River was sitting on one of the squishy library sofas with her legs across her husbands, watching him as he read aloud the book he was holding. She chuckled, making him look up at her, a little childish frown creasing his face.

"What?" River chuckled again.

"Nothing." He raised one sceptical eyebrow.

"What!" River couldn't help but throw her head back and laugh at her frustrated husband.

"You!" she laughed. "Sitting here in that bright turquoise bow tie and that ridiculous fez, reading out loud. You're hilarious." He scowled at her.

"Fez's are cool," he mumbled defensively.

"Yeah," she grinned. "And fun to shoot." She twirled her gun idly around a finger, smirking at him. The Doctor snatched the gun from her hand and lobbed it over their heads beyond the pool and behind a bookcase at the far end of the Library.

"Hay!" River exclaimed. She grinned devilishly at him and yanked the fez from his head in retaliation, springing up from his lap away from him.

"Not fair!" he yelled, jumping up after her.

He chased her around the bookcases towards the edge of the pool where he caught her by the hand and pulled her into him, holding her arms behind her back.

"Well done sweetie," she grinned up at him, her chest rising and falling with her heavy breathing. "What are you going to do with me now Doctor?" He looked wickedly down into her eyes and, planting a swift kiss on her lips, he scooped her up into his arms and dropped her unceremoniously into the pool.

When she surfaced she shook the water from her hair, glaring at him.

"You are in so much trouble." She jumped up and grabbed his hand, pulling him head first into the water with her. He came to the surface coughing and spluttering.

"You little dalek!" he yelled, and he wasted no time in tugging her once again under the water. He pulled her towards him and kissed her, so that when they finally resurfaced they were still locked together.

When the parted River had her arms locked around his neck and she chuckled.

"You are so going to pay for this."

"I'm looking forward to it," he grinned. River rolled her eyes and splashed at him playfully.

"I bet you are."

As the Doctor wiped the water from his eyes he watched his wife climb out of the pool and shrug her soaked dress from her shoulders. He was unable to tear his eyes from the exquisite lines and curves of her body, of her hair, her back, her hips, as she sauntered away from him.

She pulled a towel loosely around herself and looked over her shoulder.

"Coming sweetie?" He climbed out of the pool and followed her obediently towards their bedroom, kicking the door shut behind him.
