Chapter 13: We Got A Plan

"Inuyasha, dear, let me explain what's going on so we can all be on the same page," Korari calmingly states as she gives her son-in-law a gentle smile. Inuyasha stares at her before letting out a deep breath and sitting back in his black, wheeled chair.

Korari glances at her husband, out of the corner of her eyes, only to see him sitting in his chair with his large muscular arms crossed and a guarded expression on his face. She lets out a tired sigh before speaking.

"The Band of Seven, as they like to call themselves, is a terrorist group that consists of seven men that enjoy wreaking havoc. They've completed numerous unspeakable actions that have weakened various countries' governments and their security systems. They have also taken the lives and gruesomely torture several innocent people." She pauses and nervously wets her lips before continuing.

Inuyasha's eyebrows furrowed together as he saw the nervous expression on his mother-in-law's face. From the numerous occasions that he spent time with Korari, he had never experienced her look so small and defeated. She was always an upbeat and cheerful woman.

"Recently, it has come to our attention that the Band of Seven has become active in Japan again."

"How recently?" Inuyasha wearily asks as he leans his tense forearms onto the clean, black glass table in front of them.

"A few months," Makoto speaks up. "They have been conducting business here for a few years now though."

"How were you able to discover all of this?" Inuyasha asks with a raised brow.

"One of my agents notified me that one of the members was in town, a few years back," Makoto states as he looks directly at Jakotsu. Jakotsu shrinks back at Makoto's scrutinizing glare.

"Guilty." He jokingly waves his body hand in the air, causing the handcuffs around his wrist to clink against each other.

"Amongst other things," Sota off-handley mutters, causing his mother to slap his arm as punishment. Naraku rolls his eyes at his little brother's childish antics before leaning back in his chair, causing it to squeak at the added weight to the back of the chair.

"Be nice," Korari chastises with a frown marrying her face.

"Wait, wait, wait!" Inuyasha exclaims, causing Jakotsu and the rest of the table to look at him in confusion or annoyance. "You're part of this Band of Seven?" He questions with a look of disbelief written on his face. "But you use to dat-"

"Yes, Jakotsu and I used to date," Naraku admits as he covers his eyes in embarrassment. He didn't enjoy talking about people's personal lives. He most of all didn't enjoy broadcasting his personal affairs to so many people.

Kikyo loudly gasps as she turns to face Naraku. Everyone at the table now turns and looks at the flustered Kikyo in curiosity.

"But we slept together!" Kikyo screechs, before shrinking back in her seat, from embarrassment as well, at her outburst. She covers her face in her sweaty hands as she tries to calm her beating heart. 'What is happening?' She thinks to herself as she begins to fan her red face.

"What?!" Jakotsu, Korari, and Suikotsu shout in shock and disbelief. Kagura stares at the scene unfolding before her with amusement in her red eyes. She crosses her arms underneath her chest and leans back in her chair, waiting to see what other drama would be exposed.

"Can we just get back to the task at hand?" Naraku questions as he rubs his forehead and tries to change the subject to the matter at hand.

"We'll talk about this later," Korari sternly states as she points a finger at him. 'And here I was, wondering about Kagome's sexuality.'

"After separating Jakotsu from his brothers, we were then able to start our investigation," Makoto continues with an amused smirk on his face. Although he wasn't a fan of learning about his children's sexual history, it was amusing, to him, to discover that his son slept with his son-in-law's first girlfriend. 'Oh! Christmas will be interesting this year.'

"What were you and your people going to do once the "investigation" was complete?" Inuyasha says, putting air quotes around the word investigation.

Makoto turns in his seat and stares at his son-in-law with a deadpan expression on his face. However, Inuyasha stares back at his father-in-law with a curious yet determined look on his face. 'He really wants to know everything in order to protect my daughter and grandchildren,' Makoto thinks as he lets a brief smile form on his face. "Neutralize the threat, of course."

There is a moment of silence as everyone in the room reflects on Makoto's statement. Inuyasha nods as he relaxes, a little, in his chair. However, he was still alert.

Naraku sighs as he glances at Jakotsu who looks pale while he stares at the table with sad and scared brown eyes. He felt sorry for his ex-boyfriend. Although they were a terrorist group, he knew that Jakotsu cared a lot about the members in the Band of Seven. Although they weren't biologically related, they all valued and treated each other like they were brothers.

"We originally believed that the Band of Seven had left Japan due to Jakotsu's disappearance," Korari says as she entwines her fingers together.

"However, we were made aware of their presence, again, due to the church fire that Kagome was involved in," Sota finishes as he places his elbows on the table. "Although we have been investigating them for a long time, we hadn't gathered much information about them."

"Until Kikyo," Naraku speaks up, causing Inuyasha and Kagura to look at the woman in question. Kikyo had managed to calm her fast beating heart and return her face back to its' normal pale color. However, at the mention of her name, a small blush forms around her cheeks and nose as all the attention was on her again. "She helped us find their leader and discover some of his intentions."

"Who happens to be?" Inuyasha asks with annoyance embedded into his tone. He was getting tired of this meeting already. Inuyasha just wanted to know who was threatening Kagome and what he could do to protect her.

"Bankotsu," Kikyo shamefully mumbles while folding her hands in her lap.

"Bankotsu, why doe-" Inuyasha starts to say while lightly snapping his finger to remember where he heard that name before. "Wait, he," he says before pausing as he registers who that name belonged to. His eyes widen in disbelief. Inuaysha couldn't believe it! The same man who had saved his wife and children from a burning building was also the same person who was trying to kill them. "But wait! If he's the leader of this so-called terrorist group, why would he save Kagome? Isn't his goal to kill her?"

He was confused, none of this was making sense to him. Inuyasha lets out a tired sigh as he leans back in his seat.

"We would have let Kagome die in the fire, if that's what our boss wanted," Suikotsu bluntly states, causing the Higurashi men at the table to turn and glare at him. He nervously clears his throat and shifts in his seat at their hate filled glare. "However, the person who hired us wants Kagome alive."

"You said we as in-" Inuyasha's confused tone starts to say, causing Suikotsu to cringe as Inuyasha starts piecing the information given to him together. Inuyasha's eyes look at Suikotsu with confusion and anger.

Suikotsu looks at Kikyo who gives him a stiff smile as she reaches over and grabs his hands. She gives his hand a squeeze before setting their connected hands down in her lap.

"Yes, he's part of the Band of Seven too," Sota casually confirms while leaning back his seat and entangling his fingers together.

"Wow, you've slept with two members of the Band of Seven and Naraku. Someone's been busy," Kagura taunts with an arrogant smirk as she stares at the woman in front of her.

Kikyo flinches at Kagura's statement. She made it seem like she was some sort of slut that hopped from man to man. 'However,' Kikyo ponders with furrowed, angry eyebrows. That didn't give her the right to air her business everywhere, especially in front of people she barely knew.

"Excuse me?" Kikyo snaps as she lets go of Suikotsu's hand and slams her hands on the table. The rest of the table looks down at the two women with curiosity and annoyance."Would you like to repeat that?"

Kagura leans forward to speak, but Jakotsu's hand on her shoulder stops her from snapping back at the angry black-haired woman in front of her. Kagura raises a curious brow as she looks at her friend.

"Don't mind her," Jakotsu interjects with a wave of other hand. "She used to date Bankotsu," he explains before steering Kagura, by her shoulder, to face him. "Calm down Kagura, your jealousy is showing."

Kagura flinches back from her friend with a shocked expression on her face. "Jealous? Hardly," she snaps with a frown while crossing her arms across her chest. "I'm just wearily of her loyalty. For all we know, she could be screwing Mukotsu as well."

"Ewww! Gross! Why would you say that?" Suikotsu snaps in disgust as Jakotsu gags in the background. Based upon Mukotsu's hideous appearance and creepy personality, they all knew no one would willingly sleep with a man like that.

"Can we get back to the problem at hand?" Naraku frustratedly asks as he looks at Suikotsu and Jakotsu with a tired glance. Kikyo huffs as she glares daggers at the woman in front of her while leaning back in her seat. Kagura sneers at her before turning her seat to face Makoto.

"So, have you guys figured out who the Band of Seven's boss is?" Inuyasha asks as he turns to look at his in-law. He too was frustrated with the side conversations. Inuyasha also didn't want to discover his ex-girlfriend's numerous sexual partners.

"Earlier tonight, we were alerted about who the Band of Seven is working for," Korari slowly states. Makoto reaches over and grabs her hand that's starts to shake. Inuyasha and Sota raise a brow at their actions. Korari looked terrified. "Underground, he's known as Bandit, however his real name is Onigumo Yanaka."

"And that leads to why we called you all here tonight," Makoto finishes as he gives his wife's hand a squeeze before retracting it and placing his arm on the table.

"Dad, what's going on?" Sota asks as he shifts in his seat to look at his father. He was worried; he never saw his parents shaken up like this.

Makoto looks at Korari for help, but she places a shaky hand over her mouth and shakes her head no. Makoto gives her a slight nod before raising a hand to cup the side of his head. He rubs his temple with his fingers as his thumb rests against his cheek. He needed to tell them; if he didn't, he could be risking the lives of his precious daughter and grandchildren. Makoto lets out a sigh of defeat before speaking.

"Onigumo, used to be my second in command. He was a good man; always the first to run into battle, putting our men before himself. I admired him. However," Makoto says. He pauses as he nervously wets his lips."After working with him for a couple of years, we noticed that information in our database was being leaked. We later discovered that his daughter, Kaguya Yanka, was the one hacking into our database and selling information to the Russian government. When confronted, she denied it of course. But we had all the proof, against her, that we needed. While we were transferring her, she overtook one of our guards and killed seven of our men. When Onigumo and I went to stop her, she had Korari held at gunpoint."

Everyone leaned forward as Makoto took a dramatic pause. Korari wraps her arms around her body to stop herself from shaking and provide comfort to her increasing heartbeat. "Onigumo begged us, begged me to not do it. But Korari looked so scared. Before I knew it, Kaguya was on the floor dead; a bullet in her head and one in her heart."

"She was so young," Korari whispers as she stares at the table with blank eyes. She could still remember nineteen years old Kaguya's cold, black eyes staring back at her as a string of blood rain down her forehead and out the corner of her mouth. Onigumo and his family were basically family to them. They had seen his children grow up.

"I've killed hundreds, but this one," Makoto says as he leans his forearm against the table. His usual firm, yet humorous eyes were now sad and remorseful. "This one was personal."

"So, he's after Kagome because you killed his daughter?" Sota asks after a moment of silence. He vaguely remembers Onigumo and his family. Sota glances at his brother out the corner of his eyes to see him staring at their worried mother.

"Yes and no," Makoto states as he wraps an arm around his wife. "Since the death of Kaguya, Onigumo had turned his back on us and this country. He created an underground organization that focuses on stealing vital information from our government and selling it to the highest bidder. His organization has also been linked to the deaths of over twenty government officials and a few of our allies. That's how he got his name, the Bandit. He-"

"So why now?" Inuyasha interjects, causing everyone to look at him. He leans forward, onto the table, to stare at his in-laws."Why is he after my family now? What does he want to prove?"

"Inu-" Naraku starts to say but Inuyasha's fist slamming on the table stops him. Kagura and Kikyo jump up in their seats before turning their gaze to the angry half-demon in shock.

"What the hell did you do?" Inuyasha fiercely growls causing Naraku to stand up. He was going to calm his brother-in-law down with his fist.

"Inuyasha calm dow-" Sota says while reaching upward to grab his brother to stop him from doing anything that would harm Inuyasha. He's able to grasp the bottom of his cotton t-shirt.

"We tried to kill him!" Everyone turns their heads to look at Korari.

"Korari-" Makoto whispers as he looks down at his wife in surprise. He worriedly bites his bottom lip as he sees the scared expression on her face.

"No Makoto. We need to tell them everything," Korari admits as she looks into his concerned blue eyes. She turns her head to look at the confused adults sitting at the table. They were all involved because of her family. "Since Kaguya's death, Onigumo has been threatening our family. He tried to have the boys killed multiple times in the field."

"What?!" Sota and Naraku sharply ask as they look towards their mother. Makoto raises a hand to stop his sons from saying anything else. Korari needed to tell them the entire truth.

Korari anxiously wets her bottom lip before continuing."When Makoto discovered where Onigumo and his men were located, I adamantly recommended that we eliminate him. I convince everyone that he would be a huge threat to our central intelligence in the upcoming future. However, I just wanted him dead so he would stop trying to kill Naraku and Sota. After speaking with this president, he gave his approval to the military to assassinate Onigumo and his men. Almost a year ago, the building that Onigumo and his team were working at was blown up. We thought we had killed him. We were so sure of it!"

"Korari, you need to calm down," Makoto coaches while squeezing her tense shoulder. Everyone in the room remains quiet as they digest the information given to them.

"He should have died," Korari whispers as tears run down her face.

"He should have," her husband agrees as he reaches over and wipes the tears rolling down her face. Korari closes her eyes as she feels Makoto's rough fingers brush against her cold cheek. Her eyes flutter open and she smiles at the maturing face of her husband.

"What happened?" Sota interrupts, causing his parents to turn their heads and look at him.

Naraku emotionlessly takes a seat back into his chair. He couldn't believe it. He wearily looks at his parents with wide eyes. It felt like he didn't know who his parents were.

Makoto clears his throat as he turns to address his son."It has to be his sons. Muso and Byakuya."

Naraku's eyes widened in shock and recognition at the last name his father had just mentioned. 'I know that name.' Unknowingly to Naraku, Kagura is staring at him with a raised brow and curious expression on her face.

"We don't know how he got into contact with them; they were living with Onigumo's wife's parents since Kaguya's death," Korari says.

"Since Onigumo is back with the Band of Seven, what do you suggest our next plan of action be?" Inuyasha quietly asks.

The room gets silent as the Higurashi family looks at each other. The Higurashi men weren't sure where to go next.

"You can't be serious?" Suikotsu's angry voice breaks through the silence, causing everyone to turn their heads to face him. "For over a year, you had Jakotsu locked up in a cage, had me betray my brothers and for what?! For you all to not have a fucking plan!"

"Suikotsu," Kikyo gently whispers as she places a hand on his arm. He quickly snatches it away as he stands up and slams his first onto the glass table.

"No! I risked my life on-"

"We had a fucking plan you imbecile," Naraku spits out as he angrily glares at Suikotsu.

"But things have changed now," Sota nervous supplies. Suikotsu turns and fixates his angry stare at the smaller man next to Naraku.

"Let them fucking think Suikotsu," Inuyasha snaps as he rubs his temple. Kikyo turns and stares at her ex-boyfriend in response.

"What?!" Suikotsu irritatedly argues as he turns his gaze towards the only inu half-demon in the room. "Look I don't need to get advice from pretty boy ov-"

"Who the fucking hell are you calling pretty boy?! Yougood for nothing, traiting bas-" Inuyasha aggravated yells as he leaned forward in his seat.

"Suikotsu," Kikyo's pleading voice echoes off the concrete walls.

"Suikotsu look!" Korari firmly exclaims. Everyone, besides the arguing men, flinch in surprise. "We have a plan."

"We do?" Makoto questions as Sota nods in agreement. He was confused. Sota wasn't sure what his mother was thinking of doing.

"Yes." Korari sighs as she turns towards the frightened and anxious looking Hojo. 'Poor dear,' she emphatically thinks as her eyes soften. "Hojo, if you would be a dear."

"Huh? Oh yes ma'am," he softly says as he turns on his laptop. Hojo clicked a button on his laptop, causing a large, black monitor screen to slide down from the ceiling. Everyone watches the monitor roll down to rest above Makoto's head. Suikotsu raises a brow as he sits down in his seat.

They quickly turn to face Korari who had a serious expression on her face. Any sign of being fearful or nervous was gone.

"Korari, what are you doing?" Makoto quietly asks as he places a hand on her now relaxed shoulder. He was confused on what his wife was planning. They hadn't discussed a plan before they gotten to the underground, soundproof conference room.

"What we should have done, without obtaining help or permission from the government," Korari states, causing Makoto's eyes to widen in shock. When Onigumo started threatening their sons, Korari and Makoto had created a plan for eliminating him if the government refused not to help. They were aware that they could lose their job and be put in prison if anyone found out about the plan. However, they were willing to risk it in order to keep their family safe.

"Are you sure?" Makoto carefully questions. Korari pauses as she stares at her husband. She continues to stare at his dark, trusting eyes, looking for any signs of doubt in them. She didn't detect any uncertainty in them. Korari gives him a small smile before nodding. They had to do it in order to keep everyone they loved protected.

"Okay," Makoto mutters as he leans back in his seat. Korari nods as she turns towards Hojo and motions him to turn on the monitor. Everyone's eyes squint as the screen turns a bright white, before a map is displayed on the screen.

"We're going to continue with Naraku's original plan," Korari confidently states as she leans back and pushes herself out of her seat. She walks around Makoto's seat to stand underneath the screen. "However, we're going to make some drastic changes to it."

Naraku curiously looks at his mother as he leans forward in his seat. He was interested in what changes she was going to make, especially if she wasn't getting authorization from the president himself.

"What's said in this room may not leave this room," Korari softly states as she begins to walk around the room. She stops to stand next to Hojo and slowly moves her gaze to meet everyone's eyes. "If we find out that someone leaked any information from this room, their actions are punishable by death," she finishes as she stares at Suikotsu. Suikotsu stares back at here with an equally serious expression on his face. Jakotsu nervously shifts in his seat while Makoto lazily stares at him.

"No one, especially Kagome, should not know anything about this." Korari moves her eyes to look directly at her son-in-law. She loved Inuyasha like he was her own son. However, she would do anything to keep her daughter safe. "Understood?" She asks as she sweeps the room to look at everyone before fixating her stare on her son-in-law. Korari needed him to understand the severity of this mission.

"Yes," Kagura and Kikyo say at the same time, causing them to snap their heads up and give each other a nasty glare.

"Yes," Hojo squeaks out, causing Makoto to let an amused grin form on his face.

"Yes dear."

"Yes mother," Sota and Naraku say after their father.

"Yes Mrs. Higurashi," Jakotsu meekly mutters.

"Understood," Suikotsu mutters as he crosses his arms. He needed to know if working with the Higurashi's would benefit him or lead to a quicker death when Bankotsu found out what he was up to.

Suikotsu sighs and glances out the corner of his eyes at Kikyo; his eyes soften. However, at the end of the day, he needed to know that she was going to be safe once they started to embark on this new plan to take down the Band of Seven and Onigumo.

"Inuyasha," Korari softly whispers as she stares at him. Inuyasha averts his eyes downwards to look at the table. This was a lot for him to take in. He knew he couldn't keep this big secret away from his wife. However, Inuyasha was also aware that by telling Kagome it could risk not only her life, but their daughters' lives as well. Inuyasha sighs as he runs his shaky fingers through his limp hair. 'Fuck!' he curses as he leans back in his seat. He just wanted his family to be safe.

Inuyasha slowly raises his eyes up and looks at his mother-in-law's dark brown eyes. He ignores the curious stares he gets from the other people around the table. Inuyasha needed reassurance that his wife and children were going to be safe if he went along with this plan.

"If anything happens to her," Inuyasha fiercely growls as he leans up in his chair, causing it to squeak at the shift in weight.

"Nothing is going to happen to Kagome," Korari states as she gives him a stiff nod. "Kagome and my grandchildren will be safe. I promise you."

Inuyasha continues to stare at her honest eyes before nodding and exhaling a long puff of air.

"Do you understand, Inuyasha?" Makoto asks as he leans forward on the table and stares directly at his son-in-law. Although he may not like him for marrying his daughter and getting her pregnant multiple times, he knew that Inuyasha loves Kagome and their children and would do anything to keep them safe.

"Yes. I understand."

"I'm fucking tired," Inuyasha yawns as Kikyo opens the door to his parents' house. After Korari had explained what the plan was and when it was going to be executed, everyone was dismissed for the night, well early morning.

Suikotsu had told Kikyo to go home with Inuyasha; he wanted her to be safe for tonight. After sharing a brief hug, he told her that he would text her on when it would be safe to visit his apartment again.

Naraku and Sota had stayed in the underground room in order to ask their parents more questions about Onigumo and the Kaguya incident.

"It is six in the morning," Kikyo softly reminds him as she walks inside; Inuyasha follows in after her. He lets out a tired sigh as he closes and locks the door behind him. He couldn't believe what just took place several minutes ago. Inuyasha was aware of some of the dangerous missions and secrets that Kagome's side of the family was involved with. But he never imagined that he would be involved with it. However, like Inuyasha told his in-laws after the meeting, he was going to protect his family.

"I wasn't expecting all of that," Inuyasha admits as they stand in the foyer facing each other.

"Neither was I," she responds while letting out a humorless laugh. She wraps her arms around her body in order to create some sense of security for herself. Kikyo never imagined that she would be involved in her current situation. She felt scared and worried for not only herself but for her family as well. If Bankotsu discovered that she was working with the Higurashi family, who knew what he would do to her parents.

Kikyo sucks in a large amount of air at the frightening thought. She shouldn't be scared for her life. She shouldn't be worried about saying the wrong things that may result in her getting killed. Kikyo didn't want this life, she wanted out. She wanted her old life back.

"Are you safe with Suikotsu?" Inuyasha worriedly asks as he tilts his head and stares at her. Kikyo blinks as she snaps out of her thought.

Although they weren't dating, he still cared for her and didn't want to see her hurt. "Because if you aren't, you can always stay here," he states as he sweeps his arm across the room. He allows a soft smirk to form on his face. "We have more than enough room."

"Thank you for the offer Yash," Kikyo says, allowing a small smile to form on her face as she stares at her ex-boyfriend. "But I'm fine, Inuyasha. Suikotsu, he makes me feel safe and happy. I know he'll do everything in his power to protect me."

"That's good to know." Inuyasha lets out what felt like the twentieth tired sigh of the night. He runs his fingers through his bangs.

"Hey," Kikyo says softly as she takes a step closer to him and places a hand on his shoulder. She knew that he was worried based upon his tense shoulder and the upset expression on his face. "Kagome and the kids are going to be okay."

"We don't know that, Kiks. If that guy is so adamant on killing Kagome to get back at Korari and Makoto-"

"Inuyasha, Kagome's going to be fine. Her family isn't going to let anything happen to her. Hell, you're not going to let anything happen to her."

Inuyasha chuckled at Kikyo's confidence in him. A moment of silence consumes them before he breaks it by letting out a defeated sigh and running a hand down his face. "I know. I'm just worried, you know."

"Everything's going to be fine," Kikyo says before wrapping her slender arms around his neck to hug him. She takes a sniff of his natural scent and lets out a happy sigh. 'I miss this,' she thinks as she feels him wrap his arms around her, pulling her body closer to his warm one. 'I miss him.'

Inuyasha gives her body a squeeze as his tense shoulder sags a little. "Thanks. I needed that."

"Any time."

"Inuyasha?"

The man in question looks up and sees his wife standing a few feet away from them. She's dressed in a long blue pajama shirt; her first are clenched at her side, gasping the bottom material of her shirt. Her hair is in a messy bun, revealing her worried blue eyes. There are slight bags underneath Kagome's eyes and wrinkles on her forehead, indicating that she probably didn't get enough sleep last night.

"Kagome," Inuyasha breathlessly says as he unwraps his arms around Kikyo. Kikyo takes a step away from Inuyasha and wraps her arms around her body as she looks at the pregnant woman in front of her.

Inuyasha stares at her with an unreadable expression on his tan face. He couldn't form the right words to express how he felt. As Inuyasha stared at her, he wanted to run and wrap his arms around her and tell her everything. He wanted her to wrap her arms around him and tell him that everything was going to be okay and that they'll get through it together. But on the other hand, for her safety, he couldn't.

Kagome stares at him with a blank look on her face as her eyes shift from Kikyo to lay on her husband. "You're back. I was worried; I've been looking for you all night and morning," she says in a monotone voice.

"Yeah," Inuyasha casually says as he nervously scratches the back of his head. He glances down, at the floor, before looking back at his wife. He arches a black brow as he sees the angry fire in her eyes. "Kikyo and I. Hmm, we went out for some last-minute drinks last night."

"Last minute drinks? All night?" Kagome questions with a tilt of the head. She didn't believe him. They had been together for over three years and whenever he was lying to her, he would nervously scratch his head and look at the ground. "Well it must have been earlier this morning because we didn't finish our first movie until one this morning."

"Well, I was having a rough time and Inuyasha helped me, hmm, through it," Kikyo nervously explains. She too could sense that Kagome was angry at the two of them and didn't believe anything that they had said. However, the nervousness she felt disappeared when she realized that Kagome was the reason why she was in this drama in the first place. Her eyebrows furrowed together as she turned and looked at her ex-boyfriend to see what he would say next.

Kagome's heartbeat starts to increase as the thought of him cheating on her with Kikyo crosses her mind. She quickly looks at Kikyo; she has an annoyed look on her face. Kagome quickly surveys her body. Her clothes weren't wrinkled or put on in a hurry. In fact, her white t-shirt is nicely tucked into her black jeans. Kikyo's hair was in a low ponytail, causing her hair to frame her neck and face. There were no signs of hickeys on her neck, from what Kagome could see.

Kagome looks back at Inuyasha and surveys his body. He didn't have any hickeys or scratches on his neck nor did his clothes look wrinkled or out of place. Kagome lets out a small sigh of relief. She knew he wouldn't cheat on her, but she was also aware that drinking a significant amount of alcohol and spending time with an ex, that hadn't gotten over you, could lead to numerous bad decisions.

There's a pregnant pause as Kagome observes their stance again before nodding. She knew they were hiding something from her though.

"Well, I'm glad he was such a big help," Kagome mutters through gritted teeth, causing Kikyo to stare at her with an amusing twinkle in her eyes while the man next to her tensed up. Just because she was helping Kagome's family, doesn't mean she didn't enjoy annoying her. This was the same woman who ruined all her previous dreams and fantasies of being with Inuyasha.

Kagome stares directly at her anxious looking husband with narrowed eyes. "And I'm glad you two made it back safe and sound." With that said, Kagome turns around and walks out of the foyer and towards the elevator in between the two staircases.

"Kagome." Inuyasha sends Kikyo an apologetic look before quickly walking towards the elevator to catch up with his wife before the elevator's doors close. He desperately calls out her name again only to let out a tired sigh as the elevator door's close.

Inuyasha quickly dashes up the stairs and rushes towards their bedroom. He raises a brow as he sees Kagome's retreating back walk inside the room and slam the door close. 'She walks fast for a pregnant woman,' he thinks as he stands in front of his bedroom door.

Inuyasha stands in front of the door, thinking of possible lies to tell his wife to explain his disappearance from last night. He didn't enjoy lying to his wife. Hell, every time he did lie to her, she knew he was lying. 'However,' Inuyasha thinks as a frown marries his face. He needed to lie to her today in order to protect her and their daughters. He would do anything in his power to make sure they were safe.

Inuyasha squares his shoulders as he grasps the dark brown doorknob and opens his old bedroom door. He arches a black eyebrow as he sees her standing on the right side of the bed, her side of the bed, staring at a pair of black yoga pants and pink tank top lying there.

"What are you doing?" He softly asks as he stares at her. He reaches behind them to close the door before walking towards their comforter covered bed. He takes a seat on the bed and places his hand on it. Judging by how the comforter was neatly tucked into the sides of the bed, Inuyasha assumed that his wife didn't get any sleep last night.

His eyes soften at the thought. Kagome needed to sleep and relax. If not for her sake, but for their daughters' sake as well. Inuyasha didn't want Kagome to jeopardize her health worrying about him. He could take care of himself.

"After I take my shower, I'm finally going to get some sleep," she choppily states as she places her hands on her hip.

"Well good." Inuyasha stands up and starts walking around the bed towards her. "I can join you and we-" he pauses as Kagome takes a step back and holds up a hand. "Kagome wha-"

"Can you just leave me alone."

Her statement causes her husband's eyes to widen in surprise. 'What's her problem?'

"Kagome, what's with the attitude?"

"Inuyasha, just drop it," she says in a strained voice as she walks towards the dresser to grab a fresh pair of underwear and a bra.

Not liking the tone Kagome was using to speak to him. Inuyasha walks towards her and places a hand on her shoulder. His eyebrows furrowed together as Kagome's shoulder tense up.

"Hey, look at me," Inuyasha demands, causing his wife to let out a loud angry sigh as she whips herself around to look at Inuyasha. "What's the matter? Tell me."

"I'm going to say this once," Kagome says slowly as if she's disciplining their son. Her cheeks are a rosy red as she tries to control the anger that was stirring up in her body. "I want you to leave me alone because I am this close-" she states as she holds her thumb and index close together to symbol how close. "-to snapping off on you right now."

"What the fuck is your problem, wench?" Inuyasha asks with an appalled expression on his tan face.

"My problem? My problem Yash?" Kagome asks as she starts to laugh. She slams the dresser draw before throwing her undergarments on the top of the dresser. "My fucking problem is that my husband left me in the middle of the night without calling or sending me a text message telling me where he's at. Then he has the fucking nerve, the fucking audacity, to walk through the fucking front door with his ex."

Inuyasha goes to interject but Kagome's narrow eyes stops him. "And after staying up all fucking night worrying and stressing about him, he's downstairs in the fucking foyer hugging his ex like they just did something that they regret. Now, I trust my husband and know he didn't do anything that would result in us getting a divorce."

"Kagome," Inuyasha tries to say but Kagome holds us a hand, stopping him from speaking again. She would not let him change the subject and take her mind off what she just saw downstairs. Kagome was angry and tired, and her husband would hear everything that she had to say.

"But I can't shake off this feeling that he's lying to me, you know?" Kagome continues as she leans back and places a hand on the dresser to balance herself. She was starting to feel the effect of staying up all night and only having tea in her digestive system.

"Kagome you should lay-"

"No," she fiercely snaps as she pushes his hands away from touching and consoling her. "I'm fucking piss and cranky, Inuyasha! I've stayed up all night worrying about you. The least you can do is tell me where you were last night and why you lied to me."

Inuyasha stares at her with wide eyes. He didn't know what to say. His in-laws had sworn him to secrecy about the whole Band of Seven and Onigumo situation. Inuyasha also didn't want to tell Kagome because he knew that she would become paranoid and worried and that mixture of emotions wasn't going to be good for her or the twins..

"Ka-"

"Inuyasha," she pleads. "Just tell me what happened last night. I'll try not to get upset."

"Kagome, I, we," Inuyasha stutters before sighing and scratching his head as he looks down at her begging blue eyes. 'I can't tell her,' he thinks before clearing his throat and squaring his shoulders. "Nothing happened last night. Kikyo and I just went out for drinks last night because her and her boyfriend had a fight. We got back here so late because my car broke down. When someone was finally able to come fix it, it was already nearing six in the morning."

Inuyasha places a gentle hand on her cheek. Kagome flinches back at the contact but allows herself to lean into his hand. "Kagome, I'm so sorry for worrying you. But I was just helping out a friend. Look, the next time I go out late, I'll be sure to call you or send you a message."

Kagome stares into his golden eyes, looking for any sign of truth in them. They had been married for over three years. During their time in America, they spent most of their time together, getting to know each other, learning about their different habits, their likes and dislikes.

With this knowledge in tow, Kagome knew when her husband was being honest and when telling a lie. As she mentioned before, she knew Inuyasha hadn't sought out sexual comfort from another woman. However, the scene that Kagome saw downstairs didn't sit well with her. Him lying about where they were also didn't sit well with her.

Kagome allows a tired smile to form on her face as she places a hand on his face. Inuyasha smirks, thinking that Kagome had brought his story. He had to give himself prompts; he did sound very convincing.

"You're lying, Inuyasha," she disappointedly whispers. Inuyasha's eyes widen as he opens his mouth to respond but Kagome softly shakes her head. "Because you're lying to me, it shows that you don't trust me."

"Kagome that-"

"Until you tell me the truth," Kagome says as she drops her hand off his face. "Just leave me alone, Inuyasha." She pushes him away from her before walking around him and out the bedroom. She slams the door behind her, missing Inuyasha violently kicking the dresser.

"Fuck!" He kicks the dresser again, causing the contents on top to fall over and tumble off the dresser and on top the hardwood floor.

Inuyasha stomps towards the bed and takes a seat. He falls back onto the bed, letting out a long-aggravated sigh. With his arms stretched out, he stares at the ceiling with a scowl on his face.

"I really fucked this up."

"That was a very interesting meeting," Jakotsu says with Naraku walking behind him. He awkward rolls his shoulders, due to his arms being held behind his back because of the metal handcuffs around his slightly red wrists.

After briefly talking with his parents, Naraku had volunteered to take Jakotsu back to his cell. They would continue to talk to him if they needed additional information at Bankotsu and the Band of Seven.

"Indeed," Naraku grumbles as he grabs Jakotsu's bony shoulder and steers his body to the right around a corner. They remain quiet as their shoed feet stomp against the wet concrete floor.

"Do you think the plan is going to work?" Jakotsu quietly asks as they stop in front of a solid grey metal door.

Naraku remains silent as he leans his torso over and presses in five numbers into the keypad next to the door. A loud buzzing noise bounces off the concrete walls as the metal door starts to slide open.

"It has to."

Jakotsu turns his head and looks back at his ex-boyfriend. He could see the wrinkles forming on his forehead and the slight bags underneath his eyes. Onigumo was really putting a strain on him; Jakotsu couldn't imagine how Makoto was holding up. Although he had a stand-off relationship with the man, he never wished anything negative to happen to his family. However, Jakotsu knew his "brothers" would stop at nothing to complete a job; they were all ruthless and Bankotsu was their ring leader.

Jakotsu shutters in fright and disgusts at the thought of what Bankotsu would do in order to get Kagome. "But it won't."

Naraku stops walking, causing Jakotsu to turn around and look at him. Jakotsu rolls his eyes upward, thinking of something comforting to say. He didn't mean to sound hopeless but they had to face the truth. The Band of Seven was known in several countries for their menacing tactics for getting what they want. Merely discovering where they're stationed wasn't going to cut it.

Jakotsu lets out a tired sigh as he looks towards the man with an unreadable look on his face as he stares at him. "Narak-"

"It will. I'll make sure of it," Naraku states with determination in his tone. Jakotsu's stares at the man in front of him with slightly widened eyes. He had his shoulders squared, eyebrows furrowed together, and an authoritative look in his eyes. Naraku was serious. Once he became serious, nothing would stand in his way.

Jakotsu gives him a small nod before turning around and walking a couple of steps ahead of him. "I hope you're right."

"Mama!"

Kagome looks away from the range of various cereals to her son who's holding a big box of sugary cereal in front of her. She giggles before grabbing the cereal box and placing it in the already filled cart. Kagome turns around and grabs a box of Cheerios before turning to look at her son.

After her earlier dispute with her husband, Kagome had volunteered to get groceries for the house after lunch. It would give her the perfect opportunity to calm her mind and get her emotions in check.

'What the hell was he even doing out that late with Kikyo anyway?' She angrily thinks before shaking her head.

"Okay Kazushi. The only thing left that we have to get is some hot chocolate. After that, we can go and get some dinner," Kagome says as she pulls back her wrist and looks at her watch, it was almost five o'clock.

"Yay!" He shouts as he jumps up and down before turning and dashing down the aisle. Kagome shakes her head in amusement before looking down to double check that she got everything on their grocery list.

Kagome sharply looks up and behind her as she hears a metal basket crash onto the floor. Her eyes widen as she sees her son's holding his head while sitting on the ground. Kazushi sniffs a couple of times before releasing a loud cry.

"Mommy!"

Kagome leaves her cart and rushes over to her red face, crying son. She manages to sit on the floor and cradles Kazushi in her arms.

"Are you okay sweetie?" She asks while rocking him back and forth while rubbing his forehead. Kagome worriedly bites her bottom lip as she feels a small bump forming on the top of his head. Kazushi continues to cry as his mother comforts him. "Shhh, it's okay honey. It's okay." She places a kiss on his forehead as she rubs his back.

After a few more head kisses and pats on the back, Kazushi's loud crying turns into soft whimpers and hiccups. He stares at his mother with red rosy cheeks and dark blue eyes filled with tears.

"You're okay, baby," Kagome coos as she wipes the tears off her son's cheeks. Kazushi sniffs before wiping his runny nose on the sleeve of his shirt.

Kagome flinches back in disgust. 'I definitely need to wash that shirt when we get home,' she thinks, while setting Kazushi on his feet and dusting off any dust on his t-shirt and jean overall outfit. Once on his feet, Kagome braces herself on one of the shelves to stand up.

"Here, let me help you with that," a deep baritone voice says before masucaline hands reach down and grab Kagome's arm and slowly helps her stand up.

Kagome gives him an appreciative smile as she dusts off her blue jean pants. "Thank you."

"I should be apologizing, I wasn't looking where I was going and your son accidentally ran into my basket."

Kagome nods as she stares at the attractive looking man in front of her. She had seen him somewhere before but couldn't recall. "Have we met before?" She asks with an arched eyebrow.

"I'm Bank-"

"Oh! You're Bankotsu!" Kagome exclaims before lightly hitting her head. How could she forget the man who had saved her and her unborn daughters' life.

Bankotsu chuckles as he nods before bending down to pick up his food items off the floor. He places them in his basket before looking up at Kagome.

"Yes, and you're Kagome. I'm surprised you remembered me," he jokes while cracking a smile.

"I always remember people who save my life."

Bankotsu gives her a small smile before looking in her cart. "Someone has a sweet tooth, huh?" He asks, referring to the numerous ice cream cartons in her cart.

"Yes. My day hasn't been going the best," Kagome mumbles as she glances at his basket. She checks on her son who's rubbing his eyes. She holds out a hand for him to hold; which he happily takes. "Hey, why don't you go down the aisle and get your favorite piece of candy."

"Candi?" Kazushi sweetly asks as he stares up at her. All traces of tears are gone. His mother giggles and nods before letting go of his hand.

"But be careful. Mommy will be watching."

"Otay!"

A small smile forms on Kagome's face as she watches her son skip down to the section of the aisle that contains various types of candies. Kagome giggles as she watches his eyes widen as he looks at the rows and rows of candy. She turns her head and looks at Bankotsu, who's staring at her. "So how are things going with you and Kikyo?"

"It's a little rocky; we're on and off. I was hoping for something, you know, more serious. But I don't think Kikyo's looking for that right now."

"Really? That's shocking," Kagome responds as she leans against her cart. "From what I've heard, she's looking for something serious and long term as well."

"You don't say," Bankotsu says with a raised brow. "Well, is there any advice you can offer up? I really want things between Kikyo and I to work."

"Mama!"

Kagome smiles as she sees her son running towards her with a bag of candy. He wraps his arms around her leg before showing her the candy in his hand. "You want this, huh? Okay. Let momma put it in the cart," she says as she grabs the bag and places it in the cart.

"Hungry, mama," Kazushi says while rubbing her stomach through his overalls.

"We're going to get something to eat in a few, just wait, okay?"

Kazushi nods before sticking his thumb into his mouth. Kagome lets out a sigh before turning to Bankotsu and giving him an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that. But I have to go and get this little guy and girls feed," she says while patting his expanding stomach.

"No worries," Bankotsu tells her with a smile. "It was great seeing you, Kagome. Maybe we can get dinner one day and discuss more about my failed relationship," he jokingly says, causing Kagome to shake her head in disagreement.

"I'm sure everything will work out between you two." She gives him a coy smile. "And dinner sounds good. Just send me a text of when and where."

"I'll be sure to text you soon. Hey, maybe when things get serious with Kikyo and I, we can go on a double date," Bankotsu states as he saves Kagome's contact information into his phone.

"That sounds like a great plan," she says while placing her phone in her purse.

"Mama!"

"Okay baby," Kagome whines back causing her son to giggle at her actions. Kagome holds out her hand, wanting Kazushi to grab it. He does and excitedly smiles up at her. "I have to go, Bankotsu. But it was nice seeing you."

"It was nice seeing you as well, Kagome," Bankotsu responds, giving her a wide smile, revealing his perfectly straight teeth. Kagome nods as she starts waddling away from Bankotsu while pushing the food filled cart and holding her son's hand.

Bankotsu continues to stare at Kagome and her son's retreating backs as they walk down the aisle. "That was too easy," he murmurs to himself with a sinister grin on his face as he stares down at Kagome's phone number on his phone screen.

Bankotsu loved getting personal with his targets before crushing them. Yes, he could have easily gotten Kagome's number from any of his men. However, having Kagome personally give him her number and creating a personal bond with him only made him more excited for when they kidnap her.

He shivered in delight, picturing Kagome's dark blue, teary eyes widened in shock and disbelief, staring up at him, when she realizes that he's the one taking her to her killer. Her face would turn a deathly pale white when she fully registered that her foolish, accepting and generous heart led to her son becoming motherless and her husband to become a widower.

'I can't wait,' Bankotsu thinks before turning around and walking in the opposite direction of Kagome and her son. "In due time, Kagome. I can't wait to see your face when everything comes crashing and burning down in front of you."

"I'm home," Inuyasha tiredly announces as he closes the door to his apartment. He lets out a sigh as he hangs his messenger bag and coat on the coat hook. His ears twitch as he hears footsteps. He turns around to be greeted by his girlfriend of one year. Her hair is in a ponytail and she's wearing a yellow, dirty apron around her small waist.

"Hi."

"Hey."

"How was your exam?" She asks as he walks towards her.

"Difficult."

"Do you think you passed?"

"You're talking to Inuyasha Takahashi, baby! Of course, I did," Inuyasha states as he wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her to his chest. Kagome giggles in response before wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Sorry I doubted you, o' great one," Kagome sarcastically says with a roll of the eyes.

"All is forgiven if you give me a kiss," Inuyasha replies as he pouts his lips.

"Whatever it takes to be forgiven," she replies as she leans forward to give him a kiss.

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

"What the hell?" Inuyasha grumbles, waking up from the nap he was taking on the living room's couch. Inuyasha turns his head and looks at his ringing phone on the brown, wood coffee table.

"Kagome?" Inuyasha asks as he answers the phone.

"It's your wonderful father-in-law."

"More like the pain in my ass."

"The hostility, my boy," Makoto laughs.

"What do you want?" Inuyasha asks as he leans back on the couch.

"I'm sending you a location. I want you to meet me there in half an hour."

"What? Makoto! You can-"

Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Son of a bitch!" Inuyasha angrily snaps as he throws his phone back onto the coffee table. He places his arm over his eyes and lets out a frustrated sigh. After their argument earlier, Kagome had been avoiding him. At lunch, she barely looked or even addressed him.

Inuyasha lets out another sigh of annoyance as he closes his eyes, allowing his mind to shift back to old memories. "Why can't we go back to the good o' days?" He asks himself.

"Wow!" Inuyasha groans as sweat rolls down his chest. Kagome lets out a breathy giggle as she grabs the sheets and raises them to cover her sweating chest. She gives him a kiss on the cheek before rolling onto her back. There's silence in the couple's bedroom as they try to catch their breath.

"I love you."

"Huh?" Kagome asks as she turns to look at her boyfriend. She grabs the sheets as she raises herself onto her elbows. Inuyasha pauses as he realizes what he just said. They hadn't said the L word to each other at all in their relationship. He turns towards Kagome to see her looking at him with wide eyes and wild hair. She nervously bites her bottom lip as she looks at him.

"You, huh, you love me?"

Inuyasha gives her a scared nod as he stares back at her with wide, shocked eyes. 'What the hell is wrong with you man! Why you-'

Small tears form in Kagome's eyes as she stares at her boyfriend. She leans forward and gives him a brief kiss on the lips before leaning back. Inuyasha reaches forward and cups her cheek as a tear falls down her cheek.

"I love you too."

"Good."

Kagome giggles as she leans down to give him another kiss.

Inuyasha snaps out of his thoughts, with a frown marrying his face, as his phone releases a bell ringing noise, signaling that he had gotten a text message notification. After grabbing his phone, Inuyasha looks through his messages. His black brow arches upwards as he reads the message from his father-in-law.

"Why the hell does Makoto want me to meet him at a gun range?!"

"Yummy, huh?" Kagome asks as she wipes her son's face off with his bib. Kazushi grins up at her with tomato sauce marrying his chubby round cheeks. Kagome giggles as she continues to clean him up.

Once satisfied with her son's cleanliness, she went back to eating her own spaghetti with meatballs. After finishing her last bite of pasta, she leans back in her seat and lets out a content sigh. "That was good."

Kazushi stares at her as he continues to chew the food in his mouth. Kagome smiles as she watches his chubby cheeks move up and down.

She jumps a little when she hears her phone buzzing in her purse again. After grabbing her phone, she silences it. It was Inuyasha calling her.

"Your daddy is probably wondering where we are," Kagome mutters. "He'll find out when we get home. But first, we must get dessert." She reaches over and grabs the menu off the table. She opens it and looks through the items under the dessert section. "What do you want Kazushi? They have cake, ice cream-"

"Get the tiramisu. It's to die for."

Kagome raises a brow from behind the menu, before slowly pulling it down. Red, amused eyes clash with curious blue orbs.

"I would definitely kill for it," the man in front of her cocky states as he leans against the wooden chair next to Kazushi's high chair.

"You would," Kagome states with a wide grin. She places the menu down before placing it on the table. She rests her elbows on top of the menu and places her fingers underneath her chin. "Long time no see."

"I'm not supposed to be seen," the man mysteriously states while taking the seat next to Kazushi. Kazushi curiously turns his head to look at the man next to him before looking down and shoving another handful of spaghetti into his mouth. Kagome giggles at her son's action before turning her gaze back to the man in front of her.

"I'm glad you could come, Hiten."

"I aim to please, Kagome."

"Fuck," Inuyasha angrily curses as Kagome's phone goes to voicemail.

"Kagome still hasn't responded?" Naraku absently asks as he continues to shoot the white paper, his target, with a Colt 1911. While he does this, Inuyasha and Makoto stand a significant distance behind him.

"No and it's both of your faults," Inuyasha snaps as he glares at Makoto and Naraku. Makoto rolls his eyes as he pulls out his phone. He dials a set of numbers before placing the phone next to his ear.

"Hello, yes, Jun, do you have eyes on my daughter?"

Inuyasha stares at his father-in-law with intensity and concern in his eyes.

"With Hiten, huh? Haven't heard that name in the long time. Do send flowers to his mother from the Higurashi family, yes."

"Who the hell is Hiten?" Inuyasha angry growls.

"Our cousin, father's adoptive nephew. He works in the same unit as me; he's a snipper on one of our teams," Naraku explains before he sets his pistol down on the counter in front of him. He presses a black circular button off to the side, causing his target to fly towards him.

"Okay. Keep me in the loop. Okay, bye," Makoto hangs up before placing the phone back into his back pocket. "She has my grandson. They're at some Italian restaurant eating with Hiten."

Inuyasha sighs in relief before running his fingers through his hair. He turns his head as Naraku grabs the white target paper and growls.

"I'm getting rusty," he mutters before laying the paper down and walking back to the counter to get another gun. Inuyasha raises a brow and walks towards Naraku's previous location. He rolls his eyes as he looks at Naraku's target paper. All his bullets had hit the targets head or chest area besides one

"Typical," Inuyasha mutters before his father-in-law calls his name. "Yeah?" he responds as he turns to look at him.

Makoto grabs a Mossberg 500 off the counter and throws it at Inuyasha who nearly drops it on the ground. "Let's see what you can do, newbie."

"Hello?"

"Kikyo," Bankotsu states as he closes the door to his car.

"What?"

"I need you to come to my apartment tomorrow morning at nine."

"I'm not sleeping with you. I'm with Suikotsu no-"

"Don't think too highly of yourself," Bankotsu says as he walks into the forest. He ducks his way through tree branches before stopping in front of a pond. He pulls his phone away from his ear to look at his connection. 'Good. I still have a solid connection even though I'm quite far into the forest. However, it'll all be lost once I reach the cabin.'

"I need you back at my place because I need your help with something."

"With that?"

"It's a surprise," Bankotsu says with a menacing grin on his face. He had a plan and as long as no one ruined it, he was going to be a very happy man.

"I-" Kikyo starts to say but he hangs up before she could say anything else. Bankotsu pockets his phone and takes a deep breath as he looks around at his surroundings. He looks up and sees a group of birds flying in the sky. Bankotsu lowers his head and looks across the pond, spotting a cabin hiding behind two large trees.

"Found you" he mutters as he starts to make his way around the pond and towards the cabin.

"I know I wasn't being rational but who can blame me?" Kagome asks as she scoops up another spoonful of tiramisu into her cream covered spoon. Hiten carelessly shrugs as he takes a sip of his red wine.

"Did he say anything else, about where he was?" He asks as he sets the glass down and grabs his fork. "There could have been some truth to his statement."

"No. He just kept saying that him and Kikyo went out for drinks and that the reason they got back late was because his car broke down," Kagome says with a sigh. She places the coffee flavored dessert in her mouth and lightly moans. It tasted really good. After swallowing the food in her mouth, she begins to speak again.

"But in my defense, I had every reason to go off on his lying as-butt," Kagome cautiously states as she looks at her son who's happily shoving vanilla cake into his mouth. "For one, I'm pregnant with twins, two, I didn't get enough sleep, and three, he was with his ex. The same ex who I KNOW is still in love with him."

Hiten nods in agreement as he starts to twirl pasta around his fork. He hoped they cooked the pasta right.

"But then again, I was a little hard on him," Kagome says as she nervously bites her bottom lip. "I mean I know he was lying, I just know it. We have this connection, you know?".

Hiten continues to remain silent, allowing Kagome to talk. Oftentimes, when Kagome was having problems she would call and talk to him. All Kagome wanted was someone to listen to her then after she ranted for a good minute or so, tell her what she did right or wrong.

"But he had to have a reason for lying to me. Inuyasha doesn't like lying to me because he knows that I know when he is lying," Kagome states as she sets her spoon down causing it to clack against the plate. "But if he had a reason, what is that reason?"

"Maybe you should ask him," Hiten supplies before shoving a fork filled with pasta into his mouth. It was manageable; not up to his high standards though.

"Yeah," Kagome absently says before leaning her elbows on the table and placing a hand on her head. "So ultimate, this is my entire fault?"

"Not entirely, but you yelling at Inuyasha didn't help the situation."

"You're right." Kagome sighs as she leans back in her seat. "I hate that you're right. Why did I even call?"

"Because out of everyone in our family, I read between the lines. You were aware that you weren't completely right about the situation. However, the blame isn't entirely your fault," Hiten states before taking another bite out of his food. "It sounds like you need to have a serious talk with Inuyasha about this. Be honest about your feelings and what you think happened last night. I hardly doubt that he'll be a dick about it if you're honest with him."

Kagome lets out another sigh as she runs her fingers through her hair. "The things love does to you."

"Can't relate."

"That's because you're only interested in sex."

Hiten shrugs in response as he continues to eat his food. "What's good for the body, is good for the soul."

"You're disgusting," Kagome teasingly says before grabbing her spoon to continue eating her dessert. She frowns as she stares at her half eaten tiramisu. She had a lot of apologize to do when she got home.

"Well if it isn't Mrs. Higurashi."

Korari's brown eyes look up from the document she's reading, only to meet her husband's dark blue orbs. She cracks a smile as she sets the paper down and folds her hands together.

"Hello dear. How was your meeting with Inuyasha?"

"Very interesting. At least the boy can shoot," Makoto jokingly says as he leans off the wooden doorframe. After closing the door behind him, he walks towards her. Makoto takes a seat on the corner of her desk and leans forward to look at his small wife.

Korari leans back in her seat and stares up at her husband. Her smile drops as she sees the worried look in his blue eyes. She lets out a defeated sigh as she raises one hand and rubs her forehead. 'Today was a tiring day.'

"How are you holding up?" Makoto softly asks as he reaches forward and grasps her cold hand inside of his warm ones. A light smile forms on Korari's face as he rubs his thumb over her knuckles. He made her feel safe.

"I'm here," Korari half-heartedly says, giving him a forced grin in response. Makoto frowns as he sees the strained look on his wife's face. He knew that Kaguya's death and Onigumo reappearance was having a negative effect on her and her health.

"Have you eaten yet?" He asks.

"No."

"Good, let's get something to eat. I know this amaz-"

"Makoto," Korari's soft voice interrupts causing Makoto to stop talking and wince as he looks down at her.

"Yes dear?"

"Do you think this new plan will work?" Korari asks as she stands up, with their hands still connected. Makoto stares at his wife before sighing in defeat and looking off to the side. He didn't know what to say. He couldn't and wouldn't lie to her.

"There's a chance that it will work," Makoto grumbles as he drops their connected hands to run his fingers through his silk hair.

"Without any casualties?" Korari asks as she places her warm, delicate hands onto her husband's broad shoulders.

There's a pregnant pause as Makoto continues to look off into the distance. "Makoto," Korari forcefully whispers as she bends down a little to grasp his face and turn it so his eyes can look at her. Korari automatically drops her hands, in shock, as she sees the despair and hopelessness in his blue eyes.

"To be honest?" Makoto asks before wetting his bottom dry lip. "No."

Korari nods at his statement while she averted her sad eyes downward again. Makoto lets out a long tired sigh before slipping two fingers underneath his wife's chin and lifts her head up. He gives her a small, encouraging smile before leaning his head against hers. "Just know," Makoto whispers as he stares into Korari's eyes.

"I'm willing to lay down my life for my family."

"Makot-" Korari gasps as she sharply pulls away from her husband. She didn't want her husband to die. He was the love of her life, the father to her children, her best friend. She didn't know if she could live life without him if he wasn't by her side. Tears cloud Korari's vision as her mind starts creating images of Makoto not in her life.

Makoto gives her a strained grin before cupping her rosy cheek in his hand. "I will. I would do anything to protect my family."

"Oh Makoto!" Korari exclaims, in despair, as she jumps forward and wraps her arms around her husband's neck. Makoto lets out a humorless chuckle as he wraps his arms around his wife, pulling her closer to his body.

He knew it would come down to this, him risking his life to save someone that he cared about. However, Makoto was willing to risk it all if it meant that his family would be safe and protected. "I'll do anything to protect my family."

"I need to call Ron and tell him about the changes in my schedule," Kagome whispers to herself from her spot at the cream marble island in the kitchen. She leans forward and grabs the glass of orange juice standing next to her.

With a satisfied moan, Kagome sets the half empty glass of orange juice down on the island counter before looking back at her laptop. She looks up as she hears footsteps walking towards the kitchen. A second later, Inuyasha walks through the closed doors.

Kagome's eyes widen slightly before they soften as she stares at him. "Hi."

Inuyasha pauses in mid-stride; he hadn't seen her all day. "Hey." He quickly surveys his wife to make sure she's not hurt. She looked better than she had earlier that morning; there were no longer any stress lines running across her forehead. "How are you? What did you do today?"

Kagome absently shrugs as she looks down at her laptop before looking back at her husband. "I'm fine. Kazushi and I went shopping then we had dinner with my cousin."

Inuyasha nods his head in response as he starts his journey to the refrigerator to grab a water bottle. After getting the desired product, he closes the refrigerator's door and starts to open the water bottle.

Kagome closes the lid to her laptop; they needed to have a serious talk about what occurred earlier that day. "Inuyasha."

"Hmm?" Inuyasha answers after swallowing the cold water in his mouth. Kagome nervously twists her fingers as she stares at her husband leaning against the refrigerator door. She lets out a small sigh before speaking. "I want to apologize for what happened earlier."

"Huh?" Inuyasha asks with a blank expression on his face. Kagome rarely apologizes to him, unless she blamed herself for the argument or situation. His eyes soften at the thought. She shouldn't blame herself for their fight. Although he couldn't tell Kagome the truth, he didn't want her to take on the burden or stress of their fight.

Kagome rolls her eyes as she continues to look at her husband. "This morning, I jumped to a lot of conclusions and I was tired, angry, and concerned. I should," she starts to say before letting out a strangled sigh. "I shouldn't have treated you like that. I'm sorry."

There's silence as the two stare at each other. Kagome raises her brow in annoyance as she stares at her husband. "Are you going to say anything?"

"Oh, sorry," Inuyasha says, shaking his head to break himself out of his thoughts. "I never thought I would hear you say those words."

Kagome rolls her eyes again, causing Inuyasha to chuckle at her reactions. He sets the water bottle down on the kitchen counter before walking towards his wife. Inuyasha stands in front of Kagome. In response, Kagome huffs, turns her head in the opposite direction while crossing her arms.

"Hey, hey, hey," Inuyasha coos as he places two fingers underneath Kagome's chin and raises her face to look at him. "I'm sorry. I'm to blame as well."

Kagome arches a brow as she stares at him. She didn't think he would take blame for his side of their argument.

"You're right, I wasn't being honest with you this morning," Inuyasha admits. "But, I," he takes a deep breath as he stares at her confused eyes. "I can't tell you where I was this morning. I'm sorry," he whispers with sincerity in his eyes.

There's a moment of silence as Kagome and Inuyasha stare at each. Kagome nervously wets her bottom lip as she glances downward before looking back up at her husband. "Why?"

"I just can't Kagome. I wasn't anywhere that would jeopardize us and our marriage, but I just, I don't want to risk telling you anything that could harm you or the girls in the upcoming future."

"Harm us? What can-" Kagome starts to say but pauses as her eyes widen in revelation. "Are you involved with my pare-"

"Shhh," Inuyasha whispers as he places a rough finger on her soft lips. Kagome stares up at him in confusion and concern. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she knew something wasn't right. Her family was in danger and she needed to know how to protect them. "Kagome, just let it go. Please! Everything's going to be okay. Everything will be handled soon. I promise you," Inuyasha pleads with her.

Kagome's eyes search his golden orbs for any sign of a lie or fear, but she doesn't detect any in them. She sighs as she leans forward and wraps her slender arms around her waist. Kagome lays her head on his warm chest as she closes her eyes. She couldn't do anything with the current state she's in. She would just have to trust her husband to take care of everything, for now.

"Okay, Inuyasha. I'll let it go," Kagome whispers. She would have to talk to her parents, later, to see what was going on.

"Thank you," Inuyasha mumbles as he rubs her back and kisses the top of her head.

After a few minutes of silence, he gives Kagome's body a squeeze before pulling away. Kagome leans back and stares up at her husband.

"Now that we got that out of the way," Kagome nervously jokes, causing Inuyasha to stare down at her with an arched brow. "I reserved us a table at Tama's Garden and a room at the Hilton," she shyly says as she runs her fingers up and down his chest.

A lazy smirk forms on Inuyasha's face at her statement. He knew what that meant.

"Izzy and Inu No Taisho offered to watch Kazushi tonight while we had some mommy and daddy time,"

"And what does mommy and daddy time consist of?" Inuyasha huskily asks.

"Well, eating a lovely dinner underneath the stars," Kagome drawls out, referring to the outdoor dining experience that Tama's Garden provides. "Then you, me, a bed, and lots of hot, dirty, sex," Kagome softly says with a seducive grin. A predator grin forms on Inuyasha's face, revealing a long, deadly fang. "Now, Mr. Takahashi, am I forgiven?"

"Yes ma'am," Inuyasha heatedly mumbles as he bends down to give her a kiss. However, Inuyasha pauses, their lips an inch apart, when he feels a light bump against his stomach. He looks down to see a small footprint in the middle of Kagome's stomach. Inuyasha's golden eyes widened in surprise. "Did they just-"

"Well one of them," Kagome giggles as she places a hand on the top of her stomach. "They've been doing it all day."

Inuyasha absently nods as he rubs Kagome's stomach.

"They've been missing their daddy," she coyly says as she looks at her husband from underneath her eyelashes. Inuyasha looks at Kagome with a happy expression on his face. Regardless of the difficulties they were facing, they still had time for each other and their children.

"And daddy misses them too," Inuyasha tells her before leaning forward and sealing their lips into a long passionate kiss.

"Makoto is aware of your reappearance father," Muso states from his seat on his father's leather couch.

"Excellent," Onigumo mutters from his place in front of the lit fireplace. Muso looks towards the door to see his older brother, Byakuya, walking into the dim-lit living room, with a glass of scotch in his hands.

"The message was sent, father," Byakuya announces as he walks towards his father and sets the glass in his bandage hand. He turns around and takes a seat in the leather chair across from the couch his brother is sitting on. He crosses his right leg over his left knee waiting for his father to deliver his next set of instructions.

"Muso," Onigumo's baritone voice speaks.

"Right. The tracking device that we placed on Suikotsu did confirm Bankotsu's suspicion about Suikotsu being the traitor," Muso says before his face scrunches up in disgust. "He's working with Higurashi," he spits out.

"As expected," Onigumo fumigly mutters before taking a sip of his drink. 'The Higurashi family will pay for what they did to me and my family,' he angrily thinks with furrowed brows. After the government's assassination attempt on his life, which he knew was suggested to the president by the Higurashi's, he had become paralyzed from the waist down and sustained third degree burns all over his skin. If his sons hadn't saved him, he wouldn't be alive today.

"What do you want us to do after tonight, father?" Byakuya asks while tilting his head.

"Let's wait," Onigumo firmly says. "I want to see what Makoto will do next," he responds as his hand tightens their grip around the glass in his hands. "I want Makoto to hurt like he made me hurt. I want him to feel that he won and at the very moment when he believes that he's the hero, the champion, I want his world to crash before his eyes. I want him to suffer and wish that death consumed him instead of his children," Onigumi fiercely spats out. "I want that bastard and his wife to feel the same panic, fear, anguish that I've felt all these years," he growls.

"As you wish, father," Muso states with a gleeful grin. Byakuya remains silent after his father's speech.

"And when that day comes, your sister will finally be at rest. And I will finally have my revenge over the Higurashi family!"

"Hear father! Hear father!" Muso shouts in excitement. Byakuya continues to stare at the two men in front of his with a distant look in his eyes.

"You got to send me more ultrasound pictures, Sango," Kikyo says as she walks up the stairs to Suikotsu's apartment. "Okay, I'll let you go. But when you come back to Tokyo, I'm going to take you on the biggest shopping spree you've ever seen. Okay. Love you too. Bye."

Kikyo ends the call before throwing her phone into her red leather purse. Once she's standing in front of Suikotsu's apartment door, she takes Suikotsu's apartment keys out of her back pocket and goes to unlock his door only to have it open in front of her face, revealing Suikotsu and Kagura, who's holding a sleeping baby in her arms.

"Oh, I didn't know that we were having guests over," Kikyo dryly states as Suikotsu and Kagura take a step back, allowing Kikyo to walk into the apartment. She gives Suikotsu a kiss on the cheek before setting her belongings on the side table next to the door.

"I was just leaving," Kagura bitterly states, while staring at Kikyo with narrow eyes. Her eyes soften as she turns to face Suikotsu. "Thanks for the talk. It was much needed."

"Any time," Suikotsu states as he awkwardly shifts from side to side. You could cut the tension in the room between these two. Kagura smiles and nods before turning to face the other woman in the entryway.

"Kikyo."

"Kagura."

Kagura nods before walking out the apartment with her sleeping son. Suikotsu closes and locks the door behind her. He lets out a low whistle as he turns to face Kikyo.

"What?" She annoyedly questions as she takes her shoes off and sets them on the shoe mat next to the side table.

"The tension between you two. Wow! It could be cut with a knife."

"Well she shouldn't have made me look like a slut in front of everyone."

"She didn-" Suikotsu starts to defend but the look Kikyo gives him stops him from continuing. He sighs and shrugs before walking away from her and towards his bedroom. Bankotsu had given him an assignment that needed to be completed before the night ended. He needed to get ready for that assignment before Kikyo distracted him.

After taking off her shoes, Kikyo quietly follows after him.

"So," she says as she leans against the doorframe of his bedroom. Suikotsu walks towards his closet and pulls out a briefcase and box.

"So?"

"Was that the baby from the woman that Bankotsu killed?" Kikyo curiously asks with a tilt of the head. She hoped it was.

"Yes," Suikotsu answers. "Kagura, she always wanted kids, but her involvement with Bankotsu hindered that."

Kikyo nods her head in response and understatement. She wanted kids as well, but their current situation was stopping her from wanting to conceive at the moment. "What were you two talking about before I got here?"

"Business."

"So, I can't know about this business?" Kikyo annoyedly questions with a raised brow.

"No."

"Suikotsu, I'm just as deep as you are," she defends.

"I hardly doubt that. You've just scratched the surface," Suikotsu absently says while placing the items he got from the bottom of his empty closet onto his bed. Kikyo rolls her eyes before walking forward and taking a seat next to he suitcase.

"What are you doing tonight?"

"Another assignment."

Kikyo's eyes soften at his response. She hated when he had to go out for an assignment. She didn't like the idea of him killing someone to benefit another person. Kikyo also worries that he may get in trouble, resulting in his death. She didn't want him to die; she cared about him a lot.

However, to not showcase Suikotsu how scared she was, Kikyo just nodded her head in acknowledgement. "Suikotsu."

"Hmmm?" He answers as he takes out a pistol; he grabs a cloth and starts off the handle and Slide Stop.

"Do you ever wish you can leave this life?" Kikyo quietly asks as she turns her head to look at her boyfriend. She patiently waits for his reaction.

Suikotsu pauses mid-swipe to see his girlfriend looking at him with a serious, yet curious expression on her face.

"Do you ever wish that you could just, I don't know, start over?" She further explains with a casual shrug.

"Sometimes," Suikotsu admits before looking down at the pistol in his hands.

"When I was a little girl, I pictured myself living in a big house with a huge backyard. I would sit on the patio, in a rocking chair, holding my infant daughter while watching my two oldest children running away from our dog chasing them," Kikyo says with a huge grin on her face as the scene of what she just describes floods her mind. "That was the life I wanted. Now-"

"You're involved with a terrorist and a mission that involves risking your life for a woman that you hate because she took your dreams and hopes for the future away by marrying a man you still have feelings for."

Kikyo blinks out of her daydream at Suikotsu's elaborate statement. She opens her mouth to deny it but stops herself. What was the point of lying? "Yeah," she shamefully whispers.

Suikotsu sighs as he hears the despair in her voice, causing him to move the items off the bed so he can take a seat next to her. "Hey," he mumbles as he wraps an arm around her shoulder.

Kikyo turns her head to look at her boyfriend. She tries to smile, but he can see the misery, anger, and fear in her brown eyes. "I can't promise you that life. Being involved with me, you'll never get that life, that fantasy. But I can promise you that once this is all over, I'll find a way for your dreams to come true. Even if it doesn't involve you and I-"

"Suikotsu I do-"

"I know it's too early for me to tell this but I think," Suikotsu starts to say but pauses. He was about to admit something that he never told anyone before. He was scared of how she would react. Suikotsu knew that she still harbored feelings for her ex. But he was fearful that if he didn't tell her now, he never would. Suikotsu nervously licks his chap lips before continuing. "I think I'm in love with you."

Kikyo's eyes widened at his confession. It had been a long time since she heard the L word. She didn't know if she could reciprocate those feelings right now though. She knew that she cared for and liked him a lot, but to say love, she wasn't sure. There was something holding her back from feeling and saying the L word back to Suikotsu.

Kikyo opens her mouth to respond, but a rough finger on her lips stops her. Suikotsu gives her a strained smile. He could see the truth, about how she felt for him, in her eyes.

"You don't have to say it back. But just know everything I do, I do it because I love you. And as they say, sometimes, when you love something, you have to let it go."

"Suik-"

"So, when this is all over and Kagome's safe, I'm going to make sure you get everything that you want."

"And what if what I want is you?" Kikyo seriously asks as she leans forward and cups his smooth face.

Suikotsu's eyes widen slightly at her statement and of the feel of her soft hands on his cheek. He didn't know what to say. 'However,' Suikotsu thinks with a slight frown. He knew he wasn't good for Kikyo. The life she had previously described, he wouldn't be able to live it with her. Especially with the mission to take down the Band of Seven and Onigumo. Suikotsu knew that this mission would either result in his death or behind bars for the rest of his life.

"Well, we all can't get what we want, sometimes," Suikotsu softly reminds her.

"I know," Kikyo sadly admits while moving her intense gaze downward. She didn't want to lose Suikotsu. He made her happy and gave her hope for her helpless future.

Suikotsu lets out a defeated sigh. She wouldn't listen to him if he told her the outcomes of this mission. 'But,' he ponders. 'I'll make her happy for the time I have left with her.'

"Hey," Suikotsu softly calls out, causing his girlfriend to snap her eyes upward.

"Hmm?" Kikyo curiously responds as she looks up.

"Let's forget about this conversation and focus on us right now," he says while leaning his forehead against hers. A brief smile forms on Kikyo's face at the statement. Suikotsu was right. They needed to focus on them right now, not worry about the future.

"That's fine with me," Kikyo tells him before leaning forward and sealing their lips into a long, passionate kiss.

"Izanami."

"Iwa."

"Iku."

"Izya."

"Uhhh," Inuyasha mutters as he looks up at the ceiling, trying to think of another girl name that started with an I.

"I win," Kagome sleepily cheers as she snuggles into her husband's bare, sweaty chest. After making passionate love to one another, in their hotel room, the two adults wrapped their arms around each other and started discussing names for their twin daughters.

"Why does it have to start with an I again?" He complains as he looks at Kagome's tousled hair. He gives it a kiss before looking up at the ceiling.

"Because I want all our sons' names to start with K and our daughters' names to start with I."

"Keh. Lame."

Kagome blows some hair out of her face as she stares up at her husband. Inuyasha looks down at her in curiosity. "Beautiful," he mumbles as he moves another piece of hair out of her face and tucks in behind her ear. A small smile forms on his wife's face at the feel of his rough fingers brushing against her forehead.

"Ikumi."

"Beauty?" Inuyasha asks, referring to the meaning. Kagome shyly nods in response.

"She will be beautiful. A perfect combination of both of us."

"Are you calling me beautiful, woman?" Inuyasha barks as he bends his neck to nip at her nose. Kagome giggles as his antics. She curls her naked body around his to gain more of his body heat.

"Oh, I would never call my big bad husband beautiful," she coos as she starts to draw circles onto his chest. "I call him sexy."

"Damn straight."

Kagome giggles at his comment before laying her head directly above his heart. She smiles as she listens to his loud heart beat bounce throughout her ear. "Your turn."

"Hmmm, my turn," Inuyasha mutters as he starts to think about baby names again. "Well since they're identical twins, their names should be similar right?"

"Hmm," Kagome mutters as her eyes start to close due to lack of sleep from earlier.

"Well, how about Izumi."

"Hmmm. That's pretty."

"Are you even listening to me? Or are you asleep?" Inuyasha asks as he looks down at her to see her closed eyes.

"I hear you. I think that's a beautiful name," Kagome mumbles into his chest. "Ikumi and Izumi Takahashi sounds perfect."

Inuyasha chuckles as he bends down and wraps the covers and sheets around them. He waits until her breath is evening out before letting out a long sigh of relief. Inuyasha kisses her head before placing his hand on her stomach.

"Ikumi and Izumi, huh? That sounds like perfect names for my little angel," he mumbles with a proud grin. Inuyasha gives Kagome's head another kiss and her stomach a light pat. He receives a kick in response.

"You girls like that name too, huh? I'm glad," Inuyasha says, allowing a wide smile to form on his face.

He looks up at the ceiling, allowing his mind to wonder about all the events that occurred over the span of a day. Inuyasha lets out another depressing sigh before staring down at his wife. He couldn't imagine how he would feel if someone took Kagome away from him or their kids. Inuyasha shakes his head at the negative thought before pressing a long kiss to Kagome's slightly damp forehead. A smile forms on Kagome's face, but she remains asleep.

Inuyasha carefully and slowly moves the blankets and sheets down Kagome's body so they lay around her waist. He slithers down her body so he can place a kiss on her pale, bloated stomach.

"Listen girls and listen closely. Nothing bad is going to happen to you, your brother, or your mommy, I promise. Daddy's going to protect you, always." Inuyasha kisses Kagome's stomach to confirm the promise. His ears twitch as he feels Kagome's fingers run through his tousled silver hair.

"I know you will," Kagome whispers as she looks at him with a tired grin on her face. Inuyasha smiles as he crawls back up her body. He places a chaste, but loving kiss on her lips.

"I love you wench," Inuyasha whispers as he stares into Kagome's eyes. Kagome smiles as she sees the honesty and love in his golden orbs.

"I love you too, Inuyasha."

"Why would father want to meet me here?" Naraku mutters to himself as he walks off the concrete park trail and towards the wooden bench that faced the playground. He cautiously looks around before taking a seat on the bench. The park he was currently at was only a few blocks away from the house he used to live at when he was a child, before his mother was pregnant with Kagome.

Naraku sighs as the cold wind blows through his hair, hitting his warm face. A small blissful smile forms on his face as he stares at the playground. He remembered those peaceful times of his mother sitting on this very bench, watching him play on the metal swings and small plastic slide.

However, Naraku's eyebrows slowly start to furrow together as he envisions his five year old self running around the playground with a slightly taller, yet younger boy running after him. He leans forward, trying to get a clearer vision of the memory.

Naraku's five year old self climbs up the stairs to the slide and stands at the top of it, looking down at the purple-eyed four year old standing below him. "Come on Byakuya! You can get up here too. Come slide down with me!"

Naraku automatically stands to his feet, in shock, as he stares at the empty playground with wide eyes. "No it can't be. That was years ago. We were just kids!"

"Reminiscing about the past, old friend?"

Naraku automatically turns around only to crouch forward, holding a hand to his chest in pain. He shakily pulls his dripping, wet hand away, only to see it covered with his blood. Naraku's narrowed eyes slowly look upward to stare at the man who just shot him. It was Byakuya Yanaka standing in front of him.

Naraku loudly groans in pain as he falls to his knees. Pain and adrenaline courses through his body as blood begins to fastly pour out through the bullet whole in his chest. A line of blood flows out of Naraku's mouth and onto the green grass below him. The blood filling his throat hindered him from saying actual words.

Byakuya grins down at Naraku as he moves the silenced pistol upward to his forehead. "Good night, Naraku," he whispers with a satisfied glint in his eyes as he pulls the trigger. With emotionless purple eyes, Byakuya watches as Naraku's body falls backwards. He walks around the wooden bench, gun at his side, and stands over Naraku's limp body.

"Just like my sister," Byakuya angrily spats out before pulling his watch wrist up to his lips. "It's done father," he speaks into his watch.

"I see, son. Fantastic work."

Byakuya nods as he bends over Naraku's limp, barely breathing body. A strained smile forms on his face as he stares at his childhood best friend.

"Now," Onigumo's voice says from over the watch. "One down, two more to go."
