This was a moment neither Beifong had ever dreamed would happening, but here they were. They listened to the cheering with massive glee, waving to their fans proudly as they waited in anticipation for what was sure to be the greatest moment of their entire lives. Then, after what felt like a lifetime to them, an announcer came to the middle of the ring and struck a dramatic pose to hype up the people watching.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first ever Zaofu Probending Match!" Wei and Wing's smile grew broader as their mom, dad, sister, hairy and bald uncles all clapped enthusiastically in the yard beside the makeshift probending ring. The fact that their brothers had little interest in what that they were doing, and the fact their real aunt was nowhere to be seen couldn't ruin their excitement.

"And now, here in Zaofu, in the specially built probending ring, we have a very special match!" Their cousin Bolin shouted in his showy announcer voice from middle of the small ring he and Korra made, the lines drawn in dirt and mud surrounded the ring where the water would be, "On the left side we have the fabulous Beifong Badgermoles, Wei, Wing and yours truly, Bolin Beifong!" he paused for louder cheering and their mother's over-excitable encouraging 'crush them into the dust, sweeties', which made them both blush. They were big boys now, they didn't need to be called 'sweeties' anymore. "And on this side we have the Fire Ferrets, Korra, Mako, and their replacement earthbender, Kuvira!"

As he went again about the rules, just to make sure they knew what to do, their cousin Asami was handing Opal a mallet that she was going to hit the gong with to start the match or ending the rounds, "Alright, Badgermoles ready? Fire Ferrets Ready?" after she got a nod from both teams, "Go ahead, Opal."

Lin promised to talk to her little sister today, and she would, but later. Su's twins dragged her kids away, giving her a perfect opportunity to take care of a little unfinished business. So with sealhound in tow, the chief set off towards the city jail to meet with a former friend of hers before Raiko and his cameramen got ahold of him.

"Way to go Wei!" Bolin shouted in the second round when his little cousin 'knocked' the avatar back into the mud in the second round, taking her out of the game.

"I'm Wing!" The boy stopped to shout with stomp, the distraction causing him to get hit accidentally by a fire blast of Mako's, sending him back to the second zone.

"Sorry Wing!" He called back to the boy who was now furiously flinging discs at the firebender.

"Urgh, too strong..." Mako grunted before 'tumbling' into the second zone just before Opal sounded their makeshift buzzer.

"Alright badgermoles, we can win this, alright?" the eldest Beifong pepped up his team in the third round as he focused on the opposing team's earthbender. The plan was to let the boys win, but barely so they wouldn't catch on that the Fire Ferrets threw the match, but Wing stepped in front of a disc Bolin deflected behind him and he fell into the mud. Kuvira concernedly looked over to see if he was okay and forgot to get thrown out until it was too late and the buzzer sounded.

"And we have a tie." Asami announced with a shrug.

"Alright guys, let's huddle up." Team captain Bolin called in his little cousins and keeled down to their level, "They gotta put their earthbender in for the tie-breaker. Which one of you wants to go to to toe with Kuvira for the win?"

"I wanna." Wing tried to call dibs,

"I'll do it." Wei, piped in at the same time, which began the argument which Bolin really should've seen coming.

"No, me."

"No, because I'm older."

"No you're not."

"Am too."

"Am not." Bolin looked around to the others for help, and the 'team manager' made the call.

"Okay, I choose Bolin to do the tie-breaker." Both boys sulked at their mom's judgment, dropping their shoulders and huffing as the eldest went to the center circle. They did seem to forget it immediately when their big cousin raised the circle and got into a stance which Kuvira copied.

"Don't hold back." The captain had a smirk that told Bolin she wanted a real match...and made him just a little bit nervous. But he was a Beifong, and Beifongs didn't get nervous; even when did.

"I won't." he put on his Earth Rumble face as they waited for the buzzer.

The guards wouldn't let her in, and she couldn't remember the last time she was this angry. She shouted, threatened, even came close to getting herself arrested just to give a the traitorous bastard a piece of her mind, and her fist. They sweated, knowing full well who she was and what she was capable of, but they didn't budge. The Matriarch's orders were clear, no one saw Sato without her say so.

"Let Chief Beifong in to see the prisoner." An even tone said from behind her. She didn't recognize the balding man with the half glasses and gold chain jewelry, but he obviously was high up on Zaofu's food chain because all he had to do to convince them to step aside was take full responsibility with the clan's Matriarch, "I'll have him brought to the interrogation room for you."

Discs were flying every which way. Bolin always considered himself light footed for an earthbender, but this woman was a feather foot for sure. How she was moving so quickly on her first time probending, he had no idea, but he did know that he was honestly barely holding on at the moment. He could only dodge one out of five thrown at him and he knew he had to do something quick if he wanted to win.

"Bolin, are you okay?" He heard through the ringing in his ears, it sounded like Mako, but he couldn't be one hundred percent certain on that. Though somehow, he got down from the little platform and onto his back.

"How many fingers do you see?" Again, he couldn't tell, but if he were in a deducing mood, he would've guessed one of the waterbenders.

"Urgh, two. But my ears..." water splashed towards his ears and circled around with a glow, and the annoying sound dulled down, "That's the stuff..." and now he could sit up with a groan. Kuvira immediately began to apologize, "Are you kidding, that was awesome! I didn't even see that coming. You'd make a great probender."

"Thanks." A smile lit up her face. Korra wasn't so quick to let it go, and stepped up to examine Kya's healing.

"Are you sure you're alright?"

"Aw, I've taken worse hits than that." He waved off the attention while fighting a blush at Korra's attention "Luckily it hit me in my thick head or I'd really be in trouble- Oh, sorry team. I blew it." Of course Kuvira knew she was supposed to take a dive for the sake of the team, but he still felt responsible, he should of found a way to remind her.

"It was so cool." Well, at least Wei wasn't too disappointed,

"Yeah, you flew like a mile and boom!" Apparently, neither was Wing. Both boys got a pat on the head from Bolin,

"We'll get 'em next time."

"Next time I wanna be on the avatar's team!"

"Wing!" The boy got scolded by his mother, "That was rude."

"Aw, it's alright Aunt Su." he leaned down whisper, "I'd wanna be on the avatar's team, too. So, breakfast?"

"You're always hungry, Bo." Asami rolled her eyes,

"I'm a growing boy." The man grinned, hoisting a twin up on each shoulder, "We going to get some food or what?"

Her fist slammed against the table, putting a hand sized dent it to make absolutely sure Hiroshi knew she had her bending, though seeing him jump as far as his shackles would allow did give her a sense of satisfaction she hadn't felt sense she had Amon in a similar position.

"You came to kill me?" He assumed, trying to look though, but shaking in fear.

"You're not worth it." She grabbed his collar, "You can spend the rest of your useless life rotting away in a dark cell." This man didn't deserve the release of death, she wanted him to suffer in a cage surrounded by people who hated him with no hope. It was the least he deserved, "Alone. You don't call Asami, you don't write Asami. You got that? If I ever catch you trying to contact her-"

"My daughter's dead. You and those street rats of yours took her from me." without a second's warning, a fist clashed into his nose with a gratifying crunch. The security officers rushed in to put an end to it, but clearly didn't think that through. Their uniforms were used against them, sending them flying back into a wall.

"I'm fine." calming down, Lin released the officers who didn't know what to do and stood by just watching blood pour out of Sato's nose. "You raised a good kid. You don't deserve her. She's mine now."

Alright, there's another fanart of my story 'Forced to be a family', and it's amazing. The artist did the entire first chapter in the same art style as Republic City Hustle. I definitely recommend checking it out. You can find it on
