A/N: For the 100 prompts challenge (The Poetry Craze), #083 – cope.
Workaholic
It was all too sudden:
he had more work than he'd ever known
for all the work he'd once
used to do
But it meant more now
that it wasn't an empty house
he went towards
without family
nor love –
He had both of those things now
and if work was the price to pay,
so be it.
He hadn't planned it
but for now,
he wouldn't trade it
for the world.
