A/N: This is a short drabble, of sorts. Another exercise piece. Takes place after Pan has switched back into his own body, BUT he pretends that it didn't work. He pretends he is still Henry inside his body and seeks out Belle.
"Belle!"
The woman in question looked up from a book she was researching in to see Peter Pan standing there, but something wasn't quite right. The expression on his face, his whole demeanor was... different. He was acting familiar with her as though he was still, Henry.
"Stay back!" she yelled nonetheless, her hand extended before her. Her instincts had just been thrown for a loop with this body switching business, that was all. The wand must have worked. Rumple surely was the one who knew how. Unless...
"It's me Henry, the spell didn't work. Pan came in and used his magic on Mr. Gold. He took the wand and then he left. He said he was going to kill everyone!"
He was prepared for another cross-examination. Some stupid question to which only the real Henry would know the answer, but it never came. Whether it was his acting abilities convincing Belle, or the complexity of the situation throwing her off, he couldn't tell, but she immediately eased up and walked over to him.
"Henry?" she explored his eyes, as if she expected to find the boy staring back at her through them. Trying to stay as calm as possible, he gave her his best innocent smile. The one he'd seen Henry use when he talked about his family, back in Neverland. When she gifted him with a smile of her own, he relaxed his muscles and slowly let out the breath he'd apparently been holding.
"Oh my god, we have to warn the others. Come on."
As she walked past him, he acted swiftly. He pulled her backwards by her hair, grabbed his knife and held it against Belle's throat. "Bit naive aren't you, bookworm. What would Rumple say of that I wonder."
Belle closed her eyes and then looked upwards, not believing how on earth she could've been so stupid. Of course it was Pan! No. No time to beat herself up over it. She needed to get away, and fast. In the rush of the moment she dug the heel of her shoe into his foot and he let her go briefly, only to catch her by her jacket once more and throw her against the wall with quite a bit of force.
"Oh that was quick thinking. You'd do a father in law proud"
"I'm not..."
"Married? Yes I know, it's tragic how long he's waited to ask you. Perhaps he never will. Perhaps he's too much of a coward to, or... perhaps he simply doesn't love you enough to bind himself to you for the rest of his life."
Belle struggled against his grip.
"Oh yes please, do feel free to escape. It's a lot of fun watching you try."
Belle willed herself to look into his eyes. What she saw there was pure evil. Then it dawned on her. Pan was planning to kill her just to hurt Rumple. She could not believe how a father could be so cruel to his son. She shivered when he caressed her cheek.
"Such a pretty face, I can see why Rumple stuck with you for this long. Can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees your lifeless body gutted on the floor though."
A tear rolled down Belle's cheek. "What did he ever do to you, to make you hate him so much?"
Pan contemplated that question for a moment, studying her face with his dark stare and took a step closer to her, invading her personal space.
"He was born."
