Chapter Twenty Four

January – two months pregnant

1st January had been one of the best days of the Doctor's life, for today was his new birthday that Clara had given him.

He woke to Clara cooking him breakfast, singing whilst she did so. He snuck behind her and quickly wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck.

"Morning beautiful" He whispered into her ear like he often did in the mornings.

"Morning birthday boy, what do you want to do today?" Clara turned around, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Just be around you, I intend to start this year how I intend to end it, with you by my side but this at the end of this year we'll be cradling a beautiful baby in our arms" The Doctor smiled.

"Well, we better make today extra special for you, so I'll do whatever you want all day" Clara whispered seductively, as she went on her tip toes and caught his earlobe in her teeth, before kissing it.

"Whatever I want? Hmmm, I just want to cuddle up with you all day and watch movies and then I get to go to sleep with you in my arms, as I should be" The Doctor kissed her once more.

So that's what they did all day, they cuddled under heaps of blankets but as the last movie ended, Clara slowly snuck her hand under the blankets, slowly starting to rub his member through his onesie.

"Clara" He moaned, his eyes slowly closing.

"Birthday boy deserves a treat" She whispered, as she slowly pulled off the blanket and began to unzip his onesie, then pulling down his boxers, releasing his member.

She pumped and stroked at him until he grew firmly hard under her soft grip, then she slowly slid onto her knees on the floor between his legs and took him into her mouth, slowly licking the tip and sucked hard on the rest of him.

"Clara, fu-jesus, Clara" He groaned, slipping his fingers into her hair.

She sucked harder, taking in as much as she could whilst trying not to gag. She looked up at him, watching as he threw his head back over the back of the sofa. His neck muscles straining and his Adam's apple bobbing as he cursed and moaned her name over, and over.

She released him to finish him off by pumping fast and hard until he was practically screaming her name, warning her that he was about to come but she continued until he spurted out onto her hands, wrists and even some of her onesie.

"Best birthday surprise ever" The Doctor said between heavy breaths.

"Well Daddy needs attention too" Clara smirked, coming up, pulling his boxers back over.

"And Mummy gives the best kind of attention" He whispered, leaning over to kiss her.

February – 3 months

Clara's bump was definitely starting to show now; she stood in front of her bedroom mirror in her underwear, slowly stroking the small bump of her tummy.

The Doctor got up from the bed, wearing his pyjama bottoms and nothing else and stood behind her in the mirror, slowly starting to kiss up her shoulder and onto her neck.

"You're so beautiful, and this bump is just as beautiful" His hands slid down and started to stroke her tummy, his hands moving around her soft skin, Clara turned her face to capture his lips in a small kiss.

"We need to do baby shopping soon; do you want to find out the sex?" The Doctor asked her as they stepped away from the mirror to start and get dressed for work.

"I don't think so, I want it to be a surprise but I guess this would make buying stuff a bit more difficult"

"I want it to be a girl so she can be beautiful and take after all of your looks" The Doctor smiled as he buttoned up his shirt.

"If it were a girl, I'd want her to have your thick hair, and your personality. But let's hope the baby doesn't take your after your eyebrows and ears and chin!" Clara teased as she pulled on her skirt.

"Well, if that's the case I hope the baby doesn't inherit your nose or your round face!" The Doctor teased her back.

"I think our baby will be so beautiful, especially considering you're the father"

"And especially considering you are the mother, the most beautiful woman in the whole entire universe" He smirked, zipping up and buttoning his trousers.

"It doesn't matter who the baby looks like the most, all that matters is that it is ours and it will be beautiful" The Doctor smiled as they were both fully dressed and Clara was applying her makeup.

"Yeah, beautiful" Clara whispered.

"So, did you enjoy last night?" The Doctor asked.

"Oh it was so romantic, it was the perfect valentines Doctor" She smiled, turning to kiss him once more before finishing her mascara.

"Yeah, well, you know me! One time in my ninth body I-" The Doctor was cut short by a sound.

The sound of the universe.

"Oh my god" Clara quickly turned her head at the first second of the sound.

"SHE'S BACK!" The Doctor grinned manically as he sprinted form the bedroom and out of the front door, not bothering with shoes as he skipped a step with his long legs carrying him down the stairs and across the field.

There she was. The beautiful blue box stood there in the field, looking brand new, light shining through the windows.

The Doctor quickly turned around to see Clara jogging towards him, a bright smile on her face.

"Well, she definitely kept her promise of six months!" She grinned, walking towards him as he snapped his fingers, making the doors fling open.

The Doctor ran in, sliding around the console, touching every single thing in his reach.

"Oh, have I missed you!" The Doctor leant forward and kissed the column and Clara couldn't help the twinge of jealousy that shot through her body, she was jealous of a machine!

"Clara, she's back, I can finally take you away to proper places, and we can do all sorts! But we also need to design a baby room in here too, just in case we go for a family trip or something!" The Doctor grinned, making Clara's heart melt.

"Oh, our baby will love the TARDIS, but we may have to baby proof some things around here" The Doctor whirled around, grasping his hands and fiddling with them.

"And we can add another chair in here! In the console room, a little chair that we can put the baby in and make sure it's properly strapped in for take-off and landing, I know the safest place for the baby is in ours our arms bust just in case we better make sure-" The Doctor was cut off as Clara quickly walked over to him, grabbing him by his braces and pulling him towards her in a rough and forceful kiss, which he quickly returned.

"I love you so much" She giggled at his stunned face.

"Love you too" He smiled, kissing her once more.

March – 4 months

"Ready?" The Doctor held out his hand in the hallway, he wore a deep blue bowtie with his purple jacket today, a solemn look on his face.

"Yeah" Clara breathed out, reaching out and taking his hand as they walked out the door, the Doctor locking it after them.

Today was the 5th of March, the anniversary of Clara's mother, Ellie Oswald's death exactly ten years ago.

The graveyard was only a ten minute drive away where Clara clung to The Doctor's jacket tighter than usual, resting her head on his shoulder as he wove through streets until they finally arrived at the cold looking gates.

They slid off the bike and onto the ground that suddenly seemed to be a lot harder underneath Clara's feet.

They joined hands once more as they walked slowly through the stones, Clara's other hand reflectively resting on her bump, just checking that it was still there. She had once explained to the Doctor that she had a habit of losing things.

The deep black gravestone quick came into sight, the Doctor squeezed Clara's hand a little tighter.

Clara laid down the white lilies that they brought with them, before stepping back taking a deep breath.

"I'm sorry mum" She whispered, a small tear falling down the side of her cheek as the Doctor pulled her into his side, kissing the top if her head.

"I just wish she were here, she would love to see the baby, she would have been the perfect grandmother and she would have loved you so much" Clara mumbled, turning her face into his jacket.

"And I know I would have loved her back, and I know that our baby will grow up knowing that their grandmother was a wonderful woman"

"Yeah"

"I think that the baby, if a girl, should have their middle name as Ellie and if a boy, the middle name Elliot? After your mother, so that they always know and remember their grandmother" The Doctor said delicately.

"Yeah, she would like that, yeah" Clara smiled sadly before turning with the Doctor, walking away from Ellie Oswald.

April – 5 months

"Not funny Clara, at all" The Doctor spoke, the paint dripping from his hair onto his hair, his shirt and trousers ruined, his face covered in yellow paint.

"I think this is the funniest thing I have ever seen!" Clara laughed out, struggling to catch breaths between her fits of giggle as she threw down the empty paint pot she just threw over the Doctor's head.

"You better start running right now Oswald"

"Not in a million years, Smith" She smirked.

The Doctor ever so slowly reached down and grabbed the small bucket of red paint next to his feet, getting ready to throw it over Clara.

"Don't you dare" She warned, taking a step back from him.

Before she could even react, the Doctor and poured the red liquid over her head, watching it drip in front of her eyes and onto her unlucky white t-shirt.

"Revenge is sweet" The Doctor laughed.

Clara however lunged for him, pushing him back towards the unpainted wall, then yanking him onto the floor and sitting on top of his stomach.

She dipped her hands in the red paint in the tray next to her and quickly wiped it all over his face and shirt.

"I would fight back and smother you head to toe in paint but I'm the bigger person" The Doctor huffed, the corners of his lips turning upwards slightly.

"Or because you know you would lose" She replied smugly.

"Maybe" He smirked.

Clara quickly bent down and captured his lips in a strange tasting kiss, the paint mixing with

their tongues but they didn't care.

"Do you know what time it is now?" Clara asked as she pulled back.

"What?" He sat up, holding Clara on his lap still.

"Shower time!" She slowly jumped up, yanking the Doctor by his arm and pulled him into the bathroom, getting ready to wash each other's bodies rid of the paint for their baby's room.

May – 6 month

"Fuck you!" Clara practically screamed at the Doctor, as she stormed out of the kitchen and into their bedroom.

"Clara! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do it, I'm so sorry!" The Doctor pleaded after her, following her into the bedroom.

"I am so fucking angry at you, you know that! I have never been angrier at you than this point in time; I am so tempted to run in that TARDIS and burn the whole library down! Do not think I won't!" Clara was fuming, her cheeks red and her breathing heavy.

"Baby, Clara, I love you, I didn't mean for this to happen!" The Doctor walked towards her and held her arms.

"I can't believe you did this, you betrayed me!" Clara threw his arms off of hers.

"Clara, all I did was eat your chocolate bar! That's it! I didn't think you were saving it for yourself or anything like that!

"I told you this morning! Did you think the chocolate bar would just randomly appear?! Do you know that all fucking day I have been thinking about eat that chocolate bar and I get home to find out that you had already eaten it!" Clara would not calm down.

"It was a chocolate bar, Clara" The Doctor stated slowly, a small smirk playing on his lips.

"But you don't understand that right now, that chocolate bar was those little things that make me feel so much better during the day!" Clara seemed almost close to tears.

"Clara, I love you" He softly reminded her as he walked over and pulled her into a hug.

"I love you too" She whispered, burying he head under his chin.

"Now, I'm gonna go out and buy you two chocolate bars, to make up with my totally horrific crime" He pulled away and slowly kissed her.

June – 7 months

"I have never see anything this beautiful before I don't think" Clara whispered, staring out the TARDIS doors and the swirling nebula before her.

"Only one thing more beautiful than this, and that will always be you" The Doctor leant over and kissed her neck, breathing in his favourite smell.

"You little charmer" She smirked, her eyes never leaving the colours before her.

They sat on the floor by the doors; the Doctor had laid down large cushions for Clara's comfort.

"Yeah well, I can't wait to show this little one all of these beauties in the universe" The Doctor placed a hand on Clara's tummy and slowly rubbed it in soothing circles.

"The child of stars" Clara whispered.

The Doctor didn't answer, but kept touching her tummy lightly, kissing Clara's jawline and corner of her mouth.

"How did we get so lucky?" Clara sighed, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"I don't know, I'm wary of the fact that the universe is never on my side" His lips set in a straight line.

"Then let's just be grateful for this little moment of happiness"

"I'll always be more than grateful to have you by my side" He kissed the top of her head, but even that could not tame the released worry of losing Clara and his child.

July 30th 2015 – The birth

Clara screamed and grunted, squeezing the Doctor's hand as hard as she possible could, turning her knuckles white as she pushed once more.

"Clara, you're going to need to push harder" The medical doctor said from between her legs, his voice muffled slightly from the face mask.

"You come and bloody do it then!" Clara shouted back in frustration, sweat glistening her forehead and soaking the sides of her hair.

"Clara, baby, please, just one more big push, it'll be so worth it okay? I love you, come on you can do this" The Doctor whispered lovingly, stroking her hair away from her head with his free hand.

Clara nodded weakly before squeezing his hand harder than before and pushed with everything she had and fucking hell it hurt.

"Here it comes" The medical doctor spoke loudly before cries were heard.

The cries of the baby, the Doctor and Clara's baby filled the room and both parents breathed a sigh of relief.

The baby was quickly cut from the chord and wrapped in a blanket before passed to Clara where the crying seemed to subside and its eyes slowly opened.

"It's a girl" The nurse said, smiling.

The Doctor was stunned, the sight of this little pink baby girl in his lover's arms. His child. He could feel the tears beginning to well up in his eyes.

"Oh my stars, she's beautiful. Oh Doctor, she's our baby" Clara cried softly, as the Doctor quickly wrapped an arm around her shoulders and kissed her forehead.

"She's our baby, our impossible little thing" He whispered, a tear falling down his face.

"What's this little one's name?" The Nurse asked, coming over with wet towels.

"I can't think of one" Clara looked hopelessly at the Doctor.

"How about Astra? It means 'of the stars' from Latin origin? I think that would fit her story perfectly" The Doctor smiled.

"Yeah, I love that, what do you think?" Clara asked the baby gargling in her arms.

"Astra Ellie Oswald" The Doctor whispered, leaning down to kiss the baby's forehead.

"Oswald-Smith" Clara quickly corrected, to which the Doctor just smiled back and slowly bent his head to softly kiss Clara's lips.

"I love you so much, and I will love Astra just the same" He whispered.

"I love you too, don't forget that" She reminded him, tears running down her face.

And the Doctor never did forget that, nor did Clara forget that he loved her just as much. The day Astra was born was a completely new chapter in their lives together, but the love they shared just grew with them.

Everyone meet Astra Ellie Oswald-Smith! Picking the name for the baby was possibly the hardest thing possible.

There will be two more chapters after this one...
