The American let out a breath as he paused in front of the tombstone, holding an armful of flowers. Sure today was the blonde's birthday, but the celebrations would be held later on that day and into the evening. Alfred took a few steps closer to the lone standing stone and knelt, setting the flowers down carefully.

"Hey," he spoke after a few moments of silence. "It's been a while, huh? Three hundred and sixty five days since I last visited...but you're worth it, y'know?" The male nodded a bit then motioned to the flowers. "I brought them...the flowers you told me about. I wish you could have seen them in person...but that's not possible now, is it?..." The personification of America wiped his eyes a bit and sighed shakily, trembling a little now. "I miss you, I really do. Each and every one of my people is important to me..."

Alfred sucked in a breath then lowered his head, tears finally beginning to fall freely. The emotions that had been bottled up for all a year finally came forth, soft sobs racking the American's frame. The blonde slumped down and cotinued to sniffle for a few mor moments, wiping his eyes a bit and clearing his throat.

"I miss you, Davie."

A/N:

Hey guys! Wow, I've been having horrible writer's block lately. Anyway, I came up with this while on Facebook Roleplaying with a friend on the 4th of July. I think it could have been better but I'm not sure...Anyway! Reviews are always welcome, and flames will feed the fire America is using to roast marshmallows!
