Bonnie sighed as she sat in the empty library reading about the civil war. It was very boring, but she had a report due tomorrow for Tanner and he'd have her head if she didn't turn it in. The librarian had granted her permission to stay and work. All she had to do was lock up before she left.

Damon Salvatore was hungry. He needed to feed. He walked past the library and heard one heartbeat.

Hmm... Damon thought. He was too hungry to turn down the offer of food. Even if it was a librarian.

Bonnie yawned once again before closing yet another book. These books were the exact same thing. She needed something original to impress Mr. Tanner with this assignment.

"What's a girl like you doing alone in a big, lonely library?" Bonnie heard someone ask. She turned and met the man. He was a couple inches taller than her, he had pale skin, and brown eyes. His hair was brown too. He wore all black head to toe.

"How did you get in?" She asked the man.

He looked the girl up and down. She'll have to do. He thought.

"The door was unlocked." He replied.

"No, it was locked." Bonnie retorted. The man sighed and rolled his eyes. Then veins appeared under his now red eyes and he flashed Bonnie fangs.

She didn't have a chance to respond before she was slammed into the wall. The man made a move to bite her neck but then he froze and fell to the ground. She looked up and was met with a blue gaze.

"You just ripped his heart out." Bonnie stated. She looked at the new man. He had blue eyes, black hair, and towered over her. He was dressed in all black that looked good against his pale skin.

Damon smiled and looked at the pretty girl. She had long curls that cascaded past her shoulders, she reached his chest in height, and she had caramel skin. She wore a red sweater with blue jeans and red flats.

"Yes I did, and I saved your life." Damon replied. He wasn't sure why he ripped the other vampire's heart out, but he felt this strange urge to protect the girl before him. "What are you doing here?"

"Why should I tell you? I just met you and you ripped his heart out." Bonnie stated, while narrowing her eyes.

"Fair enough. What if, I tell you who I am and what I am, and in exchange, you tell me who you are and what you're doing?" Damon bargained, genuinely curious about this girl.

Bonnie narrowed her eyes. You don't even know this guy Bonnie! You shouldn't trust him!

"I did save your life just moments ago." Damon stated as if he knew what she was thinking.

"Fine!" Bonnie gave in. He had a point. He did just save her life.

"I'm Damon Salvatore and I'm a vampire." Damon said smoothly. I'll compel her to forget later.

"You're a vampire? Like from Twilight?"

"God no, are you mad? Vampires don't sparkle."

Bonnie laughed a bit at how obviously mad he was at her for even thinking he was like a vampire from Twilight.

"I'm Bonnie, and studying about the Civil War. I need something original to write for my report, but I can't find anything. And of course I left it until the last minute." She explained. Bonnie felt a tad more relaxed around him, however she didn't completely trust him.

"I can help you with your report you know." Damon offered. He wasn't sure why, but he felt inclined to help her. "I lived through the Civil War."

Bonnie looked at him hesitantly. Should I accept his offer? It is due tomorrow and I don't really have any other options.

"Fine, but no funny business."

~~ Adore ~~

After Damon disposed of the dead vampire and helped Bonnie with her report, he took her home. He'd stop somewhere else and get a meal.

"Thank you." Bonnie told him when he walked her to her door.

"Your welcome Bonnie." Damon replied. He moved some of the hair from her face behind her ear. He wasn't sure what it was, but he felt something for the girl before him.

Bonnie smiled at him again, getting lost in his pretty blue eyes. Her eyes flickered to his lips before meeting his eyes again. I shouldn't be thinking about kissing him! I just met him and he's a vampire!

Then Damon shocked both of them by kissing Bonnie. He wrapped his arms around her waist and she wrapped hers around his neck.

Damon pulled away and smiled at Bonnie. It hurt a little, because he did have some interest in her, but he had to compel her to forget.

"You're going to forget any of this happened. You were at the library and finished your report. Forget you ever met me." Damon compelled her. Then he disappeared into the night.

Bonnie stood there, confused. What was he trying to do?

One thing neither of them knew, stopped the compulsion from working.

She was a witch.

And witches can't be compelled.

Hey babes! I'm back from a much needed break! I went back and reread some of my stuff and was like "wow this is really cringe worthy." So I'm revising and editing my stories! I apologize for such a long wait. I had so many ideas but I couldn't write them how I wanted. I've been writing some other stuff besides fanfiction and doing stuff with music and finally feel ready to come back to fanfiction. Thank gosh!

Also, I didn't change the entire chapter, but some things. I noticed a lot of reviewers didn't think Bonnie automatically agreeing to work with Damon realistic, so I edited somethings to make it seem more Bonnie like. I apologize if anyone still doesn't think it's realistic for Bonnie, but I think it works this way. More chapters are coming and more updates to my other FFs are coming! So get ready!
