Hunters and Killers
Hide from sunlight,
Slumber deep.
Wait for dark,
To break from sleep.
…
New prey is found,
Time to awake.
Soar through the night,
Let the prey quake.
…
Some food is taken,
But is rare
But the swarm must feed,
Must not despair.
…
So now the raptors,
Kill their own.
Mainly on those
Not yet grown.
…
They scream in hunger,
Scream in pain.
They hunt and soar,
All through the rain.
…
The suns then rise,
The light returns.
Must go to ground,
Lest they be burned.
…
Back to slumber,
Back to sleep.
A planet's nightmare,
Dwelling deep.
