Twigs for a Twinnie

Hikari sometimes wonders how she wound up with the reigns.

Maybe it's because she's the only permenant big sister. Maybe it's because she's the only big sister, period. But maybe Yamato might've been a better brother if he and Takeru hadn't been separated, or maybe that didn't come into it at all.

Maybe it's because Taichi was at home with a cold when they went to that fateful summer camp and he missed out on the draw. Or maybe she'd been selected by some criteria she didn't really know.

She does it, because she has to do it, but every step of the way she thinks what one of the others would have decided instead. Sometimes she begrudges them that, as well, because they can voice their opinions without the weight of responsibility on their shoulders.

But someone has to carry that responsibility, even if it threatens to crush her petite form right under it.

Her arms aren't twigs from carrying Taichi and later Miko and Tailmon later still, at least.
