Hey guys! I got this chapter out as fast as I could as a sorry for not updating as frequently as I should. I hope you all enjoy the chapter! By the way, I have a new story up called Annie and the Shark: The 70th Hunger Games. It's my take on Annie's games, but with a bit of a twist narration wise. I hope to see y'all there! Annie and the Shark will not interfere with me updating this story, by the way, so don't worry about that!

Emmeline Phoenix12: Well if they defeat Avarice, it won't be for a while. Another enemy starts to make more of an appearance in this chapter as well… ;)

wouldratherbeaunicorn: Ahhh, spoilers. I can't tell you if they kill Avarice or not, but it will be worth the wait (hopefully). I'm glad you had a good holiday! I know the new little person thing. This is the second Christmas with my cousin's kid, first one where he can actually play with things XD

StellaSlomp: My holiday was pretty good! I'm glad you had a good one! I'm glad you liked Haymitch. He's fun to write for and he'll be quite important in future chapters. Gosh darn Avarice! We'll see what happens to him…

stillaninnxcent: Welcome to the party! I'm very glad to see you!

stillaninnxcent: Annie won't die yet. Yet being the keyword. I make no promises about anything. ;)

stillaninnxcent: I'm very glad you enjoy the story! It's so fun to see new reviewers! Thank you for your understanding about my updating schedule. I have quite a busy schedule and try to fit in writing wherever I can. I'm glad you had a great holiday! I actually live at the south coast, so hearing about coasts is pretty fun XD. My holiday was really good!

Lori0211: Well, got this cranked out as fast as I could. :D

April 12th

It's been a month and we're no closer to finding a way out of this mess. Haymitch won't tell us what he attempted to do to kill the demon years ago. He says it was stupid and should never be attempted again. Annie has been hard at work, deciphering Beetee's journal. She thinks a way to kill Avarice is in there, faded to where it cannot be read. She's been at it non stop, only taking breaks to help Johanna gather plants, since she's having an increasingly hard time doing so. Haymitch keeps reminding Annie and myself it's not too late. We can get Annie pregnant and give the baby up. I told him to shove his words up his ass. Despite being an absolute pain to deal with, Haymitch has pulled his weight. He is quite the capable fisherman and hunter, probably remnants from his days being deserted on the island. Everyone has adjusted well. Haymitch doesn't play nice with others, but the food he brings back is great.

"Finnick, can I talk to you for a minute?" Peeta is peering through my door. Annie is asleep, the sun just having risen. I doubt she'll ever be a morning person.

I start to get out of bed when I realize I went commando last night. Slightly panicked, and very embarrassed, I nod. "Yeah, just give me a minute."

Peeta, probably having realized the problem, shakes his head and closes the door. I get out of bed and quickly and quietly as I can, not wanting to wake Annie up, I discovered her morning temper the hard way, and throw on the pair of boxers that were on the ground. I then run to the closet Annie and I share and grab a pair of sweatpants, and start to leave the room. I take a look at Annie before closing the door. Her hair is long and it has a habit of tickling me when I try to go to sleep. She presses up against me and moves closer to me, sometimes making me uncomfortably hot when it's particularly humid outside. She has hit me in the face while turning over on a couple of occasions. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I give her a small smile, even though I know she can't see it, before closing the door. Peeta isn't downstairs, like I expected him to be. Instead, he is in the large sunroom, the room that used to be Annie's. "What's up?"

"Finnick, we need to request some baby items from Snow. I was thinking we could make this the children's room. You and Annie are planning on having one soon, right?" Peeta doesn't know about the first born child incident. Haymitch, Annie and I have kept that information to ourselves. They only know there's something out there.

I nod at Peeta's request. "Yeah, sure. Um, we have some fur we could trade in. It's pretty rare off the island and I expect they would be willing to pay us well for it. We also have some tropical fish we were about to ship out. The money we get from that can go to the children's room too, once we take out the price for necessities."

"Alright. We're running low on some medical supplies, too. We might need some shipped in, but we can wait a bit longer on that. I've already put aside the stuff I'll need for delivering Johanna's baby." I nod. "Finnick, you didn't answer my other question."

I'm still a bit groggy, not remembering what he asked. "I'm sorry, what was the question?"

"You and Annie were going to have a kid soon, right?"

I feel the color drain from my face. "What brought this on?"

Peeta pulls out his phone and pulls out an email. It's from Snow, demanding at least one child be born per year until the amount of children is equivalent to the amount of Project Colonization participants. "Sorry," he says.

I feel myself getting angry. We're practically kids. We're doing this to give our families at home a better life. We're not old enough to be starting our own families. "This is bullshit."

Peeta nods. "Yeah. Snow only care about maximizing profits. He just wants more workers that he doesn't have to pay for."

I look back at the closed bedroom door and think of Annie. If we have a kid now, it'll just be given to Avarice. "Why don't you and Katniss go next?"

Peeta shakes his head. "Katniss completely flipped when she read the email. It was sent to all of us. Haven't you read it?"

I've been a bit distracted as of late. "Well, Johanna's baby is due in September or October, so we'll decide before then."

Peeta nods. "I'll talk to Katniss, but I think it would be easier to convince Annie, if I'm perfectly honest."

Peeta walks away and starts to go down the stairs. I'm not making Annie have a kid with me. It was different a few months ago. We were scared and not sure what else we could do. We lucked out when Johanna and Gale were the ones to get pregnant. I'm not going to make Annie have a kid just because we're being bullied, by Snow, Avarice, it doesn't matter. This is just another problem I'll have to deal with later.

I go back into the room and climb back into bed with Annie. She opens her eyes and looks at me groggily. I give her a cheeky smile and pretend the conversation I had with Peeta didn't happen. "Morning, beautiful."

She sits up and runs the sleep form her eyes. "What time is it?"

I check my phone and chuckle a bit. "Nearly eleven. Come on, we better go downstairs and get you some food before you go crazy." Annie is only angry on two occasions: when someone wakes her up when she is still tired, or when she is hangry. I cannot say I blame her. Food and sleep make everything better. Maybe that's what I need to get rid of the stress that is starting to overwhelm me.

Thank you guys so much for reading! It really means a lot to me. I would also like to thank the 36 faves and 68 followers! You are all incredible people and it means a lot to me that you guys read this!
