Prompt: Write a story about an argument between friends and the effect it has on their friendship (do they stay friends? Do they avoid each other etc)

Word Count: 680 (ish)

"Come on Moony! You're always holed up in here studying! If we go to Hogsmeade we'll have fun! Do you even remember what that is any more?"

Remus flamed red and slammed shut his Charms textbook.

"Shut up Sirius! Some of us actually want to pass this year!"

At that Sirius looked furious.

"You think I'm some good for nothing who's going to drop out of school don't you? Maybe you should pay attention to someone outside your little bubble of homework for once! Maybe then you'd notice that I'm not failing anything."

Remus looked ashamed for a minute but quickly recovered.

"You're one to talk! You've been so wrapped up in Quidditch that I'd doubt you'd notice if I just walked off a cliff."

James and Lily watched the argument with a mixture of amusement and despair. The tension between Sirius and Remus had been rising for weeks and the two were constantly at each other's necks, arguing about even the smallest things.

"Fine, we'll go to Hogsmeade without you!" Sirius spun round and marched off.

As soon as they were gone Remus lay his head in his arms and allowed the waves of self pity to wash over him.

Remus was banging his head softly against the desk, wondering why he screwed up everything when the door opened. He lifted his tear stained cheeks and looked up.

"Sirius! I-" He rubbed at his cheeks, hoping he wouldn't notice anything was wrong.

"How come you're back so soon?"

"James said I should come check you were okay." The normally tough Sirius looked concerned. "Are you okay Moony?"

"I'm fine."

He shifted awkwardly. "I just wanted to apologise. Us fighting earlier-it was stupid."

Sirius sat down next to Remus, who shifted uncomfortably as the other boy slung an arm around his shoulders.

Sirius looked hurt as Remus shrugged him off.

"What's wrong Remus? You never talk to me any more. I see you talking to James and then as soon as I come along you just disappear."

"That's not true. Of course I still talk to you."

"No you don't. You're all closed up, like a clam."

"Shut up. You don't know what you're talking about." Remus glowered at him, wishing he would just leave him be. Couldn't he see he was just making it worse?

Sirius sighed. "Look, I'm just trying to help."

"Then just leave me alone!"

"Why are you being like this?"

Suddenly Remus was angry, at himself for being such a coward and at Sirius for being too bloody persistant.

"Because I'm in love with you! Because I love your stupid hair and your stupid voice and the way you can always make people smile! I know its stupid and I'm just a werewolf and I'm sorry!"

Remus chocked back a sob. He hadn't meant to say all of that and he panicked. He knew Sirius would never talk to him again and he didn't know if he could bear that

There was a stunned silence where they just stared at each other. Remus was bright red and Sirius watched him with a slight smirk.

Suddenly Remus was pressed against the wall, Sirius' lips crashing against his. His breath was warm against Remus' ear as he whispered to him.

"Don't ever call yourself that. You're Remus, my Remus, and anyone who can't see that is an idiot."

Remus blushed. "I thought- I mean- you always hang around Marlene and I assumed you liked girls." He shrgged awkwardly and looked at Sirius.

"A guy can appreciate a nice looking girl." Sirius winked at Remus. "You're the only one I'm interested in though. I thought you'd managed to escape my charms with the way you've been acting recently

. Anyway, will you shut up and kiss me now?"
