A/N: Merry Christmas in July, CartoonNetwork90sFan!
It was a very hot summer's day as it was starting to turn into the middle of July. One Miranda MacArthur was with her best friends in the whole world, Devin and Layla Vincent along with Michelle Hill and Skipper Sampson.
"Man, it's so hot..." Skipper panted as she took off her baseball cap and fanned her face with it.
"Tell me about it..." Michelle wiped her forehead. "I haven't been this hot since I accidentally sent Uncle Dexter's robot to that volcano in Japan by accident."
"And that air conditioner's broken on the inside..." Devin frowned. "I wish I had Dad's ice powers right now..."
"Me too..." Layla wheezed as she tried to drink from her water bottle and passed it around to keep her friends cool with her.
"Come on, guys, we gotta beat the heat," Miranda said to them and stood in front of them with her hands on her hips. "Yes, it's a scorcher, but I once heard from somewhere you should think of a nice and cool place to concentrate on and you'll feel cooled off."
"Who told you that?" Layla asked, a little angry from the heat.
"Ms. Spinelli's fourth grade teacher." Miranda shrugged.
The kids just groaned in dismay.
Suddenly, there came a familiar platinum blonde-haired woman with red lips and green eyes. "Hi, kids!"
"Aunt Sammy!" Miranda recognized her and hugged her.
"Who's that?" Devin and Layla asked.
"I hope it's a customer," Skipper grinned. "I'm so hot I think I'll open up a lemonade stand and give the customers a blast of the power of rock on my key-tar!"
"No, no, guys, this is Sammy," Miranda introduced her adult friend to her kid friends. "She's my Aunt Mike's best friend from when they were kids!"
"Hey there." Sammy greeted with a smile.
"Hello, Miss Sammy..." the kids droned.
Sammy frowned. "Why so miserable?"
"It's hot and there's nothing we can do." Skipper frowned.
"Yeah, Kathleen has a pool, but it has a strict 'no dork' policy." Devin added.
"Which means us." Michelle frowned.
"Aww... I wish I could help you guys..." Sammy sighed. "Have you thought about thinking about something nice and cool to take your minds off the heat?"
"That's what I said!" Miranda piped up with a small smile.
"Yeah, but what can we think about that doesn't involve being hotter than the Earth's sun if it were destroying the planet?" Layla nearly scoffed.
"Hmm..." Sammy tried to think, she then had an idea and even though it was summer, maybe this story could cheer them up. "Why don't I tell you guys about the time Miranda's aunt Mike almost ran away from Cartoon Network for good?"
The kids looked to her in curiosity.
"But Sammy, how's that story supposed to cool us off?" Skipper huffed, pointing an accusing finger to the woman.
"Well, you see, it's a Christmas story," Sammy continued to explain. "And since Christmas in July is a big deal around here in Cartoon Network, why don't I tell it to ya?"
"The story isn't in July, is it?" Michelle bit her lip.
Sammy had a laugh. "No, no... It's in December like many original Christmas stories..."
"So, Aunt Mike almost ran away?" Miranda asked. "Is it because of her wolf-shadow powers?"
"No," Sammy shook her head. "You all know Christmas is the time to be with families and having fun... But for Mike, it was a different story... It all started on a cold morning in Cartoon Cartoon Fridays Studio... A long, long time ago..."
