Chapter 4 : Her Existence

It was a burning sunset. The color of fiery crimson painted the exterior of the magnificent Kou Empire palace.

Fiery light jade was the color of his burning gaze. Fine silk robe brushed the surface of the carpet. Foot steps firmly and with confidence stride forward, the King, his brother and followers. He was returning from one of his conquest. Along the grand hall way of many ornament and firm pillars supporting the high skies above them , soldiers bowed their heads, some with fear and some with respect. He, the King that all had hopes in and believed in to lead them into a united world.

Eyes were piercing with burning passion. Something had ticked him off. Something had happened outside his knowledge. They got him, he admitted. Two things he had learn from this incident. It was a reckless yet bold statement from them; Al- Thamen.

He and one of his trusted brother walked into a chamber, leaving behind his households vessels. A chamber for the deceased. Red lanterns lit up in each side of an altar. It gave a well deserve atmosphere for such a room.

"What's the meaning of this?" The Brother and King spoke, demanding explanation regarding the accident. Stood in front of the Al-Thamen pawns. They were by a covered up bed with a body lay on it.

Al-thamen pawn answered with a bow of respect first and then revealing a big grin "Yes, my Lord. we were chasing a potential spy... to interrogate her and clearing our doubt... for the Kou Empire sake it was necessary." One of the Pawns said with such pleasure plastered in his face, almost not denying the sinister of the plot.

"And who is this spy you are referring to?" Koun smirk almost challenging.

"Non other than she, who is one of the Princess of this land. The Eighth Princess, Lord Kouen."

"Don't make mistakes." Koen's spoke turned in a manner of threat in his tone of voice.

"Ah but it is a mere speculation that turned out to be somewhat true.."

"Where's your proof?" Koumei stepped into the conversation.

Silent.

Grin was all he got as an answer.

"... Where is she?" asked Komei's Brother and King. At that moment beside the Al-Thamen minions from behind the curtain, entered Ka Koubun with his hands behinds his back. It was clear that he was restrained. Kouen noticed his ragged outfit and his appearance as if he had undergo a battle. He put down his knee on the ground.

"K-Kouen-sama...! P-Princess Kougyoku, Princess Kougyoku...died in burning fire...!" He wailed. Tears visible in his eyes.

Koumei hiding his expression with his fan but his eyes were visible and it was not welcoming in upon the servant's entrance . Kouen took a notice to his brother odd behavior to the situation.

"This is what he was trying to say, Koen-sama." One of the Al-Thamen minion open up a screen behind them. There laid something under a white sheet of cloth. It was smelled of a burning flesh.

They revealed something under the cloth. A caracoled body being laid, unrecognizable. One thing was for sure that something sticky on the body of a silk dress that his sister always wore.

Kouen stepped forward passing between Al-Thamen Minion and Ka Koubun, firmly he stood in front of the burned corpse. Eyes locked on the figure that laid still, black as a caracole.

"It seemed that her metal vessel is gone...arising a question of whether or not this is it really the princess though? i have -" One of the Minion spoke with a tone of suspicion but got cut short with Ka Koubun.

"IT'S TRUE! Princess is- Princess is..." Ka koubun jerk out into a cry. "I saw it with my own eyes...princess is really- really..." he slammed his head to the ground and his voice was trembling with desperation.

"Silence." Kouen ordered. The light in his eyes never disappeared. They exchanged gaze for a few seconds. Ka Koubun surprisingly could hold up to Kouen's stare for a few seconds.

"We will commence the funeral for the eighth imperial Princess. That is my order."

"As you wish, Lord Kouen. We will spoke of this to the Empress Gyokuen."

After that Kouen walk out followed by Koumei while Ka koubun being walked out to prison by the guards of course further interrogation.

It was midnight, Kouen's camber still has light flickering through the screen windows. There were no guards and no maids, it was off limits except for his brothers. Inside, Kouen was at his desk with scrolls in hand, koumei had accompanied him.

"I was surprise that he would cry like that..It will not be long before they found out from him." Koumei started with a low voice as if he was talking to himself. "It's surprising that he could hold till now."

"He is not that stupid as I thought he was...Who else knew of this?"

"The two of us, and I had told kouha myself, he is currently on the west base."

Kouen had an instant flashback of What Kougyoku truly like in his eyes. "Traitor...spy...Kougyoku is...? that Kougyoku...?" the image of her smiling goofily, his little sister image stayed. Koumei in the other hand, stopped at his thought and turned his gaze slightly to his brother and king, "What if there is such a possibility...?" this had caught Kouen's attention and willing to hear what his brother had to say, he was the one who noticed that Kougyoku were in trouble and had informed him afterwards. Kouen gave his brother the 'interested in this talk' look.

"Not that I believed that she had the courage to do that, but what if... it's not in her willingness...what if..." Koumei's gaze looked more sinister and serious than usual. Kouen had understood the message.

"Koumei...you said something about a disturbance in Dantalion transfer circle...?"

"...Hm, this is a bit troublesome...at the arrival to the appointed destination in the closed island near Kou Empire my transportation magic was pushed by an unknown force, all I know it cost of a lot of magoi to do it, so I assumed a magician or even ...a Magi." The look in koumei's eyes showed that it was serious matter for him. And yes, he was pissed that someone manage to interfere with his magic and his plans.

Kouen gave un unfitting smirk of irony "...So she is a good as dead to us if she is lost in such a condition."

"I wouldn't call it too fast, all I know is she is she probably transport into the ocean, i could feel it..but for the location is..."

"Because of the disturbance? A magi you say..?"

"It's a possibility. "

"..."

Silent filled the room as the two of them take the opportunity to their own train of thought for their own. A light slam to the table broke the silent atmosphere. Kouen open his mouth after a slight smirk and then followed with a laugh. "Well, well who could it be... Who is behind the spy..."

"She is dead. No more of this talk." Kouen gave his brother a look.

"...Understood."

Footstep nearing closer to their chamber.

"We could not retrieve the Princess's Vessel." Ja'far exclaimed. He had been reporting every detail of the current situation to Sinbad after the incident that took place in the festival two days ago.

Sinbad at his desk stopped his hand in writing some document he was busy with "By that you mean...it's lost?"

"Not exactly. We are trying to retrieve it, not in a conventional way, it seemed it won't be that simple. I have assign Yamuraiha for this task."

"Good call. Though, any intel?" Sinbad said carefully.

"Ah yes, thought we must be careful with this matter Sin, I mean the Princess suddenly transport in such condition and while she was here, there is no sign of alert or disturbance in the Kou Empire as we speak, I had asked a favor of our friend to search more of this matter."

Sinbad put both of his hands in front of his lower face with his finger intertwine with each other's "Perhaps internal conflict has set in..?" squinting his eyes in remembering a certain fellow with a burnt scare that took his interest. He then loosely leaned on his royal chair, one hand on his side cheek supporting half of the weight of his head, another image of a certain organization flashed across his mind.

Ja'far nodded in agreement, his face became a bit dark "Likely that's the best conclusion for now."

A sound of lightning struck could be heard from afar. It was the sound of a storm accumulating.

Sinbad let out a small sigh "It's going to be windy tonight.. By the way, Ja'far is she here already?"

"Yes she is waiting in the guest room. I'm surprised you even considered this, Sin..."

"She could help." He said with the classic Sinbad smile plastered on his face. putting much weight on his hand that supported his head as his mind wandered.

'Please don't interfere, it's her only chance..oh King.' A voice inside his head playing, it was a memory of that time when Sinbad finally able to meet the Guardian. The Princess was in the watery orb the second time on the surface of the ocean. It was through her lips and voice the Guardian spoke.

Sinbad remembered it clearly.

He got his eyes lock on her, he could not look away. Inside the orb, she put up her hands on the orb surface between them. She leaned forward closely as does he. Her figure became clearer before his very eyes. Hair white as the snow. Her eyes became mesmerizing before him. It made him took a gasp and stopped his breathing for a second.

'King Sinbad, this is my second request to you.' the Guardian spook with her voice, it was in a very gentle tone. It made him wanted to listen more. Sinbad stood closely to the orb much to Ja'far's warning that he could tipped over from the boat. He didn't care, he could not afford to get distracted.

'Please let her stay in this land without her past following. After this is over she is not the person she was before, but she will be the person she really is. This is probably her last chance. I'm currently completing her recovery and Vinea's defense mechanism...after this All over she will not remember me...As much I want her to remember me...but it could not be helped, Vinea's defense must be completed to prevent herself from falling. This is the best that I could do for her.'

Sinbad took another surprised gasp. "You mean-"

"I.. I want..I want my friend to be happy. Well then,I'm counting on you King Sinbad..." the Guardian said with a smile. Her smile. The hand she had rested on were pulled back as she closed her eyes and off into a slumber.

A thud bring him back to reality. "Ah sorry you were saying..?"

"I want to met the guardian! tell me all about it! how!?" Yamuraiha said as she approached her King with hoping eyes.

"What's going on...?" Sinbad said confused a bit dumbfounded to see the magician at his presence. He must have been out of it, he didn't even realized that Yamuraiha had entered the room.

"Sin, you're kind off out of it lately... Is something wrong?" Ja'far worried.

"...I just got a few things in my mind is all. And you can't...she left." Sinbad pointed out to Yamuraiha. "But you saw it didn't you, and even talk to it? Just to you, even me and Ja'far wasn't able to hear and saw nothing inside the water membrane." she was now excited.

"Well... I don't know if it were counted as talking to it. She just made me listen to her request."

'To prevent her from falling.' the voice repeated.

"What?! It made a request to you, what for?!" Yamuraiha ready to squeeze more information on this matter but then suddenly the crystal ball on Sinbad's desk glow, the exact same crystal ball that had been given to Aladdin. It's a communication device for every valuable friend of Sindria to share information.

Came a voice through it. "Hello..is this stuff working...must be broken..!" A voice came out from it but the image was shaking violently. Apparently the other end was shaking the crystal ball a bit rough. "It's not! it's perfect. Hey, can you hear me?" Sinbad trying to assured the person at the other end.

"Uh-oh..King Sinbad. I have some information for you...Hello! " the person other end finally saw an image of Sinbad on his palm size crystal communication. The person at the other end was a young successful man (He had a powerful standing in birth, had an important ranked family in his country.) whom had traded with Sindria occasionally, he was considered to be one of the great merchant in the east, according to rumors though but not as great as Sinbad was apparently. But one thing that was clear about the young handsome man, that he never lied in a transaction nor did he ever cheat and always speak of the truth. A very valuable companion for Sindria to lose and because of his personality to be dragged into danger accessional hence the crystal communication plus a bodyguard from Sindria under cover being one of his subordinates. The merchant's name was Fou.

"...Apparently, the eighth imperial princess of Kou Empire is dead." Fou said casually.

"What?!" Ja'far, Sinbad and Yamuraiha was left shocked by the information.

"Are you really certain?"

"Uh-huh...One of my men had a talk, you know the one with the bushy brow, the womanizer..yeah. You get it, the guy from you guys, I think he got his skills copying you King Sinbad. So he saved this servant girl from being robbed and decided to go out drinking. This servant girl said that the eighth imperial Princess had been cremated three days ago. None of the servant and the court lady knew what had happen...the official announcement was that she had taken her own life."

"Suicide?!" Yamuraiha and Ja'far said in union.

"Yeah... but the most important part is that it was odd according the servant girl, as the Princess was not the kind of person that could do such a thing, of course her position was not always the best in the face of the court, but she had never gave up to stand up again to fight. That's why she had such amount of secret admirers among the servants. This news shocked them also."

"This is not right..." Sinbad talking to himself in the moment, all the thing that had been happening rushed in his head like an overflowing water.

"You said it!" Fou exclaimed.

"What is?!"

"The servant girl and some other felt it was weird that the ceremony was held in such a rush, not all the member of the family attended the funeral and the servants was not allowed to witnessed it. Even the Princess's royal attendant was nowhere to be found. But this servant girl saw something before the body was being carried to the cremation chamber. She was sneaking around and accidently got near to the holding chamber. She manage to snuck in and saw the corpse, it was already burnt badly almost unrecognizable before the cremation. Can you imagine that?! So she was found out and using her sneaky moves, by the way did I told you that she was a thief before...uh so yeah, she ran and bumped to bushy brow when she was almost mugged by an assassin disguising as a thief. OH! and get this, there are not even a word spreading in the market or the bar...no one is talking about it...I'm guessing the people is not being informed...yet."

"Are you okay? where are you now, if they found out you—" Ja'far pointed out the dangerous situation Fou was involved in.

"Don't worry! Already left the harbor though after making a huge trading deal, Yeah! You know me- a danger sensor. When danger is around I'm already gone! Hope this is good info for you King Sinbad. O yeah, I'm gonna drop by, See you later, Peace out! kehkehehe—Ahh—!" The communication broke by Fou dropping the Crystal. It was apparent in the visual aspect.

"He still have that creepy laugh and still clumsy—But what's with that?!" Yamuraiha said the first part under her breath and then burst on the next part.

"If it were coming from him, then it must be true." Ja'far then looked more serious than ever.

"This tied the knot. Seems this is related to what the Guardian had requested me." Sinbad said calmly as he stood up and took his step forward to the door signaling Ja'far and Yamuraiha to follow as he go.

"Gather all the Eight Generals and our guest."

'...After this is over she is not the person she was before, but she will be the person she really is...' it had still bothered him. 'What does that mean?' he thought silently.

'Someone is there...'

Her eyes could not described the person's features. It was hazy.

'Who are you?' She asked and this person smiled as he shook his head gently, he then turned his back on her.

'Wait, Don't, don't leave me alone..!' she started to run after that person.

'Don't go! I still need to ask!'

'I need to know—'

She reach out her hands...her body jolted forward.

"CAN WE BE FRIENDS?!" She let out. A white sheet was thrown to the air.

She could feel the person's figure pressing against her. Her face felt tingled, she had buried her face to the person's neck curve, She won't let go not until—

"...We could." The person responded.

She opened her eyes slowly but then widened in an istance as she realized and turned to the side to see the face of the person she had hugged tightly.

"We could." The person—Man spoke again. His voice was clear, of course...his lips was near her ear. His golden eyes were pinned on hers, he smiled. She blinked twice. The Jade colored hair girl immediately knocked to her sense. Blushing furiously. The person's face was too close for comfort.

"Wha— uwaaa!" Loudly she screamed. She pushed herself away with so much force she stumbled off to the other side of the bed and the man still firm on his chair but in gravity sense his back was on the floor. He was accidentally knock over still in his seated position arms still crossing on his chest. He was quite shocked by the scream and his ear was ringing from the after shock. He must admit that her reaction caught him off guard, sometimes. Even the guards outside the room heard it but they not dare to interfere, their inner conclusion were that their King has done it again. He Quickly regain his footing and shifted to the other side of the bed to check up on her. What he saw was a curled up bun of bed sheet covering her whole body. "..." All was his reaction.

The purple haired man leaned slowly, proceed by touching the sheet and lifting it up. He was curious and also confused at the same time. He took a peek "Prince—OUCH!" He shriek in pain as his foot was being struck with a vase that the girl was holding into as she hide under the blanket (she obtained it from the table near her fall). Seeing the man was disturbed with the sudden attack, she found a gap and made a run for it to the other side of the bed and saw the door. Quickly she ran for it, almost grabbing the handle, at the same time the door flung open.

She quickly divert her route to the corner and quickly hide at the corner with the blanket covering her and giving the exterior a dumpling figure.

"Sin-sama! What did you do?!" It was Ja'far. "Nothing!" Sinbad defended immediately as he regained his balance.

"Nothing?" Ja'far walking closer to his King's side.

"I leave you for a second and this happens—eh?" Ja'far took a notice of a curled up blanket bun. It was fidgeting. Ja'far was speechless for a moment at the sight he was seeing. Ja'far glance at his master and Sinbad nodded with such a serious expression in their silent communication.

"Sin-sama! What did—" Ja'far tried again. Silent communication failed.

"I told you, nothing! Not me that is...!" Sinbad defend again, he felt wrongly accused again by his trusted adviser. Ja'far just raised an eyebrow.

Whether Ja'far took it or not Sinbad had to ignore it this time. His foot was not hurting anymore, still there were stings in every step. Sinbad proceed to the princess corner followed by Ja'far.

"P-Please don't come any closer— who are you, Mister?!" Shaking her voice speak up under that curled up blanket, her high pitched voiced convinced Ja'far that she was flustered. So it was concluded in his head that something did happened while he was away.

'Mister!?' Sinbad was shaken by that word. Very shaken, almost froze him where he stood. It hit the spot. His weak spot. Ja'far almost let out a laugh but was failed by his hand covering his mouth.

Sinbad scoffed awkwardly, regained his composure and resume, dismissing the word 'Mister' "Do you not recognize me?" Sinbad leaned forward and put down one knee on the floor as he spoke. This picked up the jade haired girl interest. Slowly she unraveled herself not all to the bottom, her eyes to her nose were the ones visible.

"...No...who might you be Mister?"

Mister Sinbad's eyebrow twitched twice. Twice "Errr..princess..Mister is quite..old sounding don't you think?" Sinbad put up an awkward smile for her. This resulted in her hiding her face once again. So Ja'far stepped in to prevent more of this innocently heart stabbing conversation he ever heard and to calmly handle this matter. Sinbad stepped out for recovery, he taken quite a damage.

"Prince—Um...You don't recognise this person?" Ja'far addressing Sinbad in gesture oh his hand. The girl took another peek and immediately shook her head. "What about me?" Ja'far said as he kneel down also to leaned closer for her view to see.

The girl surprisingly stared long in silent upon inspecting the pale man features. "...Um...?" She said a bit surprise. She could not utter the word and kept quiet. Ja'far give a slight glanced to his King. Their silent communication.

'Who are this people..? why are they looking each other like that..? what are they planning to do with me..?!' Her mind running wild, reminded of what had happen to her before. She was- she was being embraced by the man with the long purple hair. Remembering his face made her blood boil and her heart beating so fast. She looked at the inside of the blanket, she had realized what she had on. A white long dress that revealed a bit of her cleavage. She quickly covered it up again with the blanket she had on.

'I cannot stay here, I must go home... Mother and Father must be worried about me—'

In an instant something hit her mind like a bang! 'M-mother...and Father..?' Her mind was blank, her gaze shifted to the opening in Ja'far's right. It was that moment she had run for the door passing the two swiftly with her blanket covering her head and her back as a cloak. This startled the two man. She even passed the guard standing at the door. They were caught off guard and a bit confused at the scene enveloping. Sinbad and Ja'far instantly followed.

'Where is this!?' as she run step after step all she could see was pillars, walls and windows to the outside garden, she ran in the hall 'Where is this!?'

"Princess! wait! where are you going!?" Sinbad sought not far from behind her, apparently catching up to her. No response from her. She heard it, but she is not responsive to the call. 'Who is that Mister? why is he following me..?' she thought panicking.

"S-scary..! why are these guys chasing me..?! I want to go home...!" She let out a small sought in attempt to reply but also to convince herself that. But truthfully...

'I can't remember...! There's nothing...!' This thought flashed across her mind in an instant, she clutched her head with her palm. She slowed down her step as responded to this thought. She had turned into a corner revealing a big open hall leads to the outside garden and she rushed towards it. Stepping out to the open air. It was so bright, the sun rays had caused her eyes to shut for a moment. Her untied hair was long enough to be swayed by the wind, she then open her eyes in shock, letting go of the blanket she had on. She gasped for air.

"Princess..!" The girl was startled. 'Is that Mister...!' she look at her back and saw the white haired guy that was with the purple haired Mister chasing her. Without wasting any time took her leave and proceed in her run, her objective was the outside. She wanted to go outside so badly. She wanted to go home, she thought.

'Home! Mother and Father must be waiting for me at home!' even though she thought that, deep within she had realized something she doesn't want to admit. The fact that she could not remembered anything. It was blank.

"Princess Kougyoku!" slipped out of Sinbad's mouth as he saw her figure right up front. "Sin, that wasn't the plan..! Stop calling her by that name..!" Ja'far whispered beside his King. "Sorry—I just slipped."

"P-please leave me alone, let me go home! And you got the wrong person! I'm not this Princess Kougyoku, Im hh—I'm—" She had realized something yet again. It's so blank what was her name again?

"I'm—" Nothing came in mind. Not even a letter. 'Who am i?' Struck her like a lightning strike with fear seeping through her heart.

The Princess ran into the corner and slammed into something hard and big. She stumbled to the ground. Her nose was the victim of the collide, she could feel the stinging pain and something runny on the skin of her upper lips.

"Ugh—!" She shriek in pain. Rubbing her nose. She could felt something warm, the color was red. It was her blood running down from her nose. She looked up, one eye shut. Something huge stood in front of her. "...Um Sorry..ng?" The man in front of her towering over her. He was huge and so build in form.

"Ow man, you hit someone! Masrur you should watch the way you're going man...ng... isn't it the Princess—eh?! No, I mean—" A white hair guy with a tan skin came up to her from the back of the huge guy.

'More of them!?' her inner sought.

"Woah! aren't you bleeding!?" The man with the tan skin leaning over to her aid.

"Y-yes..." she accidently replied awkwardly.

"Sharrkan! Masrur!" Ja'far finally catch up and approach them.

'Ah...they got me, what will they do to me?' She had not dare to imagine.

"What happened here?" A manly voice followed behind her. It was the purple head Mister.

"I think the princ— I mean the lady just got a nose bleed." Sharrkan stood up to give way to his king.

"What?!" Ja'far freaked. Sinbad drew near and kneel down in front of her.

The jade girl desperately trying to hide the bleeding. I mean she noticed too that her appearance probably was not that good, and in front of her were men. Men! Whom she was not familiar with, there was another one with the white hair that picked her interest. And then this Mister who was in front of her trying to get closer to her. 'Wh- so close!' She was cornered to a wall, exit blocked. She shut her eyes, remembering the previous unpleasantly embraces experience. Blushing furiously, her inner heart screamed. Her blood boiled and her heart started to race. Therefore more blood flow out of her bleeding nose. Staining more onto her white dress.

A blanket of white sheet covered her in an instant. "Eh..?"

"You Men are the WORST!" A woman stepped in blocking the view of the girl from the men. It was none other than Meliya. She stood between Sinbad and the Princess. "Don't gang up on an injured women and if it's happens to be her face! You Men need to give her space!" She said with firm gesture and tone of a mother scolding her children. She was defending something. She basically showing her true character. Suddenly she snapped out of it.

"No offence my King" she bowed slightly in an apologetic gesture. "N-non taken." Sinbad was taken aback by her statement though. "I mean we did not handle the situation properly." Ja'far let out a heavy sigh.

"Well because you're all Men—Ah forgive my tone!" The Woman bowed again.

The four men started to think that she had a Man problem before, because of the tone she had when addressing the word 'Men'

"Let me take care of her, King Sinbad. I will talk to the Lady."

Hearing the woman said that the girl felt assured she could trust her. Well, also because she was injured and needed treatment. It was painful to hold. The two went ahead to a room down the hall. The Men stayed out and awaits on the hall way.

"Let's leave it to Miss Meliya, she had understood the situation very well and I think she will tell the Princess more efficiently than us Men." Sinbad said with a slight chuckle.

In the room the hair colored girl sited on the bed side as the woman sit next to her. Her hands were holding a piece of cloth drenched in water and ointment in another hand.

"Does it still hurt?" Meliya said with a worried face.

"A little..." the girl answered awkwardly still rubbing the tip of her nose. "I guess it's okay now...ano.. do we know each other?

Meliya was taken aback by her question, She does not remember the festival after all, she thought she ccould thank her properly the next time she saw her. The women with the long honey brown hair curled up her mouth in disappointment. "Well, i guess it have to wait."

"Huh?"

"Hm.. no, I'm just an old women who really, really likes beautiful girls!" She had remarked with a big wide smile of warmth. "Okay then, let's get you change!"

"...?"

"...I'm..um..." The girl became confused, and unwillingly dragged with the flow of things the woman shoved at her.

Meliya offered her hand and put the girl up to her feet. "A-ano..where is this?" The girl conjured up her courage to asked the women while being pushed to the changing room. "This is the Palace of King Sinbad of Sindria." Meliya replied lightly with a smile.

She was dragged in front of a mirror and founded herself staring her figure. Long red jade hair, fair skin and big eyes. She felt a bit happy about her over all appearance. 'This is me...? I don't feel that this is me...? is this really me...?' She let out a slight giggle. it cheered her up a bit.

"Here you go...!" Meliya gave her another dress, exactly the same with the one that she had wore but it came with a robe with green and black lines as the neck line ornament. That could cover her openly shoulders and cleavage area. She doesn't quite like open dresses. It was uncomfortable to dress so openly, she had wondered about her preference in clothing. Meliya dressed her to be appropriate for attending the gathering. Her hair was being let down and more importantly she felt comfortable in her new clothing.

"After this we'll talk about your situation with the others.."

"The others..?"

"King Sinbad and his subordinates, the Eight Generals."

"...King Sinbad and Generals...?"

"You met him already, He's the handsome man with the golden eyes and purple hair."

The girl brainstormed. "T-t-t-that Mister is a King...?!"

"Mister...? he's not that old you know, and you're not that young...you're like...nineteen. Plus don't call him that. Ja'far warned me that first...not that I would talk like that to a King..right? haha" Meliya ended up talking to herself.

After finishing with the preparation for the Princess, Meliya stood in front of her and bowed down with respect.

"From here and on, I Meliya will serve you. My lady."

"...Eh..?"

"It means, I will be your attendant. Please do relay on me."

Gathering at the meeting hall for the King and the Generals added with the two guest. Meliya and the Princess.

The Princess got quite the surprised as to finding out that the purple head Mister was the King of this country from Meliya. It made the whole atmosphere awkward for her. She was seated next to the King, as to Meliya stood behind her like Ja'far stood behind his King. The atmosphere for her was very tense. The room was full of people she doesn't know and some are to her considered weird, and some scary. She had though as how she ended up in this scenario.

She was told to tell them what she had remembered. There was nothing. After she had woken up this morning, there was nothing."

"...it's all blank." She finished groggily.

"How about the day of the Sindria Festival?"

"When was this?"

"Two days ago...at the festival parade you were found by me wondering the streets...and then you— " Meliya tried to answer to fill the question. "After a slight glance at his adviser, Sinbad add carefully " —Then you got into a deep like sleep state and been in our care since and it clearly now you had lost your memory."

"Lost my memory..? how did this happen? Who am i...?"

"I cannot answer that...Currently you are no one..." Sinbad said in a serious tone, The last part wasn't a lie. The Princess just took it as he didn't know the details about it. Ja'far gaze lock on his king and shifted to the Princess. He felt sorry for the Princess's current situation but then in the back of his mind and alert always went on on his instinct saying this will dragged on to something big.

"Am I sick?" She asked a bit discourage at the news.

"...You could put it like that." Yamuraiha answered this time and step closer to her, and then put her hand on her shoulder. "But don't worry, it's not endangering your life or anything..." It was a bit reassuring for her that one of them was a nice girl.

"Will it be curable?" The jade girl put her palm together in front of her chest, she was clearly worried. "There are still unknown possibilities..." Yamuraiha answered apologetically. This had shook the former Princess and fear once again creped in.

"Do I have a family with me...?"

Sinbad as he closed his eyes shook his head once again. Thump! the sound of her heart beating faster, she lowered her head in disappointment "...So, I'm alone..?" hearing her said that, everyone in the room were waiting for a tear or two to fall down. But they were proven wrong when she slowly reveled her gentle smile and a bit of sadness mixed in together forming that curve up of her lips.

"Thank you for taking care of me all this time...!" While saying this her eyes were shut. To the person that notice, it was an act off restraining her tears. The girl then stood up startling some and then gave them all a bow of gratitude. Sinbad were surprised at this but then a smile came to his lips. "It's okay, you are a guest, it's only natural that we took care of you."

"A-a guest..?" The girl blushed a bit at how close the king had stood near her. He then took her hands on to his and firmly griping them.

"Stay here as my guest as long as you like..!" At his statement, The jade girl was touched, she felt a rushed of relived. "I-is...that...okay..?" her face was painted of pink blush. The feeling of relive almost made her cry, she tried to hold it back. Sinbad reassured her with a nod with the classic Sinbad's charming smile with that big confidence of his. "Of course! I cannot let a girl wandering around helplessly and unattended. You could stay as long as you like."

Pisti came closer to the two, "So... what should we call her by now...?" Said pisti with a big grin. The Princess'se thought was Pisti as an energetic child.

"That's right. what should we call you..." Sinbad put his hand on his chin amphisizing his thingking gesture. He glanced over at his adviser and then to Meliya. He was not sure of what to call her by. He must protect her identity for the current time. 'Without her past follows...' came shooting across his mind. He is bad at naming people. Seing that everyone was thingking hard. Some had offered a suggestion like Lady or something that not really describe a girl's name.

The former Princess had something on her mind also, she then took a glance of her own long red jade hair sitting at her shoulders. She had remembered an image of herself reflected in the mirror "...A-ano..!" She had caught everyone's attention. "What about Gyo...ku..?"

"...! eh!?" Everyone in the room mainly Sinbad, Ja'far, Meliya was alerted by this.

"Gyoku, If it's okay, everyone can call me with that name..!" The girl continued, a bit of cheerful mixed in her tone of voice.

"...Did you suddenly remembered?" Sinbad worried but manage an average tone of calmness.

"...eh? No! I'm not sure...I mean... seeing my hair it's a jade color is strange so i was on impulse...i wonder why I thought that name.. but I hope this could be my real name."

Silent filled the room for a brief moment. "Gyoku, eh? that's a good name. Let's go with that." Sinbad said with a 'if she said it like that...we can't help it' smile.

The door closed behind three figures, Meliya and now the former princess of Kou and now became Gyoku in name. They had proceed with her check up with Yamuraiha and further briefing was commence at the ones who stayed behind.

Ja'far started the conversation first with a very different expression plastered, it was his serious face, eyebrows shoot down closing the distance to his upper eyelids. "So it appeared the Princess—I mean Gyoku's personality and intelligence was not affected by the memory being sealed away. I'm guessing that what got sealed was the bad things and what had been related to it...we still have to learn more of this." Ja'far was indeed intrigued by this scenario. This had made Sinbad wondered about her fighting ability and also the most important ability; to hold Vinea's vessel.

"Also we need to conceal her identity to the public." Remembering the 'Miss Sindria' contest, many had became the Jade Girl fans(the ones who didn't know of her identity, mostly the commoner named her the Jade Girl because of the color of her hair.)

"That had been take care off of by Yamuraiha." Ja'far exclaimed.

On the Kou empire oceans, the sky was already turning shades of darkness engulfing the sun rays. The sun set almost vanished. Just a bit more and they reach open sea. A Ship of a merchant named Fou cutting through the waves. His shoulder length spiky orange hair swayed in the wind. He stood firm, hands on his hip as he absorbed the changing time in the breeze on his being. An alert from one of his crew broke him from his meditation like state. "Sir..! We caught something..!"

"W-what!? is it a rare monster?! what, let me see it!" He excitedly speculate and went on leaving his subordinate. "Where is my monster..!? This could be a great present for King Sinbad..!" As he approached the thing that his crew had caught. "What is thiiiis!?"

"A barrel." One stoic faced person replied flatly, one of his eyes were covered by his raven color hair. "You lied to me...!" Fou was anguished in spirit.

"Nobody said anything about a monster...Stupid!" The raven color hair guy said rudely. "W-wha—you dared called me stupid.. a low brain?!"

"Shut it. I'm your adviser. You appointed me, your best friend to the job. So it's my duty to correct you..! If you don't like it don't hand me this job in the first place..!" Said so the adviser to his master's and best friend's face, clearly and boldly. Fou gritted his teeth comically with tears hanging down his eyes. His feeling always were so easy to hurt. "Guh..." Fou started to cry. "Don't cry stupid. Be a man, would you?!"

"I was lied to and then I was called stupid..! I'm so sad...!" Feeling depressed with tears of depression falling down his face.

"Shut it..! and nobody lied to you..! you're just speculate on your own..!" The adviser and his some of his crew ignored Fou's dramatic impulse. It was always often, they got tired of it. "Besides, this could have some valuables inside of this... maybe from a sinking ship, who knows." The adviser open the barrel's lid. Suddenly Fou get over his anguished and being excited.

"HYAA—!" A voice came from the inside of the barrel. "W-WHAT!?" The adviser was startled, something had put grab on the lid. Fingers, human fingers. "Please don't open it..! I like it dark here..!"

"Human!? Who are you..?!" The adviser was now in full alert or rather amazed. "I'm a traveler..!" The person's voice in the barrel was of a man. Fou stepped up to get close to the barrel with exciting tone he said "You're traveling with this..? This is my ship, I am Fou of Kou. I'm heading to Sindria. What will you do traveler? You could hitch hick with us if you want, Where are you heading?"

"...Hmmmm I think I'm visiting Sinbad for a bit too...Nice to meet you my name is Yunan." He closed the lid himself. Talking to now closed barrel Fou spoke with dignify manner.

"Well traveler, I'm Fou of Kou..! Nice to meet you traveler Yunan. Let us cut through this waves of youth to our freedom..! kehkehkehhehehe—!" Fou chocked on his own spit while laughing his head off.

"...What just happened...? Are you sure you want him on board?" The adviser quietly whispered to his best friend's ear.

"This person is a Magi." Fou stated with a serious low whisper.

"!...As you wish, then." The raven hair guy gave his respect.

The Magi inside the barrels said in playful tone, "I'm excited to see what'll be Sinbad's reaction to my present, it should be there already...hehe."

Gyoku was at the palace garden with the fountain being the main decor. She decided to sit on the grass, made sure that she did not stepped on any flower or plant that had been growing there. The sky gave away the time. The stars and the moon were out, painting the skies with their beauty. It was after midnight yet she could not sleep. After all, it's a foreign place for her and she felt that she already had all the sleep she needed to cover the whole day. She put up her knee and wrapped it with her arms, resting her chin on top. She thought about all of the thing that had been told to her by Yamuraiha on her magic lab. "This bracelet is so that you are being watch in our protection, please do always put it on." Gyoku glanced at her right wrist, she had put the bracelet on. It's a white silver thin line bracelet.

"Gyo...ku...this is my name now...It's strange naming one self..Gyoku. Gyoku. Gyoku." She muttered slowly, not yet accustom by the name. But in the back of her mind were a thought of will she be able to remember everything that had happened today. What if she had forgotten the next day about all of this. She was scared. Scared of going to sleep at this point of thought.

The wind blows carrying grey cloud above. "Will I be okay here..?" she had though that the people that had tended to her even though she doesn't know who she was and what had happened to her that caused this to happened to her. A tear formed at the edge of her eyes, ready to fall down, she sniffed. She hold down her tears, even though there were no one around to saw her cry. S`he choose not to let it go. I she let it go, then she felt that her heart will gave in to the helplessness. she sniffed again trying to hold back the emotion. A voice came from behind her.

"Couldn't sleep?" She turned her head immediately. Sinbad was towering not far from where she sat. "Mis—Ano—K—King-sama..!" Gyoku then positioned herself in a dignified way immediately standing up and bowed down. Thank goodness she wore a rob above her dress. The concealing robe with long sleeve, the thing that she liked and most comfortable with. Gyoku quickly lowered her gaze. 'why is the King here, in this time..!?'

As if he read her mind "I do walk out sometimes in the middle of the night for refreshment time, and also star gazing." Sinbad said as he closed their distance. Realizing that The King probably like to be in the garden alone she tried to excuse herself. "Well then K-king-sama...I'll be going back to my room..." As she stood up Sinbad said to her with his childish smile. "Would you like to join me?" Sinbad sat near the position where Gyoku had sat.

"Eh..!? umm.. Ano.."

"I'll be very boring without someone to talk to..." Sinbad add.

Gyoku, defeated.

She walk back slowly, shoulder slumped and took sit a bit far from her previous position. Gyoku sat a bit further back from Sinbad. The atmosphere became awkward and intimidated. He is the King of this country. Sinbad stared the sky above, his figure was loose, hands behind supporting as pillars for his main body, legs were stretched out. 'This is the King...? what a very loose person...'

"K-king-sama..! T-thank you for letting me stay..." a bit tremble in her voice out of embarrassment.

"Hm...?" Sinbad took a glance slightly turning his face back towards Gyoku, surprisingly caught her attentions as to his appearance, she immediately lowered her gaze the moment their eyes met. He then straighten his back, arms pulled to his front and turning half of his body to her direction. She took a slight peek and notice that his hair was surprisingly long, might be even longer than her own. He wore purple robe with the white robe on top, it's his usual outfit under all the jewelry he had on. Without his turban his hair look a bit messy with that twig like hair popping out off course from the rest of his hair lines.

Before she could rendered all of this thoughts, Sinbad replied her as he got closer to where she sat, facing each other. "It is my great pleasure to have such a beautiful girl as my guest." he said with a very charming (Sinbad) smile. Making Gyoku blushed slightly and lowering her gaze once again and putting up her long sleeve as her shield against the man's charms.

Gyoku remembered the accident earlier today and felt that she should convey her apology. "A-and I'm really sorry for hurting your foot, King-sama! It's very ungrateful of me..! does it still hurt..?" Her voice became a bit high pitched and nervousness, indicate of her embarrassment before him.

"Hm..? Oh. No worries. That was my fault to begin with, you did nothing wrong. I might came a little too strong." Sinbad add another smile to the pile.

Clearly that Sinbad was trying to tease her for her reaction, and he indeed realized that her old habits of hiding her face with her sleeves were still there. Even though he saw this long ago; from the first time they interact with each others, for just a few time he saw her did it, he had guessed it had been a habit.

Time to soften up the mood.

"Do you like to star gaze?" Sinbad asked with a gentle tone. They were seated not too far from each other. "Star..gazing..? I don't really know, King-sama. But I don't dislike them..looking at the star that is..." Gyoku answered nervously.

"Is that so... I don't dislike them too. For me, stars were something that I had to constantly be aware of in the old days." Sinbad's eyes soften, he somewhat looked happy when he said that. On impulse Gyoku showed a slight smile.

"King-sama must've enjoy it a lot..?" Slight blush were visible on her cheek, her smile grew wider. Sinbad took a long gaze upon her being. His eyes become soften than before, it almost felt apologetic.

"Yeah, it was fun." Sinbad put his hand on top of her head. Without realizing it.

"Huh?" Gyoku was surprised at the King sudden action. "If you like, you could call me Sinbad, you are my guest after all."

"..Eh, A-ano..." Gyoku becoming flustered and confused. Hiding half of her face also in her own confusion.

"It's fine, if not now then next time."

"...um...I'm sorry..."

Their eyes met. All that Sinbad had questioned about Zepar before had been answered. He wasn't able to connect to her. It has been cleared the moment the Vinea and the guardian sealed her memory away, he had understood this fact. The connection was cut. Now he was sure of it.

Suddenly a cold night breeze swept through the flowers and blew towards their direction, it made Sinbad and Gyoku sneezed almost at the same time, Gyoku having the cutest sneeze sound while Sinbad had the dignified sneeze of a King. They found themselves surprised. After that sneeze they look at each other for a moment of silent and Sinbad was the one to let out a burst of laughs, much to Gyoku surprise.

"It's cold isn't it? a bit ticklish..." Sinbad swept his finger under his nose. Gyoku Smiled at this "..And sweet too.." Gyoku rubbed her eyes gently with her finger.

"Hm...? Sweet?... ah, you're right..does the flower here smelled this sweet at night..?" Sinbad was surprised at this new finding. "But no... before it didn't have a sweet fragrance like this...it's not from the flowers. Where is it coming from..?" Sinbad said as he gazed around to find the true source of the smell. He suddenly heard a thud sound on his side. Instantly turning his head towards the sound.

"...!"

The former Princess—Gyoku collapsed on the ground. Sinbad quickly pick her up, "What's wrong?! Gyoku..!" He tried to wake her up but to no effect. He examined her pulse and it was normal.

"Z..zzz... ..."

"Eh? You're just sleeping...?!" He then let out a sigh of relief. "...Don't sleep here..!" It was clear that Gyoku was in a very deep sleep. Sinbad decided to moved her and carried her to her room. He lifted her up with his arms. But then, before he took one step, one of his legs gave way and his knee slammed to the ground. It startled him. He felt his energy and power just washed away from his body. The sweet fragrance in the air becoming stronger.

"This smell is—!"

Early morning.

Footsteps of three Generals echoing in the empty and cold halls, it was still really early in the morning, still before dawn. One candle lantern being their guiding light. They were Ja'far, Yamuraiha and Sharrkan.

"Well, many of the guards had said they lack off sleep and unable to sleep at nigt and wake up early is sometimes hard for some of them. So it worries me and i made a potion and made it into a candle, when I bunt it release a fragrance that could make anyone who smelled it sleep a really good sleep. I tried it for myself but I think I put too much on the mixing... and the window were opened too...Yeah I made the mistake, I'm sorry Ja'far..!"

"You were lucky I catch it quickly and found you lying on the floor of your room with the door open...make this a lesson. It was lucky it didn't reach the guards on the main gates. But some of the area...we should check them all, the total that been effected in the west tower were fifteen people nine guards and six maids ." Ja'far gave Yamuraiha a quick lecture.

"I'm sorry, it was dark I light the wrong candle...knock me out instantly."

"Not so genius as you proclaim yourself to be, eh?" Teased Sharrkan grinning, he loved it when it get to her nerves. "You owe me one stupid girl! I got knock out in the Practice ground. Do you know how cold it is there?" Because of this he got and elbow attack from her. The arguing had broke out. Irritated, Ja'far scolded them both. They had walk near the main palace garden area.

"Well some had said that they feel great right? so it's a successes! So whould you let me test it again? It makes sleep better and waking up early easy." Yamuraiha defended and also trying to push her luck.

"No." Ja'far firmly replied rejecting her quickly. Then something had caught his interest, "Maybe you could have a chat with Drakon instead." Ja'far had something in mind, it could be useful in the military.

"Eh..? its just one mistake... aren't I repenting now by helping checking out the premisses?" Yamuraiha thought that she will be lectured by Dracon instead because of this.

They walk trough the opening hall of the ourside garden. With the fauntain were at. Suddenly...

"KYAAAAAAA!" A scream echoed through the open hall.

Ja'far and the others with him were startled. "What was that!? It's not far from us..!" Ja'far ran up to the open garden. Searching for the source of the scream, they rushed towards it.

Something, a figure swoop through the hall way not far from where they stood, It's was Gyoku she ran to the other direction and advancing in front of them. Running, and disappearing at the next corner. She didn't notice them but they did.

"What the..." they all thought.

"It's the Princess, I mean Gyoku, right? what is she doing in the garden so early?" questioned Yamuraiha. Their gaze were still set at the hall way. Ja'far being Ja'far proceed to investigate what had made Gyoku ran hysterically like that. Something caught his eyes. It was Sinbad sitting upward from his laid position before, he stretched his arm upward and yawned, eyes barely open. He was half naked, his habit of taking off his cloths had taken over him in his slumber, barely though.

The bystander, yamuaiha and Sharrkan sat their attention to the scene before them. "The King..."

"...Err...Does this remind you of something?" Sharrkan said awkwardly. Yamuraiha just nodded in agreement with sweat falling down her cheek.

Ja'far alredy stormed off to his king side. Sinbad notice his presence. "Ng... Ja'far, what? Eh? What, you looked angry..."

"What did you do, Sin?" Ja'far had a gloomed dark face. Sinbad didn't know what had ticked him off. "S-sleeping outside apparently...are you angry about that?" Sinbad gave a childish laugh in front of Ja'far.

"Why did you sleep outside?" As Ja'far asked of this he glance at Yamuraiha. She immediately shielding herself behind Sharrkan to avoid Ja'far stare. It was scary for her.

Sinbad rubbed the back of his head and tried to remember what had happened. "Oh, right! I was star gazing...with the Prince-No with Gyoku." realizing this Sinbad took another glance at his surrounding, no Gyoku anywhere. "Did she got back alright? I mean she suddenly fell asleep here...! O yeah Ja'far, there this weird sweet smell last night I think it knock me out also—but somehow I feel great right now—GUH!" Sinbad was chocked with a headlock from Ja'far.

"Well, one of you is!" Ja'far said frustrated.

"GUH! What jafar, what?! What are you angry about?!"

"You! Don't be careless next time!"

"What?! About what?!

"Did you do something to Gyoku? did you thouch her?"

"No...! What made you say that?!"

"You sure?"

"...Yeah!"

"...What that pause for?!"

"No! I didnt...keh—Who are you taking me for?!"

"A Drunkard womanizer...!"

"But I'm not drunk, Ja'far —GUH!"

Ja'far headlock becoming more tight. And while Sinbad got a beat from Ja'far.

"This reminds me of..." Sharrkan said unfinished.

"The incident last time...?" Yamuraiha add.

"You've coused it now, stupid girl,"

"Shut up..! Though I feel bad for the princess... " Yamuraiha face palmed.

"You should apoligize to her.." Sharrkan suggested with a smirk.

Breathing heavily, Gyoku remember her talk with Meliya, the time when they were walking together to their appointed room after leaving Yamuraiha's lab.

"Listen, Gyoku. I will warned you about something important, you have to remember this all the time, Okay?"

"Okay...What is it Meliya-san..?"

"Men. They are Animals. Don't let down your guard around them."

"...Eh...?"

"So this is what you were talking about, Meliya-san!?" Gyoku ran madly blushed as a red tomato and heart pounding like there is no tomorrow.

"I thought the first time I woke up was an accident. I misjudged you, King-sama...!" She said as she ran back to find her room with the thought of Men being dangerous. Especially King Sinbad.

Finally done!

Sorry for the grammar and other mistakes! Okay...Sinbad and Gyoku going to get awkward. Ahahaha! I wrote this for almost 2 months..! I'm sorry..! Free time is not present in some days...and I'm more of a moody idea person. I can't squeeze the idea out even when my hand were on the keyboard, it came to me in an unexpected moments..like when I'm just sitting around or in the bathroom or just in a daze.

Though I had already write plot points and some already in paragraph form for some chapters ahead.. so I'll be fun to write, maybe I'll takes time. I'm not that free anymore...Sorry.

Fun facts:

-Sinbad does not like to be called old.. we all know that right? from Yunan.

-Kougyoku became Gyoku, yeah i don't know.. easier to write. I read once in the trivia that Kougyoku That Kou stands for Red and Gyoku is Jade. so it means Kougyoku id Red Jade. My memory is hazy, I'm sorry if it's wrong wrong...let's just be okay with it...(don't flame me...)

-When Gyoku called Sinbad a Mister if I translate it to Japanese it's actually sounded a bit old, it's the same thing that Aladdin called Sinbad by, "Ojii-san." is supposed to be Uncle, but if I use Uncle it's going to be as if Kougyoku thought of herself as a small child, or that Sinbad look that old. but he is not, right..?

While King-sama is translate to Ou-sama, This won't be forever. She will call him by name.

-Fou of Kou an OC that popped up in this chapter, he will eventually had a role to play out for the plot. Yes, he is from Kou Empire.

-What will be Ka koubun's fate..? we'll just leave it to Kouen.

-Sinbad use 'she' while referring to the Guardian... he saw it as Kougyoku or just a rukh.

-Vinea is still out of commission. I plan for him to have a dramatic comeback...hope I don't screw it up hehehe... (*Stiff smile)

What's to expect in the future of this fanfic:

Yunan will be introduced to Gyoku.

Some sword fights. Love confession even proposal!?(let's wait and just read...).

Gyoku equipped by the teachings of Meliya (her Man issues teachings. THIS GOING TO BE FUN).

Drunk Sinbad is a must (*Grin).

Evil is nearing and creeping out in the shadows. More on the situation in Kou Empire.

AND, Judal will have his entrance later on in the story.

PS: Okay, is it me or will this turned out to be one of those reverse harem (otome game stuff?) stuff with all the males that involves; lol I wish... XD Nah...

Stay tune! Reviews anyone?
