Hi, all.

Unfortunately, I haven't written anything of late. This is one of five oneshots that I've had floating around Tumblr for many moons. I can't figure out why I've never posted them before, but I've been in a strangely MWPP-era mood lately and figured I'd do some minor editing share. As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Red Handed

"How did you know I was here?" Lily's head snapped up to look at James. His lips tilted up into a sort of half-smile.

"I have my ways."

She eyed him as he leaned against the door, blocking access either to or from the room. He looked amused—not like he was about to run off for a teacher. "Yes, well," she cleared her throat and went back to rifling through Slughorn's desk, "as long as those 'ways' are working for me and not against me, I wont ask about them too much." She choked out, ignoring the blush that told him she was very aware that he'd just caught her trespassing in a teacher's private rooms after hours.

"Lily Evans, Head Girl. I never would have picked you for the thieving type." He observed as she sifted through the stack of parchment on top of the desk.

She didn't look up. "I'm not stealing anything, Head Boy. I want to copy something." She opened the drawer and lifted out a small tray of empty vials. "Why? Are you going to report me?"

"Never in a million years, love. Besides, Sluggy's in Hogsmeade for the night." He grinned at the sharp look she threw him.

"I'm not your 'love'." She reminded him, feeling the blush return to her cheeks.

"Not yet." He winked.

She only rolled her eyes. "If you say so. Just keep an eye out for Slughorn."

As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
