Watchtower

The future League was finally ready to return home. The time machine was now fully charged and ready to take them home. All that was left was to say goodbye.

Jaiden, Irey and Mare hugged the younger versions of their parents' goodbye. Don and Dawn said goodbye to their father, cousins and future son/nephew. Helen punched Tim and Cassie in the shoulder, her favorite form of showing affection. Giovanni remained stone cold and still, but he gave a small wave when Zatanna said goodbye to him. Martha and Dick hugged each other before leading her cousins onboard the time machine. Lara and Johnny said goodbye to Connor and M'gann in the traditional Kryptonian and Martian ways. Rachel and Kal'ar said their farewell to Kaldur like Atlantians and said goodbye to Raquel as they would normally say goodbye, a handshake and a few parting words. Lian waited until Andy was done fawning over Roy before getting on the ship, but said a quiet goodbye to the other archer over her shoulder. That only left Damian, who was giving the League the last batch of information they had on the Enemy before he and his team returned to their rightful time.

Damian handed the flash drive to the younger version of his father.

"This is the last of the information my team has on the Enemy. It should help you encase they ever show up. Hopefully you will be able to prevent the war that almost destroyed our world in this time." flatly spoke Damian.

"You should probably destroy the time machine and all information on it when you get back to your own time. If three children can so easily get their hands on the equipment needed to build it, then the criminals of your world would be more than likely to as well." warned Brue.

"I have already written up the request to have the time machine and all information on it destroyed. I will give it to the United Earth Federation Council once we return to our own time." told Damian.

And with that, Damian turned and entered the ship. The future League's ship dropped from the Watchtower's hangar, skimming gently over the Earth's atmosphere. When they were far enough away from the Watchtower, Damian gave the command and the time machine was turned on. The ship and all its occupants disappeared into the timestream, like they had never even been there.

United Earth Federation Headquarters

July 25, 2035, 14:17

As soon as the time machine emerged over the UEF Headquarters, Damian radioed in to the Council.

"This is Batman of the Justice League. We have returned with the missing Leaguers and three witnesses for the gun attack. Repeat, this is Batman of the Justice League. We have returned with the missing Leaguers and three witnesses for the gun attack." transmitted Damian.

It only took a few moments for Damian to receive clearance to land on the roof of the UEF Headquarters. Upon exiting the ship, the League where greeted by none other than the entirety of the United Earth Federation Council. Damian and Lian went with the Council to discuss what had happened to them. Vincent, Rika and Kenji were led down to the holding cells by Martha, Jaiden and Irey until it could be decided what to do with them. The rest of the League returned home, glad to be back in time.

Over the next few weeks the League was working in overtime. The UEF agreed with Damian and Lian that the public could not know what really happened to the League, so they had been coming up with a believable cover story and destroying all traces of the time machine once they were given clearance by the Council. Jaiden and Lara finally started going out. Rachel agreed to go on a few trial dates with Kal'ar to see if they could handle a more serious relationship.

Martha and Irey had represented Vincent, Rika and Kenji at their trial and got them sentenced to five years attending a Hero Academy under League watch after they agreed to reveal all they knew about the gun attack and several similar instances that had happened earlier in the year. Giovanni started spending more time with the Team, eventually even becoming leader. Johnny grew more skilled and confident in using his powers while Mare started acting like a real hero. Andy passed his AIT and started helping Helen so she could take hers early.

Though the League where back in their own time, the memories and bonds they had acquired from their journey to the past would stay with them for a lifetime. And who knows. They might very well meet them again one day. Until then, the League was content to live out their lives and survive, just as they always did.
