Hi everyone! I know, I know - it's been ages since you've heard of anything from this story. I was always disappointed that I wasn't able to finish this series and give it the time and dedication it deserved (mostly due to my poor mental health over the years) and have tried a handful of times to revitalize the story and myself so that I could work on it again, but nothing really seems to help me.

However, I've been doing some thinking lately and I'd really love to try turning this fanfiction into an actual book! It will probably take a few years before anything is finalized, but I've already come up with the basics for the new version of this story. I'll give you all some basics now for those that are interested.

Let me just say really quick that I'll never officially decide to not work on this fanfiction. It's so near and dear to my heart, and helped me get through a lot of hard things in my life, but I just don't care for Doctor Who as much as I used to. It's not my whole life like it once was, but I still love it very dearly for what it was to me. I may come back and try to write for it every now and then, but no promises. Thank you all to everyone who ever read, reviewed, or supported this story and series in any way. As much as this story was for me, it was also for all of you and I don't even have the words for how much I appreciate you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Unfortunately, I don't have any character names yet or very much information for the story beyond the basics, but here is the basic plan for the eventual, proper book remake of Once Upon Another Time!

The Doctor and Diana will be (completely human) adventurers set sometime within the 16th and 19th centuries; two people who were originally thrown together under extreme circumstances and found that they preferred each other's company to anyone else's. The Doctor is a genderfluid, masculine-presenting person of mysterious and exotic origins, traveling the globe with his young family member (maybe adopted sibling or cousin; this character's meant to be based of off Susan Foreman). Diana is a romantic, intelligent, and gentle person who never seems to stop learning new things or wanting to discover the unknown. When the Doctor meets Diana, he finds that her compassionate and caring nature brings him a safety and peace he's never known before. He can be himself with her - all of himself.

And this is where the story will be slightly more than just a historical fiction romance-adventure novel. Based on my own personal experience with mental health and with the mental health of the people closest to me, I thought it would be a good challenge and a beautiful idea to give the Doctor's character DID, or Dissociative Identity Disorder. I plan to be respectful in my portrayal of DID since there are so many terrible depictions of people who have it. I know people who have DID and I have a very intimate understanding of what the disorder is like, how it affects you good, bad, and otherwise, and I believe that it's really nothing for non-DID people to be afraid of. Maybe this story could help bring about a better understanding. Maybe it will just be an interesting romance story. But I still feel that it's a project worth striving for!

If anyone has any input they want to share on these ideas or you just want to say hi, feel free to reply to this chapter/author's note in a review or send me a PM! Thank you all again for all the love and support you've shown this story. I'll post new author's notes and hopefully new chapters over time!
