Universe: Big Hero 6

Summary: With a life of heroes, there were a few injuries along the way. What the team hated yet sometimes loved the most was a concussion, which was always fraught with either concern or amusement for a day as the member recovered under the care of Baymax.

Note: Five short one-shots about each member getting hit in the head. Because it's not only Hiro I'm sadistic about. Also present tense because I don't do a lot of that. Enjoy!

Wasabi

Wasabi wasn't an accident-prone person. He was articulate in neatness and order, and occasionally tried to persuade his friends to be so too, with little effect. So when he slips in a puddle and lands on his back with a nasty whack just as they're heading back from a job well done, everyone looks around in surprise.

"Oh my gosh! Are you okay, Wasabi?" Honey asks in alarm, seeing him flat on his back on the concrete.

He grimaces and doesn't reply. His head feels broken, but distantly, as if it's not really his.

Fred, the closest, offers a hand to him and grins at the bemused expression on his face.

"You're meant to take it, dude," he says helpfully, and Wasabi dutifully allows Fred to help him to his feet, blinking in an annoying confused way.

Hiro watches him with curiosity and the beginning of concern. "Hey, Baymax, take a look at him before we carry on," he decides, glancing at the robot beside him.

Baymax nods and scans his patient immediately without moving. He was going to anyway, as it was his job, but he had obediently waited for the instruction.

"Scan complete. He has obtain bruises on his back which will need icing later once they have developed," the nursebot informs them, and Hiro sighs a little in relief, glad it was nothing too serious. Then Baymax announces, "he has also sustained slight head trauma, resulting in a minor concussion."

"Hmph," is all Wasabi answers in reply, absently rubbing the back of his head. "It's fine. Can we go now? All this walking isn't great."

Hiro glances at Baymax, who nods in a non-committal way, confirming that they are okay to carry on. They all head back to SFIT for the afternoon, GoGo glancing in mild amusement at Wasabi, who seems to not be as fussy about scuffing his shoes as he had been.

Later, at the lab, Honey walks past Wasabi, standing in the middle of the room, does a double take and backtracks to stand in front of him.

"Uh, Wasabi?" She attracts his attention hesitantly. The student blinks and looks up at her in mild surprise.

"Oh, hey," he replies vaguely. Honey stares at him for a moment, then glances at the floor where he was looking; there's an empty flapjack wrapper there. She returns her gaze to Wasabi, who continues to just stand there, and tries not to laugh at his absent expression.

"Is... is that yours?" Honey asks tentatively. He nods, a slight frown on his face. "Er... what is it doing there?"

Wasabi sighs as if this is complex scientific problem he's been on for weeks.

"I know I need to pick it up because it's ruining the cleanliness, but I don't see why I care," he explains, wide eyes on Honey.

She clears her throat in an attempt to hide a giggle at Wasabi's too innocent expression.

"Ah. I can do it for you if you're dizzy."

"Thanks," he replies, relief written all over his face as though Honey has just solved a major issue in his life.

Honey grins and swiftly picks up the wrapper, waving briefly to Wasabi as she walks over to the bin, and letting herself laugh properly.

After a moment, GoGo wanders over.

"What's so funny?" She asks, eyes narrowed.

Glancing at Wasabi, who is finally walking absently towards his lab space, Honey chuckles again and beckons the curious student towards her, relating in a low voice with a smile how the earlier concussion was amusingly effecting him.

By the end, both girls are laughing, earning them a curious but fearful look from a passing Hiro, who Honey waves innocently at with a bright smile.
