author's note: If these two turn out to be sisters, I will ram this ship into an iceberg and go down with it. But for now, it's smooth sailing and I'm the Captain. So enjoy the lesbians. Spoilers if you squint.

Bittersweet and Strange

In the small city of Canterlot, it was almost always sunny and beautiful, perfect weather. However, tonight was not one of those nights. It was downright brutal out, with cruel winds and heavy rain, with thunder and lightning in the background. Anyone would have to be crazy to walk through it-

-which was exactly two teenage girls were running as fast as they could to get where they were going.

"This is the worst," Sonata whined. "We're cold, wet and lost. You think Adagio would have texted us directions or given us a map or something, but no, she makes us do all of the dirty work and then she yells at us when we do it wrong." She huffed, and ducked another awning of a store. "How much longer 'til the school? Are we there yet?"

Aria frowned. "No, Sonata," she mumbled. "We're still downtown."

Sonata groaned. "But this isn't fair. Can't we take a bus or taxi or something? Look, there's one!" She pointed to a cab, which whizzed right by and splashed rain all over them.

"Well, that was a great amount of help," Aria said sarcastically, as she held back a growl.

"Maybe he didn't see us, I mean, it is kind of dark-"

"Shut up!" Aria shrieked. She released an exasperated sigh, and grabbed her friend by the shoulders, pulling her in for a kiss. Sonata squeaked at the sudden contact, and she was still bewildered when they broke apart.

Aria shook her head. "You idiot," she whispered. "You adorable idiot. Just… shut up for two minutes, ok? Let me think."

Sonata let out a sweet giggle, and nodded. "Um, o-ok," she stammered.

Aria smirked. "Was that all it took to keep you quiet?" she teased.

"Well," Sonata softly sang, as she returned the grin. "Maybe?"

"You're impossible," Aria retorted.

She was about to lean in and kiss her friend again, just for the sake of it, but when she felt her phone buzz in her pocket, it ruined the moment. She let out a sigh, and pulled it out. It was a text, from Adagio, in all caps, yelling at them for being late. Aria almost wanted to send back an equally cruel rant about Adagio was rude not to give directions, but decided against it. Instead, she just shoved her phone back into her jacket pocket and took Sonata's hand.

"Come on," she mumbled. "Let's see if we can get a ride from someone."

The two girls walked through the storm, getting even more soaked in the process...

...but right now, Aria realized that it wasn't so bad. After all, at least it was quiet now, and when Sonata started tugging on her hand playfully, it was a good distraction from their predicament.

They would have to get lost more often.

author's note: Fluff, fluff and more fluff. I dunno why I wrote this; I just really like the idea of these two being together. So yeah. If you liked this story, please let me know what you thought with a review! :)
