Nine months into a pregnant woman's life
Chapter 14
It was a shitty weather. One typical New York winter day and it took all off the young editor's strength to get out of bed careful not to wake the man next to her, still sound asleep.
It was a bit early. Too early to wake Henry up at least. She glanced down at David and a smile crept on her face. He looked so perfect, lied on his stomach, lips, slightly parted. He also deserved some extra minutes of sleep. She'd wake him after her shower.
Today she had an appointment at the dentist and then, she had two meetings for work. A busy day, needless to say but she was in a good mood so she wasn't too bothered.
Regina stopped in front of her mirror and admired her round bump. She was showing. It felt almost like weeks had past since the super bowl even though it had only been days. The brunette smiled, caressing her belly gently.
"Hello, little one," she greeted her boy with a smile on her face. "What kind of atrocities are you going to make me eat today?" She joked.
Her cravings had been kicking in hard for the past weeks, each one weirder than the next and all were mostly for salty food. For a girl like Regina who'd had a sweet tooth since she was a child, it was a tad annoying.
The girl let out a chuckle. "It's alright. I'm not mad at you and I'll feed you with how many pickles as you want."
The young editor wrinkled her nose in disgust swallowing the little vomit in her mouth.
"But let's try not too often," she begged gently before grinning anew.
She chuckled a little again and started to undress herself to jump under the water. Once done, she went back to the bedroom only to find David waking up.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," she greeted with a smile, heading to her dressing room.
"Mmh," the man grumbled and she laughed.
She grabbed a red pencil skirt and a mauve shirt along with her underwear and went back to the bedroom to lie her items on the bed. The brunette glanced at the blonde man who was looking at her with half-closed eyes and she smirked, an idea popping up in her head.
She bit her lower lip and grabbed the belt keeping her bathrobe closed and slowly unfastened it, carefully and seductively opening the piece of clothing before letting it fall on the bed.
Immediately, David's eyes flashed open and he straightened up to look at her.
"Do you like what you're seeing?"
The man swallowed hard and Regina felt herself blushing a little. He pushed the covers to the side and slowly made his way down the other side of the bed. He stood on his knees and put his hands on her hips causing her to shiver a little.
"You look so beautiful," he told her, his voice hoarse and his eyes lingering a little -a long while on her firm breasts and she smiled, biting her lip harder. "You smell so good,"he added, his breath caressing the skin of her neck.
The young woman felt a shiver ran down her spine and butterflies raising in her lower belly, and she arched her back unconsciously offering him an even better view of the ladies. She opened her eyes back pretty soon after and shook her head.
Hoisted on her own petard. She bent her head slowly and dropped a soft kiss on David's lips. She brought her hands up to cover his and gently squeezed them.
"I have to get dressed," she told him parting to put on her clothes.
"What now?" The man asked in confusion, not really understanding what had just happened.
Regina chuckled, trying somehow to ignore the flush she was still feeling as she put on panties and bra.
"You played me," David observed in shock and she looked at him, giving him an amused shrug.
"You couldn't get up. I just gave you a little bit of encouraging."
The man scoffed, disbelief. "You're evil," he let out, getting out of bed, watching her in fake horror and Regina couldn't help the loud snicker that escaped her lips.
"Maybe a little," she shrugged.
"You'll pay for that one," David let out and with her back facing him, she hadn't seen him arriving so close to her so when she felt his hand on the small of her back, she jumped a little. "And remember, " he whispered in her ears, his hand ghosting over her skin, leaving goosebumps on its way and making her shift on her legs as she fought the growing arousal. "Payback is a bitch."
Regina clamped her teeth into her lower lip. She turned around and watched the man walk towards the door. He opened it and paused to look at her, a smirk on his face.
"I'm going to wake Henry up."
"Huh-uh," Regina answered simply, not really trusted her voice right now and the young blonde chuckled, leaving the room.
It took her a few seconds to compose herself. A smile grazed her lips and she ran her tongue on her top teeth. She let out a chuckle and shook her head before grabbing her pencil skirt to put it on. The brunette slid her two legs inside the hole and she brought it up her hips only to realise that there was no way she'd be able to fasten it with her bump.
She frowned, desperately attempting to zip up the piece of clothing before letting out a huff and letting it fall on the ground. It was more than time for her to start shopping for maternity clothes.
.::.::.
She arrived in the kitchen and found David leaning against the counter, staring amusedly at a very tired Henry.
The brunette smiled and walked over towards her son. She put two hands on top of his head and kissed it with affection, a soft "Good morning," leaving her lips.
The boy mumbled grumpily in response, letting his head fall on the wooden table and Regina chuckled.
"I'll fix you some hot cocoa," she told him and she saw the birth of a smile appearing on his face.
"Jeans?" David observed, watching eyeing her clothes as he turned on the coffee maker.
"Those skirts are a no go for now on," she said and he smiled.
He walked around her and gently stroke her belly.
"He's starting to get comfy in here," she beamed. "I think I'll go shopping this weekend while you're away from me," she teased, faking being sad.
"I could stay."
"It's your birthday, David," Regina resonned.
"I want to spend it with you and Henry."
The young woman smiled, her heart swelling in her chest.
"You'll regret not going with your brother if you stay here." She smiled, turning to face him and brought a hand to his cheek. "We still have today and tomorrow, to enjoy each other's presence and then I'll drive you to the airport on Friday. You have fun in Vegas -not too much," she warned jokingly and he scoffed. "And on Sunday, we'll celebrate your birthday...just the three -four of us."
The prospect owed her a smile from the blonde man and she answered to it.
"I love you," he whispered, leaning to kiss her. "I'm still mad about this morning but I love you."
The brunette rolled her eyes and turned to pour milk in Henry's bowl to bring it to him.
"Here, baby," she said, gently stroking the back of his head and he looked up, sighing. "You'll rest a little at the shelter if you want."
"Huh-uh," he replied, bringing a lazy hand to grab his spoon.
.::.::.
The morning went on quickly at the office and Regina was grateful for it. Of course, she'd noticed the glancing and the whispering every time she'd walk around the open space and she knew that people were starting to comment on her obvious weight gain.
"You're starting showing. People are talking."
The brunette shrugged as she sat before Jefferson.
"I know. I couldn't find anything that fit to cover the bump today."
"What about your clothes for when you were expecting Henry?"
"Oh trust me, you don't want to see me wear what I wore back then," she let out with a chuckle. "Except if sweatpants and large shirts are the new office uniform."
The man laughed, shaking his head.
"I'll go shopping this weekend with Tink, I believe. David is going to Vegas for his birthday with James so I'll use this time for it."
"Oh, it's his birthday?"
"Yes. On the 7th."
"I'll put that in my agenda and send him a text."
The brunette smiled, nodding.
"So, let's talk about your new clients."
"Let's."
After her meeting with Jeff, Regina went back to her office around lunch time. Tink wasn't at the office today so the brunette had asked her assistant to go grab her some food at Granny's so she could stay in.
The young editor relaxed on her chair, opening the box of steaming lasagnas. The smell alone sufficed to make her stomach grumble.
She only had time to take a bite when she heard someone knocking on her door. The woman sighed, letting her fork fall down.
"Come in," she let out and her eyes opened widely in surprise at the sight of David. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a genuine smile as she stood up to join him.
"I wanted to see you," he told her, kissing her lips tender. "I left Henry with Belle and I thought…" He turned around briefly, turning the lock of her door. She frowned. "I thought I would stop by," he continued, placing his hands on her hips and pushing her towards the desk.
"David," Regina scolded a little though she bit her lip as she felt her cheek becoming red. "We can't do this here."
"Why not? It wouldn't be the first time," he smirked and she pursed her lips, biting her tongue.
The blonde man chuckled, lowering his head carefully and locked his lips with her.
"It's the middle of the day," Regina mumbled, through their tight lips but soon a moan escaped her mouth as she felt his tongue joining hers.
The brunette closed her eyes, throwing her head backwards as she let him kiss her. She brought her hands to the back of his neck, bringing him closer.
He parted from her after a while, a smirk playing on his face. Regina bit her lower lip, her lower belly twisting in anticipation. This was bad. All of it was bad. It was the middle of the day, plenty of people were just outside of the office and -
"Oh God," she moaned as she felt David's hand in her pants.
She looked into his eyes and if she wasn't so turned on already she would wipe that smug smile off his face.
Suddenly, a sigh left his mouth and he took his hand back. Regina frowned in confusion and frustration.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
The pet-shelter owner looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, I have to go back to the shelter plus this is not a place for this kind of thing, Miss Mills."
The bastard.
"No David, you wouldn't…"
He smiled and leaned to peck her cheek.
"Payback's a bitch," he whispered in her ear before heading out of her office, leaving her like that - all hot and bothered.
.::.::.
It was with a loud bang that she closed her car door when she arrived at the shelter later that day. Of course, it had the expected effect to make the owner of said shelter look outside the large glass window from behind the desk.
Regina watched him with a I'm-so-not-amused scowl and he chuckled, his smirk firmly planted on his face. The brunette rolled her eyes and headed inside the the building.
"Oh hi, Regina!" Belle greeted happily coming from the back door.
Instantly, the editor's features mellowed a bit and she smiled at the young girl.
"Hello, Belle," she told her happily. "Henry's in the back, I supposed."
Belle nodded with a chuckle. "Yes, he is helping me clean up the last dogs. I actually came in for more soap. See you later," she said, patting her arms
Regina grinned as she went inside the broom closet and came back with some soap before heading back outside. Once she was out of sight, Regina put her scowl back on.
"Good evening, my love," she heard David said and she turned to thrown daggers at him.
The man chuckled shaking his head.
"Hey," he said, raising his hands innocently, "I warned you."
"I can't believe you did that!" She scold him in a whisper, not to draw Belle - or worth Henry's attention. "In my office. In the middle of the day."
David laughed some more before leaving his spot behind the front desk and walking towards her. He grabbed her waist and brought her against him, leaning to kiss her.
She rolled her eyes, pouting but she didn't move.
"I'm sorry," he whispered into her ears, leaning in to kiss her jaw this time. "But, to my defence -"
He didn't have time to say anything, she parted a bit from him and looked at him pointedly.
"Hey! You started it, "he defended himself.
"We were at home and -" She looked around, making sure they were still alone and then back into David's annoyingly blue eyes. "I. Didn't. Touch. You." She emphasized her words looking down at his pants.
"Fair enough," he laughed out loud this time before pulling her into a hug. "I promise to make myself forgiven tonight."
"You better," she told him, warningly.
He smiled against her neck and she sighed.
"But we have the dentist appointment first," she said, parting from him. "Do you still want to accompany me? I don't mind going alone with Henry."
"No, I wanna come. It will be a nice family outing."
"To the dentist…" Regina said, raising a brow.
"Hey, it's all the way to Greenwich village", he joked and the brunette couldn't help but smile at that.
David grinned at her before leaning in to kiss her once again.
"Hey mom!"
"Hey there," Regina said, turning to see her coming inside with gloves and rain boots that are ten times too big for him. "Having fun, I see," she observed and he simply laughed. "Go get clean up so you can give me a hug. Then, we have our appointments with Dr. Hopper."
"Ok," he replied and on that not he back outside to do as he was told.
.::.::.
Everything was alright with the both of them and when they got home from the dentist's, they ate their dinner and Regina tucked Henry in before joining David in the master bedroom.
David was already lying in bed and as soon as she entered the room, he put his book (another book on parenting) on the bedside table and smirked at her. The woman raised a brow.
"What is that face for?"
"I believe I've made you a promise earlier today."
Regina found herself getting hot as she recalled.
"You have," she said walking towards his side of the bed.
She smiled at him as he sat on the edge of the mattress and she settled in between his legs. She bent down, slowly placing a kiss on his lips, her hands cupping his face. Her smile widened against his mouth as she felt his hands sneaking underneath her dress, up her thighs and then her ass.
Regina parted. She looked at him with a smirk before bringing her knees on the bed and sitting on his lap.
"Do you know just how gorgeous you are?" he asked her and she shrugged, though the pink touches that appeared on her cheeks betrayed her.
David chuckled. He stood up before turning around, carefully laying her on the bed.
"Now, I believe I started something I didn't finish," he whispered and she swallowed hard, closing her eyes.
She felt him kiss her jaw, her neck and the slowly finding his way down towards her belly. He pecked it as his hands carefully pulled up her nightgown, uncovering her legs and bump. Regina wetted her lips, her hips rocking in anticipation.
God, she thought as she felt his hands tucked the hem of her panties. He pulled them down, exposing her.
"Are you already wet for me?"
Good God, yes she was.
She opened her eyes and glanced down at him. "You're going to have to find out yourself."
David smirked at her. He licked his lips, eyes still locked on her before kissing her clit. The brunette let out a soft moan, arching her back. He started licking her, tickling her entrance, making her shivers with each lick. He grabbed her hips bringing her closer as he ate her up, sucking onto her clit.
"God, David!" she moaned, clutching onto the bed sheets.
It didn't take her long to hit her climax and once she did, David helped her out of her gown, leaving her completely bare, her pussy swollen by the kisses and her breasts bouncing, waiting for him to give them attention.
It didn't waste one second in doing so and he carefully brought one into his mouth while he softly stroke the other.
"Mmh," he moaned as he licked her nipple, rolling it around his tongue.
Regina through her head back, eyes shut. She let her hands wander on his naked back up until they reach the hem of his pants. Then, she let them wander underneath them, grabbing his butt and squeezing it.
"I'm already so hard for you," she heard him groan as he abandoned her breast in order to suck on the pulse on her neck. "So hard."
The brunette groaned. She placed two hands on his chest and pushed him on his back. She climbed on top of him, placing herself perfectly against his indeed hard cock.
"Fuck," the man let out.
She moaned as well, biting her lower lip. She quickly grabbed his dick, pulling it out of his pants and she started rubbing it.
"God Regina," he told her and she smiled, leaning in to kiss him.
She stayed that way as she placed his dick at her entrance slowly lowering herself down around him.
"Fuck," she whispered against his neck.
David placed his hands on her butt and she rocked him, swaying her hips as she let out moans after moans, groans and cursed words. She was so close. He had really done a number on her in her office and she…
"Fuck…" Regina cried out, bringing a hand to her clit. She rubbed it hard, David's cock still thrusting in and out of her until she let out one last cry and fell on the bed, exhausted. "God," she whispered, rubbing her face.
David chuckled next to her, lying on his side and kissing her shoulder.
"That was…" She laughed, looking at her.
Suddenly she frowned.
"What is it?" he asked.
"You didn't come, did you? Oh God, David, I'm sorry," she said lowering her hand to grab his cock but instead he intertwined his fingers with her and made her look at him.
"It's ok. Tonight was for you."
"But…"
"No buts! I'm fine."
"I don't want to let you leave for Vegas all hot and bothered," she argued, with a raise of her brow and he giggled, leaning in to kiss her.
"Don't worry. I promise to keep my pants on."
She sighed.
"You're sure."
"Mmh," he told her. "Come here." He let her turn around and brought her close to him, her back pressed against his chest.
He hooked one leg around her and kissed her shoulder.
"I love you, Regina."
She smiled.
"I love you too."
.::.::.
It was February 6th and they were all at the airport for David to catch his plane. They had been a bit late but he had managed to register his luggage before they joined his brother, Mary-Margaret and Flynn.
"All set brother?" James asked and David lifted his plane ticket. "Then, I guess we're off."
David turned to Regina and she smiled at him.
"We'll be fine," she assured as he rested a hand on her belly. "Go! Have fun!"
He smiled before pulling her into a hug.
"I love you."
"I love you too. I'll keep the bed warm while you're gone."
She heard him chuckle and she grinned before parting.
"Bye buddy," he told Henry before high-fiving him and hugging him.
"Don't forget to bring me back a souvenir."
"Henry," Regina scolded and both David and James laughed.
"Sorry," he said, sheepishly.
"Don't worry," David whispered to him though he knew Regina could hear him. "I'll bring you a little something."
Henry's eyes brightened and Regina rolled hers.
"Have fun," she told James turning to hug him.
"Thank you. Don't worry, I'll keep him on a leash."
"That goes for you too," Mary-Margaret said to him, looking at him knowingly.
"You know me, love. I'm always an angel." She scoffed. "Take care of mommy while I'm gone," he told Flynn and the boy nodded vigorously.
"I promise Daddy. I will miss you."
"I'll miss you too."
They hugged each other one last time and then the two Nolans headed towards the gate, waving back at their family on the way.
Regina smiled, wrapping an arm around Henry's shoulders.
"I guess it's just us, now," she told Henry, rubbing her belly as well.
He looked at her and smiled.
"Maybe Flynn and Mary-Margaret can hang with us a little bit?"
"That's an idea," Regina said, looking at them. "Why do you say?"
"Please mom, I wanna hang out with Henry and Regina."
Both Mary-Margaret and Regina laughed before the pixie-haired woman agreed with a nod.
"Alright, we can hang."
"Yay," both Henry and Flynn exclaimed and the brunettes laughed.
.::.::.
They went to buy some pizzas and came back to Regina's apartment to eat them there, the brunette not really feeling like staying in the sweaty and oppressive small room at the pizza place.
"You go grab some paper towels for us, please?" she asked Henry.
The boy nodded as he ran to the kitchen.
"Can we eat in the living room?" he asked from there. "We can put on Harry Potter."
"Fine. But just one movie. Mary-Margaret and Flynn have to head back all the way to Staten Island."
"Promise," Henry said, trotting back to her with the paper towels.
They all settled into the living room. The kids on the floor and Regina and Mary-Margaret on the couch. Regina took of her shoes, and settle her feet underneath her butt, settling against a cushion. She closed her eyes, letting out a small sigh.
"Back pain, huh?"
She opened her eyes and looked at Mary-Margaret.
"Yeah," she said, chuckling.
"I think those were the hardest for me when I was pregnant with Flynn."
"For now, they don't top the nauseas."
"Mom," Henry whined. "It's gross."
"Sorry mister!"
She rolled her eyes.
"It wasn't that bad when I was expecting Henry. I mean it's not bad but…"
"I get it."
"Yeah."
"Henry's father…" Mary-Margaret whispered, low enough that only Regina could hear.
She gave her a small smile.
"He died."
"I'm sorry."
"It's alright. He died before I found out about Henry. He never got to meet him." Regina turned to look at Henry. He was engrossed into the movie, barely eating his pizza.
She shook her head chuckling.
"I miss him sometimes," she looked at Mary-Margaret. "But I know he is looking after us."
The woman smiled at that, nodding.
There was a small pause and they both focused a little on the movie.
"I'm glad you're part of the family."
Regina turned to look at Mary-Margaret, surprised. The woman looked at her and smiled and she grinned back.
"I'm glad too."
.::.::.
"Did you have fun?" Regina asked Henry, pulling the covers over his chest.
He nodded happily and she chuckled.
Mary-Margaret and Flynn had left an hour ago just after David and James had called to tell them that they had landed safely and that it was "AMAZING!" Regina and Henry had then tidied up the living room and had gone upstairs to brush their teeth and put on their PJs. Now, Henry was in bed and Regina was tucking him in.
"You're not too sad that David isn't here?" she asked.
"It's ok. I can't wait for him to come back though."
She laughed, pushing a strand of his hair off his forehead.
"What about you?"
"I'm ok," she told him.
He smiled at her and she chuckled, leaning in to kiss his nose.
"Have a good night baby."
"You too, mom."
She was about to stand up but Henry grabbed her arm.
"What is it?"
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Of course."
"Are you and David going to get married?"
Oh! Regina's eyes widened in surprise.
"I… We haven't really discussed that, honey. But if that ever is discussed, you'll be the first to know. I promise."
"I wouldn't mind, you know. I think it would actually be cool."
Regina looked at him with a soft smile, her heart warming itself up.
"Scoot over," she asked him, standing up to pull the covers down a little. "I don't feel like sleeping alone."
Henry rolled to the side and she lied down next to him, bringing the covers back up on the both of them. She then pulled him against him, kissing the top of his head.
"You're the best boy any mom could ever dream of, you know that?"
He chuckled against her.
"I know."
Regina smiled.
"Good night baby."
"Good night, mom. Goodnight baby brother."
Regina brought him even closer to him and closed her eyes before drifting into dreamland. Never mind the shitty weather. She was way too damn happy.
