The Mages Of The Leaf

AN: Hello everyone I'm back again and man does it feel good to once more write this story.

For anyone wondering about my other stories well since I lost everything I'm basically starting from scratch. So i have to once more write up the plot and find where I was going with the story and that may take time.

So I have a lot of work ahead of me so be patient until I can figure out things with them. If any of you wish to give me ideas feel free to leave them in the review section. I make no promises of implementing them into the stories but it'd be nice to see what you guys come up with.

If any of you wish to speak directly to me PM me and i'll try my best to respond. So on with the story that all of you have been waiting for.

-Tenzo's Team-

Tenzo and his team where currently disembarking their boat that they he had made for their trip to the ex land of fire.

"So what exactly are we looking for in terms of clues?" the infamous snake mistress asked in her new ANBU gear.

Anko had after the destruction of the leaf and the death of her mentor and friend Ibiki gotten serious in her ninja career. She still acted like a child but not when she was on the field.

She got serious and took every precaution necessary to insure the safety of her team. She took her job so serious that Naruto had made her one of his personal bodyguards and trusted her fully.

In the one year she had not only raised to the rank of full Jonin but with the help of Naruto had been able to get rid of the curse mark and had been able to join the ranks of the Anbu black ops.

"Uzukage-sama said to head to the ruins of the leaf and start their… with Kabuto there is no telling what his after." Tenzo said while looking at the purple haired kunoichi.

With him where six other Anbu counting Anko aka Snake there was Boar, Bear, Lion, Wolf, Scorpion, and him Hawk.

"Ok so where do we start captain?" Anko said while looking forward at the forest having felt someone watching them.

"Snake, Lion and Wolf head to the ruins and start your search while the rest come with me to search the borders." Tenzo said while the rest nodded and jumped to the trees where they split up.

-Snake-

Anko was jumping from tree to tree but still couldn't shake the feeling of someone watching and following them the whole time.

As she jumped to the next tree she made three hand signs which alerted the others of someone following them without giving anything away. No sooner had she done that were they attacked but the white creatures Shizune had said were named Zetsu clones.

"SPLIT UP BUT STAY WITHIN EAR SHOT KILL ALL OF THEM!" Anko screamed out while jumping back and running through hand signs.

FIRE STYLE: GREAT FIREBALL JUTSU!

Her jutsu had incinerated all the white Zetsus in front of her giving her some breathing room for only a second before more jumped at her.

'Shizune was right this clones are really weak…' she thought while throwing kunais at the closest clone before running through more hand signs and stomping her foot.

EARTH STYLE: EARTH SPEARS

She looked on with mild indifference while the clones were made into skewers.

'What are they after… this can't be more than… A DISTRACTION!'

As she came to this revelation her teammates came back and nodded at her letting her know that they had also came to the same conclusion.

"Shit we were set up contact Hawk now." Lion said while stopping and taking a deep breath.

"Go i'll cover for you!" Anko said while removing her mask and crouching down while inhaling a deep breath.

Her teammate seeing this knew what she was going to do and jump to the tree.

"Uzukage-sama said not to use it unless you were sure you could do it more than once!" Wolf yelled while sending a Wind jutsu at a clone who tried to sneak up on her.

"GO NOW!" Anko yelled once more before releasing her attack.

POISON DRAGON ROAR!

The Zetsu clones stopped their assault and looked on with interest never hearing this attack before. This proved to be their downfall as they soon found a tornado of purple smoke overtake them forcing them to fall to their knees seeing as they bodies melted from the attack.

Taking this as their clue to scram Lion and Wolf left heading in the direction of where they saw Tenzo heading.

-Tenzo-

"I told you we would work well together Madara-sama." Kabuto said while looking at the corpses of Boar and Bear at his feet.

"Hmph… for once I will acknowledge that I was most impressed with your skill Kabuto." Madara said while looking to the slumped body of scorpion at the base of a tree with his broken mask a few feet away from him.

Tenzo was looking at the two with his right eye open while his left was covered in blood. Madara calmly approached him while putting his battle fan away on his back.

"Well let us go we have what we came for." with that he threw Tenzo over his shoulder before leaving via his swirling vortex. Kabuto smiled at this before dissolving into the ground.

Lion and Wolf came upon this horrid scene and instantly went to check on their teammates. To their horror Boar and Bear where dead making them close their still open eyes.

Though as Lion approached Scorpion did he see him let out a deep breath that he was probably holding to look dead.

"Scorpion thank kami your ok what happened to captain Tenzo!" Lion said forgetting for the time being that they were in the middle of the forest.

"M-madara… a-and K-kabuto attacked us… w-we never s-stoo…" with those words Scorpions head fell signifying his death in the arms of Lion.

"Damn it we set up from the beginning weren't we?" Lion growled out while tightening his grip on Scorpions shoulders.

"We need to seal their bodies up and fast… they might be after Snake as well." Wolf instantly said while going to Boar and Bear and sealing their bodies up making Lion do the same.

"Double time it Lion!"

"I know!"

-ANKO-

Anko was having a tough time with this clone even though they were not that strong their numbers were the real issue.

POISON DRAGON SLASH!

She was going all out reverting to using chakra to the dragon slaying arts to be able to keep fighting. She then sense something behind her and trusting her instinct was able to not only dodge Madara's incoming hand made to grab her but was able to land a good hit on him.

POISON DRAGON TOXIC SPIT!

Not expecting this attack Madara was caught off guard when the purple liquid hit his chest. He immediately knew it was dangerous when he saw purple smoke rising.

"What is this!?" he roared while flinging his new cloak away from him seeing it melt.

Anko seeing who she was up against ran through hand sign just as Kabuto slammed her into the ground. Kabuto thought himself successful in disrupting her jutsu until white smoke filled his vision.

Reacting to late Kabuto was flung away crashing through multiple tree only stopping himself with a last minute substitution.
"Looks like i made it in time Lady Anko." a 15 feet long snake hissed out while coiling its massive black scales around her protectively.

"T-thanks for the save boss man." Anko said while smiling at the new head of the snake summons.

"It seems that she now holds the snake summoning contract." Madara mused while looking at her with narrowed eyes.

"Not for long after I'm through with her I'll be taking it back in the name of Orochimaru-sama." Kabuto said while glaring at Anko.

"Hahahaha you think the Snakes will follow you dont make me laugh boy the only reason we followed Orochimaru was because Manda made us… but now with him dead we now choose out Summoners and we choose Anko while you will never be allowed to summon us." the snake hissed at him while glaring at him with his bright yellow eyes.

Kabuto seethed in anger while glaring bloody murder at Anko who had the decency to smirk at him and stick out her tongue at him.

"let's show them our combined strength Saisei!"

"Right Lady Anko!" as he yelled out his response he lunged at Kabuto forcing him to jump back trying to gain some distance.

Madara on the other hand was about to leave when Anko was able to sneak up behind him much to his shock.

'That's impossible no one should be able to sneak up behind me!" he yelled inwardly before he felt the piercing pain of Anko biting down on his neck.

"AHHHHHHH!"

Kabuto having been distracted by Madara's scream was soon caught by Saisei who then proceeded to slam him repeatedly onto the ground without mercy before tossing him to Madara.

"Saisei let combo them!" Anko yelled out while her eyes turned yellow and grew scales around her eyes and her nailed grew longer.

"Right!"

PIONSION DRAGON ROAR!

TOXIC BREATH!

Madara and Kabuto were both caught in the middle of the attacked making them feel their lungs burn with the deadly poison.

"Unless you guys are treated fast you'll both die in about 15 minutes so i suggest you flee now before it's too late." Anko said while staring them down trying to look tough while knowing in about 3 minutes she would keel over from exhaustion.

"I'll make sure you pay dearly for this your wretched snake bitch." Madara forced out while grabbing Kabuto's hair and teleporting away.

Before she passed out she saw her Lion and Wolf running towards her and waited forcing chakra throughout her body to keep awake.

"Lion, Wolf where are the others?" she asked while dreading their answer.

"Captain Tenzo was captured by Madara and Kabuto while the others were killed by them." Wolf answered while LIon help her stand.

"Dammit! They were just in front of me damn it! Had I known that before hand, I would have made them return Tenzo!" she screamed while hitting her head.

Saisei had already left as soon as he saw her teammate approach her now here she was beating herself over it.

"Anko get it together we need to move now and inform the Uzukage before more of those things return." LIon reminded her while looking around not dropping his guard.

"R-right let's go then." Anko told them before Lion nodded and ran through hand sign.

SUMMONING TECHNIQUE!

In a poof of smoke a large Lion appeared in front of them.

"Joro we need you to take us to the shoreline we need to return to the village and fast."

The Lion nodded and allowed them on before taking off at breakneck speeds never slowing down.

-Uzukage's Office-

Naruto was now back in his office once more over looking more plans from Mavis this time about defense lines and where to best utilize the soon to be graduates from the academies.

"Lord Uzukage as you can see those are all the teams that were formed this morning alone and I would like your approval on them." Shizune said while handing him the list.

Naruto silently looked over them before marking down some notes on the list and highlighting other then handed it back to her.

"I want the highlighted teams giving an instructor asap and test first thing in the morning if they don't balance out change them around as you see fit." Naruto told her while grabbing the next paper giving to him by Hinata.

Shizune looked it over and saw he highlighted his daughters team for immediate testing as well as gave notes on others who she knew didn't work that well together.

"Right away sir."

"Lord Uzukage this is the report of the border patrol squads from the Inuzuka's and Aburame clans." Hinata said while handing him the reports.

"Hmm nothing to the East or South… tell them to split into four teams and to search the North and West next Hinata."

"Yes Sir."

"Where is Fuu right now?" Naruto asked no one as he was alone in the room.

Or so one would think but out of the wall came out a dog mask wearing anbu who instantly kneeled before him.

"Sir she is currently being trained by Kakashi and Gai to pass the Jonin exam that she will be taking tomorrow morning." the anbu said while keeping his head down.

"OK, I need you to send anbu operatives to the academies and have them take a team immediately and train them i don't care how you do it, just make sure they are prepared by weeks end." Naruto said without looking up from his workload of paperwork.

"RIght away!" just like that he was gone once more.

As he continued to read there was a knock at the door making him pause for only a second.

"Enter!"

"Uzukage-sama you called for us?" the voice of Konan was heard while he looked up.

In front of him were Konan, Tayuya, Ur, Nagato, and Tsunade waiting patiently for his next words.

"Yes granny I have a favor to ask of you if you will listen to it?"

"Sure."

"Good i need you to take over the hospital so Shizune can concentrate on the medical academy and fully train the children as much as possible or if you'd like the other way around." Tsunade looked into his eyes and saw that this wasn't really a choice just a sweetly coated order.

"Let Shizune run the hospital i'll whip those kids into above average medical ninja by this time next week." Tsunade told him with a wicked grin while cracking her knuckles.

"Thanks granny… as for you four Ur i will be sending you to the Sand to act as a general with 300 of our man Tayuya you will go to the Stone Konan to the Cloud and Nagato to the Mist and in turn they will all send the same amount of man to each other that way all the villages will have a little of each other and boost cooperation." He said while looking them in the eyes before raising his hand to stop their protest.

"I'm choosing you four since i can easily contact your four with the holographic jutsu much better."

"I see very well then when do we leave?" Konan asked while seeing his reasons.

"In three days since Tenten was supposed to go with Lee and Neji to the Cloud to help the Raikage search for his brother but I changed my mind at the last second and had her instead contact all the village to prepare this so she should be with the other blacksmith crafting weapons and scrolls right now." Naruto informed while remembering telling Tenten to go and help the blacksmith to speed up productions.

"So go and ready yourself for this."

"Yes sir!"

They left after giving him a small bow and filed out of his office one by one before he leaned back and rolled his stiff shoulders around.

"Damn I'm beat… how I wish this was all a nightmare and I could wake up to my family and just enjoy life slowly."

"Hmph if your already tired from just this then you wont last in the coming war brat."

'Hey! I that was just wishful thinking ok i'm sure nobody wants to go to war… but anyways do you have any idea as to who could be behind the mask if not Madara?'

"I only have one but I can't be too sure since the last I heard he was killed in the third great ninja war." Kuruma said while sitting down and grabbing his chin in thought.

'One will do for now.' Naruto said while turning his chair around and looking at the village before him.

"Your mother was quite fond of him since he acted a lot like you did back in your younger years when you wore your idiot mask… his name was Obito Uchiha and he was once the teammate of your sensei Kakashi and a girl named Rin while also being a student of your Father." Kuruma told him while trying to remember the annoying little runt Kushina used to treat like a little brother or surrogate son.

'Obito Uchiha huh… do you know what happened to him to make you uncertain?' Naruto asked while looking down at the streets and seeing people walk by each other with tense shoulders quite obviously feeling the tension in the air.

"From what your father told your mother Rin was kidnapped and Obito broke the rules of the mission to go save her since he loved her and ended up getting crushed under piles of rock after they rescued her and the enemy activated the self destruct on their hideout…"

"That is also where Kakashi got his Sharingan since he lost his eye to one of them and since Obito got crushed and knew he was going to die gave up his still remaining good eye to Kakashi as a dying wish."

'With everything you just told me it's hard to believe him turning his back on his friend just like that… what about this Rin is she still around?'

"No she died on a mission with Kakashi no one really knows how just that Kakashi came empty handed from that mission saying he saw Rin die and I would wager that is also how he managed to awaken his Mangekyō Sharingan."

'That would explain him always visiting the memorial stone back at the leaf so much.'

Naruto was starting to understand his sensei more and more and was wondering how he could still smile after all the losses he suffered in his younger years.

'I will have to talk with my mother about this Obito Uchiha… and by the way, why do you think it could be Obito Kuruma?'

"When you spoke to him at the Kage Summit I sensed a little bit of Obito in him but I couldn't be sure maybe Madara did survive and found the dead Obito and was able to salvage his other eye and maybe that is what i sense but i cant be too sure… what I am sure of it that he feels nothing like that blasted Madara every did."

'Then we will just have to rip that stupid mask of his no?'

Kuruma just laughed in acknowledgement to Naruto's response but before Naruto could retaliate there was a knock at his door.

"Enter!"

In came Erza and Temari fully decked out in their kunoichi attire ready for the war and for Naruto's orders.

"What's up you two?"

"Naruto we wish for you to put us in the front lines of war we will not stand by and watch all our friends die." Erza said while looking him in the eyes.

Naruto saw that they were both very serious and couldn't help the frown that grew on his face.

Sometimes he hated being a kage.

-Medical Academy-

Wendy and her friends were currently checking their supplies once more before heading to the training fields to be sorted with a verteran Shinobi and begin their training.

Sarah was tying her hair into a high ponytail while Trevor removed and threw his jacket on the ground of the training field. Wendy on the other hand started doing some light stretches which she was soon joined by Sarah and Trevor.

Carla was currently sitting down just looking at them while she saw Rex stretching as well and so Carla started wondering what she could do to improve and help cooperate to the team.

Suddenly a poof of smoke went up and from it came a cat mask wearing woman with purple hair and a tanto on her back.

"You must be the team I'm assigned to train... when I call your name stand in front of me… Wendy… Sarah… Trevor." as she called their named they stepped forward and she was able to get a good look at them before nodding and backing a little.

"What will we be doing to-" Sarah wasn't able to finish when suddenly the anbu appeared in front of her and kicked her hard in the stomach making her skid back ten feet before being caught by Trevor and grabbing Wendy and both jumped in the tree behind them.

"In war the enemy will never tell you when the fight begins, in war the enemy will strike when he finds an opening so prepare yourself because i'm not stopping until either your scratch me or I knock you all unconscious!" Neko screamed out while stabbing her sword into the ground and running through hand signs.

FIRE STYLE: PHOENIX FLOWER JUTSU!

Wendy and Trevor saw the attack blow their previous cover to ashes and cursed themselves for not coming up with a plan sooner. Sarah, on the other hand was trying to take big gulps of air as she was finding it hard to breath.

"Let's head to the lake over by the right… I may not know many but i can use some water jutsu's." Trevor said while Wendy nodded her head and they moved fast.

After another minute Sarah was able to catch her breath once more and soon righted herself and gave them both an apologetic smile.

"S-sorry guys for not being p-prepared." she said while jumping with one hand on Trevor's shoulder just in case.

"Don't worry about it right now what we need is a plan?" Trevor more asked then stated.

"Wendy what are your abilities?" Sarah asked while rubbing her stomach.

Wendy walked forward and placed her right hand on her stomach and it started to glow green making Sarah sighed in relief.

"I can use basic medical jutsu's some wind jutsu's my mother Temari taught me and some support moves to strengthen your attacked and defenses… I can also boost your speed and reaction time for a little while maybe ten seconds at most right now." Wendy stated while trying to remember everything she knew so far.

"I can use my clan's basic jutsu's some water jutsus i found in the library for academy students and i can heighten my senses more with chakra for a short time, maybe an hour if I push it." Trevor went next while looking at Sarah.

"I know my clans signature move and some basic taijutsu plus a two earth jutsus." Sarah told them making them all look at each other trying to come up with something.

"What Water and Earth jutsus do you guys know?" Wendy asked them.

"I know Wind Style: Great Breakthrough, Wind Style: Cutting Whirlwind, Wind Style: Air Bullet and its variation Wind Style: Air Bullets, Wind Style: Wind Dragon." as she finished her list Trevor and Sarah were impressed for only a second remembering she had Temari as a mother.

"Well i know Water Style: Water Wall, Water Style: Jet Stream, Water Style: Water clone and Water Style: Water Whip." Trevor said while signaling Sarah to go next.

"All I know is Earth Style: Mud Wall and Earth Style: Mud Bullets." Sarah said while they all put their heads together.

Before they could make a plan Neko dropped down and kicked Trevor in the Face before grabbing Sarah and kneeing her in the stomach again but this time with more force knocking her out.

Wendy was able to jump back to where Trevor landed and saw his nose bleeding and before she could run towards him Neko threw some shurikens at them forcing them apart.

"Wendy use one of your support things on me make me faster and sturdier!"

"Right… Fast wind that run the heaven...ILE VERNIER!... and Power of the stout arms that tears heaven… ILE ARMS!" after Wendy said this Neko looked on in interest until she was nearly blindsided by Trevor's fist filling her vision.

'H-how did he become so fast… had i been even a second slower he would have surel-'

Neko stopped her train of thought when she saw the boulder she was in front of gain a noticeable spiderweb crack on where her head was not even a second ago.

'H-had that made contact with me i would have surely died.'

Soon Neko found herself dodging a faster Trevor only barely dodging in time until Trevor used one of his family's signature moves.

FANG OVER FANG!

This time Neko was not prepared for the increased in speed and strength the young kid had or the attack from behind.

SKY DRAGON ROAR!

Neko was about to jump up when she saw a shadow above her and managed a quick glance up only to see Sarah being carried by a flying Carla even though she could see Carla struggling with the added weight.

"NOW!" Sarah screamed and with that Carla let go.

EARTH STYLE: MUD BULLETS!

'I have no idea how she's back up but whatever Wendy did to them made them as fast as Jonin and just as strong… very good you three.'

Neko was then blown away by all three attacks which made her skid back until she slammed into a trees her mask shattered and her blade broken.

"D-did we win?" Sarah asked on her hands and knees from the throbbing pain in her stomach.

"I think- OW- so." Trevor said just as Wendy snapped his nose back into place.

Neko slowly got back up making the kids get into weak fighting stances even Wendy who had never truly fought anyone with killing intent was exhausted.

"V-very good you t-three… if you k-keep this up… you w-wont have anything to w-worry about." Neko was able to tell them before falling to the ground unconscious making Wendy stumble towards her.

As she made is to her Wendy fell to her knees and started to heal her with what little ether-nano and chakra she had left.

"I-i guess we passed… thank fucking goodness now i'm gonna take a long nap." Trevor told them before laying down and instantly going to sleep.

Sarah was already out like a light snoring lightly Wendy seeing this smiled and finished her small first aid to their instructor before also passing out but not before telling Carla something.

"Carla please go tell grandma where i am and what happened i do not have the strength or energy to move please and thank you."

"Honestly child." Carla said while looking at the four of them out cold before bringing her wings out and flying to the Uzumaki household.

War has started and teams are being made is everything ready for the fight to come is everyone ready for death, you'll have to wait till next time my friends.

AN: I'm done yay here is the next chapter bois now as for the other stories I'm currently working on them as well so no worries there just give me a little more time.
