This is it guys, the final chapter... the end... I want to thank each and every one of you, for the reading, reviewing, following etc... It has been a mixed 5 months and this last month has been particularly hard (thank you again for all your kind words and well wishes). I won't lie to you I am sad this is coming to an end, it will be strange not to write or update. But as they say all good things must come to an end, NOW, I just hope this is a fitting end to the piece... I hope you guys enjoy it and have enjoyed the whole story... so thank you so much.

8 months later.

Oliver was pacing. His fists clenched by his side, there was nothing he could do. For once in his life he felt helpless. One minute he was staring into the eyes of the woman he loved, holding their new born son. Son. He was a father now. His heart pounded in his chest at the new found love and protectiveness he felt. Then he remembered. Her eyes fell heavy and the machines started beeping. His son was taken from her arms and he was ushered out of the room.
And here he was pacing just outside, it felt like an eternity until the doors opened and several people rushed out, but not a single one turned to look at him. He angrily punched the wall, before he continued his frantic pacing. After everything he'd be through he couldn't lose her. Not now. When the door finally opened again Oliver stood directly in front of it essentially blocking the doctor's exit.

"Oh Mr Queen!" She said with a shake of her head, Oliver took a step back. "Your wife..."

"She isn't my wife." The doctor frowned at him. "What I mean is that is what she would say, if she heard you. Not that we aren't together or in love we are, she just hasn't been too struck on the idea of marriage. Not from lack of trying on my part, I have asked her quite a few times though." The doctors confused eyes but soft smile stopped Oliver, he ran a hand down his face. "Sorry it would appear I have caught one of my wives, I mean partners, nervous habits." The doctor smiled warmly at him.

"Your partner is fine, her blood pressure dropped which is why she felt slightly dizzy and the machines beeped. She just needs some rest, it was a long labour."

"Good and our son?"

"Oh he's a perfectly healthy little boy, sound asleep in the crib next to your wi- partner."

"Thank you doctor." Oliver said enthusiastically shaking the ladies hand.

"No problem Mr Queen." He walked into the room silently and found that Felicity was sound asleep. She looked a little pale but at least she was peacefully resting. He walked around the room, glancing at his son sound asleep wrapped in a blue blanket a small white hat on his head.

"I'll protect you and mummy, always." He whispered as he took a seat in the chair beside them both. He grabbed the newspaper glancing through the articles.

Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak were seen rushing into the hospital last night, and I think it's safe to assume baby Queen is on her/his way, if not already here! But we most definitely can conclude with parents like those this is going to be one smoaking hot kid! (Pun intended).

Oliver shook his head, skipping the article and flicking through the pages. His heart stopped when his eyes caught another article title: Why won't she marry Mr Queen?

He read the next line, an exclusive interview with Felicity Smoak. He glanced at his beautiful partner asleep and he frowned, feeling slightly shocked.

8 months ago Oliver Queen lost his father and the Queens, their family company. What is inspiring is that Oliver didn't give up, after his accident and then this terrible attack; it's a wander that he found the strength to carry on. But he did, now he's heading a new company, rebuilding the business, starting a family and things finally seem to be looking up for Mr Queen. His new business Queen Incorporated, is starting to look more official as the building starts to near its completion, so Miss Smoak, why did Mr Queen chose to build QI?
F: Well, in all honesty, it was a decision he made. He wanted to carry on his father and family's legacy plus the workers that it left jobless he wanted to help them. So to thank the workers for everything, they have done so much for his father, he gave them shares. And obviously the board members still have shares, and Oliver is CEO, and basically he wanted to be better than before. He wants a fresh start.
So you're a good influence on him?
F: *chuckles* Everyone says that but Oliver has always had this light inside of him, it's just taken till now for him to really see it.
But you always saw it?
F: Not always, sometimes life gets in the way. We were all young and stupid once. But here and now, that's all that matters and that light shines more than ever.
So true, there is a lot of controversy saying you slept your way to the top, that your skills aren't adequate enough to head the IT division of the company and be deputy head of the applied science division.
F:
I've heard that a lot, but in all honesty I studied hard. I finished top of my class with my degree and masters in computer science. Even as Oliver's EA I brought in investors. I've always been good at my job; I have had multiple offers from around the world but family, loyalty that means more to me. Oliver and the Queens are my family now. I hope that my skills show people the real reason I was promoted, once QI is up and running.
We all know you two are a couple and well you're pregnant.
F: Yep, couldn't hide the bump for too long.
So can you tell us what you're having?
F: You're as bad as Oliver. *laughs* No I can't because it's a surprise, we don't even know.
But you're both very happy?
F: Yes, I don't think there is a time when I have ever felt this happy. Felt like I belonged. Not that I wasn't happy or anything before, I just… Oliver makes life so much brighter.
Awww and I see you two have brought a home together.
F: Yes, well we couldn't stay in my flat and Oliver's penthouse isn't exactly baby friendly. But we've practically been living together for the last 6 months and we thought why not.
So you're living together and having a baby, is marriage next on the list?
F:
Well... We don't have a list and we aren't exactly the most conventional of couples. All we know is that we're 100% committed to each other, we love each other and we'll see where life takes us.
There are rumours that Oliver has proposed multiple times.
F: Yep he has and I said no.
Can I ask why?
F:
Because when he first asked I wasn't ready, and then since then I just wasn't sure how I felt. I love Oliver; I love our life, and marriage? Well I come from a broken home. So marriage wasn't always portrayed in the best light, but someone once told me marriage is different for everyone, and it can work with the right person. *smiles coyly* so you never know. *she shrugs*
Last question you aren't known for doing many articles, in fact any... So why chose to do it now?
F: Because we wanted privacy, we still do. But we can't hide away forever. Oliver doesn't even know I'm doing this, purely because I want him to read this and know not everything is bad. That I love him and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. So if that means occasionally having to do press work, I don't mind. *rubs her belly absentmindedly* I mean as long as we don't get hurt, and what we want to keep private, like this little one, is kept private then talking, well that's what I'm known for.

Oliver couldn't help smiling at the remarkable woman lay in the bed beside him. She truly was amazing, and it was thanks to her that Oliver was able to walk again, able to rebuild his, their company. She was truly humble about how much she did for him. A small tap on the door snapped his eyes away.

"Can I come in?" Dig whispered from the door way.

"Of course." Oliver replied in a hushed voice. Diggle stepped in glancing at a sleeping Felicity and her son.

"Lyla was wandering why her top agent and IT expert weren't answering their calls then we saw the news." Diggle beamed.

"Ah sorry about that."

"Hey no big deal we have other workers." He shrugged. "He's beautiful man." Dig patted Oliver on the back before Oliver turned to him and the two had a brief hug.

"Thanks. Everything seems..."

"Different?"

"Yes."

"I was the same when Sara was born, your whole life changes."

"And I'm thankful it has."

"Well remember Lylas cut your hours back for emergencies, and plans, basically you're a glorified Agency member now."

"Thank you."

"No need. It's the least you two deserve… and the Inferno got in touch."

"He did?" Diggle nodded pulling a letter from his jacket and handing it to Oliver.

"It's for her, he managed to get it back here and no-one has touched it we obviously had it tested and it's clear but nobody has opened it." He nodded placing it in his own pocket.

"Will you let him know he has a grandson?"

"We'll try." He smiled softly. "We'll be back later man; you guys should get some rest."

"Thanks." Oliver replied as Diggle stepped out the room. Oliver sat back in his seat, watching his family sleeping peacefully as his own eyes felt heavy.

A baby screaming caused Oliver to bolt upright. He quickly scanned the room in a defensive stance his eyes landed on Felicity nursing their son. Her free hand shot out towards Oliver.

"Hey... It's okay, we're okay." He instantly placed his hand in hers as she squeezed it lightly. He leant forward placing a soft kiss to her lips, then placing an even softer one to his sons head. His big blue eyes glanced up at them.

"He's beautiful just like his mother." He smiled.

"Handsome like his father you mean."

"I read your interview." Felicity dropped her head slightly.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, it's just I know what you're like protecting us and-" his hand squeezed hers as he sat on the bed beside her legs.

"It's fine." He smiled leisurely.

"You think so? Did I do well?"

"You were great, the questions weren't too bad and you answered them perfectly. You gave them enough to keep them at bay but not enough for them to be intrusive."

"Exactly." She smirked.

"Though, the title was quite a shock." Felicity frowned slightly, "Why won't she marry Mr Queen?" She chuckled to herself.

"Really? That was the title?" He nodded. "I didn't think she'd actually name it that."

"What?"

"I told her that would grab people's attention, I was kidding."

"Yes well I got the shock of my life."

"Oh come here." She pulled him in placing another soft kiss upon his lips as their son was between both their beating hearts. "I love you Oliver."

"I love you too." He whispered against her lips. There was a gentle tapping on the door. They pulled apart slowly as Chloe's head came around the corner.

"Can we all come in?"

"If you don't mind seeing a bit of boob, I'm breast feeding." The door opened as Chloe and Ray stepped in.

"Well it's a totally natural process so you shouldn't be ashamed." Ray said his eyes staying completely on Oliver as he walked over to him shaking his hand in congratulations. Then Iris followed them with Barry right behind all carrying balloons and teddies. Then in came Lyla and Diggle, with Sara strapped to his chest. The women cooed and awed over Felicity and their son as Oliver talked to the men. The guys all turned their backs as Felicity covered herself and Oliver gently burped their son over his shoulder, rubbing his back tenderly.

"We have some news." Chloe and Iris said at the same time. Felicity's eyes looked between the two.

"Well go on whoever wants to go first." Felicity smiled.

"You go Iris." Chloe nodded. "Oh and Sara and Nyssa send their regards, they said they'll be here as soon as possible." Felicity nodded as she glanced over at Oliver as their tiny son was curled on his shoulder. Her heart clenched in her chest at the beautiful scene before her. Barry moving beside Iris caught her attention back.

"Well... Iris and I... We're a couple." Barry said smiling warmly at Felicity. She glanced between the pair before pulling them both in for a hug.

"Finally!" Chloe said, joining their group hug. "It took you two long enough!"

"Is that what you both think?" Iris asked. Both chuckled slightly.

"Iris, the way you two have always been I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner." Felicity smiled and Iris blushed slightly leaning into Barry's side. "But seriously congratulations!"

"Now your turn." Iris said with an easy smile. Ray stood beside Chloe his arms wrapped around her.

"Well I'm pregnant." Chloe said and Felicity and Iris practically screamed.

"How far gone?"

"13 weeks we wanted to be safe you know?"

"Of course." Felicity said softly unable to stop glancing in Oliver's direction. Diggle stood beside him showing him the best way to burp their son.

"Congratulations." Oliver said softly. "To all of you."

"All of us." Chloe corrected with an enormous grin. Then suddenly there was a burp and an awful smell. The group laughed at the look of horror on Oliver's face as his son had been sick down his back.

"I think we should leave you guys to it." Diggle said with a look of recognition of Olivers situation in his eyes.

"Ah yes, it has been a long day for you all." Ray smiled kindly.

"True, but as soon as you figure out a name for this little guy you best let us know." Chloe said trying to sound stern but failing.

"Of course we will." Felicity smiled, they all took turns in holding the baby, as they said their goodbyes to the pair. Lyla and Diggle stayed back slightly.

"I'll go to your place go get you both some fresh clothes." Diggle said warmly.

"You don't have to-"

"Dude the baby sick smell lingers, believe me, you'll want a change of shirt." Oliver nodded.

"Thank you."

"Both of you, for everything, for helping us deal with the Agency, and our lives." Felicity said softly, their son in her arms.

"It's no problem, your father has done a lot for this country, plus your twos skills have been invaluable. The least you deserve now is to take a back seat and enjoy a normal-ish life." Lyla smiled.

"But still thank you." Oliver replied as the pair nodded. They opened the door to leave when a giant blue teddy bear blocked their path, then out popped Tommy.

"Hey guys!" He smiled brightly as he pulled the bear into the room leaving it in a corner, Laurel walked in after carrying more balloons. Diggle and Lyla excused themselves as Tommy walked over to the pair on the bed.

"He's dazzling." Tommy said his eyes sparkling, "I am totally going to rock this Uncle thing." He grinned as he glanced at Laurel who had a matching look of love and wonder on her face.

"He is gorgeous guys, congratulations." She smiled stepping beside Tommy. "Where is Thea? And your mother?"

"Mum has been sorting work for me, and Thea is at university, there both coming here this evening." Oliver answered.

"Ah, makes sense." Laurel said gently stroking the baby's head.

"Here hold him." Felicity said gently placing him in her arms. Tommy looked at them and then at Oliver. He nodded at his friend as he saw that look of longing in his eyes. He knew right there and then that all Tommy had ever wanted was to be with Laurel and have a family of their own. Oliver watched as the pair cooed over his son, looking like a real family. They chatted for awhile till the baby pooped in which Tommy practically ran from the room leaving the 3 laughing. They easily changed the tiny diaper before saying goodbye to the pair.

Finally the small family was left completely alone. In one quick move Oliver pulled his horrible smelly shirt off throwing it on to the chair. Felicity watched him with a smirk, his gloriously toned body making her heart pound, as always.

"I think we should call him Robert." Felicity said softly. Oliver gently slid beside her on the bed.

"No, I think this little guy should have a fresh start."

"Really? Are you sure? Your dad did so much for us-"

"He saved you both yes, but before that he didn't have the best track record. I think the name should be something different." She frowned slightly. "Hey we'll figure it out." He said softly wrapping an arm around her. She leant into his side, gently kissing the tattoo above his heart.

"We always do."

"Oh Dig dropped this off earlier I thought you best read it alone." She frowned as he pulled the letter from his pocket holding it out for her. She took it with her free hand, as Oliver gently took their son laying him ever so gently on his bare chest. She took a moment to appreciate the scene in front of her. Of the man she loved and their son, how different this all seemed to a year ago, how much love she felt in this tiny space, how much she adored these 2 men in her life. She looked at the letter in her hands.

"What is it?"

"A letter from your father." Her eyes widened.

"Oliver I..."

"It's okay. I'm right here; you don't have to read it yet not if you don't want to." She looked at him as she felt his arm around her, safe and warm surrounded by him she gently opened the envelope.

My dearest Felicity,
If you're reading this then hopefully this letter reached you. There are not enough words in this world that I could use to apologise for what I put you and your mother through. There isn't a single day I don't regret it, and I know now you understand why I left and in all honesty I do not want you to accept my apologises nothing should have kept me from you, but I am truly sorry.
I need you to know I am proud of you, I wanted to keep you from the dangers of this life but I see that you somehow managed to get involved in it anyway. Oliver is a good man, truly he is, he is better than a lot of the agents I've met and the way he spoke of you. I knew even then he loved you, I cannot fault you for falling in love. I hear I'm going to be a grandfather and it is yet another reason for me to carry on here to protect you all.
There isn't a single day I don't think about you and your mother but she can never know. I'm sorry you have to keep this from her and others but you have Oliver now and your child. If there is one piece of advice I could give you my dear it is: never ever give up on your family. You will spend the rest of your life regretting it if you don't embrace them whilst you can. Take it from someone who lives with the weight of his decision on his shoulders every day. I convinced myself that leaving saved you but it also meant I lost you anyway, so please embrace your new family. I have faith in both you and Oliver to be able to protect you all.
So my dearest daughter, know that I love you, and everything I have done is to help you all. Just know that I am the happiest man in the world right now at the thought of being a grandfather, so take care. I will love you forever and always.
Your Dad x.

Felicity turned to Oliver then the tears running down her cheek.

"Hey it's okay." Oliver said softly, "he loves you, I told you he was okay." She leant into Olivers side as his hand pulled her closer. They sat staring at their son, feeling completely and utterly consumed by the love around them. She tilted her head up towards Oliver seeing the matching look of love and devotion dancing around his awe struck eyes.

"Oliver?" He smiled down at her.

"Yes..."

"I know I've said no so many times now, the romantic restaurant, the picnic at Evergreen Valley, that lazy Sunday morning in bed, and I know you are probably frustrated with me-"

"Hey I am never frustrated." He frowned softly unsure where this conversation was going.

"Well I was wondering..." He nodded her to continue. "Oliver Jonas Queen, I love you, and I want us to be one family, I never want to lose you and if I do, I want us to be had been a proper family. So will you be my husband?" Oliver couldn't help the small laugh that escaped him.

"Did you just propose to me?" He smiled.

"I errr... Yes, well we haven't always been the couple that does things the right way... I..." Olivers lips crashing on to hers stopped her. She caressed his cheek tenderly as he pulled away, unable to stop grinning, his whole face lit up. "Will you marry me Oliver?" She smiled.

"Of course." He replied without hesitation. She leant forward placing a tender kiss to his lips. "I do have a ring but it's just not here." She chuckled.

"That's okay."

"What changed your mind?" He asked as Felicity leant on his shoulder her hand coming to rest a top of his on their sons back.

"This, here and now counts the most. And it took that letter to realise this, you, are all I ever truly wanted, all I will ever truly need."

"Me too." He whispered into her ear as she tucked her head under his chin.

Neither of them had ever felt so at peace as they did right then with their son safely in their arms and the love of their lives beside them. They knew no matter what life had to throw at them now they'd get through it all, because finally they had realised that they needed each other, wanted each other and that life was better, brighter with the other apart of it.
