A/N: HEY GUYS I AM SO SORRY IT HAS TAKEN ME SO LONG TO GET THIS CHAPTER OUT (ALMOST A YEAR I AM SO SORRY) BUT LIFE HAS KINDA GOT IN THE WAY SO MUCH THIS YEAR. THERE HAS BEEN GOOD AND BAD MOMENTS THIS YEAR AND I WOULD RATHER NOT SAY WHY BUT I HOPE ALL OF YOU HAVE HAD A GOOD 2016. PLEASE READ AND REVIEW GUYS.

It was New Years Eve and tomorrow we would all be heading back to DC as we had work the day after. But I was going to make the most of our last couple of hours in Stillwater together. I had already got dad to agree to look after Tony for us and now I just needed to find the right time to ask Jenny. That moment came when the two of us were re-stocking aisle 5 at the back of my fathers store. After re-checking all the prices were right on the items I had just placed on the shelf I made my way over to Jenny and wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her on the cheek. She was facing away from me so she couldn't actually see me but she leant back into my embrace.

"Jen, would you like to go out with me tonight? Dad's offered to look after Tony so we can have some alone time and I really want to show you around" I said and she turned in my arms, she placed a kiss to my lips before saying

"I would love to go out with you tonight Jethro" she said and I smiled before kissing her again. Feeling excitement at the thought of getting to spend a night alone with her I returned to doing what I had been asked by my father to do.

It was about three hours later when we were able to stop, Jenny was in the house getting ready and I was with Tony sitting with him as dad made their dinner. I'd packed a picnic basket to take with me and Jenny and hopefully it would be a lot of fun. I loved the face that the two of us were going to be alone, I mean I loved Tony with all of my heart but we hadn't spent much time alone together since her return from overseas. I smiled brightly when Jenny came in wearing a beautiful dress and she had a cardigan in her hand. Tony got up and ran to his mum kissing her on the cheek before she smiled and told him that he had to be a good boy for dad. After saying goodnight to Tony and dad we made our way out of the house and to my truck. I opened the door for Jenny helping her in before I made my way around to the drivers seat and drove towards our destination.

When we finally arrived just outside of town, on a hillside overlooking Stillwater and the farm land surrounding the area, I got out of the truck and made my way around to help Jenny out of the truck before leading her to the truckbed and removing the cover that I had placed atop the pillows and blankets while she was preparing for the evening. Jenny gasped and stood on her tip toes to kiss my cheek.

"I take it you like it then?" I asked and she looked at me a sparkle to her eyes and a wide smile on her face

"What do you think?" she said and planted a soft kiss on my lips this time. I helped her up into the truck before getting in myself and sitting across from her, first we had to have our meal. From behind one of the pillows I pulled out the picnic hamper and she smiled

"You did this all for me?" she asked and when I felt my cheeks burning I knew that she loved the idea. Pulling out two plates and two knives and forks I grabbed the plate of ham that dad had cooked and the salad that I had made as well as Jenny's favourite potato salad. We pilled our plates high with food and just sat contentedly as we ate our meals in silence.

Once dinner and desert were finished I leant back on the pile of pillows and motioned for Jenny to lay next to me, when she snuggled into my side I smiled and kissed her forehead, as we looked up at the stars. I was just content with sitting in silence when Jenny looked at me with a truly serious expression on her face.

"Jethro would you ever consider getting married again?" she asked and I had to fight back the smile that was daring to break through, keeping a straight face I asked

"Why's that Jen?" she turned to me and said

"I was just thinking, I don't think I could stand much longer with you if it is your ultimate plan to leave me, I mean it'st not just me that I have to worry about you hurting, theres Tony too and I -" but I cut her off with a passionate but tender kiss before breaking apart and saying

"If I was to marry you Jennifer I would be the luckiest man on earth not just because I would have a loving little boy that I would get to call my own but you as my wife. I'm not saying yes or no at the moment but I've experienced what that type of loss and heart ache feels like and I know that you do too, but I know that together we can get through anything. For now though lets just focus on the important things, us and Tony that's all that matters" I said and she nodded. We spent another hour atop the hill watching the stars and making out like two horny highschoolers but eventually we managed to pry ourselves away from each other long enough to head back to dads house.

It was New Years Day when Jenny and I were called back to work, and we had to say goodbye to my father, as I packed the car Tony was having cuddles with Papa Gibbs and sobbing his heart out because he didn't want to leave, the only way Jenny could get Tony to let go of my father was for Jackson to promise to come to DC and visit relatively soon. With Tony in the car and hugs between my father and Jenny, she headed to the car as I stayed to give my father a hug and tell him that I loved him, with a firm clap on the back and an "I love you too son" I made my way to the truck and we left my father to head back to reality.
