Lunch period was usually Tenten's favourite time of the day. She could just sit back, socialise with her friends, and as an added bonus, munch on an epic lunch she packed for herself. Usually it wouldn't involve her having to drag her sorry ass into the school's hallway and begging for money like a streetwhore.

Okay, that was an exaggeration, Tenten would admit. It wasn't that she wanted to do it, but this year it was her class's turn to collect money for charity, and in an attempt to try and gather more donors, Kakashi-sensei pitted the guys against the girls to see who could get the most money. The winners would get free lunch from Kakashi-sensei and no homework for the day. If there were two things that Tenten loved, it was free food and no work, so she was game for it.

Being in a group with Ino would challenge her out of her comfort zone, though. Also, being only four girls, their options were limited and they were not allowed to spend anything on expenses. It had to be a service that one could be paid for in return. Of course, no one liked manual labour, and the idea of a car wash was out seeing as the boys already did it, so Ino suggested the one thing nearly everyone would be uncomfortable with.

A kissing booth.

Hinata had a panic attack. Then Sakura had to give her mouth to mouth. Ino thought everyone was overreacting, especially Tenten. Now, Tenten didn't really think she overreacted. The table she threw didn't hit Ino hard, and the bump on her head healed nicely.

Despite the opposition to the idea, it came out on top. All they had to do was look good and show up, and surely boys would line up to get kisses.

The first day was Ino, everyone agreed as it was her idea, and sure enough money came streaming in. Everyone wanted a piece of the blonde bombshell. After all, Ino was insanely popular and easily one of the most beautiful girls in school. The short red summer dress she wore probably only helped, and it's a miracle she didn't get suspended for wearing it. Perhaps because a few of the male teaching staff ended up in the line as well, only to be dragged away by the ear by principal Tsunade.

The next day was Hinata. She brought in just as much money as Ino, and she would've brought in even more if Naruto hadn't ended up at the front of the line with an impish grin. She promptly passed out, but Naruto had already paid so he went ahead and got his kiss anyway. What a champ.

The third day was Tenten. She would've liked to go last, because hopefully all the guys would've been satisfied with the other girls and left her alone. She wouldn't have taken it personally. In fact, she didn't care for her popularity among the male student body in general, so who cared. But the word about the kissing booth had gotten around. The fact that Ino posted ads on Facebook didn't help. Boys were already standing idly in the hallway, waiting for the next girl to set up her booth so they can buy a cheap kiss. Tenten didn't see the appeal. Why kiss a girl that nearly all the other boys in school have already kissed? And why do it when you have to pay? Didn't anyone have any pride? And honour?

Whatever. It didn't matter what she thought of it. She was already set up in the hallway at her booth, checking her makeup in the compact she usually had in her bag.

Today she had to go all out, as Ino would boldly state. She wore her hair down, heck she even blow dried it to make it look shinier, and now it hung in volumus tresses around her face. Her attire consisted of a green and white summer dress, white flat pumps and to compliment it, a small green bow in her hair. For once, she had makeup on. She refused to put freakin' fake lashes on like Ino nearly made her do. Instead, she went with normal black mascara, a little bit of black eyeliner on the upper lid and glittery lipgloss. It was already over the top as far as Tenten was concerned, but she would admit that it looked rather good.

The bell rang for lunch time and she swiftly put her compact away. Her stomach twisted in knots and she knew she must've looked incredibly uncomfortable sitting at the booth - hopefully it would be such a turnoff, no one would want a kiss.

"Yosh! Today is Tenten's turn to grace us with sweet kisses for capital! I was hoping for the fair Sakura, but now I know she would be awaiting my lips tomorrow!"

Tenten blanched. Oh no, it was Lee. Her good friend. Maybe he wouldn't want a kiss from her. He'd wait for Sakura. Then again, he did wait in line for Hinata and Ino as they both recounted the tickle of his bushy eyebrows on their foreheads.

Suddenly, he appeared in front of her, evidently the first in line now.

Sparkles burst from his eyes. "Tenten! I would like to purchase a kiss from you!"

Fidgeting, Tenten tried very hard to not hurt his feelings. She was struggling to appear friendly and welcoming, but it was rather difficult when Rock Lee was about to be your first kiss.

Yeah, okay. She'd never been kissed before. That was the actual reason she was so against this.

Tenten didn't have much time to internally grumble over it, as Lee was already reaching for a dollar inside his pocket. Mentally, Tenten began to scream. No. No. NO. This could not be happening. She should get up and run. Screw charity work. She was not kissing the guy whose eyebrows were furrier than the school mascot.

"Uhm, Lee, hold up-" she tried to save her own neck, and then Neji Hyuuga appeared behind Lee.

Oh, Neji Hyuuga. She could write a book about him. She hated him. She loved him. She loved that she hated him. She hated that she loved him. She dreamt about him. She had nightmares about him. She avoided him. She craved his attention. She vandalized his locker once. She also left a rose in his locker once.

He made her crazy.

Lee froze when Neji stood behind him in interest. He didn't look like he was in line, more like he was watching Rock lee be in line. Tenten surveyed the scene in interest. It was as if they were having a mental conversation. Neji shot Lee an intense look, an understatement considering his Hyuuga eyes looked like it could melt steel from the sheer intensity it omitted. Lee's confidence seemed to waver. His eyebrows dropped so hard, they nearly hit the floor. Wordlessly, he pocketed his money, spun on his heel and left.

And Tenten just sat there wondering what the hell just happened.

All the boys in the hallway then suddenly acted up. They left. It was as if Neji Hyuuga was a danger to their health and they had to vacate the vicinity lest they catch Ebola or something. Tenten furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. What on earth?

"How much do you need?"

"Wuh?" was her intelligent response to the holy being standing in front of her. He wasn't exactly known for his patience, but for some reason the corners of his mouth twitched when she stared at him in blank awe.

"How much do you need to reach your quota for the day?" he asked smoothly, hands resting aloofly in his pockets as if the situation was normal. Tenten, who was back on earth again, gave him a confused look. Was he teasing her? Was he genuinely interested? See, this is why he frustrated the crap out of her. If he could just come out and say what he meant then-

"Because I'd like to buy all of it."

Tenten scratched the side of her head. Huuyga, say what? "Uh, excuse me?"

Confident, Neji took out his wallet. She could only imagine the allowance he got, being a Hyuuga and all. After all, Hinata probably got more than him and she nearly almost always offered to pay for drinks when they went out and stuff. Hell, Tenten didn't even get an allowance. Money was a luxury to her. To a Hyuuga, it was something akin to water maybe. Dust. Air.

He kept his face straight. "Your kisses. I want to buy all of it."

He was joking. Right? Awkwardly, she pointed her finger to the flyer she had hanging at the front of the booth. "Uhm, only one kiss per person?" Her brain shut off, but her senses suddenly heightened. She became aware of every shift in his body, every mannerism when he talked, every blink of his wondrous eyes and he just stood there staring her face as if he wasn't leaving until he got what he wanted. Nervously, she ran a hand through her long hair, not used to how soft it was today. His eyes followed her hand.

"Then perhaps one deluxe kiss?" he asked, again, as smoothly as ever. Of course, he had a counter-argument for everything. Tenten was very tempted to just take his money and give him what he wanted. On the other hand, she was curious to see how badly he wanted it.

"And what is a deluxe kiss?" she asked, and by some spot of luck she had some flirty confidence in her voice. In her request, she unintentionally leaned forward and gave him a good view of her neckline. Not that is was particularly low, but the angle was probably good enough to give him a good show.

She dared his eyes so shift, but she had to give it to him. He kept his cool. He was Neji Hyuuga. He was all about coolness.

"Why, the best kiss you could possibly offer." His voice ghosted over her as he leaned over himself. He rested his palms on the table as if he was negotiating politics, but his face had the raw need of a starved homeless man. Tenten felt her heart flutter uncontrollably. When she woke up this morning, she never imagined she would be flirting with Neji Hyuuga at a kissing booth. Of course, somewhere deep down she had hoped he would come to pay for one. He wasn't in line for Ino, and it went without saying he didn't for Hinata either.

"The best kiss ...hmmm, what about my first kiss?" she offered with playful eyes, but her voice came out shyer than she intended. Her words startled him, and he looked like he wanted to high-five himself. He didn't even notice that he slipped on his cool facade a little. In fact, he looked excited.

"First?" he nearly breathed out. "And to think Lee was nearly about to get that treat."

Tenten's face exploded. 'Treat'? What did that mean? She just admitted to him she hadn't been kissed before and he was just relieved that it hadn't been Lee. Don't get her wrong, she was more relieved than anyone else, but is reaction threw her off guard.

"Very well," he said, having come to his decision. "I will pay good money for your first kiss." He opened his wallet and suddenly something inside Tenten clicked.

'Ooooohhh, he doesn't want anyone else to kiss me ...holy shit, he likes me! Oh my gosh. Okay. Play it cool. God, I really hope I dont have something hanging out my nose. Is my makeup still okay? I hope it didn't smudge. Oh my gosh, I'm blushing. Okay. Breathe. Come on.'

She didn't even dare to look at the amount he put into the jar, because she instantly became insanely nervous. Her mind completely switched off now, but Neji seemed calm as ever. She was about to say something, when he bent down, softly graced her chin with his hand and connected his lips with hers.

It was rather strange. In retrospect it was oddly more romantic looking back on the moment than the actual moment itself. That being said, it was still extraordinarily exhilarating and her heart nearly burst out her chest. She kept her head still, wondering whether he would dare try and make out with her in the hallway, even though it was strictly against the rules. In fact, they had to get special permission from principal Tsunade and bribe her with wine to get a permit.

Of course, being a gentleman, he didn't dare try to stick his tongue down her throat. Instead, he slowly pulled back, his eyes still closed as if he was committing the moment to memory for life. Her eyes were open all the way, as he gave her no warning beforehand, but she was quite happy about this for she could see the sweet smitten expression on his handsome face.

He pulled back all the way, accepting the moment was over. She could only imagine how flustered she looked at that second, but he looked at her as if she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. Only Neji Hyuuga could seduce her without saying a word, she realized.

"Thanks," he mumbled, out of character, but the kiss seemed to throw him completely off his game.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, Tenten tried her best to give him a happy smile. "Why don't you text me sometime?" she offered, hoping he would respond in kind. It was a rather daring thing for her to say.

Neji smirked, victorious. "Count on that." He left. She watched his back as he walked down the hallway and entered the cafeteria.

Tenten let out a breath she didn't even notice she was holding. Trying to regain her composure, she looked at the jar to see he'd left an enormous amount of money. Maybe even his whole allowance. Heck, maybe he'd been saving up for this moment his whole teenage life.

If there was one thing Tenten was sure about, it was that Sakura would have to show up naked tomorrow to get more money than Tenten did that day.
