The moment after Yang purposed she also brought out a file that she's had since she was twelve.

"What is that?" Weiss giggled, still riding the high of the proposal.

"My dream wedding plan." Yang smiled. "Had it since I was was eight. Do you have one, or something like it?"

"No," Weiss said shaking her head. "I was always too busy getting ready to take over the company."

"We'll first off, the entire first half is complete fantasy." Yang chuckles and starts to go through it.

It took a few hours and a lot of it was scrapped by Yang herself. Some things were added and it was put aside for later.

"So, bridesmaids are settled?" Weiss asked.

"I got mine but you don't have any." Yang pointed out.

"I think I can swing Erika and Velvet." Weiss hesitated and took a breath. "I, maybe I can get my sister to come. If she does she will be my maid of honor."

Yang nodded. "So are our parents, sitting together?"

"Oh, right, you haven't even met mine yet." Weiss trailed off. "In Atlas the parents plan the wedding, as a send off. What do they do on Patch or here in Vale?"

"Patch, there we have a small thing with just family and then a big party for everyone else." Yang said. "Vale, here it's an event. Big weddings are common with friends of friends, newlyweds compared guest list to see whose is longer."

"Vale's doesn't sound too appealing." Weiss scrunched her nose. "I like the Patch one though."

"We can even throw in a little of Atlas and let our parents plan it." Yang added.

"So you meet my family then we tell them we're engaged and then they plan the wedding." Weiss listed and sighed. "This might not end well."

Weiss buried her face into the curve of Yang's neck and they both fell asleep like that.

A week later Weiss had arranged for her family to meet Yang in her office. Yang sat on a couch and drummed her fingers on the wooden armrest. Her nerves were getting to her, she's dropped into active battles and conflict zones and has been calmer. The new arm was still a little glitchy with the sense of touch so she can't use it without running the risk of crushing what ever it is she touches.

"If you don't calm down you'll ruin the armrest." Blake said as she dropped off some papers for Weiss.

"I would rather fight a Grimm." Yang mumbled.

At that moment an older man and woman came into the office without permission followed by another woman a few years older than Weiss.

"Mother, Father, Winter." Weiss said curtly with a nod to each letting Yang know. "So glad you could make it."

A thin faux smile was on Weiss' lips as she stood and came around her desk to greet them. Yang stood and quickly crossed the room to stand at Weiss' side.

"Hello sir, ma'am, miss." Yang said with a nod to each.

"Yang, I believe." Mr Schnee looked her up and down. "She could have done better." He mumble not intending anyone to hear.

Yang's face twitch and the room grew slightly warmer. She then took a bitter smile and spoke between gritted teeth. "So glad to finally meet my future father-in-law."

"Future father-in-law?" He asked with an edge to his words.

"Yes, Father, such a nice first impression you've made on my fiance." Weiss spoke with a similar edge.

"Oh Weiss, honey, how nice." Her mother chirped and tried to lighten the tension her husband caused. "We watched you on Full Spectrum. Yang darling, your clip with that girl who disappeared was amazing. How long did it take you to heal?"

"About a day." Yang smiled and patted the spot she was stabbed.

"Though the arm is new." Winter finally spoke.

Yang noted the military dress uniform. "Training mission with a few elite hopefuls went south. An unregistered elder Grimm was hiding nearby. I was lucky just to lose an arm, and the hopefuls were more than lucky to only break an arm."

"An elder Grimm?" Winter raised a skeptical eyebrow. "Impressive."

Enough to say that Mrs Schnee and Winter were pleasant, but the father seemed as agreeable as a nail smoothy. Throughout the day Yang and Weiss did work on the side while they spent time with Weiss' family.

"Well the day is over." Yang hummed at the time.

"Over?" Mr schnee grumbled. "It's only four, do you end all of your days so early?"

"Yes, we have a daughter at home and I am to actually raise her myself and not leave it to someone else." Weiss said as she shut down her desk and got up. She looked her father and mother in the eye with a withering look and then turned to Winter with a warmer one. "I have reservations at Calotses for us at six, I hope to see you there."

Weiss walked out of her office leading a gaping Yang by her tie. They went to pick up Ruby and got ready for dinner.

"I get to meet Grandfather and Grandmother today?" Ruby asked, she didn't like the way those words felt when she said them but Weiss specifically told her to call them that.

"And Aunt Winter." Weiss said as she took out a black skirt and a puffy blouse for Ruby.

"Yay!" Ruby jumped on her bed.

"Now sit still, I need to change you for dinner." Weiss instructed and Ruby did as told.

"Now, we're going to a vary special place for dinner tonight Rubes so I need you to be on your best behavior. Know what that means?" Yang asked as she fixed her tie.

"No jumping, no yelling, no screaming, no running, say thank you and please, use the fork and spoon, and um…" Ruby listed.

"Do as told and be nice to everyone." Weiss finished as she did the last button on Ruby's blouse.

They all then got into Yang's car and made their way to the restaurant. Once there they saw both of their parents on opposite sides of the waiting room like they didn't know that the other was there. Yang chuckled at the and whistled and everyone looked at her. Mr Schnee grumbled something as they approached while Qrow and Tieyang didn't bat an eye at the action.

"Dad, Qrow, meet the Schnee's." Yang introduced the two groups.

"Pleasure to meet you." Qrow offered his hand and Mr Schnee just looked at, Winter then took it and shook.

"It's so nice to meet such a famous weaponsmith." She exaggerated the word famous and sent a pointed look at her father. "And Teiyang Xiao Long, as in one of the leading researchers of Grimm studies?"

Yangs petagree seemed to irk Mr Schnee as his usual glower deepened.

"I don't remember introducing ourselves." Teiyang said.

"I may have looked into the family of who my little sister is seeing." Winter didn't mention the big empty space of Ruby and who her father was. "And you are Ruby."

"That's me." Ruby beamed up at the woman.

WN - Life's a bitch and this had to be tossed onto the back burner for a... year, damn, sorry.
