The True Face

He never really showed her fear
but he had to be, she'd known -
and she wished she hadn't seen...

Or seen before it ripped
at the drawstrings of her heart

Because she wasn't ready,
hadn't been ready for it.
His strength, his angry face
was just a shell

That he could no longer hide behind
for her.
