Hello ya'll! Nice to be writing again! School has been really busy lately and I've been staying up really late. :( But I still find time to write a little so here I am! This one was inspired by my teacher and she doesn't even know it. Inspiration comes from odd places doesn't it?

Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN DETECTIVE CONAN!

Ran was the sun. That could not be argued with. She lit everyone up because of her cheeriness and her optimism. Smiling and trying her best even when things looked their worse, she was like the sun.

Shinichi, on the other hand, was the moon. When everything seemed dark and scary, he lit up the night and gave everyone the courage to go on. He might be there and he might not be there, according to how the phases changed. He was exactly like the moon.

Shinichi liked Ran. No, he loved Ran. Ever since they had met, she had glowed brightly and radiated happiness that always made him cheerful. She was his sun. Always there for him, she was his reason for life as the sun was the reason for humanity. She gave him warmth, life, and provided so much for him. She was his sun and that was one reason why he loved her.

Ran loved Shinichi. A lot. She started comparing him to the moon long ago when he'd found her in the dark forest during a camping trip, with a flashlight. He had lit their way back to camp because that day had been a new moon. Ever since, he had been her full moon. After Shinichi turned into Conan, he got to see the brightest part of her; how caring she could be and how she could tolerate pain. She was determined to wait for Shinichi and that warmed his insides.

Ran watched the moon as she cried. She longed for her own moon, the man she loved. She prayed to the moon and prayed to the lady on the moon, willing him to come back.

And even after her moon came back and told her the truth, she wasn't willing to accept it. Shinichi deflated. His beloved sun wouldn't forgive him and he was hurt. As she ignored him, he stared at her, feeling all of his memories come to life. All the memories of the sun and moon together, playing. He couldn't bring himself to accept the fact that she hated him. So he stayed away. The moon was always a new moon, it would never be full again.

Ran looked out at the moon in the sky. The weather stations thought it was weird that the celestial object was always dark now. The sun wasn't as bright either. It made everyone in the world cold.

But when Ran thought about it, she understood more and more. She understood the fact that he had tried to protect her. She ran to him, the man that had lighted up the path in front of her. She readily forgave him and the moon became full again. The sun was bright again.

Finally, the moon and the sun were reunited.

A/N: Just a little drabble. This was inspired by the Chinese Moon Festival and I started writing it at that time. That was a really long time ago... I was on a writer's block but here it is! Thanks for reading! Much love!
