Fatal Attraction Chapter 31: Our History

Recap:

He hasn't come back since he did that weird glowing thing to them. That left her with time to think about what he had asked her. How far would she go to save herself? Who would she get rid off to live? Well, she liked to think she would go far to life and be successful in life. Like her dad. But unlike him could she get rid of someone for her own gain? She knew he father wasn't a saint. Sasuke had done a lot things that were cruel and evil to accomplish his goals. He didn't care who he stepped over to do it. But she had seen the damage that came with it. She didn't want that for herself.

Story:

oOo

Her body hurt all over. It had been a long time since she felt pain as terrible as this. Where was she? She remembered planning to spend her day relaxing. She had gone into her secret room. She remembered meditating and cleaning her bow.

Then why did her body hurt so much?

'I was cleaning my bow... I was...? What was I doing? Oh, I was reminiscing about how much I missed it. Then I...'

What did she do next? 'I felt something. Demons-'

Brown eyes shot wide open, a gasp leaving her lips as she shot up from the bed. "Inuya-ahhhh!" She screamed as a blinding white hot pain tore through the right side of her upper body.

"Kikyo!" Someone called out.

Kikyo felt her body being pushed back down on the cot she was on. In a matter of seconds two nurses rushed in, their green healing chakra washing over her wounds, desperately trying to stop the bleeding she had caused before rewrapping her bandages.

Her face twisted in pain. God, it hurt. It was worse then when Naraku- masquerading as Inuyasha- clawed at her shoulder all those years ago. Not only had Inuyasha savagely mauled her body, but the fact that it was truly him to have done it to her, hurt worse then anything else. Her beloved puppy eared love had wished for her death. He wanted to kill her.

"Alright Highrashi-Sama. Please try not to make any more sudden movements. Your shoulder can't handle even a twitch right now, okay?" A kind looking woman said, but Kikyo hardly heard her.

"I'm going to give you some pain medication. I'll get you slightly sleepy but the pain will lessen." Ino said, injecting a needle into her IV. "Please listen to Izumi-chan and stay still." She begged before giving Sasuke a look before leaving with Izumi.

Wetness began to gather behind her closed eyelids. It didn't matter how hard she tried to suppress them. One by one they managed to escape. Her mind remained focused solely on Inuyasha.

oOo

He had been staring out the window blankly when Kikyo suddenly shot out of the hospital bed with a cry. He had rushed to her side to set her back down on the small cot of the hospital. Removing his hands as Ino and another nurse ran in, he noticed the blood quickly soaking her wraps.

After healing and wrapping fresh bandages around her they left. He knew Ino would have Naruto here in seconds.

Dispite himself and the hatred that seemed to always flow off him and Kikyo, his eyes softened at the sight of her tears. For the first time ever he felt sympathy for her.

Never once had he seen either sister shed a tear. Kikyo looked so raw, so broken lying there on her cot, bandaged and in pain. For the first time in years, she looked human.

"Kikyo." He gently spoke her name, stepping to stand beside her.

Brown eyes snapped open, shock that she hadn't noticed him. She glared up at Sasuke ignoring her tears. She was to proud to dry them like a guilty child caught stealing, much less let him see her pain. Instead she chose to glare at him- no matter how week her glare was.

"Why are you here?" She questioned softly.

Even though she had asked him in the softest voice he had ever heard her use, Sasuke could still hear the slight pain she tried to hide.

Sighing Sasuke crossed his arms. Why was she so stubborn! The sympathy he felt for her began melting into slight annoyance. "Because the woman I love is currently lying in that bed over there, injured and unconscious right now."

Turning her head to look beside her Kikyo's eyes widened in shock. "No... Look at what he did to you..." She croaked, her one good hand raising to try and reach for Kagome.

"I was hoping for some answers." Naruto said as he entered the room with Tsunade, Kakashi, and Shikamaru. Moving to stand at the foot of her cot, he motioned for Tsunade to help Kikyo sit up.

The busty blonde moved quick, propping the bed up so that Kikyo could speak sitting. Tsunade gave Kikyo a quick once over to make sure she was okay before moving to sit down, Kakashi standing right behind her while Shikamaru moved to the window.

"Answer to what? Our attackers?" Kikyo asked, her brown eyes hardening. "It's nothing you need be concern over."

Tsunade frown as she leaned toward, elbows resting on her knees. "It is our concern. You see, not only were you and Kagome attacked by what looks to be the father of your sister's twin's and another silver haired man, but said children, along with Sarada, were taken by three others."

"What!"

Naruto sighed. "We were attacked by three others, two females, a male, and Sakura. The females introduced themselves by the names of Sango and Kagura."

Every eyes in the room witnessed Kikyo's pale skin become white as paper. Her eyes seemed to widened so much that her eyes bulged.

"No. No! That impossible! They died!" She shouted. "We watched him kill them all. We buried them!"

"Well apparently they aren't as dead as you seemed to think. Kikyo," Naruto said. "We need answers."

Slowly the color returned to her face but her body shook violently. She faintly sent a prayer of thanks for the pain medication. If Sango, Kagura, Sesshomaru, and Inuyasha were alive then she had a suspicion on who was the mastermind behind it all. There was only one person who she knew would go so far to hurt her and Kagome. One person who seemed to fit the puzzle piece and if she was right...

"You have to promise me that not a word leaves this room." She demanded. "Promise me that what I say is only between those present at this moment. It won't be written down nor spoken about to anyone else."

A look was shared between the Shinobi before Naruto nodded. "You have our word."

Kikyo nodded releasing the breath she held. Folding her hands on her legs she turned her head to stare out the window. As much as she hates telling them anything she knew it was better that they know. "Yes, the men who attacked us were our husbands, InuYasha and Sesshomaru, half brother's and one of the strongest men you may ever battle. But to know our story, I must start at the heart of it all. What I will say in nothing but the truth."

"Go on." Tsunade prompted.

"First you must know, in order to under stand, we are not from the Land of Fire. Kagome and I come from a world where demons and humans roamed together, always fighting. We came from a world without Ninja. But this tale of blood and strife began hundreds of years ago with a Priestess, a priestess named Midoriko..."

Kikyo spun the tale of the Great Warrior Priestess and Magetsuhi. She told them of the Shikon's creation and its powers. To know that such a jewel could possible still exists was unnerving. If word ever got out, many would hunt for it.

"And so, the jewel exchanged many hands, each wilder meeting an untimely demise, until it fell in the hands of the Demon Slayers. Hearing of my powers they sought me out, placing the jewel within my protection. Many came for the jewel, recking havoc in their pursuit, and all were quickly dealt with... all but one. No matter how many times Inuyasha came for the jewel, I let him live. Soon he began helping me protect the Shikon, and we fell in love. But, a bandit named Onigumo, whom I was nursing to health, lusted after me. So obsessed he became, he allowed demons to feast upon his body, and in return grant him their powers. Out from the deal, Naraku was born. In an insidious plot to taint the jewel he tricked Inuyasha and I into betraying one another. With what little power I had left, Inuyasha was sealed to a tree in eternal slumber and I died."

"How are you here if you died?" Naruto asked.

Brown eyes cut over to him in annoyance. "You will find out soon enough." She said before she continued. "Fifty years later, a strange girl appeared in Edo. It was discovered that she held the Shikon within her body. In just one day, the clumsy child not only managed to free Inuyasha from his slumber, but she also shattered the jewel into hundreds of shards. Together, Inuyasha and the girl, joined by the Demon Slayer Sango and Monk Miroku, banded together in order to piece the jewel together and rid the world of Naraku. Along the way the met opposition, Naraku being the main one. Each had their own vendetta against the half demon, all but the girl."

"And who was this girl who shatter the jewel and broke your spell?"

Their answer came when she turned her head to stare at Kagome.

"Your sister was the girl?" Shikamaru questioned, eyes narrowed in thought.

"No, not my sister. My reincarnation, Higurashi Kagome."

"What!"

A bitter laugh left her pale lips. "Kagome and I were never sister's. She is my reincarnation, pulled through time into my world. Her soul was ripped from her body and used to revive me. In the end she managed to steal her soul back while I escaped with the rest. I hated her. I knew she loved Inuyasha. I knew she could take him from me. I was nothing more than a vengeful Gollum, living off the souls of dead maidens, while she was alive and warm. Why should she be allowed to live and have his heart -a heart that was promised to me- instead of I, a women who's life was ripped away from her far to quickly? Yet after everything I did to her, every insult, every degradation, every attempt at her life, in the end she still showed me compassion. She saved my life instead of leaving me to die, all for him, even if it broke her heart."

Sasuke'a brow shot up. "She loved Inuyasha?"

Kikyo gave a small nod. "Yes. Had I not been resurrected I am positive they would have married instead. But unfortunately I always stood in her way. He could never seen her for herself, only seeing me when he looked at her. Many nights he left their group to come to me, and I made sure she knew. I was so full of hatred and jealousy. Her own pain is what led her to Sesshomaru. What started out as a training turned to a carnal relationship. She grew feeling for him and he took her as his bride."

"So what happened?" Shikamaru asked. "What went wrong?"

Kikyo's brown eyes darkened, her fist clenching as she remembered that fateful night. She remembered the countless days spent searching for any sign that their mates were alive. She remembered the agony Kagome went through as her pregnancy progressed without Sesshomaru there.

"We battled with Naraku." She said, her eyes grown tired as the medication took more effect. "In the end everyone was dead and... Sesshomaru and Inuyasha we're gone. No one could find a trace of them, and soon... we gave up and came here to start over... but it's would... seem..." she trailed off her eyes closing and body slumping.

Naruto moves quickly to her side and gently shook her. "It would seem what? Kikyo? Kikyo?"

A small yawn left the priestess' lips as her hazy eyes cracked open. "Hmm..?"

"What was it you were going to say? It seems like what?"

Her eyes closed again as she began to slip into slumber. "... seems like... Naraku... back..."

And with that a small scene of panic filled the occupant of the hospital room.
