Chapter 143 and 144 didn't happen. Matter of fact, anything after cochlea's arc never happened. Ishida suddenly dropped his IQ by 50 fucking point, he made a mess out of Furuta, originally an intriguing character, into a fucking one-stop shop answer in Ishida's quest to rush the plot. Fucking retarded FUCK FUCK FUCK.

I mean: Oh shit, he knows Tsukiyama. They got my attention. Oh shit, so he is Souta? Wow. I'm part of V. I mean Washuu. Ok. I'm half-human. Ok. Turned OEG, Ok. Oh, suddenly I made a coup against entire Washuu clan, with V's blessing. Hmm... Oh shit, I become top honco of CCG, what? I use party glasses and whatnot, Wow TG becomes a meme. ALL MY PLANS AND TRAPS, NO MATTER HOW CONVULTED AND WEAK, BECAUSE THEM PEOPLE UNDER ME AND MY ENEMIES SOMEHOW BECOME STUPID ENOUGH TO FALL FOR IT.

I DIEDDDDDDDDDDD, I WON, BECAUSE FUCK YOU THAT'S WHY. SOMEHOW I PREDICTED KANEKI BECOMING A BLOB MONSTER. HOW DID I DO THAT? DID I SEE INTO THE FUTURE? NO ONE WOULD NOTICE BECAUSE THE READERS ARE RETARDS AND MY HARDCORE FANS WILL DEFEND MY STATUS AS A MASTERMIND THANKS TO MY SO CALLED FEATS.

It's not magnificent, because clearly you are a failure of a character. A string, tied up to everything neatly. That's it. When Ishida wished to end this sequel and move on to the next, he'll pull you up.

In short, to borrow Kaneki's imagery in chapter 144 (which never happened mind you), I like Nimura Furuta, I hate Souta Washuu Furuta, and I despise Kichimura Washuu.

And lets not talk about clown. And their 'founder', who died after her 'revelation', which doesn't even contribute to anything. A waste.

Ugh.

Or talk about how retarded Kaneki with his thou shall do no harm policy, becoming as naive as he was in the early chapters of TG.

And what the hell is that with Koori Ui becoming so spineless?!

Tooru Mutsuki's character development is good though, becoming a villain is definitely not within my calculation.

And the sex ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), you know which one. Delicious.

Anyway, the reason why I didn't update was because how depressed I am with the manga's state lately. That, and I'm currently working hard in order to feed my greed, like all young men my age.

And don't compare my writing to my criticism, my writing is shit and I realized that. My criticism is harsh because I love Ishida's work.

Chapter 11: 'Why' and 'Training'

"Haise, do you know why the humans wage war on Ghouls?"/ "Kaneki, do you know why the humans wage war on ghouls?"

"They are the top predators. They prey on humans. Their very existence threatens the survival of humanity as a whole" / "We are natural-born killers. The ultimate predators. Flesh eating murderers. Our very existence threatened theirs as a species"

"No, that is not the case at all" / "No... Kaneki... Your father was wrong"

"Really? Care to explain?"/ "Uh uh, give me an answer then. No roundabout shits"

"Ghouls can live for up to two months before their hunger kicks in" / "Ghoul can live without eating for a month, some even two"

"Your point?" / "And?"

"From that alone, you can see that Ghouls doesn't have to become humanity's enemy. Ghouls eaten humanity's recently deceased. Corpses. That was the reason why the mythological creature that feasts on corpses are called "Ghoul" in the first place" / "It is possible for Ghouls as society to sustain themselves with corpses, given the comparatively small population of Ghouls. Ghouls can live among humans peacefully"

"This is why I don't like ghoul sympathizer. Enlighten me then, Rieko, on the reason we hunt them. Newsflash: They are not as pacifistic as you say. Corpses don't arouse them. Living, moving, healthy humans are what they like the best" / "You go with that argument? Not all of us want to live in the dirt. Not to mention that no matter how kind we are, humans will still turn on us due to their inherent fear"

Kiyomi High School, 28 years ago.

"If you say so" Rieko turned back to the blackboard, just as the math teacher came in. Behind her, Haise frowned, then he face palmed as he realized what he just did.

'How will I get to know her better if I antagonize her every time we talk?! Stupid Haise!' the young CCG member feels like banging his head, eliciting a smirk from the boy on his right. Arguably his closest friend, Yuma.

'If only you know the truth...' Rieko seethes inside

Anteiku, Kaneki's arrival.

"No, Kaneki-kun. You are using the defeatist logic. Peace between human and ghoul kind is possible. Some historians guessed that the practice of eating the dead comes from a long time ago when humans gives the ghouls their deceased relatives, in exchange for us hunting alongside..." Yoshimura began his explanation, but Kaneki cut him.

"The world changes old man. They no longer require our 'services'", Kaneki put air quote with his fingers, "besides, there is no confir..."

"Yes, there is" Yoshimura interrupted him back.

"Just because few humans and ghouls fell in love doesn't mean..."

"There is" Yoshimura asserted. Kaneki was lost for words. Was the old man fucking with him? No. Yoshimura never stroke Kaneki as one.

"Don't leave me hanging, then"

Yoshimura slurped a bit of coffee, before he began his next tale

"The answer to that question lies in the origin of your Mother. That is... 24th Ward"

Kaneki reminisced about the first day he arrived while lying on the soft mattress Yoshimura provided him (really, when your food isn't the type that can be bought, but hunted, your living expense becomes considerably lower).

Well... Yoshimura was kind to him.

Perhaps too much. The others were cordial, but only interact with him on a professional basis.

And Touka...

'Touka... That girl...'

The girl hated him. He didn't know why.

Was he that repulsive?

"Or I'm just that unwelcome in this place" Kaneki murmured.

That's when a knock disturbed the silence in the room.

"Who is it?" Kaneki shouted, not bothering to stand up and go to the door.

If it is Touka, then he wouldn't open. No. No matter what sort of apology or excuse she made. It was probably Yoshimura ordering her anyway.

"It's Irimi"

Kaneki perked up. This was the first time someone other than Yoshimura wanted to meet him. Really meet him, instead of the conversation they had as a fellow employee.

"Wait"

Kaneki opened the door, and to his surprise, it wasn't just Irimi, but also Enji Koma.

'How strange' Kaneki thought, he could have sworn that Enji and Irimi wouldn't want to be in the same room as him. Either from fear, contempt, or just plain awkwardness. Kaneki didn't know.

It took Kaneki a little while to realize that, like him, Irimi and Enji was lost in their observation.

"Hel...lo?" Kaneki greet them, awkwardly. Irimi and Enji were a little startled that the object of their observation moved, snapping them out of it.

"Hi Muka... " Irimi jab him in the rib with her elbow, and Enji quickly correct himself, "Kaneki-san"

"Hey, uh... what's up?" Kaneki really didn't know what to do in the current situation. He was not the best at socializing.

This time, it was Irimi who answered.

"It's break time and we're wondering if you want to train with us" fast, to the point, and reasonably courteous. Kaneki decide that he liked Irimi.

"Sure... martial arts or kagune?" Kaneki asked. Enji grinned, almost too savagely that Kaneki realized, this man isn't the same type as Touka.

This man is a monster and so is she. They got the experience.

As expected of Ghouls under Yoshimura's wings. Sometimes literally. Ukaku.

Do I have to explain the joke?

No?

Then cease those comments you fourth wall spectators.

"Both" Enji answered, the grin disappeared as soon as he answered.

"Alright, give me a minute" Kaneki rummaged through his duffel bag, pulling out a slightly longer than normal drawing tube. Though no question was uttered, Kaneki knew that they were puzzled.

"Don't worry, you'll like it, I promise" Kaneki assured them.

Both of them nodded and they led him into Anteiku's basement.

Kaneki couldn't wait to see how powerful they are

Touka sighed... hard

Truthfully, she was a bit unfair to Kaneki. She projected her brother in him. Her wayward brother who refused Yoshimura's helping hand. She hated that Kaneki gained his redemption, while Ayato left her alone. Her manager practically begging her wasn't exactly helping either. It made her... hate herself.

Touka made her way towards the basement, to the training ground. She need to vent. Hopefully Yomo or Irimi was there. She could use a pointer.

Her fight with Kaneki, if she could even call it that, proved that she needed it.

[Clank] [Clank][Clank][Clank]

Sounds of metal going against metal could be faintly heard from her side of the door.

'Enji and Irimi seems to be going at it again' Touka thought. They were leaders of rival ghoul gangs and while they left their brutal past, they never really let go of their rivalry either.

When Touka opened the door, it is safe to say that she was wrong.

What she saw in the dimly lighted, gigantic sewer-like structure that is the entrance of the 24th ward, was a deadly dance between two predators.

The formerly white-haired man had just dodged Irimi's kagune shards by gracefully moving between the gap, repelling any that he couldn't dodge with a sword.

'Is that a quinque?' Touka's eyes widened as she realized that no mere sword can repel kagune. It surprised her coworker too, even more when Kaneki told them how he acquired it.

What Touka just missed and made Irimi baffled was how, even in middle of the fight, Kaneki swipe remnants left on the floor from Irimi's initial assault and proceed to ate it.

"Sorry, need every stamina I can get" Kaneki apologized, right before he sprinted, way faster than normal ghouls not classified under Ukaku.

Hell, the speed even caught Aya Irimi, the SS-Ranked Black Dog, off guard. Irimi fire more shards, but Kaneki suddenly changed course, too sudden that it seemingly defies physics for a split second, until the Black Dog realized that Kaneki used his Kagune to anchor himself into nearby pillar.

'His kagune manipulation is cut above the rest... And that speed when he unleashed it' Irimi watched as Kaneki land on the pillar and using it to spring forward, leaving behind crack on it.

'A bit of a showoff' Irimi noted. Irimi decided to sprint forward, meeting Kaneki's attack head-on. As if to answer the challenge, Four red, scaly tentacle burst out of his Kaneki's back. Looking gigantic compared to the one he used to anchor himself.

'A power idiot' Irimi concluded. In this area, Kaneki start to resemble to resemble Koma, although Koma's brute force lies in his brutal hand to hand combat prowess, just like most Bikaku.

This one is text book Rinkaku. Overwhelming the opponent with superior striking force of their kagune.

Was he thinking of overpowering her?

'Seems the rank is getting on his head' Irimi correctly assumed that his rank-up was mostly from his terrorist activities, not just his combat prowess. Skill-wise, she and he should be equal.

Should be.

One... A kagune tentacle went past her head, missing by a hair's breadth. This is not luck. This is Irimi's result of years of training, years of battling opponents, ghoul and humans. The grace displayed by the Black Dog put Touka to shame.

Two... Another tentacle shot from her left, and Irimi hardened her left wings, enabling her to parry the attack, albeit barely.

Three... A more serrated looking kagune burst out of the ground, surprising Irimi. Her hearing barely registered the sound of Kaneki's kagune burrowing and gave her a little to no time to dodge.

On the side, Touka watched the fight seriously, noting everything Kaneki and Irimi did.

'There shouldn't be enough time for his kagune to burrow down' Touka observed, 'yet he managed it...'

Talent... A quality that will forever differentiate people. Was this the result of Kaneki's exceptional talent? Or the result of his experience in waging war against CCG and massacring Ghouls?

Meanwhile, Irimi produced multiple shard from her wings in retaliation. This time, it was Kaneki's turn to be surprised, seemingly not counting on how fast she could counter attack.

Fourth... Kaneki shield himself with the fourth Kagune, while instinctively pulling back the rest.

'An opening' thought both Irimi and Enji Koma (who watch on the side opposite of Touka). Before the shard hit the ground, Irimi already closing in with her hardened wings, ready to shred his stomach.

From what Yomo told her, Ken Kaneki can take quite a hit, and it's not like a disembowelment means instant death for ghouls.

'Rinkaku has pretty good regeneration' Irimi lamely assured herself. Truthfully, she felt a little guilty.

'What the hell, what is a training without a bit of blood and sweat? Anyway'

"I won" Irimi declared.

Her wings meet the stomach of the centipede and with a bit A bit of rc-cells shards, her world explode in red.

As she expected, unleashing the projectile at close range did a number even on an adversary like Kaneki. He lost his grasp of his quinque, letting it fall to the ground, his kagune lost their form and disintegrate into a red liquid before fading entirely. His hands slowly made way to the ukaku kagune.

"Ah shit... I lost..." Kaneki smiles a little, blood trickling from his mouth, "Is... What you think I'd say, isn't it Irimi-san?"

The smile turned into a full blown grin and Irimi was so startled by the sheer intensity of madness channeled by the simple expression that she instinctively step back, almost forgot to liquify her kagune to pull it out of his grasp.

A single mistake like that is all Kaneki needed... For his ultimate gambit.

"Irimi, WATCH OUT!" Enji's warning, perhaps too loud for her sensitive ear, but it did its job and quickly turn her senses to the max.

It was an attack that she couldn't see, yet Enji could. Up, below, behind, left, right?

Irimi didn't even realized that she thought that, her experience feed her with all the information she needed to guide her reflex.

The same experience didn't prepare her for an opponent like Kaneki.

It was the second time on the day that she's splashed with the blood of Mukade in the face.

Only this time, it marked her lost in battle.

Her body was imprisoned in a cage made out of a carapace-metal like object made out of the one-eyed ghoul's rc-cells.

She barely registered what happened, as was Touka and Enji. Well, Enji had known what Kaneki was doing, but he never thought the half-ghoul would went through with that plan of his.

"God, almost (cough) killed (cough) myself right there" Kaneki laughed, interspersed by a wet sound of chocked-like cough.

Irimi just lie there on the ground, Touka and Enji on her side, while she struggled to lift her head and look at the looming figure before them.

"Shit (cough), if I miss by the millimeters, my heart would've been shredded.

'Was he always this tall?' Irimi wondered, 'or is this instinct?'

"You... masked the movement of your kagune with your body and pierce your fucking lung... just to win this spar?" Irimi couldn't hide the tone of fear in her voice.

"I didn't want to resort to that (cough) or this" Kaneki gestured to his detached kagune that bound her body before he spit out blood, "Don't want to show all my hands and all that, but... I'll be damned if I lose more than once"

It was at that moment, when she saw the gaping hole in Kaneki's left chest and heard that preposterous reasoning that Touka came to a conclusion.

It wasn't influence, or talent, experience in battle, or his terroristic attack that got him that SSS rank.

No.

He was just insane...

Author's note

No, Ginger spell checker, I don't want to replace kagune with cajun, that's racist. And Enji's name is not enjoyed.

Hope you enjoy this, see you in... I don't want to make a commitment. We are not that close yet. Love you.

(Wot m8?)

Much jokes, fourth wall references. Much Fun.

Sorry for the shitty battle description. Really, I just relay what I imagine in my head.

The limit of characters for the chapter's title are crippling my creativity!
