Paul POV:

I phased and ran after Rose. I barked and she looked back at me. I briefly pointed my nose in the East direction and she nodded. She spilt off in that direction and I went north trying to find a clue as to where they could have disappeared to. I found tufts of Seth's fur but nothing that could tell me where he was or where they took him. Sam still wasn't going to be back until tomorrow and Jake was busy taking care of Leah and making sure she didn't do anything stupid which meant it was up to me.

I don't want it left up to me. I huffed like a disobedient child before continuing running. Everyone meet back up at the house in three hours if you can't find anything, I called out.

I heard several grunts in acknowledgement but that was about it. I kept running, but exactly one hour six minutes and forty-seven seconds later I heard Embry's frantic thoughts.

I found him, I found him, He sounded panicky as well as happy. I saw a picture of Seth float through his mind and I cursed while doubling my pace. He looked bad, from what I could he was unconscious and had cuts and bruises all over him, he had no clothes on, but I think that was more from him trying to phase to protect him-self; or at least I hoped that's why.

Okay, Embry wait for us to come over, don't touch him yet. Quil you went with Jasper didn't you? I made a sharp left turn avoiding a large boulder.

Yes, was his quick reply.

Phase back tell him what's going on and tell him to run back and get Carlisle; GO! I yelled the last part. I skidded to a halt behind Embry. Where is he?

Over those rocks, but Paul someone's watching him there sitting near the back of the cave, they look like they're waiting for something or someone. He warned glaring the general direction.

Dammit, okay here's what we're going to do, you are going to go on the left side of the cave and wait on the outside, I'm going to go in and lure him out and you'll attack, then I'll get Seth, I tried to take a peak over the rocks, but I couldn't see much. I looked at Embry for his response. He made eye contact with me and nodded his head.

Use that meat head of yours, He tried lightening the mood.

Yeah, yeah, I chuckled softly, feeling the adrenaline shooting through my veins.

You're turning out to be more like Jake every day, He mumbled more to himself.

I didn't bother replying because I was already on the move. I slowly walked up towards the cave listening as the unknown vampire hummed an eerie tune. I stopped when I got to the entrance and tried to look in. The vampire was tall with short cropped black hair and ruby red eyes. When he saw me he smiled showing of his pearly white teeth. I barred my own and let a soft growl rumbled through my chest. "Well, hello," He said it almost pleasantly, but I could hear a note of danger. "You know I have never met a shapeshifter who shifted to a wolf, I have seen eagle shifters, lion shifter even a fish, and I have also seen a true child of the moon, but never one like you. Tell me what's it like to know you can't protect your family from a more powerful opponent?"

I snarled at him and took another step closer. I couldn't let him get to me; if I did then I'll definitely lose this fight. He didn't just have the air around him sparking with danger, but his arms screamed danger from the scars visible. Of course, he had nowhere near as many scars as Jasper and I'm sure to anyone else he would be terrifying, but right now he was just pissing me off.

He stood up and dusted of his jeans. "Alright, let's get this over with I have places to be and people to see," He chuckled at his own joke.

He ran at me and instead of running at him like every fiber in my being screamed at me to, I backed up. As soon as he was five feet clear from the entrance Embry jumped on his back and Jasper who I hadn't realized had showed up attacked him. Within seconds he was dead and being burned by Jared, Quil, Embry, Jasper, Rose and Emmett.

I phased and put my shorts on. "That was too easy," I said somewhat skeptical.

"It doesn't matter as long as they think they won they don't waste guards," Carlisle said already running to Seth's side.

He checked him over quickly making sure his neck and spine were okay before turning him over and checking his other injuries. I knelt next to them and looked at Seth's face. He was staring at us with a slight smile. "What are you smiling about?" Alice asked confused.

"I told him you would come for me," He chuckled, but it was cut short when a look of pain crossed his face.

"Is it safe to move him?" I asked already reaching for him.

"Yes, but I suggest we get him into a bed quickly, he's healing, but not too fast." Carlisle nodded.

I looked at Embry and Quil to help me; they nodded and grabbed his shoulders. Jasper grabbed his legs and I held his back on my shoulder. Five minutes later we were on my front yard and Molly was racing out and running towards us.

"Seth!" She squealed happily, but as soon as she saw the blood on his face she froze. Her eyes hardened and I swear I heard her snarl.

"Listen Molly you can see Seth later, but right now go tell your mother to get an old cloth and a bowl of warm water, go," I ordered to her as we continued to carry Seth into the house. Molly was gone like lightning already screaming at Bella to get water and a towel.

We placed Seth on the guest bed and before I knew it he was cleaned up, wearing a pair of my pajama pants and he was fast asleep.

I sighed and looked at the rest of the pack and the Cullen family. "I think we'll just leave him here tonight and in the morning I guess we'll think about what to do. Sam should be home by then so, um yeah," I said scratching my neck.

They all nodded and after a few last goodbyes to Seth everyone evacuated my house. I slumped down onto the couch and placed my head in my hands. I felt the couch sink next to me. I didn't have to look to know it was my Bella. "What are we doing?" I asked somewhat rhetorically.

"Well were surviving for one thing, for another thing we're slowly raising our family, but we have a few bumps in the road . . . okay maybe a little more than a few, try a lot of bumps." I laughed softly and looked at her.

"Where are the kids?" I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her close to me. She put her head on my shoulder and I put mine on her head.

"Trin's asleep, Tristin is asleep, Micah and Noah are asleep, Warren is asleep, but Lucas is sitting in his room, he says he wants to talk to you," She laughed softly kissing my neck.

I sighed already exhausted. "Alright, meet you in our room and then we are going to have a little chat," I smirked and winked at her.

Bella giggled and slapped my shoulder. "Sure thing big guy," She raced off before I could catch her.

I shook my head and walked upstairs. I slowly opened the door and saw Lucas sitting on the rocking chair in the room with his green teddy bear in his arms. "Hey buddy, mommy said you wanted to see me?"

I knelt in front of the chair placing my hand on his knee. "I did, daddy why can I do stuff, but oder kids can't?" He asked frowning.

"What do you mean Lucas?" I slowly lifted him and sat down placing him on my lap facing sideways.

"I point at a rock and I can make it fly and do lots and lots of tings, but Richie can't," He stated like it was obvious.

"Who's Richie?" I asked rubbing his back.

"A kid in my day'd care," He huffed.

"Oh well okay. Um you see Lucas your family is different from other families. You know how your daddy can change into a wolf-"

"A puppy?" He cut me off sounding excited.

I sighed already slightly annoyed. "Yes a puppy, anyway, like I was saying um Richie's daddy can't do that. You can move rocks like Noah can control fire and the rest of your sibling can control other things because you are part uh puppy, understand?"

"No," He sighed.

I closed my eyes and let out a harsh breath. "Okay well how about you let Uncle Sam and Grandpa Carlisle explain all this to you, okay?" I smiled kissing his head.

"Okay." He yawned and closed his eyes; it was rather cute, really. I sighed again; I was growing too soft. I placed him in his bed and started walking out the door almost running for my room.

When I opened my door Bella was taking the pillows of the bed. She pulled back the cover with the fancy name that's starts with 'D' that I can't remember at the moment; Alice would be so ashamed,-oh well.

"So how did it go?" She smiled wrapping her arms around my neck.

"Let's just say that boy will grow grey hair before me and he'll give me wrinkles." I sighed.

She giggled and started kissing my lips slowly. She pulled back slightly. "We'll have to fix that now won't we?" She whispered slyly while biting and tugging on my lower lip. I groaned and walked us toward the bed. After landing on the bed I hovered over Bella and started trailing kisses along her neck. Just as things were getting hotter a bolt of lightning lit up the room and seconds later a loud BOOM echoed through the house. I groaned and dropped my head onto Bella's shoulder.

"Dammit," I whispered right before I heard the screams of terror. "I don't know why those kids are scared of thunder."

There was another clap of thunder and more screams. Bella paused and looked confused. She looked me in the eyes and said in all seriousness, "I think Seth was in on that screaming session."
