Jolt! Kitty x Erik

The bed was softer than any he had ever slept on before (at least that he could recall) which led him to wonder exactly how much money this school made to afford such comfortable beds.

It was easier to ponder on a meaningless question such as this than to dwell on his current bizarre life circumstances.

Finding out that he was supposed to be several years younger than he was had been a bit of a shock; not as much as finding out that his older self was a wanted terrorist, though that was still a bit of a shock.

Then, being told that the man who had welcomed him in to his school was his oldest and dearest friend (he was rather saddened that he couldn't remember Charles. It would be nice to have a friend for the first time in years.) was just a bit more of a nudge towards the edge of his ability to deal.

Erik was not the humble type and knew the strength of his own mind quite well but this was more than even he could handle easily all at once.

All of these things led to him being wide awake at 2 am when someone came through the bed.

A jolt of surprise thrilled up his spine as he scuttled backwards until his head hit the top of the headboard.

First there was a crown of brown hair, clear as day, against the light blue comforter, then an impish face appeared.

Large, drowsy brown eyes widened for a split second in surprise when they landed on him but then a cheeky grin spread across her face as she pulled herself up fully onto the bed.

"Hi! You must be new!"

Her voice was just a bit overly loud and she bobbed a little to the side as she stared at him.

Despite him not saying or even doing anything in reply, she continued to speak, shifting herself so that her legs were tucked up beneath her.

"This room is usually empty and I am just tipsy enough to admit that you are hot enough to remember."

Erik was able to suppress his laughter but not the endlessly amused grin that stole across his lips at this frank statement.

"Shouldn't you be concerned about being in a strange man's bed if you are not quite in control of your faculties?"

"Normally yeah, but I have a feeling you're a decent guy."

Erik was dead positive no one else in his adult life had ever even thought this about him much less said it aloud.

"Plus," she continued, "if I needed to I could totally reach into your chest and rip your heart out."

Giving her another more careful once over, Erik nodded slowly. "Bloodthirsty, I can appreciate that."

This statement for some odd reason caused the woman to break into helpless laughter.

After she was done, she stretched herself out on the bed beside him; her head falling on the pillow gracelessly.

"I'm going to go to sleep now. See you in the morning?"

"More than likely."

Her smile at this was sweet and with a yawned, "Good." she was out like a light.

Shifting down on the bed so that he was laying on the pillow next to her, Erik lifted the blankets so that it covered her as well as him.

Feeling his eyes getting heavy, Erik pondered a far more intriguing puzzle than any of his others.

Just who was this mystery woman and was there anyone he had to steal her away from?

And while at this moment in time he doubted many things in his life, he somehow had no doubt that she would be willingly won.
