A/N- Wassup? It be TOBN here with the finale of What If!
Geez! I am ending a lot of stories today, huh? Jokes! Nevertheless, we can skip the whole 'blah blah, I love you all' kind of stuff, since I already mentioned that, no? Jokes! But seriously; this was actually a popular story, and I never quite knew it until now. So yay! Thanks a bunchables with helping me deal with a story I kinda felt lazy to update. Thanks for dealing with that, and letting me give this the ending it deserved for a long time now.
Thanks to everyone who reviewed, because you are all the bomb! Jokes! I remember when I was thinking of this story, while writing Friends. I believe this was my third book on Fanfiction...? I can't quite remember. But even if I was so lazy in updating this story, I hope everyone liked it while it lasted. Sad that it is ending, but hey; endings lead to new beginnings, right? Jokes!
So as for this chapter, it is a TOBN original, and it adds to yet the millions (exaggeration) of stories that have to do with this particular season. The one where we have waited YEARS for (another exaggeration :P), and we still never got it.
Needless to say anything else (because ranting sucks, and is very boring after a while, right? :P), here we go. The finale of What If, something I wanted to do the whole time I wrote this story, and the most important question of all:
X~*~X
What if there was a Season 3?
X~*~X
"There's no limit!" Stern roared, the Lucifractor's power floating into his head right before Ethan, Sarah, Benny and Jesse's eyes. "No limit!" He screamed once again, smiling devilishly as the whole place crumbled. Rocks and bits of stone flew down from the ceiling as Ethan realized that whole Council building was going to collapse, and it wasn't gonna wait for them to get out.
"Guys, we need to go!" Ethan yelled over the noise. Sarah and Jesse got up to their feet as Benny stood there, grounded to his feet, eyes on the Lucifractor. Sarah and Jesse were ushered out by Ethan, who urged them to hurry up. "C'mon!" He said, looking for Benny. Where was he?
And Benny just stood there, mesmerized, and almost fixed in what looked as if a trance. He couldn't take his eyes off the powerful orb, and the whole place was going to explode any minute or any second now.
'What is he doing?!' Ethan thought rapidly, practically dragging Benny out. "C'mon Benny! We have to go now!" He exclaimed. It seemed maybe the realization dawned over Benny, or if Ethan's words actually meant something to the teen, but it obviously helped, because Benny snapped out of the trance he was in and nodded, rushing out with his friends.
...
Meanwhile, Rory, Anastasia and Erica sped to the edge of Whitechapel, wind brushing through their hair as they halted. The Vampire Council building was in view, and Anastasia held her finger up high, looking down at Whitechapel.
"Now we wait." She said. Erica frowned. "For what?"
As if on cue, a huge purple ripple spread across Whitechapel, and a huge explosion was heard from below, sounding like it was near the Council building. Everyone jumped back in surprise and shock, not expecting it. They recovered as they saw the purple dim out, and Whitechapel was quiet as it was before.
"...that." Anastasia said with quiet hiss. Rory, oblivious as always, bubbled up in excitement.
"Nice explosion!" He commented. Then he slumped his shoulders a bit as a thought came to mind. "I bet Benny and Ethan would've liked that"
Erica gave him an incredulous, but worried, look, and the three vampires flew high into the air.
As Erica flew, her mind was starting to piece everything that happened; Anastasia had manipulated them into going with her...wherever she was leading them, and Erica and Rory actually fell into trance. Her mind bubbled in anger as she thought of it, because Stern was Lucifracting everyone in the Vampire Colony, and Sarah was still back there. Even those dorks were back there, and she was worried too.
And that was when she realized something she should've realized for a long time.
'I have to go back.' She thought in realization, shock washing over her. 'I need to go back right now.'
"Ugh." She groaned, stopping to hover in the air as she held her stomach. Anastasia and Rory stopped, and Anastasia gave her an icy look, eyes glowing yellow. Erica quickly doubled over in the air to avoid the young vampire's gaze.
"We have to go, now." She commanded. Rory wasn't looking at her, so he didn't fall into trance as well - god, was Erica glad to say that Rory did something smart for once - and Erica just made sure she didn't make eye contact with the vampire queen.
"Just," She faked a huff. "Wait. I have a huge stomach ache. I think I need to puke." She said, taking a sharp intake of breath, doubling over as if she needed to throw up. Rory looked at her in disgust.
"Must be the fast flying. Although you never seem to feel that way...or any vampires for that matter-" His rant - as always - was cut off by a sharp glare from Erica, which basically said 'If you dare say anything, I will stake you'. Anastasia gagged.
"Gross!" She exclaimed. "Fine! Let's get down. You better not puke on me, blondie." She sneered, giving in as they flew down to the ground, probably near a gas station outside just outside Whitechapel.
Landing, Anastasia, Rory and a sickly green Erica stood there. Anastasia gave Erica a rather skeptical look, and Erica gave her best sick face, and Anastasia just rolled her eyes and pointed to a leafy forest right beside the out-of-nowhere gas station.
"There. You can throw up there, and you are coming right back to me." She said. Erica nodded and sped into the woods, losing the sick face to look for something that'd be useful...
"Hey! If we're not going back to Whitechapel, can we go to Texas?" He asked Anastasia. "They have some good barbeque there! Oh! And cowboys! And hot cowgirls." He added with a wink, making Anastasia just groan.
Suddenly, a footstep was heard behind her and she frowned, smelling the air. She turned around and gasped as Erica towered above her, a sharp stake-like stick in hand.
"This is what I feel about being in a trance, Miss 'Fang Fang'" She said with a smirk, and before Anastasia could react, she plunged the stake into Anastasia's chest, and with a small scream, she dissolved into ashes right in front of everyone. Rory gasped as Erica carelessly dropped the stake on her dusty ashes. Rory's eyes widened as he stared at Erica.
"That was so cool!" He said, clueless to what actually happened - as always. Erica rolled her eyes, but smiled anyway because of how good it felt.
"C'mon, dork. We have some people to save." She said with a wink, and they flew out and back to Whitechapel
...
Benny, Ethan, Sarah and Jesse raced against the time, speeding past everything as fast as they could.
As the outside looked closer and closer, and the explosion was rumbling inside the heart of the Caller, Benny panted, breath shortening as he almost slowed down. He then remembered he was running for his life, and he kept running faster and faster, catching up to everyone.
"I...don't...think we can..make it." He panted. Ethan looked at Sarah and Jesse, who were slowly stopping.
"Why aren't you guys running faster? Can't you just speed us out?" He asked while running, turning a corner. Sarah panted tiredly, trying to run effortlessly, but not being able to. Jesse shook his head faintly.
"Lucifractor...drain...no...powers..." He huffed, making Ethan groan - must these things always happen to him? - continuing to speed away.
They slowed to a stop, tired and panting as they heard the rumbles. The exit to the Council building seemed to go farther and farther. To their "luck", a huge rock caved in and blocked their only exit. Benny quickly pulled everyone back, and things were beginning to fall behind them. This was it. They weren't making it out, and they knew it.
"It's alright. Everything's gonna be alright." Benny whispered reassuringly and they huddled close.
A spell came to Benny's mind as they huddled close, feeling the vibrations at their feet. Benny whispered Latin under his breath, and they were surrounded with a blue bubble. Ethan frowned in curiosity, reaching to touch it as the explosion rang in their ears.
Then darkness.
...
Ethan woke up with a rather painful sting in his left arm. The only thing he could vaguely remember was running out of the Council building, with all the vampires' powers nearly drained and useless. He remembered Benny's weird trance thing, that's for sure. He also remembered a blue bubble he was surrounded in before the actual explosion. And he felt a rush of wind when he was knocked out.
But the memories came in bits and pieces, filling in the dark holes in his mind. He stirred as he looked around to realize he was in the Weir residence. He saw a waft of blonde hair in the kitchen, and heard...Mario Kart?
He walked up the stairs and opened the door and found...
"Rory?" He asked in astonishment, walking into Benny's bedroom, watching the blonde vampire play Mario as if nothing happened. Rory smiled at the sight of him and pulled him into a big hug.
"Buddy! E! E-Dog!" He exclaimed the nicknames in a rapid rush. "You're awake! You had me worried for a minute. You should play a round with us; Jesse actually is really good! Erica is okay, just between you and me, but her accuracy is a bit off." He grinned foolishly. "And Sarah is a pretty badass, especially for Peach!" He exclaimed happily. "Oh! And did you know Benny's grandma is actually really good at Mario Kart? She beat us all at one point!" He paused. "Of course, I am still reigning champion, because no one could beat Yoshi..." He ranted, and Ethan rubbed his forehead stressfully, watching as Jesse and Sarah walked in the room with Erica.
"Wait! What happened when I was knocked out? What happened to the Lucifractor? And-" Erica held up a dismissive hand.
"Relax, dork." She said, making Ethan cross his arms defensively. "You guys were okay, thanks to whatever dork #2 did," Ethan interrupted.
"You mean Benny? Because what he did was actually really heroic and saved us all. Speaking of which-" Sarah interrupted Ethan's interrupted with a smile.
"Let us finish, Ethan." She said with a kind smile. Ethan just sighed, sitting on Benny's bed and rubbing his temples. "Alright. Continue." He said, secretly worrying why nobody was mentioning Benny yet...had something happened to him?
"Anyway, so Rory and Erica had came back after staking Anastasia," Sarah explained, and Ethan rose an eyebrow. Jesse scoffed. "Don't feel bad, Morgan; she was a scumbag anyway." He said with a chuckle. Ethan shook his head.
"And then they were able to zoom us out." Sarah finished off. Rory held a controller. "Now you wanna play? You could be Luigi," He said with wink. Ethan frowned as he stood up.
"Okay, that explains everything, but one question." Everyone looked at him - rather guiltily if Ethan could say anything.
"Where's Benny?" He asked, and as if on cue, Evelyn walked in.
"He's...sleeping." She answered, making everyone turn around as Ethan's eyes widened.
"What? Why isn't he awake yet? I'm awake, I assume he'd be awake!" He ranted. Evelyn pat Ethan's shoulder.
"It's just that the spell Benny used was really energy consuming, so his body is regenerating the energy while he's sleeping. But he's awaking now, so you can see him." She explained, and everyone dropped their controllers to rush to the spellmaster's side.
In the basement, on the couch, laid Benny; eyes closed and looking sickly pale. Ethan sniffled a bit; he promised himself he wouldn't cry...
"I-Is he alright?" He stammered. Jesse nodded. "I'm sure he is, Morgan. You just wait..."
Again, as if on cue - which apparently is happening quite a lot - Benny stirred and he woke up, sitting up with the help of all his friends. Ethan hugged him in a bone crushing hug.
"You're awake, B." He said with a tired smile. "I thought I-" He paused with a meek blush from everyone's looks. "We lost you." He said with a small smile. Benny shook his head.
"Nope! It takes more than the Lucifractor to get rid of this spellmaster." He said with a grin, getting laughs from everyone. He paused, then glared at Rory with a goofy smile as always. He pointed at him accusingly.
"I also heard you are 'reigning champion'?" Rory nodded, and Benny smirked.
"We'll see about that." He said with a wink, and with the help of Ethan, everyone went to his bedroom to play some Mario Kart.
...
And all was well in Whitechapel - with the occasional supernatural problem here and there - and they lived happily ever after.
The End.
A/N- And that's that! Hope you liked it :)
Drop a review, and until the next story, I tip my hat to you all :)
