A/N: Hercule: you're right. Pakyzo doesn't deserve forgiveness for his betrayal. You'll find out shortly if he's forgiven or if Amria really is dead. Thanks for the review.
GuardianSaint: like I said to Hercule, Pakyzo does not deserve to he forgiven. But he might be and he might not be. As for Amira, you'll find out. Thanks for the review.
TMNTMentalistTLK lover: yeah, Pakyzo really needs to not be so quick to judge. You'll find out about Mira soon. Thanks for reviewing.
It's Over 9000: I wouldn't go that far, and I love hearing other peoples opinions so thanks for that. And I agree. He should've just forgiven Kovu for something that happened a long time ago and he did try to make up for it. Thanks for reviewing.
LK4Life: First of all, thank you so much for your kind words. I have gotten reviews and a few PM's that have said things like, "Amira had better not be dead, you better not kill off Amira, etc." you are the first and only person to say that they will respect any choice I make. So thank you so much for saying that. You have no idea how much I appreciate that. Thank you for both your review and what you said in your review.
Alright guys! Last chapter! I remember the first day I got the idea for Closer Than You Think. It was probably three or four years ago. And in just a few weeks it'll have been a year since I posted chapter 1 of Closer Than You Think. These two books have taken a while to get through, but we're finally here at the end. I would like to thank all of you who have read and supported me through this. I hope to hear from you again in my future stories. I hope you enjoy the final chapter to Keeping Secrets and Telling Lies.
It's been one month since the war.
One month since Amira's death.
It had been really hard for the Pride at the beginning, but they knew that Amira was with Mufasa, Sarabi, Simba, and Nala.
It had also been one month since Pakyzo was exiled.
-Flashback-
-One Month Ago-
"No Kovu," Mosi said with tears in his eyes. "Mira's dead."
That news hit the pride. Hard. Azryn turned to his brother. "You!" He roared striking his brother. "You killed Mira!"
Pakyzo didn't try to fight back. He knew be deserved it. Azryn continued to strike his brother until Kovu had to pull him away.
Kiara walked over to her daughter. "No. Not my baby." She collapsed onto her creamy coated daughter and began to sob.
Kovu walked up and tried to comfort his mate, but was having a difficult time keeping himself together.
Mosi's legs came out from under him and he collapsed to the cold, hard, unforgiving ground. His mate was dead. His sweet, beautiful mate was dead. What was he going to of?
Amaris felt like he was going to throw up. His mother was just murdered by her own brother. His mother was dead. He felt something soft brush up against him. Salina nuzzled her boyfriend in attempt to comfort him, and herself.
No one was hit harder than Pakyzo. All he wanted was for Kovu to pay for his mistakes. Because of his desperate need for revenge, his sister was dead. He killed his own sister. What kind of monster was he? He knew what he was. He was Scar.
Azryn roared mournfully and the others joined in. Even Pakyzo roared for his sister. Azryn turned and glared at his brother. "I should kill you. Kill you like you killed our sister." Azryn took a breath. "But you deserve this. You deserve to live with this guilt. I won't kill you, but I will, I am going to exile you."
Pakyzo gasped. "Az-"
"Go!" Kiara growled to her youngest son. "Go while you still have your life."
Pakyzo looked around to the disgusted looks of his ex-pride. The looks that really hurt were the looks of his mate and daughter. Looks of hate.
He quickly ran off.
Mosi nuzzled his fallen mate. "We should take her back to the Pridelands. See that she has a proper burial."
"We should." Kiara agreed still sobbing.
Kovu looked down at his daughter. He remembered when he first found her.
-Flashback-
-two years ago-
(Don't feel the need to read this part. This was back from Closer Than You Think)
The lion heard the shouts and ran towards them seeing a cub being carried down the river. He saw a branch a little bit ahead of her. "Grab the branch!" He screams at her.
Amira looks ahead and sees the branch she reaches up and just misses it. She continues to be carried down. "Help!" She screams again.
The lion rushes toward the river and looks around. To his horror he sees a waterfall a ways ahead. "Waterfall!" He screams at the cub. Amira looks and sees the waterfall she screams and begins to fight against the current, being pulled under once again.
The lion panics and holds his breath. He puts his head underwater in an attempt to grab the cub. He feels something soft, grabs it and pulls it up. He shakes out his mane and sees the cub coughing and gasping for air.
"Are you alright?" He asks patting her gently on the back.
"I...think...so." She says between breaths. She looks up at her savior. "Thank you."
"No problem." He whispers. He looks around. "Why were you in the water?"
"I was running from hyenas." She answers shaking out her fur.
"Where are your parents?" He asks her.
"I um left last night." She answers timidly.
"How old are you?" He asks.
"2 months." She answers.
"You're 2 months old and you ran away?" He asks in disbelief.
"I'm trying to find my father." She tries.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
"He left when my brothers and I were just a few weeks old. Nobody in my pride will speak about him so I went to find him myself." Amira answers.
The lion sighs. "Do you know what he looks like or what his name is?"
"No." Amira sighs.
"Then why-" the lion starts.
"I don't know." Amira interrupts. "I was frustrated and not thinking clearly so I don't know."
The lion sighs and looks around. "Well it's too dangerous for a 2 month old cub to be by herself. You want me to help you find him?"
"Well I would but..." Amira starts.
"No talking to strangers?" The lion guesses. Amira nods. "Well I don't blame you for that one. I'll keep my distance. Come one."
Amira smiles and follows him. "Wait!" The lion stops and turns to her. "What's your name?" Amira asks her savior.
The lion smirks. "Does it matter?"
"Well I need something to call you." Amira tell him.
The lion sighs, "just call me Loner."
"Ok then Loner." Amira smiles.
The lion smiles back. "What about you? What's your name?"
Amira smirks at the lion. "Does it matter?"
Loner rolls his eyes. "What should I call you?"
"I don't know." Amira shrugs.
"Where do you come from?" Loner asks her.
"Doesn't matter." Amira sighs.
"Mom?" He asks.
"She's the Queen of our lands." Amira answers.
Loner smiles "so that makes you a princess."
"Yep." Amira nods.
"Then that's what I'll call you. Princess." Loner says.
With that Loner and Princess set off to Loner's home.
-End of second Flashback-
-Still in other flashback-
This was still that little cub he used to call Princess. "I love you little Princess." He whispered. Kovu picked up Amira's top half and Mosi picked up her bottom half and set off towards Priderock.
-End of flashback-
-present day-
Pakyzo lived in the Outlands. He didn't venture too far from home. He warned to but he didn't. He felt the need to stay close. He knew they would never forgive him but a part of him still hoped.
The guilt never subsided. Not even a little bit. He would never forgive himself for what he did to his sister. He didn't want to forgive himself. He didn't deserve his forgiveness.
He didn't deserve The Pridelanders forgiveness either, but they deserved something from him.

"What are you doing here?!" Azryn growled at his brother. "You know the penalty for returning to the Pridelands."
"I know." Pakyzo whispered. "I just want to say one thing and then I'm gone."
"What is it?" Meellaah asked harshly.
"I don't deserve your forgiveness," Pakyzo began.
"Yeah you're damn right you don't." Mosi scoffed.
"But you do deserve my apology." Pakyzo said.
"You really think an apology is going to make up for this?!" Amaris asked. "My mother is dead!"
"Please just hear me out. I was in a dark place because I really thought Kovu had abandoned us. You all tried to convince me that he really was innocent in all this. These passed two years I thought I was protecting my family. It turns out my family needed protection from me, not Kovu. I've never felt more terrible about anything and I will never forgive myself for this. I'm sorry." Pakyzo began to walk back to the Outlands.
"Wait." Pakyzo turned and saw his older brother walking up to him. "We've all been thinking about what you did and why you did it. Trying to understand."
"And we do." Kiara said. "We understand why you did what you did."
"You were angry. But you never meant to get your sister killed." Kovu added.
Meellaah jumped in. "We can't forgive you for what you did, but we're willing to try and see if we can in the future."
"No." Pakyzo said. "You can't forgive me."
"Maybe we can, and maybe we can't." Amaris said. "We can try."
"You're willing to do that?" Pakyzo asked. "After all I did?"
They nodded. "We want to try."
"Welcome back to the pride Pakyzo." Kovu smiled.
"Thanks Dad."

Two months passed and Amaris and Salina became king and queen. They gave birth to a beautiful girl. She had a dusty orange coat and blue eyes. they named her Lumira. But they would call her Mira, in honor of Amira.
Pakyzo wasn't yet forgiven but everyone was still trying. They knew that even though they couldn't see her. Amira would always be with them.
The End
A/N: well there you have it guys. The end! I hope, you aren't too angry with me for killing off Mira or having Pakyzo somewhat forgiven. Hope you all enjoyed this story. Thank you!
