EPILOGUE...WHY!...

*Two months later

The mess hall was filled with happy chatter and murmurs, everything was back to normal, there was no current fight between the heir and his girlfriend and everything seemed to have gone back to their right places, and by everything it meant that snotlout was back to his usual flirting antics.

On the teens table hiccup was not seated with them because his dad had called him for chief training, snotlout seated on the left hand side of astrid took this as an opportunity and closed the space that kept them apart and slung his arm around astrid. Said person paused her conversation with ruffnut and turned to give a death glare to snotlout.

"Hey there babe" He said, "how's life been to you"

"Fine, that is until you spoke to me and ruined my day" she replied with and eye roll " and get your hand off me, unless you don't want to use it to work today I suggest you get it off" she added darkly.

Snotlout quickly removed his hands, but a smirk quickly appeared as he did this.

"Yeah astrid, I was wondering if you wanted to go out on a date with..." "No" his

sentence was cut off by Astrid's sharp respond.

"But you said yes the last time I had asked you" astrid shivered "why, not now"

Astrid's brows came together for a glare "BECAUSE I DON'T MAKE SILLY MISTAKES LIKE THAT ANYMORE YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF BULLSH!T " she screamed.

She grabbed snotlout's neck and pulled him close to her face.

"Now let me make this clear..."

"No astrid, I think it's time I did this" hiccup's voice was suddenly heard.

Everyone in the mess Hall that was previously occupied with Astrid's shouting match turned their heads simultaneously to their next chief. No one could recognize hiccup because he had a frown on, knuckles gripped so hard that they were turning white, and with a glare that would make the devil whimper.

Shocked by his appearance, astrid let go of her grip on snotlout and went to hiccup, but when she got close, he had put his hand out, signaling that she should stop.

Hiccup had taken short dangerous steps to snotlout and everyone in the hall held their breaths, suspense and anticipation flowing through their veins.

When he had finally reached his destination, snotlout had fear in his eyes, an emotion hiccup spotted easily, which made him give out a mischievous but still deadly smirk

"Snotlout..." the addressed boy took a few steps backward which made hiccup move forward which continued until snotlout was cornered on the walls. No one had expected this, it wasn't everyday that you see the peace keeper of Berk pick a fight with snotlout or well... ANYONE.

Hiccup slowly opened his mouth and the dangerously said words that were to come out of his mouth had everyone leaning on their seats.

"Astrid had warned you to stay away from her, am I correct?" snotlout nodded vigorously

"And have you done that" snotlout shook his head in shame

"You do know we're dating, right?"

"Yes..." was his feeble answer.

"Well there will be a punishment for you" his eyes grew dark, by this time snotlout was shaking in fear.

"I'm sorry, please forgive me, I will never do it again, I was stupid and dumb for doing it, please hiccup I'm..."Snotlout was cut off when hiccup's fist came in contact with is face, with knocked him out, he laid there unconscious.

Few seconds passed and there was a giant roar of cheers in the mess hall.

"He finally got a backbone"

"Now that's the quality of a good leader"

"Didn't know you had it in 'yer"

"Hiccup marry me, I love you"

Astrid had ignored all the comments (but vowed to rip out the hair of the person who had said the last comment)

"How was that for a jealous boyfriend"

"I wouldn't have you any other way" the both smiled and looked into each others eyes, soon they were wrapped up in a kiss

'ooooooos' and 'awwwwwwwws' were heard though out the hall.

"ok ok, get a room you two" ruff and tuff screamed.

"Three cheers for our next chief" a random person called out

"Hip hip, hooray"

The news spread fast among the villagers, about how hiccup had defended his woman and had knocked out snotlout, also adding that snotlout had been in a coma for about a day, snotlout refused to talk to anyone for a week.

When Chief Stoick heard this from Gobber, he had spat out this mead and said "That's not true,are you sure it's my son yer yapping about, or about a lad in the village that I haven't met yet, that's more reasonable than my son beating up snotlout, for Odin's sake its SNOTLOUT " than his hearty laugh boomed throughout the hall, but Gobber merely shook his head because it would oily be a myth to those who had not witnessed it with their own eyes.

Hiccup had heard of this, but he did not care, even though it took him about a month of getting the fake glare right and how to keep it and also learning how to throw a punch, it was worth it knowing that astrid who was now laying beside him looking at the stars was happy that he would and could do any thing for her

"Hey hiccup" Astrid called

"huh..." hiccup was pulled out of his thoughts " yeah astrid"

"Thanks, you know... For what you did for me in the hall"

Hiccup couldn't help but smile at Astrid's shyness, it was good to know that she could reveal her vulnerable side, and the fact that she only did it when he was around made him feel special.

"You're welcome astrid"

Astrid couldn't help but cherish the man laying next to her, he had told her how much time he spent in his room just glaring at the wall, and how sometimes his dad would catch him in the act and ask him if he were ok and he would have to come up with a lame excuse which would make his dad look at him suspiciously.

Yes she truly loved him. "hiccup"

"yeah"

"I love you" hiccup couldn't help but smile

"I love you too Astrid, so much more than you can comprehend.
