So, I'm typing this up as I watch Wild Kratts, don't judge... I hope you enjoy this.

'So much for a date,' Remus thought to himself as he looked at the looming mansion.

Sirius had suggested they go to a haunted mansion together as a date. He said it would be fun, that he was curious of why the Muggles loved them. Remus froze, not wanting to go any farther than the front gates.

"What's wrong Moony?" Sirius teased, nudging the other slightly. "Not scared are you?"

"Extremely. Can we go home now?"

Sirius shook his head, pulling his wand from his black cloak. "If anything happens I'll protect you."

"Sirius, that's a bad idea."

"Nonsense," Sirius laughed, grabbing Remus by the elbow and dragging him forward. They passed a couple, the woman dressed as a zombie cheerleader and the man dressed as the Grimm Reaper. He watched Sirius and Remus with a cold look, twisting his scythe threateningly.

Remus hoped it was just an act. His stomach decided to try out for the Olympics. "Sirius... Please."

"Come on Remus, if it's that bad I'll sleep in the dog house for the rest of the week. What's the worst that could happen?" Remus muttered slightly but allowed Sirius to take him farther.

The first few rooms weren't too bad; a few lame zombies and a couple of clowns. They went into the next room and Remus froze again.

"Moony? You aren't scared of a couple of scorpions are you?"

"A couple? They're all over the bloody floor!"

"And in the cobwebs." Sirius said with a faraway look. "And on the walls and-"

"Not helping," Remus grit out.

"Right. They're plastic anyway, they can't hurt you." Sirius hugged Remus around the shoulders. "Come on, we're almost through."

Remus nodded an they continued, then he stopped in the doorway, sniffing the air. "I-I smell blood."

Sirius looked at him funny. "Fake blood? It's kind of everywhere..."

"No... Real blood." Remus looked up at the black haired man. "Lots of it."

Sirius blinked doubtfully and dragged Remus with him. He spotted the large glistening pool of blood, too much to have come from one body. "That's not... From a human, is it?" The flicker of movement warned them they were not alone.

Remus gulped. "Let's get out of here."

Sirius nodded, hugging his boyfriend's shoulders tighter and glared into the shadows. They Apparated to Sirius'. A moment of silence and watching Remus pace before Sirius spoke again. "I'll sleep in the doghouse."

"No," Remus grabbed his wrist. "You aren't going anywhere."

Sirius smiled softly. "No I'm not."
