Across a Sea of Stars
And finally I see their world,
That which the Sky People call home.
I see an empty airless void,
Across this space they've flown.
…
I see a single golden sun,
I see a planet third.
I see a world of so much water,
That strangely is called Earth.
…
I see a dying, battered world,
I smell a bitter wind.
I see so much death and despair,
I see its hope grow frayed and thin.
…
I see vast and deep yet lifeless oceans,
I see stretches of wasteland.
I see rivers flow no longer,
I see empty swathes of sand.
…
I see jungles of pure metal,
Of blinking neon lights.
Through these the tawtute shuffle,
Looking up at starless nights.
…
I see this world deep in its past,
I see what it could be.
I see why Man's come to my world,
Why they crossed an airless sea.
…
"Not again," I tell myself,
My hand cannot refrain.
I must spare my world the coming storm,
Of a never-ending rain.
…
It's time to fight, it's time to act,
It's time to make my stand.
I see the future in the balance,
So it's time to play my hand.
