A/N Hello everyone. Been a while aye :) I hope you are all staying safe! I am personally okay, but have been in a bit of a lazy slump and haven't been feeling inspired or productive at all. On a good note, however, I finished my bachelor's degree!

Hope you enjoy this little piece I had started a long time ago and forgot about. x

Leaning against the threshold of the bedroom, arms crossed and shoulders slumped, Roy sulked. His eyes carefully watched his lover pack her suitcase, mumbling to herself about what'd she'd need and how she could fit it in the scant space the suitcase provided.

This was his fault, and he knew it, but that didn't mean he couldn't be sad about it.

"I don't want you to go," he griped for the millionth time, making Ed pause and sigh. She turned around to face him, a bored, exasperated look on her face.

"I know, you've been telling me nonstop since last night," she said, turning back to ignore him again.

Roy pushed his bottom lip out in dismay. In a mere hour Ed had to be at the train station, and after that she'd be gone for a whole two weeks, doing Truth-knows-what for random townspeople and his bastard higher-ups, with no way to let Roy know if she was still alive. Her mission was in a place so isolated that phones hadn't even been invented yet for them.

What was Roy supposed to do here alone, other than fall into deep depression and never leave his bed?

"I don't want you to go," he repeated once more. His thoughts weren't at all optimistic about the near future, but Ed could fix that. If she just stayed, his future would be bright again. He could already see it; they'd go for walks, he'd take her out to dinner, they'd laugh and yell at each other, he'd have to endure her complains about whatever it was that was annoying her at that moment, and so on.

When Ed was taken away...What was left for him?

Ed growled, irritatingly throwing a shirt in the suitcase. "I don't know why you're being such a bitch about this. It's not like I'm the one who sent me on this mission!" She gave him a pointed look, scowl firmly in place.

Roy scowled right back. "Of all the times you're willing to obey, it has to be this time!? You could've just told me to fuck off like you usually do and all would be well!"

The look she gave him was purely incredulous, hints of amusement more than evident. "You want me to disobey you? Well sorry, I thought that the last eight years you've been trying to get me to obey you, not disobey you." She smirked, standing up and crossing her arms over her chest. "I think I've been doing a good job with that."

Roy glared. "Well, this time you aren't," he pointed out, positively pouting.

Why couldn't she get it? Why did she want to leave? Did she actually want to go to that isolated little town that didn't have her favourite chocolate, her favourite brownies and, most of all, her favourite Roy?

Ed rolled her eyes, blowing a strand of hair out of her face. "A mission is a mission, bastard. I'll be back in two weeks." With that she shut her suitcase loudly, placing her hands on her sides. "Done."

Roy was starting to panic, his mind suddenly working a mile a minute as he watched Ed pick the suitcase up. She strolled past him, and he heard her footsteps as she descended the stairs. Roy ran quickly to keep up with her, his heart pounding.

"Eeeedd," he moaned sadly, walking down the stairs after her. She was getting her coat, when he came up behind her and enveloped her into a hug. "Don't go."

Ed sighed, her shoulders sagging with the exhale. She glanced at the clock, then cocked her head up to look at his face. "I have an hour till my train."

Roy pouted and tightened his grip on her waist. "Can we cuddle till then?"

Ed heaved another sigh, managing to turn around to face him. "Won't that make it worse for you?"

"If you die, I will have to live with the fact that I spent our last moments together not cuddling."

Ed couldn't help but laugh at that, making Roy pout further. She didn't understand the stress Roy would feel, sitting in a chair all day wondering where Ed was. His brain had a tendency to overthink when he was bored, and he did tend to be bored at work.

"You know," Ed smiled, hugging him back and looking up at him, her chin resting on his chest. "I could have never imagined what a clingy boyfriend you would be."

Roy offered a small smile at that, hugging her closer. "I could've never imagined I'd fall completely in love with you."

As expected, Ed turned a sweet red, her cheeks flushing in that adorable way. It reminded him of when they first started going out, when neither of them knew if this was a good or terrible idea, but hoped their mutual feelings would lead to something. Ed would be so shy, blushing and unable to look him in the eye.

The memory made him smile wider as he gazed at Ed, who had opted for playing with a loose string on his shirt. He really didn't want her to leave...

All of a sudden, she glared at him. "Great, now I don't wanna leave either."

Roy nuzzled her neck in his happiness, and stared pulling her towards the couch. She didn't seem to mind.

As they sat snuggled up on the couch, with Ed's head resting on his chest, her petite frame curled up next to him under the blanket, Roy wished she disobeyed his orders more often.
