Lost in the Lie

'Little do you know-'

Second Lie: I don't think about It

OoOoO

"You have a photo shoot scheduled after your dance practice with Gray is over," Erza informed as they- herself, Lucy and Nashi- drove to Lucy's dance studio in a relaxed pace just at the speed limit, Erza prided herself with their early arrival. "The modeling shouldn't take too long however they always seemed to drag on the shoot far longer than scheduled," she rolled her eyes and sipped at her drink when they came to a stoplight, "I'll try to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible-"

"Erza you already do your best," Lucy smiled reassuringly over at her, "It isn't your fault that they don't know how to organize these events."

"Yes but I know you like your alone time with Nashi-"

"And I'll still get that, besides-" Lucy looked back at her daughter, who was quietly watching her 'Dora the Explorer' on the mini TV in the back, "-Gray had promised to take us out later for food."

"Now was this willingly or more like a guilt trip from your angel of a daughter?" Erza laughed, gently pushing on the petal and smoothly driving past a rather slow driver that she questioned whether they should have their licenses or not.

"I have no Idea what you are implying about my dear daughter Erza," Lucy grinned cheekily-ignoring her managers eye roll- and looked back at Nashi, "Right, sweetie?" She only received a distracted nod from the young girl and she laughed, Lucy shouldn't have expected much of a reply anyway.

"Sure, sure." Erza shook her head, "How long is your practice going to be?" Lucy shrugged her shoulders lamely, asking when her modeling was scheduled for. "Around Five O'clock."

"Then we should be done for around Four-Thirty, is that alright?" Erza sighed and nodded,

"I don't get in between your dance practice Lucy, whatever time is best for you and Gray is when I will pick you up." At times like these Lucy really appreciated her manager, she was extremely thankful the woman had offered to work with her-because really, she couldn't think of anyone who was more understanding than her and as good at her job as Erza is.

"Four-Thirty it is then." Lucy thanked Erza briefly before closing the door to the car after the vehicle had parked outside the studio and helped a whining Nashi out of her seat. She hurried into the studio, sending a brief greeting to the receptionist who smiled politely in return and continued her phone conversation that Lucy could just barely understand was about a new dancer before she pulled Nashi into their usual room.

Lucy scoffed when she saw Gray still hadn't arrived, late as per usual. She turned to look at her daughter, the little girl seemingly quite uninterested with what was happening around her, Lucy figured it wasn't all that special anymore considering she has been coming with her for about a year and a half now. Sighing she bent down in front of her, her tone turning gentle and her face relaxing into a small smile, "Do you want to watch Mama dance or do you want to watch Dora on my phone?"

Nashi didn't even have to speak, the smile said enough and with a staged pout she pulled out her phone from her bag and pulled Dora up for her before handing her daughter her phone and guiding her to the bench off to the side. Lucy started up the stereo that was left in the studio for dancers, quickly glancing at Nashi and turning away when she saw that she wasn't bothered by the volume and began warming up.

Her muscles burned the more she moved and stretched and despite the uncomfortable feeling, Lucy always found herself enjoying it. Her body seemed to feel more comfortable when she was pushing it and loosening her muscles that had grown stiff over the past few days, and although the reality was short Lucy felt like she hadn't been able to dance in so long.

"Sorry I'm late Luce!" She looked at Gray from between her legs, her vision a little blurry from the burn at the back of her legs. Lucy let an amused smile grow on her face as she watched her dance partner hastily throw off his jacket and his bag before patting her daughters head and racing over toward her. Standing straight now, she crossed her arms over her chest and sighed, looking away from the panting male.

"Sure you are," She teased lightly, "I think you just don't want to spend time with Nashi and I and would rather be with your other hot-shot co-stars." He laughed and shoved her lightly to the side, quickly warming up before changing the song so they could begin practicing.

Lucy had always been fascinated by the way Gray had danced, she found him to be the best partner she's ever had in her many years of dance experience. Her other partners-while very skilled, lacked the drive and emotion in their performance, that of which Gray held and did so fantastically throughout his performances. Even despite his busy schedule with filming for TV series and the occasional movie he still worked extremely hard-she admired him for that.

Perhaps it was the way his face expressed the feeling of his movements and the song so fluently that always made her eyes drawn to him during his solo performances or when he occasionally had a group performance. His agile steps that were always taken with such care when he danced, the emotional look in his eyes and the emotion his face portrayed-she never really could get over it, everything was so well done. Lucy aimed to reach the level of experience Gray held when he danced.

Gray often said that she did, and was better then what he ever could be and yet she didn't believe him while his steps were fluid and timed hers would sometimes fall off beat and when the song shone through his face, it only showed through her movements and the slightly off-putting expression she would get when she would mouth to the words. She was getting better however, her movements weren't forgotten as often and her face didn't look so stiff when she danced-she had received numerous complements on her improvement from the owner of the studio.

Her partner's hands gripped her waist as he lifted her and quickly allowed her to tumble out of his arms and over his shoulder, his eyes gazing into her own as she dropped to the floor and spun away from him and quickly began the small choreography that required absolute synchronization and with her heart beating against her chest she jumped onto his bent leg, his hands holding her own, his arms almost providing the back of a chair and briefly her face pressed closely to his cheek before jumping in front of him, his hand that wasn't holding her own spread flat against her back and gently encouraged her to roll her front into an arch.

Lucy could confidently say that this was her favorite duet she has done with anyone, this one dance she could put all of her emotions to, the song was loud and clear and reached her heart with so much power that she would shake. Her body moved to the gently strum of the guitar and her face reflecting a story of her own. The dance was the most intimate she has ever done before and although she had been uncomfortable with it in the beginning Lucy couldn't find herself to care any longer, this was her personal dance.

Perhaps that was why she couldn't control the emotions that raged within her whenever she danced to it.

Her and Gray refrained from too many of the intimate actions as they rolled in front of each other on the floor, Nashi didn't need to see anything and even if she was distracted with Dora Lucy knew her daughter would end up seeing it and questioning it later. The song came to an end as Gray took back his pullover and Lucy fell to the floor. Out of breath as she was, she smiled when Gray walked over to her to pull her up with a steady arm.

She gulped down her water, glancing at the time as she did, they didn't have much longer until Erza came to pick her and Nashi up and she still needed to head to the showers. "That was really god Lucy," Gray smiled proudly at her, "You've gotten stronger since the last time we practiced together." She rolled her eyes at the compliment.

"Gray it's only been a week," She pointed out and he shrugged, wiping the sweat away with his shirt.

"You've still improved, are you excited for when we perform this?" She shrugged; they still had another month to work on it so there was plenty of room for improvement, even so, the month of preparation didn't calm her nervousness towards performing in front of the judges. They would practice however, and she wanted to make this perfect so she wouldn't let her wavering confidence ruin it for the both of them. Gray chuckled after a moment of her silence and patted her head, "We'll do fine and you won't mess up."

"How do you know that?" He seemed so confident when he said it, like he had gained what she had lost in terms of her faith in her dancing. He shrugged, packing his bag at a relaxed pace-not bother by how much time they had spent in the studio despite the brief feeling it held.

"I just do," he glanced at her and grinned, "and it's because I have the best partner a dancer could ask for."

"I should be the one saying that in all honesty," She laughed and grabbed her towel and necessities to bring to the shower room, "You do a lot for me including being there for when Nashi or I need you." He frowned slightly,

"You don't need to thank me for that Lucy," he shook his head, refusing to accept her gratefulness. "I care for you and your daughter a lot, I like being able to help you through things when you need them and really, I don't mind." Lord she was lucky to have people like Erza and Gray in her life.

"You're a good friend Gray." She smiled and he nodded, zipping up his bag before sitting beside Nashi and telling Lucy to go wash up while he watched her until Erza came. Lucy smiled gratefully, loving the way Nashi laughed with her partner before leaving to clean herself up.

OoOoO

By the end of her photo shoot Lucy could barely keep her eyes open and Nashi had long since fallen asleep in her arms. The time was already nearing 10 at night and despite her tiredness she was frustrated and annoyed with everything at the moment. She was only supposed to stop by quickly, model with Sting Eucliffe (Or asshole of the day), a well-known boxer, and leave to go out with Gray as they had previously scheduled. However it seemed fate was against her plans as there were complications with their wardrobe, hers being too tight around the bust and Sting's being too small to fit around the muscle around his arms. Then the cameraman had left for a long period of time while wardrobe was being fixed, followed by the discovery that Sting was not a very photogenic person.

Although all that had frustrated her, Lucy was more annoyed with the fact that when she wanted to relax with Nashi during their break, Sting wouldn't stop bothering her. Pick-up lines that were way too cheesy and odd flew out of his mouth, he stared at her which made her uncomfortable and spoke so loudly that Nashi had trouble falling asleep when she began to feel unwell from staying up past her bedtime. She was just thankful she didn't have school for another two weeks.

Erza had immediately apologized for all the misfortune that unexpectedly made their schedule longer and ended up with Lucy having to cancel her meal with her daughter and Gray but she only waved the manager off. It wasn't her fault these people didn't do things properly. Her measurements had been done prior to the date of the shoot and the cameraman should have been close by so that they could quickly get him when everything was prepared. As for Sting, well he should have just had tape strapped over his mouth.

"Get some sleep now," Erza told her as they continued to drive down the dark highway, the headlights and the moon the only source of light they had to see the road, "You have an early meet-up tomorrow at seven to start off We Got Married." She doubted she was going to get much sleep anyway-her mind wouldn't let her sleep with the knowledge of her schedule that started tomorrow. Perhaps she should have refused the offer when she had the chance.

"I'll try…"

"Good, I'll wake you up when we arrive at your place." She only nodded, putting headphones in and listening to the soft voice that haunts her memories as she gazed at the never-ending stars in the sky.

"I love listening to your voice before I go to sleep," she smiled and blinked tiredly up at the moon-listening to her boyfriend's gentle voice. His light laughed travelled through the phone and she turned her eyes away from her window and to the boy on her screen who was sat on his bed with a guitar on his lap. "Very soothing."

"I'm glad that I can help you feel better," he smiled and Lucy couldn't help but think he looked cute with the small blush that adorned his face. He pushed his glasses further up his nose and he simply stared at her, his eyes shining with warmth that made her stomach do flips. "Not so scared when I'm here are you?"

"No, it actually makes me feel safe when I'm talking to or just listening to you play." She stated, blinking blearily at her screen and she just barely registered his laugh and the slight movement of his lips through her half-lidded eyes.

The light form her phone was beginning to become too bright for her blurry eyes and she squinted gently against it, her nose scrunching up slightly in annoyance but didn't make an effort to move and shut it off. "You're tired." He knew and she didn't bother to disagree, only letting out a small hum of agreement and he laughed again, his voice lowering slightly so as not to accidently stir her as she began to drift off. "You look really cute right now."

"Mmm-no… I don't." She mumbled and barely saw his move the guitar from his lap so he could lean his elbow on his leg and rest his chin on his hand before she closed her eyes.

"It's true," he told her, "you even look prettier when you don't have make-up on like now." She would say otherwise but her efforts were protest was beginning to dwindle as she began to feel herself drifting. "Your pale skin, pink lips and the way your face is squished against your pillow makes you look so irresistible- even the way your mouth parts slightly." His laugh sounded distant and his words were pacing above her head to the point where she could no longer see the light from her phone behind her eyelids and her boyfriend's voice had only turned to a rumble in her ears. "I adore everything about you."

Lucy really wished she had been able to take Erza's advice from the previous night, slightly regretting not clearing her mind of all thoughts before she went to bed as she sat in the car, a barely touched coffee cupped in her hands. It was barely past 7:30 in the morning and she hadn't even cared enough to do her make-up that morning to hide her tiredness. Her manager had scolded her for not getting enough rest when she saw the evident bags underneath her eyes that morning when she came to pick herself and Nashi up-although she couldn't find the energy to care.

"Why don't you try to get some rest now then?" Erza suggested gently, glancing at her quickly before placing her gaze back on the road ahead of her. "It will be another half-hour before we arrive at the house, you can get at least a little more rest before having to be awake for the cameras."

"My coffee will get cold by then," Lucy whined, already taking a sip and almost scalding her tongue in the process, but the burn felt good and already she could feel the effects it had on her body. "I won't get much sleep anyway, by the time I will shut my eyes we will most likely have already arrived."

Erza only sighed and once again suggest she sleep but Lucy had ignored her and stayed awake through the drive, and after awhile of her spacing out, they had arrived at her new temporary home for the duration of her filming for We Got Married. She had to admit, the place was beautiful and the grass was a nice, vibrant green color and freshly mowed. She was impressed by the appearance but didn't dwindle too much before walking inside, carrying Nashi with her, and going up to the producer who was speaking with Jellal.

"We're here Sir." Erza announced quietly and the man in turn greeted them politely and gave them a quick run-down of what they were going to do, which was mainly unpacking and doing private interviews with each of them before they could have the rest of the night off to rest for the early filming that started tomorrow.

Lucy took her time to familiarize herself with her new temporary home after leaving her daughter with Erza in the living room. She could see multiple cameras positioned in the corner of walls of the bedrooms and kitchen along with the various other rooms that the rather large home held. She felt uncomfortable with the arrangement of her room that she would share with Natsu for the time being, Nashi's room had been designed simply so as to make her feel more comfortable while she and Natsu got a single bed for the both of them to share and few other things that took up the space in the room.

The kitchen-one of her favorite places to be- was nicely made, and there was plenty of room for her to bake things with her daughter in. Other rooms were for work, family rooms or a small reading room-which she had been grateful for because of her love for reading and Lucy, figured she may just read a whole row of books by the end of next week. She paused when she found a room similar to one in the studio she went to, she assumed it was a room that was sued for when couples wanted to get some exercise during their stay and Lucy was delighted at the fact that she had a space to dance in.

"It's a pretty large room isn't it?" She jumped at the voice and turned slightly to see Natsu standing in the doorframe, his arms crossed over his chest. "The producer specifically picked this place for this room so that you could practice your dancing more conveniently." Her eyes followed the way his hand ran through his unruly hair-she doubted he even brushed it after waking up this morning- and the way his eyes curiously glanced around the room. "Hadn't seen it myself yet but it is quite spacious." He flattened the wrinkles in his red shirt and shuffled his feet against the floor.

Lucy only nodded and turned to look at the bar attached to the mirror, one she would be able to find plenty of use in when she practiced. "Have you done your interview yet?" She kept it short but avoided the awkward silence that would follow if she hadn't spoken. Natsu shook his head, she could see it through the mirror, and he stepped further into the room.

"Not yet, apparently their going over the questions they have to ask." His onyx eyes travelled over to her and she shifted uncomfortably under his intense gaze, "Did you not get enough sleep last night? You look tired."

"I'm fine," she assured curtly. She knew that he could tell she was lying, he was always able to read her well and sometimes she despised the way he could see through her so easily and yet she didn't hold the same power of him. He was something she couldn't decipher any longer and she couldn't tell what he was thinking anymore.

Natsu stood beside her, leaning his arms on the bar in front of the mirror and he gazed at himself in the mirror but he refused to look at her any longer. "Am I what's keeping you from sleeping?" He sounded obnoxious in the way he worded it but she knew better then to respond as if he were being so.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, is this too much for you?" He asked gently, avoiding her person at all costs. "Is everything that happened too much?" She couldn't understand why he was asking, the last she saw of him was the hurt and angered look on his face-why was he so concerned now?

"How would it be?"

He seemed taken aback by her question and he glanced at her, "You don't ever think about what happened? You don't regret anything?"

"Why would I bother when I can't change anything?" She turned to fully face him now and he stared her straight in the eyes. She had forgotten how intense those eyes could be, but she stood her ground. "There isn't any reason for me to dwell on it Natsu, it's been almost six years since then, I can't keep myself there forever. I'll only drag myself down and I can't do that." God she was such a liar and the gentle throb in her head was beginning to increase in intensity. She needed another coffee. "I wouldn't suggest bringing it up Natsu, I'd rather not have the media digging further into my life then they already do."

She left him with that, to stand and think over her words. Perhaps he would quit bringing up things that brought along so many bittersweet memories that despite her denial, still caused her stomach to turn unpleasantly and chest to ache from the reminder of everything that she had been avoiding for so long. Lucy denied herself the luxury to think too deeply about it, however she knew later, when her daughter was asleep in her new room, the staff all gone from this house and Natsu snoring beside her, she would torment herself in the middle of the night until she could no longer keep her eyes open and drown out the hurt.

Lost in the Lie

'-I'm still haunted by the memories.'

Third Lie: It Doesn't Hurt Anymore

ALaVioa: Gray has appeared! What do you guys think of him and Nashi so far? You haven't really seen much of them yet so I wouldn't blame anyone if they still weren't sure of their thoughts towards them quite yet. Anyone surprised that I made Gray's career an actor and Lucy's dance partner occasionally? I kind of like how I've made Erza so far, it feels nice when I write scenes with her and Lucy. Anyway hopefully you enjoyed this chapter and I hope you have a nice day!
Until next time!
