Chapter Seven Curiosity Killed the Cat

Amegakure; Two weeks after Naruko is spotted

Deep within the village of Amegakure, astral images of nine figures could be seen standing in a half circle on what appeared to be massive fingertips of a massive blindfolded and gagged statue. One of them, what appeared to be a tall man with spiky hair and metallic silver, rippling eyes, spoke first. "It appears that the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi has been spotted after all these years." The man said in a monotone voice before turning his attention to another person, a male of average height that had the unusual appearance of having a Venus fly-trap attached to his body and one half of his body being a shade darker in the projection. "Zetsu, if you would."

Zetsu spoke to the others in his two different voices. "Over two weeks ago she was spotted traveling through the Land of Grass with someone we believe to be another Uzumaki by one of her old comrades, Shikamaru Nara, and a temporary squad that was with him while they were on a mission." White Zetsu said. "When asked by her former comrades if she would come back to Konoha, she informed them that she had never heard of it before and was attacked by the two Jounin on the team. She crippled both of them with what seemed to be two blades in both of her hands and a blade that came out of her right foot, she was seen heading towards the Land of Stone after that by a merchant group that gave her and her companion a ride." Black Zetsu finished.

"So now the squirt is back in the world after so long." Kisame Hoshigaki, a man named the Monster of the Hidden Mist and a former member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist that had a shark like appearance, said with a grin stretching his face as he heard about her dispatching two Jounin with ease. "I can't wait to see if she improved."

"Maybe, but it's most likely that she won't stay in one place for long." Itachi Uchiha, the older brother of the now international criminal Sasuke Uchiha, said as he turned his eyes to his fishy partner. "According to Zetsu the jinchuuriki seemed to be a bit spooked by the team that she encountered and that before then she has always been on the move with a redhead that she calls Karin-nee."

"I hear she has a nice bounty on her head for several rumored assassinations in the Land of Stone and Rice, along with dismemberment of a Land of Stone Samurai Unit three years ago." Kakuzu, one of the Immortals of the Akatsuki, said with greed filling his eyes at how much money he would receive from all of the bounties, he had been searching for this assassin for the past three years. "We could capture her to collect the money and then recover her body for the extraction."

Pein gave a slow nod in agreement as he thought over the greedy banker's idea; even though she had definitely gotten stronger the Leader of Akatsuki was sure she would be no match for his power. "Agreed, her bounty will fund our plans well, we'll just need to steal her body back from the dealers afterwards. Zetsu what do you know about the other Jinchuuriki?"

"The Ichibi is in Suna as you already know as the acting Kazekage. The Nibi has only been leaving Kumo when she is training or takes missions, so there will be an opening the next time she takes a mission. The Sanbi is still missing in action after the fight between the previous Mizukage and the new Godaime, though there has been no confirmed death of Yagura. The Yonbi we have found out is living in a log cabin on the border of the Land of Stone, where he isolates himself from his village. The Gobi is still residing in the Tsuchikage Mansion as Oonoki's personal guard. The Rokubi was last seen traveling around Demon Country with a female from the Tsuchigumo Clan a few months ago but they have been laying low ever since they were attacked by several Kiri Hunter ninja. The Nanabi is currently in Takigakure living in the Tree's top to avoid any contact with the villagers. The Hachibi Jinchuuriki we should also avoid until we have more members to fight him because he as rumored has full control over the Hachibi and its power." Both sides of Zetsu said.

"I see," Pein said before looking at the rest of the members of Akatsuki. "First I want Kakuzu to work on where we can find the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki, Deidara you and Sasori will go to capture the Ichibi Jinchuuriki since your skills will be useful with the jinchuuriki being in the village most of the time as their Godaime Kazekage." The rogue Suna puppeteer and the Iwa bomber nodded, while Kakuzu just grinned beneath his mask at the amount of money he would get on the girl's bounty.

Pain continued soon after, "It is doubtful that the Hachibi will leave very far from Kumo being the brother of the Raikage. So we'll ignore him along with the missing Rokubi and the Kyuubi for the time being, which leaves us the Nibi and Yonbi. The Demon Cat is assigned to Hidan while the Yonbi will be taken by Kisame due to his Water jutsu's being able to cancel the Yonbi's Lava."

"What will I be doing leader-sama?" White Zetsu asked as his other half calmly watched the proceedings to inform Tobi later on.

"You will continue to look for the Sanbi so we can locate and seal it." Pain said before ending the meeting and one by one the images of the members faded away as he and Konan returned to Ame to govern his people while the others went about their jobs.

Land of Rivers Motel; Same time

Naruko sighed as she stretched from her position in Karin and her shared bed, their money having run out along the way to the point they could only afford a small room. 'That was a weird dream…' The feline Uzumaki thought as she felt her metal bones click. 'There's no way someone actually looks like a fish while carrying a bandaged up shark sword.'

The blonde then stood as she heard her older sister getting out of her early shower.

Hokage's Office; Two Weeks Later

Tsunade gave a deep sigh as she fought the urge to take the bottle of sake that was sitting in her drawer and chug it with no abandon as she looked over a report of the Uchiha being spotted in the Land of Grass and his new bounty from the Kusakage for the massacre of several dozen of his subordinates.

'When I get my hands on that bastard, I'm going to carve him open while he is still alive and then hang his body in town square so everyone can have a turn at desecrating his body,' the Senju woman thought as she stood up from her desk and moved towards the window to take up her favorite hobby of staring out over the village. 'Where could Naruko be? I hope she is safe and that we can bring her back soon…'

"Enter," she commanded when a knock came at her door.

Turning to see who was interrupting her quiet time and she found herself staring at the recently promoted Jounin Shikamaru Nara and the rest of Team Asuma standing before her desk. "You summoned us Lady Tsunade?" Asuma asked as he came to stand in front of his former team.

Tsunade nodded and walked back to her desk, "I have a mission for you four and team Kakashi when they get here; I want your two teams to investigate the sightings of Uchiha Sasuke in the Land of Grass and Iron regions and kill him if you come across him."

"So he's finally been sighted?" Shikamaru asked as he stared coolly at the Godaime, the young Nara not wanting to wait to rip the Uchiha a new one for the crimes he committed.

"Correct," Tsunade said before she patted another scroll. "You will also be performing another mission on the side where you will be paired with Team Gai and Team Konohamaru once done with your current mission to investigate and track a trail that one Naruko Uzumaki left in the Land of Claw with the assassination of a young diplomat a few days ago."

"Yes ma'am!" The four members of Team Asuma exclaimed as their eyes gained a hardened glint at the prospect of being able to bring their friend home after their failed attempt last time and they saluted the woman, showing her that they would be placing these missions as their highest priorities in life until they were completed.

"You're dismissed!"

With that they all disappeared in a shunshin to appear back at their apartments to prepare for their long missions.

'Godspeed to you all.'

Land of Fire capital; same time as Tsunade's Meeting

Karin Uzumaki, adopted sister of the former Oto weapon Naruko Uzumaki, sighed as she sat outside a tea and dango shop near the center of the Land of Fire's capital while waiting for Naruko to finish up the contract to steal a precious gem from the Daimyo's family. She honestly wished that the blonde would take a rest from the assassinations and miscellaneous jobs they had been doing in order to get money, especially after she was hired to assassinate the young diplomat that was visiting the Land of Claw a few days ago by a fat politician.

For the past few weeks, she had been wondering about the team of Konoha ninja they had run into and how a couple of them had been familiar with her cousin and adopted little sister. Ever since their encounter, she had heard about how teams of Leaf ninja had been scowering the surrounding countries to try and locate the clawed blonde in an attempt to bring her home.

Taking another bite of the dango she ordered, Karin took notice of her little sister coming towards her across the rooftops with a member of the Guardian Twelve chasing her; in the blonde's hands was what looked to be a massive amethyst.

'Oh well,' Karin thought as she stood and dusted off before pulling the hood of her cloak over her crimson hair. 'Time to get to work…'

With that done, she vanished from her spot only to appear several houses away behind the guardian ninja, startling the young man as golden chains shot out of her back and wrapped around him; letting her sister get an even bigger gap of distance between them, to which the disguised blonde looked back and nodded in thanks before disappearing into the alley between the two houses she was above.

"Sorry but I can't let you go any farther…" Karin said in a monotone voice as her prisoner rounded on her with a snarl, infuriated at being stopped in his task of retrieving the gift the daimyo planned to give to his daughter for her birthday in a week.

"You stupid bitch!" The Guardian shouted as he flared his chakra and managed to escape his chains before pulling a battleaxe from his back and leaping towards the redhead in order to remove her bespectacled head.

"Hn," was her answer before a chain wrapped around the man's weapon holding wrist and launching him away from her into the side of the house next to them, leaving dozens of cracks where he had impacted the building. She then appeared above him with his axe in her hand and descended towards him in attempt to bisect him with his own weapon, something he narrowly avoided as he leapt off the wall to the other side of the alleyway to safety.

"Oh well…" Karin said with a sigh as she looked back at the man that avoided her attack, her crimson eyes containing a bored look as she observed his movements while he did the same to her, though he obviously wanted to go after her sister to retrieve his lord's jewel. "I guess that we've run out of time… so sorry for this bub."

The Guardian twelve member raised an eyebrow in confusion, wondering what she was apologizing for before a blinding white pain erupted through his lower back as a boot with a blade sticking out of it impacted the small of his back when the original person he was pursuing appeared behind him.

"Shit…"

He immediately collapsed to the ground as the blade of her foot severed his spine and Karin stood up, taking a short look at the axe in her hand before placing it in a seal on the inside of her left wrist, adding it to the spear and ninjato she already had.

"What took you so long?" The redhead asked the younger girl as she moved over to where the blonde had been hiding while said blonde dug through the trash and pulled the massive amethyst from the pile.

"Sorry nee-chan," Naruko said as she sent an apologetic look at her adopted sister, completely ignoring the now crippled ninja that lay on the ground in constant pain. "The daimyo's room was much more guarded than I expected and I couldn't crawl through the window until the faggot and his fat ass of a wife left with their advisor."

Karin nodded at the explanation, remembering a time when they were hired to assassinate the Land of Demon Daimyo's son quietly and he had been occupied with some priestess that had platinum blonde hair.

"Are you ready to leave then?"

"Yes nee-chan," Naruko said with a happy quip in her voice before they began running off towards where they were to meet the client, some blue haired noble woman from the Land of Rain.

"So what do you want to do once we are finished with this job?" Karin asked after a few moments of silence between the two. Naruko just shrugged as she shifted the bag that held the gem on her back, "I was thinking about looking into that Konoha place those wierdos were talking about a few ago. It's like something has been calling me to it and I keep getting flashes of some blonde lady with big ass tits."

Karin just raised an eyebrow at her sister's word and smirked, "Are you sure you aren't imagining yourself when you see the woman?" She asked, knowing how much her little sister envied her for having a high c-cup chest while Naruko herself only had a medium A-cup chest.

"Shut up!" Naruko growled at her sister, a whine in her voice from her sister bringing up that small vanity of hers, only to get a chuckle from the teaser. "It's not fair that you're bigger!"

Karin just smirked at the sixteen year old girl as they landed in front of the doorstep of the meeting house and the redhead pushed open the door before they both walked in and deposited the large gem on the table in the middle of the living room where a blue haired beauty sat wearing a back-less dark blue halter-top and had a round piercing just below her bottom lip.

"Ah so you got what I asked for Aka-san, Ki-san." The woman said as she opened the package to find the large gem she had asked for from the two upon getting nods from the two Uzumaki clan members.

"Yes Konan-san," Karin said as she grabbed the briefcase of money off of the table after counting it to make sure that all eleven thousand two hundred sixteen yen dollars were accounted for. "We only had a bit of trouble with one of the Guardian Twelve, but we managed to remove him from play through a bit of sneaking about."

Konan's smiled in approval, knowing that the Guardian Twelve members weren't exactly push overs, though she knew that the members of her organization could probably beat them before she stood up from the table and began walking towards the door of the small house. "Nicely done, members of my organization might contact you some time in the future in case we need more jobs done. Goodbye Aka-san, Ki-san."

With that the blue haired beauty disappeared into the night carrying the satchel that held the gem she had requested and Karin grabbed the money they had been given in order for the two of them to make their way out of the capital as well.

"Let's go Naru-chan."

She nodded and with that the two sisters disappeared out into the daylight covering the capital with their money in hand before making their way to the gate without their cloaks on in order to avoid anybody looking for the thieves of the amethyst.

So how did you guys like that chapter? I am completely and utterly sorry for how long it took me to post this up on my page, nearly a year I believe, so again I am sorry. I just couldn't bring myself to write anything for this story since I couldn't find any motivation whenever I sat here waiting to bring out the stories potential.

So, now that that is over, I was wondering how you guys liked the little anonymous meeting between Akatsuki and Naruko's little group. I was originally thinking of making them meet with Kakuzu for the job to be funny since he is the one supposed to be looking for them but wouldn't know that he had meet them. However I thought it to be even better to have Akatsuki's second in command do it for the sheer hilarity of it.

In the next chapter, we will be having a bit of fun with Konoha when she and Karin arrive and have the fun being where Naruko and Karin actually converse with Shizune and Tsunade in the Ichiraku Ramen stall without the Godaime or her assistant knowing that their beloved Naruko was beneath their noses. Also we will be having a fight between Team 7 and 10 against Sasuke when they run into him; p.s. the duckbutt's bio is down below.

Just so all of you know for their codenames you guys saw in the chapter, Aka means Red and Ki means yellow; also 11216 yen is equivalent to 100 American dollars.
