I've got my life back in track, which means faster updates! :D
I'm enjoying the story. I'm also adding Trish/Christian more into this because I think they're cute. Maybe others, but I'm not sure.
Jeff stumbled back into his hotel room, obvious that Matt was waiting for him. The younger Hardy quickly started to discard his shirt, he went for his pants but Matt cleared his throat. Jeff clumsily turned around, grabbing the wall to steady himself.
His face went from surprised to a smug look. "Well if it isn't my good brother Matty. What are you doing here? Did you and that sexy little redhead have another fight? I wouldn't be surprised." Jeff confessed, not really aware of what he said.
Matt gritted his teeth, not really appreciating his brothers confession.
He let it slide. "The only reason I'm here is because she told me to come here. What the hell do you think you're doing? You know you're not suppose to drink anymore!"
Jeff sighed, pushing his brother out of his way to get to the other side of the room. "I can do what I want, I'm not a little kid anymore."
"But Lita's worried!"
Jeff tensed up. "I'm worried, Adam's worried, hell, even mom and dad are worried."
This time Jeff flinched. He and his parents had a big upset a few months back and he haven't bothered calling them back when they left countless messages, a few weeks later, they gave up.
Jeff turned around, glaring at him angrily. "Why do you care? You only care because everyone else does."
"I care, because like it or not, I'm your older brother." Matt softly sighed. "I do care."
Jeff suddenly felt less and less drunk as his anger grew. "Cut the act, Matt. Lita may believe you but I see right through you, you're nothing but a god damn cheater. What, surprised? I knew all along."
Matt did nothing but smirk, a smirk that made Jeff want to punch it off his face.
"I'm not surprised you knew, but what are you going to do? She wants to marry this cheater. So what if I'm cheating, she's too gullible anyways to believe that I would cheat on her. Jeff, you know what, I think I'm going to propose to her just a few days after the wedding."
Matt walked to the door, turning back to him. "She won't believe you if I tell her that you like her. There's nothing you can do, Jeff. She loves me, not you."
Matt left and shut the door.
Jeff yelled loudly, kicking the t.v stand and knocked over the t.v. He didn't care that he heard a crack and went to the door, kicking it open and tried to find Matt. When he didn't find him, he let out a low growl.
"Jeff?"
Jeff turned around and his face softened.
"Torrie, why are you on this floor? Aren't you staying a couple floors up from here."
She nodded. "I was actually going to see you."
He didn't say anything and she continued. "I seen you walk into the lobby, and clearly you were drunk. I just wanted to check if you made it back to your room, that's all."
Jeff smiled. She was so sweet sometimes.
He noticed how she fidgeted in her spot, clearly wanting to say something. He waited but remembered back to why he was angry. He sighed, "Torrie. Thanks for checking up on me, but I need to go down to the ATM to take some money out. I just broke the t.v."
Torrie gasped. "Now why did you do that?"
"Matt found out that I was drinking and we got into a little argument." Jeff gave a look, telling her he didn't want to continue with the topic.
She nodded. "Did he now?"
"Yeah. I get irritated when he tries to tell me what to do, I ain't a little kid anymore."
Torrie shook her head, a smile on her face. "He's just worried. You shouldn't be too hard on him."
Jeff was tired of hearing her talk about him so he said his goodbye and left to the stairs. Once he got to the lobby he went straight to the ATM, pulled out his card and took 500 out, that was all he had, and he sure it wasn't going to cover the t.v stand and flat screen.
He walked towards the door, pulling out a lighter.
He felt a pair of hands past him and grabbed the lighter.
"Hey! What the fuck, Christian. Give it back."
Christian tossed it to Trish, who glared at the thing and threw it in the trash. She motioned back to the money. "Where the hell do you think you're going with all that cash. You're stupid if you think we're going to let you drink it all away."
Jeff shook his head. "I was just going out for a smoke."
Christian rolled his eyes. "And we all knows that leads to you drinking. Seriously Jeff, we want you to be able to live longer to see our kids grow up."
Trish blushed but quickly went back to subject. "Come on Jeff. Just go back to your hotel room and get some rest, you already smell like alcohol."
Jeff handed her the large pile of cash and mumbled an apology. "You might need that later. It won't cover it all, but it's all I have."
Trish gave him a look, "What?"
"I broke the t.v."
Trish gave an irritated sigh, but nodded. "Is that why you smell like alcohol?"
Jeff stuffed his hands in his pocket. "No. I had a talk with Matt and it didn't turn out well."
Trish raised a brow and he nodded. She looked at Christian, "Christian, honey. I'm going to have a chat about Jeff about the t.v. Wait for me back at the room okay?"
He nodded and kissed her. "Don't keep me waiting."
She stared at him until he left and turned back to Jeff. She struggled with putting the money in a neat pile to keep it from falling and motioned for him to a more private place to talk.
"What happened, honey?"
Jeff looked down. "Matt admitted to cheating."
"He told you."
Jeff nodded. "After I accused him he was smug about it, and he said he's going to marry Li."
Trish glared. "Lita would never agree."
Jeff sighed. "She told me herself that she wanted a future with him."
Trish gave a sad look. "I'm so sorry that you had to hear her say that Jeff."
"I think I'll try it out with Torrie."
Trish glared, but nodded. She took time to find the right words to not offend him. "I don't feel right about Torrie, something's off. But I won't stop you from trying to find happiness. I have to go, it's getting late. I'll talk to you tomorrow." She leaned in to give his cheek a soft kiss. "Hang in there."
Jeff went the other direction back to his room, a heavy feeling in his heart. He was sad that he left himself get into this position, that he didn't tell Lita his feelings sooner before things got serious between her and his brother. But he felt even more bad that Lita wanted a future with Matt when he wasn't faithful.
