless, congratulations. We'll give you two a moment alone."

With that, that doctor and tech left the room, closing the door behind them.

"So, twins," Ruby said.

"Are you going to be alright Ruby?" Weiss asked, concern showing in her eyes.

Ruby laughed. "Oh, don't worry about me Weiss. I'll be totally fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah," Ruby replied, giving Weiss a smile. "Don't worry. I'll be totally fine."

"Weiss," Ruby moaned.

Weiss' eyes fluttered open as she looked at her wife. "What is it Ruby," she muttered tiredly.

"I'm hungry, Weiss," Ruby moaned again.

Weiss sighed as she sat up in the bed. "And what do you want to eat?"

Ruby thought for a second. "I want a chocolate, peanut-butter, and asparagus cookie," she said tiredly.

"I'll be right back," Weiss said.

Weiss stood from the bed and walked down the stairs of the couple's house. Eventually, she found her way to the kitchen and walked over to the cupboard. Opening the door, she looked around until she found a plastic bin labeled For Emergencies Only.

Yeah, I'd say this qualifies, she thought.

Weiss grabbed a cookie from the container, and brought it back up to her and Ruby's bedroom.

"We were out of chocolate, peanut-butter, and asparagus cookies," Weis said, "so I brought you a chocolate chip one instead."

"Mmm..." Ruby hummed as she took a bite. "You're the best Weiss..." With that Ruby, fell back asleep, mashing the half-eaten cookie against her face.

Weiss silently chuckled to herself.

Adorable as ever, she thought.

Weiss climbed back into her bed and wrapped her arms around Ruby's ever-expanding body as she drifted off to sleep herself with a gentle smile.

"Umm... Weiss?" Ruby panted as she sat up suddenly in the couple's bed. "We uh... We've got a problem!"

"What is it Ruby?" Weiss said as she rolled her eyes and looked over ot her wife before it dawned on her what Ruby was referring to. "I see. Come on, we have no time to waste."

Weiss draped Ruby's arm over her shoulder and helped her down the stairs and out to the couple's car. By the time they made it to the car, Ruby's breathing had sped up, causing Weiss to worry.

"Don't... Don't worry Weiss," Ruby said as she laughed slightly between breaths. "I'll... I'll be totally... totally fine."

Weiss quickly sped the car through the streets of Vale, listening to her wife's labored breaths.

"Don't worry, Ruby," Weiss said, taking one hand off of the wheel and gripping Ruby's. "We'll be there soon."

"No... No worries Weiss," Ruby replied, laughing nervously between breaths. "Totally fine."

Finally, after several more grueling minutes of driving, they finally pulled up outside of the hospital. Weiss simply pulled her car up to the entrance and sprinted over to Ruby's door, quickly helping her out of the car and into the building. Almost the moment they were inside, the receptionist called put out a call over the intercom and a doctor came in with several nurses, who helped Ruby onto a gurney.

"Miss Schnee, I'm going to have to ask you to remain in the waiting room," the doctor said to Weiss.

"What? Why?" Weiss demanded.

"Rules," the doctor replied hurriedly. "You'll be able to see her again when we're finished."

Weiss turned around and slowly walked back into the waiting room. She sat down in a chair and waited.

"Excuse me, Miss Schnee?" the doctor said, waking Weiss from her nap.

Weiss' eyes fluttered open, and she turned to look at the doctor. "Yes?"

He smiled. "Congratulations," he said. "You and Miss Rose are officially mothers."

"Can I see her now?" Weiss asked, starting to stand up.

"Of course."

Weiss followed the doctor through the halls until they stopped out side of a door. Weiss gingerly pushed it open, revealing Ruby laying on the bed, smiling absently as she gazed at the two bundles she held up to her chest.

Ruby glanced up at Weiss. "Hey there," she said tiredly.

"Are you okay Ruby?" Weiss asked as she pulled a chair next to the bed.

"I'm doing great," Ruby replied, smiling.

Weiss smiled as she looked at her wife. "So, what should we name them?" she asked.

"How about Diamond and Summer?" Ruby asked.

"Sounds good," Weiss replied, placing her head on Ruby's shoulder.

Both women remained there for several minutes

"So, what happens now?" Ruby asked.

"I'm not sure," Weiss replied. "But, whatever comes, we'll face it together."

Weiss pulled the car into the driveway and turned it off with a sigh. She looked out of the windshield to the house, gazing at the illuminated kitchen. Inside, she saw her wife of twelve years standing at the stove, laughing as she glanced down. Suddenly, a young girl with long, white hair climbed up Ruby's back, and wrapped her arms around her neck, causing Ruby to laugh even harder she carried the girl around the kitchen. Weiss chuckled to herself as she climbed out of the car and walked up to the front door.

"Hello girls," Weiss called as she pulled the door open.

"Hey, Weiss," a still laughing Ruby replied.

"Mommy!" a pair of younger voices shouted as a girl with long, shimmering, white hair and gleaming silver eyes ran into the room

"Hey, Diamond," Weiss said, laughing. "Summer, get off of your mom so she can cook dinner."

"Awww," Summer said.

"Summer Rose," Weiss scolded.

"Fine," Summer replied with a pout.

"Why don't you two go play outside?" Ruby offered.

"Okay mom!" Diamond and Summer said at the same time.

Ruby walked into the entrance way to watch as the two young girls ran outside and leaned against Weiss' shoulder.

"I love you Weiss," Ruby whispered.

"I love you too, Ruby," Weiss replied, closing her eyes with a smile.

A/N: And that's the end of A Lone White Rose! It's been one heck of a ride. You folks are an awesome audience, and are the reason this thing got to last as long as it did. Honestly, it's really still kind of hard to believe how successful this thing is. Before I go, however, I do have a few things for you fine folks.

First of all, I have another story announcement! After The Rose of Victory, my Ruby x Pyrrha short, finishes, I have yet another White Rose story that I'll be doing, called Rose's Wings. In this story, Ruby is a dragon, and Weiss is going to be a Dragon Rider. I'm not really able to give you guys too much more information than that without spoilers, but just trust when I say it'll work!

Next up, for those of you who also read The Path We Walk, the poll for airships vs. sea-based ships is still up on my profile. It's still a close race, so go vote to decide which you want! The poll will be closed when I post the next chapter of Path We Walk, so make sure you vote before then!

I think that's all from me for today! Up next we have the fifth chapter of Rose Guardian, so I'll see you all then!
