Footsteps clattered on the sidewalk as Kai departed from Card Capital, the shop that held the tournament he just left from. Of course, the winner was his beloved bluenet, Aichi, who had been holding the small certificate with a big smile on his face. Kai, who had no reason to stay anymore, had decided to leave, silently congratulating Aichi as he headed to nowhere in particular.

As he walked, the pungent smell of blossoms filled his nose, and green hues traveled to look at the trees that provided such a sweet scent. Blossoms had recently bloomed, petals lost in the breeze and scattered all over the ground around him, fluttering to the ground and piling up like snow. The brunet smiled, catching a petal that crossed his vision, only to just let it go again. It was these little wonders of life that had kept him happy, especially during dark times in his life.

"Kai kun!" A high pitched cry from behind him rung out, and the brunet turned around to see Aichi running towards him, with Naoki tailing behind. As the bluenet reached him, Aichi slumped on his knees to catch his breath, as if he had just ran 5 miles, but Kai noticed (with amusement) that Card Capital was still visible and perhaps one and a half blocks away.

"I won!" He smiled, words ragged from panting. Kai would've just walked away with a scoff, leaving Aichi to stare at him as he left with a heartbroken face. But the bluenet had changed him drastically, drastically enough to allow Kai to smile with ease.

"Good job, Aichi." He smiled, placing a hand on Aichi's head. A giggle burst out as a reply from the bluenet as he ruffled his hair. Naoki, who knew something was going to happen between the two, left with a knowing smile on his face to watch them from a few blocks away.

"Kai kun... have you figured out what to do yet? Where to go? You just had a bunch of fights, right?" He burst out suddenly, looking eager to hear his answer. Despite loving the little bluenet, he couldn't help but feel annoyed. It wasn't like he could just suddenly figure out what he could do.

"No."

The answer was followed with a disappointed sigh, but Kai quickly added, "But nonetheless, you and I are going to part, huh?"

"Yeah..." Aichi scratched his head sheepishly as Kai lifted his own meaty hand off the bundle of silky blue hair. The bluenet seemed kind of sad, yet a new look was on his face, a look of sad confidence.

Kai turned to walk away. "Don't worry. After all..."

They both smiled at each other.

"Our paths will meet again." They syncronized, and Aichi let out a laugh. Kai smiled as will, and Aichi turned to leave.

"Well then, I'll see you later. Bye, Kai kun!" His lover hooted, running to meet Naoki. The smile on Kai's face remained as he turned to walk away, glancing up at a cherry blossom tree. Two doves were on the branch, brushing their delicate heads against each other, letting out little chirps. The brunet let out a wistful sigh before carrying on with his walking. He still didn't know where he was walking to, and the same with his life. But one thing was certain.

They would meet again.
