Back in the Philly police precinct, the BAU were frustrated once again. JJ just held another press conference in hopes of getting any new information while also fielding question after question by the press.

Hermione was hitting a bunch of dead ends too. Neville had not registered himself with the American Ministry of Magic when he entered the country and they have no evidence of him using his wand anywhere within the country.

Morgan, tired of all this waiting, called Garcia instead of waiting for her to call him.

"Baby girl, do you have anything for us? We're coming up empty and could really use your special computer powers," pleaded Morgan.

"Sorry Derek, I'm still looking for him but nothing has pinged yet." Garcia felt like she was letting the team down. But that would not stop her, oh no, it made her look even harder for any trace of Neville Longbottom.

"Alright, just let us know as soon as you get anything," said Morgan as he heard her typing away at the keys on her keyboard. Taking the phone away from his ear, he angrily ends the call and tosses it onto the table. Hotch looks over at him but all he could do was shake his head.

Hermione had glanced up during the call, but remained focused on her laptop as she researched places Neville may have visited in the magical part of Philadelphia. A lot of the shops had muggle storefronts with magical sections in the back, so they should have information on the internet. Her first thought was plants – perhaps he needed a specific plant for his greenhouse or some sort of unique soil. He had always been so fond of herbology after all, so she decided to start there.

There were 7 stores within the comfort zone that sold more than just the average plant. After contacting the American Ministry, 2 of those 7 also sold magical plants in a separate section within the store. One of which was located relatively close to the crime scene that he was caught on camera. Finally, she has somewhere to at least start her search.

Hopefully that was the reason he was even close to the crime scene. He could have just been going to the shop and it was all terrible timing.

Wanting to just go alone to investigate but knowing she was too closely watched, Hermione decided to share this with the team. It is still a muggle shop so they could question the worker at the front of the shop who would have seen Neville at least enter the building if he was there.

"Alright, so…" starts Hermione to get the attention of the team. They all look up at her expectantly but then she notices their eyes darting over her shoulder towards the police detectives at their desks behind her. Their attention no longer on her, Hermione turned around to see what they were looking at.

The lead detective on the case must just have finished up a phone call because he slammed it down and ran his hand over his face. Then he barked out orders to the officers which couldn't be heard from the conference room the team was in.

Hermione looked back at the team and already most of them were out of their chairs and unconsciously profiling what had just happened. Even though she had an idea of what had just occurred, Hermione turned towards Hotch with a question on her lips. Before she got the chance, the lead detective was already walking through their door.

"We've got another body," the detective said hurriedly as he throws his coat on and clips his gun to his holster.

"Do we have the identity of the victim yet?" asked Morgan.

"Yes, as soon as we ran his prints it matched with a graduate student from Temple University, Joseph Heister," mentioned the detective.

"Rossi, Prentiss, and I will go to the new crime scene with the detective. Reid and Morgan, go visit his family and see if they can tell you anything about where he has been. I'll notify Garcia and have her dig into Joseph Heister's life," said Hotch as he divvied up the team. Hermione was notably left out of the assignments.

"Sir, excuse me, but I'd like to go the crime scene. It's important that I see it firsthand," Hermione stated politely but firmly. She was not going to be left behind at the station when there could still be magical residue so soon after the murder.

Hotch looked at her for a second as everyone around the room began gathering their coats and bags, and then he finally nodded at her. Relieved that there was not more of an argument, Hermione picked up her coat and followed the rest of the team out of the building.

Rossi and Prentiss were walking towards one SUV and Hermione slowed down unsure as to where she was supposed to go. She could just pick one, but the last thing she wanted was to step on any toes and annoy the team members she was meant to help.

"Where would you prefer…" she started to ask and Hotch cut her question by motioning her towards his SUV he was driving. She followed him to the car and they were on their way to the crime scene.

Rossi and Prentiss arrived at the scene just before Hermione and Hotch had and they were already walking towards the body. CSI was already on the scene and they were taking photographs of anything that may be relevant to the case.

Hermione followed Hotch towards the rest of the team and she finally got a look at the body.

"He matches the unsub's type. His face has a very similar appearance to the other victims," commented Prentiss as she squats down to get a closer look.

"There is no obvious sign of the cause of death either," added Rossi. They were all thinking the same thing. This most certainly was the same unsub. The victimology fit and it looked like it was the same mysterious cause of death as with the previous bodies.

"This scene lacks the signs of remorse like the prior victims, though. The unsub has either stopped feeling bad about the killing once he realizes he has killed the wrong person, or perhaps he got interrupted and never finished," added Hotch.

Looking for additional information, the rest of the team went over to talk to the lead detective while Hermione continued to examine the body.

Hermione's first thought was that it must be the killing curse as no other curse left so little evidence behind. She glanced around her and noticed that no one had their attention on her or the body. Sliding her wand out from its arm holster, she subtly held it in hand while ensuring her body would hide it from view if anyone looked over. Hermione did not want to risk a Notice-Me-Not spell with how intelligent the muggles were that she was working with.

"Magicae revelare," she whispered as she performed the spell. A faint green glow in the air around the body appeared before quickly dissipating. There was definitely a spell performed as she was already pretty sure of at this point.

"Singula magicae," she performed next in the hopes that she would be able to identify the wizard or witch. A piece of parchment popped into thin air which Hermione quickly grabbed while looking around to see if the barely-there sound caught anyone's attention. Noticing nothing, Hermione peered at the parchment hopeful for some answers.

Magical Signature: Hidden

Letting out a huff in frustration, Hermione banishes the paper. That was no use other than telling her what she already knew.

Figuring she should join back up with the team, Hermione walks over to them and catches them in mid-conversation.

"…witness to the killing, the victim's daughter," the lead detective was sharing with the team. Hermione's only reaction was the widening of her eyes as she contemplated the implications of leaving a witness. That would be why there was no evidence of remorse, the unsub was interrupted. She looked over at the detective's shoulder at the little girl sitting huddled on a bench out of view of the body.

"Did she see who killed her father?" Hermione asked as she stepped up next to Hotch.

"All she keeps saying is that suspect was wearing a hoody. She may have seen more but is still in too much shock to realize it," replies the detective. "We're bringing her back to the station to see if she will remember in a few hours".

At that moment, Hermione sees an officer bringing the girl into her car most likely on their way to the station.

"Alright, we'll head back to the precinct now since there is nothing else. Prentiss, when we get back I want you to talk to the daughter, see if she recalls anything new. Morgan and Reid should be returning to the station soon anyway so we can regroup there," declares Hotch.

With everyone in agreement, the team heads back to their cars. As Hermione was getting into the passenger's seat, a flash of green out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. Pausing mid-step, she turned her head fully to where the green was only to see it completely empty.

There was such a striking familiarity, a feeling in her heart that did not agree with what her eyes were seeing. That color that she had only seen associated with one person.

"Everything alright, Hermione?" asked Hotch as he waits in the driver's seat next to her. He already started the car and was waiting for Hermione to get in when she stopped moving suddenly.

"Yea, I just thought I saw something," Hermione draws out slowly as she finishes getting into the car after one last glance towards where that green appeared. She could feel Hotch's concerned eyes on her because she knew her response was in no way convincing at all. She hoped he would just let it go. She does not see him nod, but she hears him shift the gear into drive and watches as the scenery goes by on the way to the station.

Not a word was spoken during the drive as the SUV was filled with silence. While the car may have been quiet, Hermione's head was definitely not. Her brain was racing as thoughts and questions were screaming in her head.

Harry Potter is here. She would know that shade of green from his eyes anywhere. But what on earth was he doing here? And at this crime scene of all things. Was he here in Philadelphia because of Neville? Or was Neville in Philadelphia because of Harry? Or did neither of them know that the other was in the same city? And maybe it was all a coincidence that the murders were happening at the same time.

That last thought made Hermione scoff to herself. This is all way to specific for it to just be a coincidence. Something is going on here and one or both of them have something to do with it.

But Harry, her brother in every way but blood? She cannot see him killing people in the same way his parents were killed. He even refused to use it during the war, preferring to incapacitate rather than kill.

Maybe they are being framed. That is a thought that Hermione can stick too. Some one in the old Order found out that one of her best friends was in the city and they are setting him up for murder.

The next step that is more important now than ever is to find both Neville and Harry. When Hermione talks to them, they will tell her what is really going on.

With a plan in place, Hermione notices that Hotch just pulled into a parking spot. She hops out of the car before Hotch and hurries into the building. Bypassing the BAU members in the conference room, Hermione heads to the women's bathroom and locks the door behind her.

Placing her bag on the back of the sink, she grabs her cell phone that is programmed with Harry's number. He never answered her last bunch of calls or texts, but maybe he will now. She pulls up his contact and calls him. After three rings it went to his voicemail, but Hermione was not going to give up and called him again. And again. And again.

She tried one more time and was only half listening to the ringing since she did not expect him to pick up. That is why she almost did not even notice when the ringing stopped but it did not ask her if she wanted to leave a message. When her brain caught up, she heard the breathing on the other end.

"Harry?" Hermione asked.

"Hello, Hermione. You've been calling? I see that stubbornness still runs strong," replied Harry in a low tone.

"Yes, Harry, I've been trying to reach you. Must you really go so long without talking to me? I have left you so many messages, I was getting worried. You know how we all just want to make sure you are okay. And we do not even know where you are or if you need help. Nevermind, that's not the point," rambled Hermione.

"Hermione, please get to the point, then. You know I love you like a sister, but you have got to work on that rambling," said Harry curtly. Hermione saw her own face get red in embarrassment when she looked in the mirror.

"I'm sorry, Harry. The point, then. I need you to tell me if you are in Philadelphia. And it better be the truth, I'll hear the lie in your voice," stated Hermione. There was a long pause on the other end. She could picture Harry running his hand through his already messy hair. Hermione almost went to ask him again when his voice came over the line.

"Yes," he reluctantly responded. She let out a breath and tapped her fingers on the side of the sink.

"I'd like to meet if you're available. Tonight, for a late dinner?" she asked him.

Harry was torn. She phrased it like a question, but he knew she was telling him that they were going to meet up. Even though he knew it could only lead downhill, he did miss her.

"That works. Do you know where Simon's is?" he replied.

"I passed that in the car today, I know where it is. I'll see you there at 7pm. Until then, Harry," Hermione said.

"Goodbye, Hermione," he responded and hung up.

Hermione now had her chance to see what Harry was up to. She did not want to mention him to anyone on the BAU until she gets her chance to talk to him. Until that time, though, she needs to know what the girl has seen and check if there were any updates on Neville. She had not had a chance to share her theory about the herbology shops so maybe they could still find him that way.

She walked back to the conference room and saw that all of the BAU team were present. She put her belongings next to her chair but remained standing.

"I had a thought," started Hermione which caught everyone's attention. "Neville is known for his love of plants so I looked into shops that cater towards the more unique species. I was able to narrow it down to two stores within the comfort zone that he may have visited. If he did, they could have his contact information if they looked at his I.D. or shipped him any items," Hermione added.

Hotch opened his phone, called Garcia, and put it on speaker for everyone to hear.

"Garcia here, fingers at the ready," she greeted everyone. Hotch indicated for Hermione to start talking.

"Hi Garcia. Could you look into two plant shops for me? The first is Living Plants and the second is Botany Plus. Check to see if Neville Longbottom was a customer at either of these stores, please," Hermione explained after she quickly looked up the names of the stores.

"Sure thing, my British Biscuit, I'll get that information… right… to… you… Hold on the line for a second," Garcia replied as she cross-referenced all of the parameters. She was hopeful that this would finally connect them with this person of interest. She struck out on Living Plants with no record of him anywhere within the store's meticulous online records.

Ping Ping Ping could be heard through the speakerphone.

Garcia quickly looked at the new popup screen that found something. While she told the team, she may or may not have hacked into the company's secure files on customer information.

"Botany Plus does have record of Mr. Longbottom purchasing some of their supplies on the day of the fifth victim's murder. And they have an address listed for him since something he wanted was on backorder at the time. It is under another name which is why it never showed up in my search. I've sent that to your tablets," Garcia excitedly said to them.

"This Botany Plus is located very close to the crime scene that we saw him on camera," Reid commented as he put a pushpin into the map at the store's location.

"And according to the record, the timing of his purchase at the store is after the time of death and right around when the camera caught him. So instead of leaving the crime scene, he could have just been heading towards the store," Morgan mentioned.

"But wouldn't the ATM camera have caught him twice if he was going to and from a store?" asked JJ.

"Well if he had all his purchases with him, he might have just hailed a taxi or gotten a bus instead of walking home with his hands full," responded Morgan.

"So, he is looking less and less like the suspect we thought he was. I don't know many murderers that would go buy bags of soil and a rare African plant among other things after killing a person," added Rossi. Morgan smirked at his sarcasm.

"I still want to talk to Mr. Longbottom, but it looks like he may not be our prime suspect. I'll have a couple officers pick him up from his address and bring him here for an interview," Hotch included. "So where does that leave us?"

Not a single BAU member had a good answer to the question. They did not want to admit it, but if the 6th victim's daughter did not see anything, they were back at square one.

Or at least that is what they were thinking. Hermione was relieved Neville was proving to be innocent, but her worry for Harry was growing. She had a lead to follow that the team knew nothing about, and that lead was Harry Potter.

Why did it always have to be him?

(a/n) It has been a super long time, and it was honestly a recent reader's review that encouraged me to make some progress on the story. I didn't realize people were still reading this and my writing has changed a fair amount in that time. I'm still trying to figure out how exactly I want this to end since every time I write a chapter it changes on me. But hopefully it won't take so long next time.

Thanks for reading if you're still there!
